avuekwe: For those saying that nigeria's rep For MUA is ugly should go back and check afam's post on page 2 of this thread. That lady is very pretty though the pix didn't do justice to her looks.
Am sorry but the Naija Girl wont be in the top 5, might struggle to be in the Top 10..... She has that "Genevieve" kind of look (I would sh@g anything to get to the top look)

cap28: No,its not the same thing, nigerians are africans and therefore if they monopolise africa and sell a standard of beauty that is african to other africans then they are not doing anything harmful to the self esteem of other africans because it is a standard of beauty that other africans can relate to, in the case of europeans they impose their own standard of beauty on the whole world and anyone who falls short of that standard is regarded as of less value.
Its the same a US magazine is try to monopolise or Colonize the whole world, and a Nigerian Magazine trying to do the same to the whole of Africa....

Both companies are playing the same game but at different levels... if the Magazine was Nigerian owned the Top 30 would have 14 - 16 Nigerian Ladies (from Nollywood) 3 or 4 Ghanaians from Ghollywood, and 1 or 2 picked by lottery... Thats a fact....

A-40:
Webber was never going to be the main guy at RBR! Prior to joining them he had always been a journeyman and an also-ran! Vettel had more upside and had always been the faster driver
Yeah but Webber was the Main man before David Coultard retired but the moment Vettel tried out as a reserve driver at BMW, they realised that they have a gem on their hand and also winning a race with Torro Rosso got Dr Marko to conclude that Vettel would be their new number 1 driver, but I agree with Baby Boy, no other would risk loosing everything and not back the leading driver. Ferrari acted like a desperate monkey, RBR saw it, and decided to threw them a banana, which they jumped at and fell short.

I dont know why most people here are trying to burst a blood vessel over nothing, the fact here is that this was a list compiled by a Magazine, if GQ Magazine compile their own list we would definitely have a different list of names.... I saw a list of most beautiful African Celebs, the list had 97% Nigerian/Ghanaian Nollywood stars common Celebs could be anyone famous... and almost everyone here on (NL) accepted the list, practically saying to the rest of Africa that they dont matter, but the Hypocrisy light flashes up when the list is all White or people from the western world.

Alonso is experience to know that he would lose downforce but doesnt want to end up at the back of the pack, Ferrari are experince enough to know that they would get flagged.

Another brain fart by Ferrari but Alonso thought the WDC is at the end of the Malaysian GP.... its a marathon not a sprint.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Is This Chelsea's Greatest Ever XI? by omar22(m): 12:44pm On Feb 28, 2013
jamp: Please no yabbing. Just give ur best eleven.

Chelsea have had many great players who have graced the team with their presence, winning trophies and playing an integral role in Chelsea's history.

However, who gets the honour of being the greatest players in their positions for Chelsea?

Formation - 4-1-2-1-2

GK - Petr Cech

The big Czech Republic stopper gets my vote for this position. His heroics during last season's success in the Champions League warrants his place in Chelsea's greatest XI.

RB - Ron Harris

Chelsea's longest serving player making a record 795 appearances spread over 19 years. His beloved Chelsea fans nicknamed him 'Chopper' with his feisty challenges, and he'd be our tough-tackling full-back. Part of the 1970 FA Cup winning team and deservedly part of the team.

CB - John Terry (c)

Always been a Chelsea player and will always be a Chelsea legend. Chelsea's current captain has been an inspiration to fans around the globe. Puts his body on the line every single game and will always live as a Chelsea great.

CB - Marcel Desailly

Also was a Chelsea captain, the Frenchman gained the nickname the 'Rock' for his strength in the air and in the tackle. Scored some important goals and was part of the 2000 FA Cup winning side.

LB - Ashley Cole

Consistently been called the best left back in the world and has proven it at Chelsea over the last 7 years at Stamford Bridge. Coming from London rivals Arsenal, Cole had a job to do to win over the Chelsea fans, but his superb performances at left-back took care of that.

CDM - Claude Makelele

One of the greatest of his time and was incredible during his stint at Chelsea. The Blues have longed to replace the great Frenchman - John Obi Mikel is the most recent man to attempt this. In my opinion, irreplaceable in midfield.

CM - Frank Lampard

Closing in on Bobby Tambling's all-time top goalscoring record, Frank Lampard has been an integral part of Chelsea's success over the last 12 years. He scores the important goals, including the famous two goals away at Bolton to seal Chelsea's first Premiership crown for 50 years.

CM - Dennis Wise

A toss up between Wise and Di Matteo, but the former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise gets the nod. He is fondly looked upon by the Chelsea faithful for never say die attitude and hard-hitting tackles. The small centre midfielder has scored some memorable goals as well - the equaliser at the San Siro being the most memorable.

CAM - Gianfranco Zola

Widely regarded to be Chelsea's greatest ever player, the little Italian magician made number 25 his own. Brought from Parma at age 30, he quickly made a good impression with some memorable goals in a seven year stint at Chelsea. Goals like his winner against Stuttgart in 1998 and a back-heel goal against Norwich will be remembered for years to come.

ST - Peter Osgood

The late great Peter Osgood is a Chelsea legend. Scoring important goals to win the 1970 FA Cup against Leeds on a replay, he will never be forgotten and will always be the King of Stamford Bridge.

ST - Didier Drogba

The Ivorian will always be remembered for his heroics in Munich. Clinching a last minute equaliser to take the game to extra time and then scoring the winning penalty to cap Chelsea's greatest night in their history. For that and many other things, I think he undoubtedly deserves a spot.

Manager - Jose Mourinho

The 'Special One' is Chelsea's most successful manager of all time winning a total of five major trophies in a three-and-a-half year spell as Chelsea manager. Now reportedly in line for a dramatic return to Stamford Bridge, I'm sure the Chelsea faithful would welcome him back.

I would remove Dennis Wise and replace him with either Roberto Di Matteo or Gus Poyet..
TV/MoviesRe: Congolese Actress, Rachel Mwanza To Represent Africa At The Oscars 2013 by omar22(m): 12:26pm On Feb 28, 2013
eddy1977: Yes Genevieve is way better than Sophie okenedo. Omotola is a way way better actress than Halle berry.
Just give omotola sometimes at the feet of Tyler Perry or Morgan Freeman.let's say six months.let her hit the gym and buff up her core, tone up her tighs.let her work with a good script and a good film director.she will outshine your Halle berry.

Genevieve can take some yoga classes and get a little tune up from veteran actresses like Jodie foster or Angelina Jolie. Give Genevieve just that chance and she will outshine most household names.

Nigeria has great actresses.but no coaches,no mentors,no quality equipments,no directors,no interest in excellence. These actresses bury themselves by living between Lagos and London. They should learn from idris elba and jim Carey. You wanna maximize your talent, move to Atlanta, move to Vegas, move to los Angeles. Dont stay in Nigeria.unless you don't care about your career.
What a load of Rubbish, Sophie spoke with an East African accent in Hotel Rwanda, Genevieve cannot speak with a Gambian Accent in Mirror boy.... So you have to be at the feet of tyler Perry before you become good, Genevieve has over 10 yrs plus experience and she is still not up to scratch... I would like to see Omotola do Halle berry's role in Sword fish...

Yes i said it. Omotola is a better actress. I am not saying ot because she is nigerian.
Halle berry has had greater opportunities to work with the best.pretty much like a leech feeding off of other people s succes. Working with great storylines and excellent directors. Of course her mixed race helped her stand out to be given roles.
They are millions of opportunities that she could go and audition for, the roles Tyler Perry's movies are competed (Audition) for... if she's that good then she could apply for it.
TV/MoviesRe: Congolese Actress, Rachel Mwanza To Represent Africa At The Oscars 2013 by omar22(m): 3:26pm On Feb 27, 2013
I hate it when people are quick to play the slave card when comparing Hollywood to Nollywood, the fact here is that people are quick to reject everything thats Hollywood, but they would accept Nollywood copying everything from Hollywood.... The truth does taste bitter but its the truth... is Genevieve better than Sophie Okenedo ? NO, is Omotola better than Halle Berry in acting? NO whats slavery about it?

I guess in your tiny world we should stop Nigerian footballers going abroad, once they leave 9ja we should disown them

Car TalkRe: At What Age Did You Buy Your First-Car And How Much Then? by omar22(m): 12:59pm On Feb 26, 2013
Siena: My first car was a brand new Volkswagen Beetle. It was a birthday present when I turned 17. I lived in Benin-City back then.

The first car I purchased with my own money was a 1983 Audi 80 GL 3-speed auto, when I returned to the UK back in 1990. I paid the lowly sum of £50 for her, and ran her for two years.
Siena can you please settle this
