solomon111: lampard plays for himself, yet he has more assists than xavi.
First and foremost Lampard plays in a more advance or forward role and Xavi plays from deep...

Now tell me how many Assist does Lampard have from open play? yeah he takes all the corners or freekick and when you have Drogba, Terry, Ivanovic, Ballack, Carvalho or Gallas who are powerful in the air why wont his assist stats go through the roof... Xavi can control the flow of the game.... Lampard is not bothered how the attack starts he want to be at the end of it..

Shynumuolu: cant nigeria remove issa hayatou as d president of caf. His tenure has never helped the progress of d game in nigeria. Remember henry nwosus disallowed goal in morrocco 1988; victor ikpebas disallowed pen in 2000
Nwosu's goal was off side

Ikpeba's goal would needed a goal mouth technology...... not many knew that the ball has crossed the line until we all saw the replay....

.............

Didnt Nigeria win Gold at the Atalanta Olympics with an offside goal?

Yeah the Argentine said Italian ref Pier Luigi Colina did it as a revenge on Argentina for knocking out Italy at the 1990 WC

J12: Lampard, Scholes and Gerrard have more assists and goals than Xavi. Xavi plays in a good team, That's all
Midfielders are not measured with goals

Lampard plays for himself

Gerrard plays for the camera or attention

Scholes is a poor-man's Xavi

Sagamite: Jose Mourinho, mate!

You want a small distance between lines when the strategy was to utilise Mikel's long range passes?

They were running like headless chickens, you mean by creating more than double the chances of the opposition and dominated the game until the red card?
We were a man short when you are compact that forces Burkina to push up and leave space behind. Yes we dominated the game because Burkina Faso offered nothing until we went a man down, if our team were more composed, choose the right option or not been to selfish Nigeria would have beaten Burkina out of sight....
SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by omar22(m): 1:13pm On Jan 25, 2013
thegoodjoehunt: Every great team of the past played good football. Not this park bus, kick and hush football. Even Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. At the final of the '74 World Cup, it reached a time when people asked which side were the Netherland side because of the way the German side kept the ball. The Spanish and German side today are maintaining the same pattern of football in all levels of their leagues and age grade competitions. The great teams of the past missed this and that is why I believe the Spanish dominance will continue.
Parking the bus has been around since the 60's Catenaccio formation got Italy the 1982 world cup after beating the best side never win a world cup also beating the current European Champion West Germany, Czechoslovakia beat West Germany at Euro 76 by parking the bus.... Your right about teams of today, England or the English didnt know that the holding (role) player is very important to a team, but because of their arrogance and We know it all attitube most English fans would say its boring they want the ball going at 100mph, I worked a colleague whose son played at one of the Premier League clubs academy, they said anyone below 5"8' is not wanted they want athletes looking like Amazons (Avata) Its hard to sway the Brits and they are not willing to change.
SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by omar22(m): 12:49pm On Jan 25, 2013
I said, their pattern is superior to the English kick and Hush.
Your right with that but its a culture issue and arrogance

the Germans are going that route.
The Germans are not going down that route and Guardiola is managing Bayern Munich and not Germany... Yes Germany has added more possession play but they still play with agression, physical and arial power.

That is why Brazil brought back Scolari.
Brazil still plays their Samba stytle but not the walking pace we used to know and which Nigeria adopted from the 70's, but they play with speed and aggression and more defensive minded, in 2002 Scolari played an orthodox 3 4 3 formation, in 2002 which gave Cafu and Carlos could easily join the attack, and Sweeper Edmilson starts the attack from deep

Yet you guys want Nigeria to move in the English direction. Shocking.
Nigeria used to play the old Brazilian style that Otto Gloria introduced to us in the 70s, yeah it got us the Nations cup in 1980, but the game was so slow, almost at walking pace, the Northern African teams did adopt the English kick and Run because their climate allowed the running but now they are trying add possession football to their game but NIgeria went from the slow possession football to kick and rush footie this is because we dont prepare properly for tournaments

You were spot on..................... they were in 6s and 7s running around like headless chickens and the Coach allowed them, no instructions, the distance between thw strikers and defence was so huge whereas they were meant to be compact and make it difficult and the idiot who tried to do a drag back made the opponents day, which party safety first he doesnt understand?

SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by omar22(m): 10:25am On Jan 25, 2013
Did I say that Spain will dominate forever? Even stated that when teams start playing like Barca, they will be able to catch up with them. That shows, I don't think they will dominate forever.

Comcerning Ronaldo's performance, how does that stop Neymar from being Special. No footballer has done what Messi has done in football, does that stop Ronaldo from being Special?
Oh common!!!!! The great (Real Madrid team) Galatico of the 50's that had Di Stafeno and Puskas dominated european football in the 50's winning 5 European cups in a row.... in the end teams stopped them, in the 60s Benfica and both Milan teams. English football dominated Europe from the mid 70's to the mid 80's and if not for the Hysel ban they would have dominated European football into the 90s. The Tiki Taka football Barcelona adopted now was brought over from Ajax by Johan Cruyff.. and in the early 70's Ajax sweept everyone aside they were more dominant than Barcelona today but Bayern found a way to stop Ajax and Germany found a away of beating the "total football side of Holland" and German football is more machine like!!! What type of football did Liverpool played in the 70's? 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 84 European cup were won by English teams (They had a team in the final of 76 and 85)

I would say this again very Barcelona's Tiki Taka would be stopped and stopped for good

CelebritiesRe: Shocking Earnings Of Yoruba Movie Stars by omar22(m): 3:33pm On Jan 22, 2013
speedyboi: For ur dreams abi? Smh.

@op.not just yoruba genre, nollywood as a whole. Actors like mercy Johnson and tonto dike earn peanuts.I can tell u they earn less than 100,000(they earn around 50k per role).

How you know those who earn high amounts is based on the kinda productions they feature in. Ie. Those who acts in cinema releases gets paid reasonably....but those alaba favourite actors...lol...I can't laugh.

Contrary to what you said, omotola earns upto 5million in a movie. That's why she's the most paid actress in nollywood. And that's why u can't just see her in any Bs productions, they can't afford her.
Genny also warns upto 3million. I don't know about the other actors.

But I know one thing for sure, all those actors that are popular (mj, tonto etc...yoruba or English or hausa) are wretched while the professional actors(omoni oboli, nse etim, ireti Doyle, funlola aofiyebi etc) are paid well. Fullstop
Omotola only earnt N5m ($25k) for her role in IJE (and Genevieve) only because that movie had sponsors backing the production.

I could remember a Nigerian actress in an interview with a UK base Nigerian radio station..... The lady said she gets around N20k to N30k a movie and she has an agent that would take his cut. Thats they do so many home movies.

Whereas I has seen where a Unilag student got almost a N1m just to do a 5 minutes amateur p*rn movie

SportsRe: When Did You Stop Watching Super-Eagles Matches? by omar22(m): 3:15pm On Jan 22, 2013
kayLion: Hi all, sequel to this thread www.nairaland.com/1170471/not-being-able-watch-nigerias .

I was reading comments and laughing because as for me i have stopped watching Nigerian matches for a while now...Growing up, i had no choice than to accept Super Eagles cos popsy holds them high, also from a family dominated by boys, its football or nothing, i remember celebrating wildly JJ Okocha's equalizing freekick against Cameroun at 2004 Nations Cup, but fast forward 4years, Eguaveon led the Super Eagles to the nations cup, we lost at Quarter final (or was it Semi final) to Ivory coast, a debatable goal by Didier Drogba.

Eagles got home and what happened to Eguaveon?, he was promptly sacked..I for one find it ridiculous and since then, i have decided to ignore eagles and laugh at their failure...would love to know your views pls
It was a Perfect goal from DD
