Nairaland / General / Re: Breaking! Prophet Felix Oluyemi ‘Baba Olomi Now Now’ Is Dead by oludashmi(f): 6:44am On Dec 05, 2016
kristofems:
Point of correction:

1. His name is Prophet Dr. Felix Oluyemi not Pastor Adeyemi

2. He did not complain of chest pains nor slumped as you detailed, He laid down to rest in the wee hours of Monday after his early morning prayers and his breathing became irregular thus prompting his immediate family members to call in his private physician who advised he should be taken to the hospital for medical care, observation and rest due stress symptoms he observed/diagnosed

3. Papa as fondly called called by his members was never sick.

in retrospect, his last moment speeches and vision he shared with his congregation and personal doctor on Sunday 27th November 2016 indicates he has fore-hand knowledge of his exit from the planet.

keep up with his official social media page for up to date genuine information.

Merci Beaucoup.

Thanks for the name correction though it was already noted and modified before your post but network delayed it.

Other info in your point are based on your hearsay and sentiment of what you want people to be fed with. You probably were not told this had happened a couple of time in the past.

Proper findings were done and how he was rushed to the hospital after the downpour on Monday afternoon, till last night and all findings are very genuine. There are even more findings not obvious to you members (from inner caucus) that we would leave out of this. News is not always about what you were told to tell people. Thanks.

Nairaland / General / Breaking! Prophet Felix Oluyemi ‘Baba Olomi Now Now’ Is Dead by oludashmi(f): 6:36pm On Dec 04, 2016
Popular Lagos Pastor, Felix Oluyemi, aka ‘Baba Olomi Now Now’ Founder of the Kingdom of Love Church of Christ, is dead.

Prophet Felix Oluyemi also known as Baba Olomi now now died yesterday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). He died at age 57.

NEWSECHO gathered that Baba Olomi complained of chest and breath issues last week Monday at his Okeira home and was rushed to the hospital where he was placed on life support.

Baba Olomi now now had since then remained on life support at LUTH while his colleagues in the ministry took over the leadership of the church services throughout the week.

During the last ‘Talitha Cumi’ vigil service which takes place every first Friday of the month, prayer rounds were offered for his recovery and healing while other prayers were concentrated on for his wife know as ‘Mummy General’.

But the news of his sickness remained as discreet as possible.

When the news of his death was released to his wife and church leaders at past 11am during today’s Sunday service, the entire church was thrown into sorrow and many were seen trooping to his house on Olatunde street, Okeira, Ogba, Lagos to register their sympathy.

NEWSECHO gathered that it was not his first time of having such health issue but the last one which led to his death was more critical.

No fake Amstel Malta Can drink, Company speaks out

The circulation of Amstel Malta Can drink went viral on social media few days ago comparing Amstel Malta Can drink looks and tagged ‘Fake and Real Amstel Malta’.

There were wild speculations that fake Amstel malt drinks had flooded the market which left consumers apprehensive about the malt brand.

Authorities in the company have responded, saying there are no fakes in the market that they only rebranded.

Report says that the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) had recently changed its NIS logo and Amstel Malta was the first in its category to comply with the new logo and repackaging.

Some consumers who saw the difference in logo were quick to tag the old packaging as Real while the new package was referred to as Fake.

Nairaland / General / Edo 75-year-old Pensioner Slumps, Dies During Screening by oludashmi(f): 2:10am On Feb 24, 2016
A 75-year-old pensioner identified as Sunday Oboite, of the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State slumped and died during payment screening.

It was gathered that the late pensioner, who retired from the Works department of the council, was at the secretariat for screening which the council had directed the pensioners to undertake before they would be paid their 10-month pension arrears.

The Secretary of Oredo Pensioners Association, Mr. James Erhunmense, said that the late Oboite had arrived at the venue of the exercise alone and complained of not having any money to buy food and drugs.

He was said to have been offered a bottle of beverage and some water by a Good Samaritan after he complained of hunger but slumped at about 1.20pm, before he was confirmed dead by some doctors at the council.

According to a source, his death sparked a protest among other pensioners, who were enraged by what had befallen their colleague.

A pensioner, James Omorogbe, said the computers used for the screening were always shutting down, adding that it took the death of their colleague for the council to provide them with chairs.

Politics / Nigerian Military Reveals Boko Haram’s New Bomb Tactics by oludashmi(f): 7:14pm On Jan 30, 2016
The Nigerian military today has alerted Nigerians of the new tactic Boko Haram terrorists have adopted in launching successful suicide bombings in locations in the North-west.

The military urge Nigerians to be watchful not only in the North West but in every other parts of the country, just as the insurgents plans to dress as mad people to detonate bombs to kill Nigerians.

Mr. Abubakar, a brigadier general, said, “It has come to the notice of the Defence Headquarters that Boko Haram, in their desperation to cause colossal havoc, have now devised a new method where they dress like mad persons to gain unsuspecting access to public areas to detonate bombs.

“The two male suicide bombers, dressed like mad women and carried out suicide bomb attack in Gombi, Adamawa State, is instructive in this direction. Five people lost their lives and several others were wounded in the heinous attack by these ungodly people.

“The Defence Headquarters therefore urges our fellow good citizens across the country to be wary of mad persons approaching markets, public places or crowded areas so as to nip this ugly trend in the bud.

“Nigerians are also enjoined to be security conscious at all times and should endeavour to report any suspicious person or object to security agencies for prompt action.”

Celebrities / Davido Baby Mama Drama: Dele Momodu Replies Ola Balogun by oludashmi(f): 9:38am On Jan 08, 2016
As more and more family members step in to reconcile the rift involving Hip hop star, David ‘Davidi’ Adeleke and mother of his child, Sophia Momodu, over allegation of child ‘abduction’, Publisher of Ovation magazine and uncle to Sophia has responded wittily to Ola Balogun’s attack of his person in the saga.

It is disheartening that while many well-meaning Nigerians have stepped in to intervene in the face-off between music superstar Mr. David Adeleke, aka DAVIDO, and the mother of his baby Ms Sophia Momodu, my cousin, a senior citizen and film-maker, Dr Ola Balogun, has chosen to cast aspersions on me for reasons best known to both of us,” Momodu said in a statement released on Wednesday.

Balogun had maintained that the Momodus have no right to demand being carried-along in the travel plans and purported treatment of Imade because according to him, they had played no role in the upbringing of the child.

Momodu described Balogun’s input as a malicious attack on him and Sophia without caring to find out what led to the present debacle. “I had the highest regards for Dr Balogun and had always responded to his calls and text messages to my London line most times. I wish to apologise to him publicly if I have not been able to attend to his certain demands but it is regrettable that he would retaliate through this vengeful manner,” he said.

He however said that although he expected Balogun to play a part by joining to reconcile the issue, “elders like him have brokered peace between the families and by the grace of God we should have good news sooner than later,” revealed, adding that “Dr. Balogun should please bury whatever animosity he has against me and join others in reconciling the families instead of pouring petrol into the conflagration…”

Celebrities / I Will Marry My Ex Husband A Million Times Again – Uche Iwuji by oludashmi(f): 6:50am On Jan 02, 2016
Popular Nollywood star, Uche Iwuji, whose marriage to Juwon Lawal crashed within months of getting married about 3 years ago, has revealed that she would rather marry her ex husband as no other man is good for her.

The single mother in a recent interview said the reason for crashed marriage is because she and her estranged husband courted for only 3 months and barely knew each other so well.

But it would be recalled that rumour has it that her husband left her after series of nude photos of her filled the internet.

Your experience as a single mother?
It is not easy; I must confess. I have to be there for my son who will be three this year. I have my businesses that has been footing our bills. I hang out with single mothers like myself. I thank God that every one is showing me love. However, a man settles your bill when you are married but that has changed because I fend for myself and my child. Nobody is asking for my account now (laughs).

Does that mean you will accept him if he comes back?
Yes, I will a million times. He is the best gift I have ever gotten.

Is it true you are unlucky with men as purported online?
Yes , I’ m not that lucky with men but I think I was lucky at a point. To have been married to my ex husband means luck was smiling at me. We only didn’t understand each other well.

Do you have any plan to remarry?
No way. I will marry my ex husband a million times again. No other man is good for me. I believe he will come back when he is ready.

How do you intend to manage sex in his absence?
I am sex starved for now but I don’t really long for it. I have been without sex for a while now.

Nairaland / General / Brunei Bans Christmas, Threatens To Jail Muslims Who Celebrate It by oludashmi(f): 12:47pm On Dec 23, 2015
Christmas is never going to be the same in some part of the world as the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, one of the world’s richest men placed a ban on Christmas for Muslims and restrict Christians celebration.

Sultan of Brunei warned that a ban on Christmas would be strictly enforced, for fear that Muslims could be led astray.

The rule states that “using religious symbols like crosses, lighting candles, putting up Christmas trees, singing religious songs, sending Christmas greetings, and wearing hats or clothes that resemble Santa Claus” are against Islamic faith and anyone found violating the ban risks a five-year jail sentence.

Although Christians are free to celebrate, they have been told not to do so “excessively and openly”. They must not disclose their plans to the nation’s Muslims – which make up 65 per cent of the 420,000-strong population.

Businesses have been warned to take decorations down and authorities have stepped up spot checks across the capital. Hotels popular among Western tourists that once boasted dazzling lights and giant Christmas trees are now barren of festive decor.

A Malaysian expatriate resident who does not want to be named said, “This will be the saddest Christmas ever for me. The best part of Christmas day is waking up and having that feeling that it is Christmas, but there’s just none of that here and you just feel deprived.”

“All this is just because of what the Sultan wants. In 2013, I saw many Muslims together with Christians having a good time at their house parties. Everything was normal and good.” he said.

Politics / MASSOB Blasts Father Mbaka For Describing Biafra Agitation As Evil by oludashmi(f): 4:45am On Nov 16, 2015
The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, yesterday gave a blast at Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev.Fr. Ejike Mbaka, for describing the on-going agitation for Biafra as evil.

MASSOB, said Fr. Mbaka, statement on the struggle for Biafra is insensitive and unguided. The group also said that a Biafran Republic will be declared very soon without bloodbath.

Director of Information, Factional MASSOB, Mr. Uchenna Madu described Fr. Mbaka’s condemnation of Biafra struggle as,”selfish and shameful.

“How can a reverred Igbo clergy-man descend so low in making such a condemnable statement few days after President Buhari’s wife visited him.

“Mr. President should be aware that no money given to Mbaka, persuasion, personal friendship with him can ever frustrate or diminish the rising status, consciousness and global re-awakening/acceptance of Biafra.
