Nairaland / General / Re: 120-year-Old Woman Found In Lagos? (pic) by Olumogun: 4:09pm On Jun 24, 2013
Some people may not believe that, but my friend of about 42 years old is the first daughter of a man who is 70 years old and he is the surviving first son of his own father who WAS 125 years old by April this year. Fortunately the PAPA just passed away early May, 2013. As at the time of his death, the Old Pa still take a walk around few meters around his compound, and never depended on eye-glasses to see. He was from KOGI STATE.

sexymoma: I thought you wrote the man is a Christian , If truly he is, God should have revealed to him the kind of person the woman is indirectly, Definitely he didn't pray bout their marriage before going into it. undecided

You may be correct, to me God's arrangement about marriage is to COMPLEMENT.
Whatever the -ves in the life of your partner is your burden, while any -ves
in your life becomes the responsibility of your partner.

So, no matter how much prayers and fasting you do, the best God can offer is
to give you a HELPER

Religion / Re: Should A Pastor Be Paid A Regular Month Salary? by Olumogun: 12:22pm On May 03, 2013
FOR THOSE WHO WILL CARE TO READ WITH THE RIGHT MIND.

A Pastor is a shepherd over God's flock - the Church.
Like a shepherd, he is to provide the spiritual need (feeds) for the Sheep
While in return he gets his Food, Clothing, Milk etc from the same flock.
The wisdom of a true shepherd helps him to know which sheep to 'milk', and which
one is old enough for 'food', out of which he gets the fur to make his coat.
Where he is not the direct owner of the flock, he is placed on wages (Jacob & Laban)

As a PRIEST, a Pastor depend is to depend entirely on what is provided on the Table of Show-bread
or from the meat that is set in the cooking pot beside the altar of Sacrifice in the Temple.

The set aside TRIBE for PRIESTHOOD (PASTORAL) was the tribe of Levi. They had no field of their own to farm
yet all other tribes in Israel where given a stand-out statue/order of making sure that the Priest where adequately provided for.

Unlike what we have this days, it is a sign of serious apostasy in the Old Testament when a PRIEST go out to do any other thing aside from ministering to God and to the people at the Temple.

Lastly Peter, James, John, Andrew, and others where gainfully employed before Christ called them to come follow Him as fishers of men. From there on, their welfare became the sole responsibility of the office of Christ to provide for their needs. This was done through gifts and support that was given to the ministry of Christ by noble disciples and saints.

Don't forget that the Word of God says: He that cannot provide (basic needs) for his family is worse than an infidel. God will not want any of his servants to be seeing in that manner.

Why not let us all do some follow up here on this issue. How?
1. someone to give us some pictures before the Market was closed.
2. then we need to see the situation now when every thing is under locks and keys.
3 when finally the state govt begin anything there, someone should send some pictures here.

After comparing these three stages, that is when we can come up to comment right and well

Religion / The Real Meaning Of Christmas by Olumogun: 11:42am On Dec 24, 2012
The true meaning of Christmas is love. John 3:16-17
The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love.
The real Christmas story is the story of God's becoming a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ.
We celebrate Christmas each year out of gratitude for what God did for us.
We remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshiping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate.

I was once saddened over the breaking news of a young man i know so well.
In fact, I saw few close friends weeping profusely after hearing about the "sad event"
Few hours later, it was confirmed that the earlier news was fake and the young man was hale and hearty.
Immediately everyone went agog with joy, pop champagne etc.
Have you been hit by such news or info before:
what was your reaction on hearing the news?
At the point of knowing that the worse has not happen after all, what was ur reaction?

THERE IS NO NEED GETTING MARRIED AGAIN BECAUSE ALL I COULD HAVE WISH FOR IN MARRIAGE I ALREADY HAVE
EVEN IN MULTIPLE:- Children (2 boys and a girl), women (3 regular at service), punny (whenever or wherever I want it).
SO WHAT ELSE?

A TRUE STORY

A wealthy woman went to her home-town for the burial of a relative. On the day of burial, after spending more than 1 hour to dress and make up, she was shocked to find out on getting to the reception venue when one of the "local drummer" was wearing exact same design and colour of her special clothing. She got so infuriated that she just walked pass the people dancing to welcome her and went straight to the high table. thru-out the remaining activities, one could see that all her "effizy" left her.
