If there were tribes, how all of a sudden all the tribes in the south are Igbos,or are you telling me Ijaws,Urhobos,Bini,Itsekiri,Esan etc etc came out of Igbo language? . Mr man something tells me yo still a teenage that less indept knowledge on history, now let me explain things to u and the other guy chuksyblinks or whatever, this map we are all arguing about has two region the Igbo speaking region and the rest of the south south, it has been demarcated by the dotted lines u see in the middle, like I av always said, it up to any other tribe to join the Igbo or not, Igbo have their own lands. igbos are born survivalist no matter how bad they will always find away. |

Chai this guy, I tire for u oh!, I thought u said if Nigeria were to break u wouldn't want anything to do with the igbos BT ur Niger delta republic. And I ask again is it the Niger delta that IMO state and abia state belong to or do we have another Niger delta or will the other Igbo region found in ur Niger delta republic be allowed to stay with u guys, then if ur ansa is NO. I propose ur shut the hell up and think of a name to call ur country. I was speaking about Niger delta and yo showing me the map of delta state ( how is the two of them related). if u want to talk of country without the igbos, I advice u look for a map that exclude the Igbo speaking region in that map and call it what ever name u want to call it. igbos can stand alone. |

fombadi: Igbos and land. Claiming innocent peoples land, communities, culture etc etc etc..... we know this only ends on the internet. But when are you guys claiming Iraq and Pakistan?.
If this so called map of 1903 has any credibility, who created this map,was it not same colonial masters? They joined Southern Nigeria to Northern Nigeria, also In this case they joined Niger Delta to the East.
For your information if Nigeria is ever going to breakup we Niger Deltans will 100% go on our own, we have nothing in common with Igbo people same way Igbos have nothing in common with Hausas. Stop adding yourselves to us,Niger Delta rebuke any association with Igbos in Jesus name Amen. We are a unique people with the right to self determination. Mr man I understand ur wailing, when u talk about Niger delta hope IMO and abia and the other Yoruba state that produce oil is not among cos these community belong in the Niger delta area, BT if it the south south yo talking about den I demand u draw a map excluding all Igbo speaking territory, because no Igbo speaking territory will become a minority in ur south south country, and when it comes to ur Niger delta country Igbo will still be the majority. senseless post. ATERI: David Cameron took a gamble and it is almost certainly going to lead to the end of the United Kingdom. Only gamble when all other options have failed, my brother. am not going to brag or anything but I can bet my everything on that fact that I won't fail, reason being check out Nigeria today everyone is out to milk the country dry they are preping up for the that break up nobody have the interest about the country at heart, because after Nigeria they have some where else to go. BT when tribes as big as the Igbo and Yoruba and Hausa fulanis become a nation or country that stands on their own u can't milk ur people dry nah, where u wan run go, check out countries like who exist as a singular unit (tribe language culture) like Denmark Poland France England Swiss even Swaziland cannot be left out.u can only make policies that will benefit ur people and implement it with that same people, and again why I feel it important that every tribe become it own country is the fact that most languages in Africa are at the verge of going extinct, BT with a country with ur tribesmen and ur language as the lingual franca of that country, even those that travelled outside will be forced to keep the fire of the language burning, cos one day no matter how long they stay away they are bound to return home. |

yea I agree, most of the commentator here are only trying to defend the Yoruba tribe, if Jonathan had be elected into power and the northerner had gone ahead to carry out their threat those who will benefit will be the south.maybe we would have be called the republic of southern Nigeria. the proceeds from the sale of mineral resources would have been allocated between the three region which also produces oil. we have everything to make southern Nigeria great, I think the time is right to propel a united south nigeria.
OPINION POLL:- If you are giving the mandate to name southern Nigeria, what name do u think u will be proud of,and that will be suitable for it to bear?. |

ATERI: Op started well only to devalue the piece towards the end. North may have all those resources, but the fact is that the Niger Delta region has been sustaining Nigeria since the 70s. From 1979 till 1999 Northerners were in total control of Nigeria, and they looted the treasury to such an extent that Nigeria becomes a failed state.
Let me tell Biafrans that none of them can be more intelligent than Ojukwu. What that means is that they need to pursue their reforming ambitions differently. In a democratic system, a referendum is an inferior decision-making process, that is why elections are relied upon. As the Op has pointed out, you never know what secession would give you in the final analysis. There is no evidence to support the view that a nation can only do well by becoming smaller. Granted, Norway and Sweden were one and the same country before ditto Belgium and the Netherlands, but I don`t think their separation was the main reason why they are doing fine today. The unification of East and West Germany has contributed enormously to making Germany the king of Europe. And it was after Hong Kong was added to China that China becomes an economic super power. It`s said that a pessimist would see difficulty in every opportunity and an optimist would see opportunity in every difficulty. The size and population of our country should not be blamed for our backwardness, let`s blame our leaders. Why was South-West region able to provide free education to university level between 1979 and 1983 and South-East couldn`t? Who should one blame for this, the North? Secession may and may not lead to a better Igboland it a gamble the Igbos are willing to take, people with like mind either help something grow or kills it with their idea. |

HopeAtHand: This map u uploaded doesn't mean much. Many a time, the colonials do not carry out holistic research, they just grouped ethnicities based on seemingly similar linguistics, which itself is based purely on assumptions. In critical analysis, one wil find out that the primary reason the british grouped Ikwerre together with Igbo was because it is easier to administer both as a whole and not necessarily because they felt Ikwerre was Igbo.
Thank you for the mention. the map said Igbo Speaking or didn't it. a region is linguistically recognized by the Amount of people speaking a particular language, that according to the English. just as the majors were Hausa Fulani of the north, their case was simple because they had one central head which is the emir, same for the Yoruba. but in the case of the igbos though they were not binded by a central head but by linguistic and similar traditions. |

Olabestonic001: You don't understand for now but you'll get it in the event of a breakup. You'll never understand implications till you get one. If Biafra comes during PMB's regime, the consequences will be colossal for Igbos. This is because we'll know that hatred of one Daura man caused the collapse of Nigeria and Igbos will be haunted by such for decades on no end. We might make all the mouths now but just wait and see. Never underestimate the prowess of a man that is calculative. you are indirectly saying that Biafra won't be a success and the Igbos will begin to blame itself for causing the break up of Nigeria due to their hate for buhari. Mr man the igbos do not hate anyone hating people is bad for business, however the Igbo are a group of people that doesn't like to be governor by annoy asides them self or if they are to let anyone governor them, it will be in a case were by power will quickly return to them. they are too big to be undermine just as someone said the other day that the Igbo are immature to rule, I say u should let them go. if they survive or not it up to them |
Politics › Re: What Can Nigeria Learn From The BREXIT Debacle? by OMAR12: 9:02am On Jul 02, 2016 |
Olabestonic001: Igbos did not survived with £20 according to your insinuations. Igbo survived because Nigeria let them. Igbo has access to a market of over 120million people and they take advantage of that. If the govt of those over 120million people decides to control in-flows of people from SE, you'll understand better that Ndigbo need Nigeria even than Nigeria needs her. Today, a sense of utopia might be building due to some perceived successes built majorly on the platform of a large market force Ndigbo explore and exploit but immediately they seek for their "divorce" they'll loose the market, be repatriated home, apply as immigrant and all such stuffs. Soon, you guys will know life after divorce is more than freedom- it has its downside which interestingly is the "Stay Power" of Ndigbo in Nigeria; the big market. so yo saying Nigeria gave them the idea on how to invest the 20pounds bah. Nigeria could have stop the in flow of people from the then eastern region that is indirectly telling the world that they are not need and they should stay in their country which is Biafra, that wouldn't have stopped them from making great strides, there are other country to go to like cameroon. so u saying igbos need the Nigerian market is a big lie, cause after the igbos had left the country the odua will also leave, living us with a broken Nigeria. |
Politics › Re: What Can Nigeria Learn From The BREXIT Debacle? by OMAR12: 8:46am On Jul 02, 2016 |
Olabestonic001: let's see it this way: in a divorce, there's always a bad-blood. Go and ask Croatia and Serbia. If Ndigbo succeed in causing a divorce of Nigeria, they'll be worst off in the region. They'll have gotten a country out of hate and hate would never depart their land. After Brexit, UK will never be the same again. Immediately the queen pass away, UK will loose its influence permanently and would become like the once great country Portugal. In the advent of a breakage of Nigeria, Igbo will loose her free movement in Nigeria. For now, you won't understand that. But, Imagine loosing a market of over 110million people out of bigotry. Don't think Nigeria will have a good relationship with a rebellious broken state. It will be very bitter. Everything will always be done to undermine their state of utopia (by sheer number of the existing structure). I hate the structure we're practicing but hate will ensure it becomes messier than you can ever imagine. And FYI, China will be glad to take the place of the bitter Biafrans in commerce. what is this one saying like Nigeria is the only country in Africa, have u forgotten that Igbo trade everywhere and there is ECOWAS free movement. the same way out suppose Libyan herdsmen libyanized their way into Nigeria, u think after the break igbos won't be allowed free movement into other part of the suppose then Nigeria. please answer me |

onespecial: British citizens have chosen their fate, it is not in your position to pity them or determine that they have failed already. Britain will only lose Europe market size, nothing else.
Don't bother about us and thank you for your advise, we have our plans.
We had a government in 1967 after Biafran declaration even through the war, so don't underestimate our capabilities. We got our currency, military, government, economy, infact it was a growing ideal state till Gowon came with his war backed by international allies who want to steal and are still stealing from project Ngeria.
Plan for yoruba, u should be ashamed that people who are landlocked are seeking for nationhood while you with all access to the sea want to die in a failed Nigeria. u just said my mind, they already had a structure on how the countries affair was to be runned, and that same structure will be in use till a better one can be agreed upon. |
