My ANC check BP, weight, blood, urine, protein in urine too, the doctors measure the tommy(they always have taperule) and one other thing they put in the tommy to check baby heartbeat

Mine doesn't do most of the above for now. Even that baby heartbeat check is not done. Maybe at a later stage shaa but I will try and ask the doctor. Thanks a lot

They should atleast check urine, blood is not easy and not necessary at every anc visit but at least urine should be checked. Most time urine and blood pressure will indicate if there is any issue. if both urine and blood pressure are off (though most times this will be accompanied by some symptoms) then the Dr may request additional tests

Are those things listed up supposed to be Checked at every appointment? I'm 24+.

I tell you oo, plugging the pump to the breast always get me thinking. Maybe that's why many mums buy manual as naija light no steady (fluctuations up and down) . If the thing has battery it will be very good ooo

I asked because apart from the day I registered that I conducted all tests, subsequent checks has been weight and BP and when I get to c the doctor, he asks if I have any complaints which I don't have mostly and asks If I have my routine drugs and measures my tommy. That's aside the days I took TT

Cappo i dey tell you seriously a big NO, it could actually serve as backup when there is no electricity especially if the electric pump doesn't have battery option but not the sole pump option for expressing

I've been wanting to ask questions about that electric pump? I've read good reviews about it but I use to think weird abt it like "make e no dey shock person"

I wont advise you skip ANC appointments, especially if it is 1ce in 4 weeks, somethings get to be picked up during routine checks that may not even have bothering symptoms, LBP, HBP, protein in urine, anemia etc, just go let them certify you okay better to be safe than sorry.

The once in 4 weeks routine check in my clinic is BP and weight check ooo

mama nah u go make me laugh oo as a FTM I didn't know I will be paying for consolation fee again after paying for antenatal was going to hospital often and these people unknownly to me was adding my consolation fee together On my head

Lol, I'm a FTM too but after consulting, the doctor will tell me to pay consultation fee to the Cashier.. They even told me earlier when I made enquiries sef... I can imagine how the woman would be looking at you sef, it would have been better if it was a man

She is exactly the opposite and if you see her you won't even believe. She's slim with flat Tommy o and pretty you won't know she has children already though uneducated. She wants one more child and that's why she has been bothered

Finally gathered courage to use pregnacare today even tho I'm 18weeks gone, fear still dey catch Me. I've been restless since morning that I took it sef.
Reason is that I lost my last pregnacy at 4weeks (quite early) a day after using pregnatone (maybe I used it too early, it might not even be as a result of the drugs sef).

Now that am pregnant again i felt maybe all this oyibo pregnancy strong drugs isn't for me. But the normal hospital routine drugs was making my heart palpitate soooo much and I had to stop them and was using only forlic acid. Asked all the young mother's and pregnant women around me and they all said they use pregnacare so I Decided to buy it.

Atleast at 4months the baby should be strong enough for the drugs nah. Plus I asked my doctor if I could use it and she maliciously said 'i don't know oo, it's a personal decision for you to make, nah ur baby and then she said, imagine u have money to buy a 5k drugs when u didn't pay for your last consultation fee


Anyways End of rant. God help me.

Its the last line of the rant that is making me roll on the floor... Don't be scared to take your routine drugs though the ones given at the hospital are precise in measurements according to what we need here but pregnacare too is fine though some say some of the nutritional req are lower than what we require here. All in all, baby is fine

Mmmmm,you see this mother when,ko easy rara. May God help us to reap the fruits of our labour. Breast pump has been frustrating itself,I ordered a single manual pump thinking,the one I had was faulty buy now I know that pumping milk is not as easy as I thought. I never had any reason to do this in my previous pregnancies cos I wasn't working but now that am in school,I have to. I have resumed because I have exams in few weeks time and I wish to breastfeed my DH exclusively like her brothers but it's not looking achievable as what I pump is not much.
Pls any help or I should buy formula? If only I can do 3 months exclusive for her. I leave her with my mum while I go to school.

It seems the electric pump is really better than the manual one. I remember how my sis then would press and press and press the manual something.. If you can get the electric pump, there's one that is double sef for the two breast at the same time. It is a little expensive but if it won't strain your pocket, get it but if it will, I'll suggest you get formula (the quantity of formula you will get from that same money is plenty)

I know a woman who said she hasnt menstruated for 2 yrs now and she has never done family planning. Been to health care many times and she has been referred for scan severally which shows all Is well internally. What could then be wrong with her?

I was making a dress for me this afternoon and after cutting, I was checking what the remaining material would do for unborn baby oo chaiii... Even hubby is not left out, he's been praying baby comes 9th May his birthday that he has special gift for her while I want baby in April.

I'm good ooo, the body is just somehow at times. Also feeling pain in my right pelvic bone but it us well. To take prenatals nko, that is war on its own because the spirit is willing but the condition does not agree.

Mamas please I have a question about weight gain. I feel I'm gaining too much weight. When I registered for ANC, I was weighing 60kg, 4 weeks later 65kg a d another 4 weeks later (today) 70kg . I've heard and read of weight gain all through pregnancy but I'm scared for myself. I started gaining weight in pregnancy and that was what even announced me, I don't eat much except those few times I had serious hunger pangs which later subsided. Sometimes I even go to bed without dinner though I eat plenty plenty fruits. I'm scared of increasing to 75kg in the next 4 weeks, am I okay like this cos if I keep in this was I might break the scale
