This is too much, you are doing a great work here and can't remember the last time I read a piece like this. The first one brought tears to my eyes, very emotional.

You have not only imparted into me today, you have encouraged my writing skill. Keep it up, the sky is your starting point.

@sistawoman

That was a cute conversation. If this kind of conversation go on in homes, it will help the couple adjust where necessary and understand some things.

I think instead of cheating [as it is now called], a man should just practice polygamy if he can afford it grin
That way, he is not doing anything wrong in the eyes of God and man!

Religion / Re: Is It Proper To Carry Corpse In The Church by oluwdashmi(f): 9:44am On Mar 19, 2009
Carrying corpse to the church is not bad. It depends on the principle/doctrine of the church. Come to think of it, when that person was alive, he used to worship with you and the fact that he passed on should not deprive him of the place where he was well known at least for the last time.

I am not saying they should pray for him cos that is a waste of time but should be used as an example for others to see that someday they would be carried into the church instead of the way they used to walk in by themselves. It is not a sin either.

I think the first thing is to know what he used the money for, how long he has been paying and how long it will take him to complete it. If he used it for something that would benefit both of you (now or future) then you've got no worry. Also, if you love him, stay by his side and encourage him. God will see you thru.
Family / Re: Should Married Women Keep Unmarried Friends? by oluwdashmi(f): 12:54pm On Mar 17, 2009
Married or no married, just no who your friend is.

I will keep an unmarried friend except I don't trust her and don't want her to break my precious home.

I will advise that you keep the pregnancy cos the man will do anything possible if you terminate it more so that he is still a single at that age.

His age shouldn't be an excuse cos you realised that before going out with him. This is what I keep telling ladies that you shouldn't date someone you can't marry cos anything could happen on the way.

Religion / Re: The Number one Sign Of A False Church by oluwdashmi(f): 10:51am On Mar 17, 2009
Ride on Osisi, you are on the track.

Some pastors nowadays present God as if he is your 'padi', your friend and some even call him the man up-stairs. This is very bad. If God is our friend, then there will be little or no respect between us cos we will relate with him the way we do with our friends.

We should respect him, fear him and love him cos he can decide anything over our lives.

leave kunleoshob and pastoraio alone, let them say what they like. The devil qoutes the bible better than they do but he (the devil) is not a christian. Instead he does that to confuse and drag people to where he belong.

@kunleoshob
I just pray you don't study the bible in vain cos you use it against pastors all the time. From your responses so far, it shows you don't practise what you study cos yu like engaging in so much argument or haven't you studied the bible to that extent?

I know you will soon quote long scriptures, its the attitude of the devil.
Religion / Re: Can Any Nigerian Pastor Reject A 10 Billion Naira Bribe ? by oluwdashmi(f): 12:48pm On Mar 16, 2009
I know banom as always been an antichrist and I'm not surprised but what bothers me is when he will rise to become a 'pastor with an example of what pastors should look like'

In the first place, for what offence and why are you bribing a pastor? There are one million and one pastors who will never collect any amount of bribe.

Secondly, you talk about Nigerian pastors all the time, are there better pastors around the world? Are we not all human beings just in different locations of the world?

The fact that banom and his followers can receive a N100 bribe in replace of their destiny does not mean everybody will. Lets Leave any pastors out of this, I can bet you that an ordinary person who is neither a pastor/Imam or whatever can reject a $10 billions even to the point of death.

What matters most is INTEGRITY.
Career / Re: Maths Or Economics: Which Is Better For Nigerian Job Market? by oluwdashmi(f): 9:28am On Mar 13, 2009
@poster
I disagree fundamentally with some of the above replies. First, studying for the job market will only earn you a meal ticket. Second, studying a course that you love and is compactible with your purpose in life make you a fulfilled person. You can study a course that will drive your passion to be what you want to become or a course that will get you a job but will take away your happiness. You need to look in-ward and see a course that is compactible with your passion and area of interest, it is then that you can find both the meal ticket and fulfillment in life.

By the way, there are some disciplines that are hot cake in the market today but will become liability in the nearest future. Technology changes the way we do things in this modern age, but when you study a course that is your area of interest, you will always find fulfillment in life.

Some people study some discipline for prestige reasons, a course that has nothing to do with their life and they end up being the second best in life. They may struggle but it will only make them second best. In view of this, if your area of interest in life is Geography or Sociology or whatever, please don't hesitate, follow your dreams. Studying for Nigeria market is particularly dangerous, because the evidence on ground did not support that theory again. Today, most bankers are Engineering based graduates, some banks sometimes conduct special recruitment for Management based graduates, because majority of the people that passed aptitude test are Engineering graduates, as such to have professionals grounded in the nitty gritty of the banking profession they recruits Econs, Acct, Finance graduate to supplement with special consideration.

The fact in Nigeria today is that there are graduates of Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, English and French languages in the banking industry today. By and large don't allow environment to affect you. look inward study a course you are confortable with, it is better to be a Nobel Laureate in Street Sweeping than to be a second best in Physics, the two can not stand on the same pedastal, coming first is first anywhere.

@segzyjoe
Cool talk.
You were faster than I am.

This what some people don't know when it comes to career.
Career / Re: Lagos Is Worst Place To Work! by oluwdashmi(f): 9:09am On Mar 13, 2009
For those of us that agree with this 'story' with our whole heart, which other country have you worked and by what standards do you agree with this report??
@ goldcircle
Right question.

Let them say what they like, after coming here to enjoy their life they go back to say all sort of a shit, anyway thats their prob.

If Lagos is the worst place to work on earth, they should stay in their best cities and work. No matter how we try, they will never say anything good about Africa.

He didn't look before leaping. He should rush to the nearest magistrate court before he loose his life in the battle.

I read thru your ordeal with sympathy but first I want you to thank God for sparing your life.

Secondly, pls move on with your life cos going to the court is like wasting a whole lot of your time which would have been used in doing something more tangible for yourself. If you take your employers to court, I bet you will be on the case when several other jobs and ideas would have come and gone in vain and you might eventually give up or loss cos of bribery and corruption.

Take a better step further and you will be in the place where you will be appreciated. Remember that if you had died in that accident, you will not be thinking of going back to work or dragging your employers to court.

Your question is funny smiley smiley.

If everyone is rich, who will run errand for the rich, same thing if everyone leads. As for the sick, even you can fall sick any moment, you will only need to take a treatment.

No matter how we do it, there will always be poor and sick pple but all you have to do is help whoever you can.

what else do you want to do other than declare to him that you have caught him and walk away. Although it is painful depending on how long you are able to put yourself together but life goes on. As for your family, don't tell them anything but if they ask you about him, tell them you are no longer together.

I am a victim of your story but in my own case, it was the wife that called me and was weeping badly on phone as if she was dying. She kept crying and begging me to stay away from her husband cos he has been a different person ever since he met me (she knew me thru calls and text msgs). Although, I noticed the guy is cunny and finds it difficult answering some of my questns about marriage but I decided to be calm until his secret is revealed.

Immediately, I called my guy but he denied it saying the lady is a blackmailer and that I shouldn't mind her. I pretended as if his explanation was understanding but called the wife and we both met. She told me how he has been maltreating her, how he has promised to divorce her before the end of 2008 and that she has been crying for days. Infact her eyes were swollen and she kept crying in the eatery where we met and I was even the one cosoling her. The wife and I planned to keep it secret that we ever met then I turned him to a money making machine.

This is a guy who comes visiting my pple as a son in-law to be. Anyway, I didn't tell them anything and they never asked about him cos they said they prayed about it but received a msg that I should be careful.

But sha, I showed the guy.

Religion / Re: What's This About Firstfruits? by oluwdashmi(f): 2:19pm On Feb 24, 2009
@ poster

First fruit is true although optional. It is the whole of a new income in your life minus 10% which is the tithe. it does not necessarily be salary, some farmers do theirs with their farm production. Also, you can decide to pay your first fruits periodically, it could be your first income every year, every 2 years, every half year and so on (this is btw you and your God).

@kunle

Do you read the old testament at all? If you do, then you must practice somethings in it. If the old testament is not to be practiced, we would have been told to ignore it and it wouldn't have been compiled with the new testament. Remember that Jesus came to amend the old testament, not to abolish it.

Be careful the way you interprete the bible. Churches are what they are today cos everyone wants to twist the bible to his own taste and comfort. Everyone wants to apply man's/fleshy knowledge to the things of the spirit.

Ask the Holy Spirit for interpretation after reading any passage and be calm, expect him to speak and he will do so cos that is his work.
Religion / Re: Christian Girls And Modesty. Whats Your Take On This? by oluwdashmi(f): 1:53pm On Feb 24, 2009
I am a young christian girl. I have always been fascinated with the way muslim women dress. I was so curious about islam that I became a commitee member for the muslims students asociation at university. There was something exciting about goin to my malaysian friends houses and seeing them without their hijabs or abbayas on. It made them look so beautiful. The act of covering up made them look so elegant. At this time I was going out with a muslim brother and I would admit that the only sinful thing we did was hold hands. I am now out of the muslim curiousity phase as I learnt enough to know that Jesus is the way. But somehow I think I was attracted to the modesty and sexual purity of my muslim friends.
Now Im back home, and though I try to dress decently enough to church I cant help but notice the kind of clothes some girls wear to church. I miss the fact that we dont have a kinda of sisterhood like muslim sisters have that promote decent dressing among christian women. I know it would look a bit hardcore if I begin to dress like a muslim sister. But in my heart im pulled to doing this.
Anyway to keep this short, what are your views or experience on this issue.
Do you think this is a problem (societal)? Or is it a matter of changing churches?

@poster
I understand all you have said but my question is 'must you cover all your body from head to toe b4 you can look decent?' Decent dressing is all about ensuring that your unclothedness is not advertised to the public.

As per the way some ladies dress to church, maybe you attend one of those churches where dressing doesn't matter to their own God. Why not look for a bible believing church where their doctrine says dressing matters to God. Sorry I am not advertising church and I am not a member of any of the listed churches but I know they speak the truth and are perfect in terms of dressing-Deperlife, Apostolic, CAC, Apostolic Faith, Foursquare and some other ones.

It is not a societal prob, its the end of the world fast approaching. As you can see that churches spring up every day with different doctrines (good and bad) and all this must be in order for the word of God to be fulfilled.
