Nice. Anything to engender accountability should be embraced by all and sundry. smiley

After verification of the claims, it would be nice to see the general public allowed access to the records. It is the only way such declaration would have positive impact on our polity and quality of governance.

I don't know how true the allegations are. But as you agree , bh fighters should be killed even without trial.
But we have to be very mindful of the allegations of AI. I really don't know their motived. OBJ wasn't charged with wsr crimes when he razed down Odi village. George Bush wasn't charged when he invaded Iraq and killed innocent children.

I dont like people with double standards, but all the same, we should try any soldier we find guilty and deal with them in accordance to our own law.
Yes. According to our laws. And just as you said, it has always been my opinion that folks like George Bush Jnr and Tony blair should be standing trial for war crimes. Anything short of that is sheer hypocrisy.

I don't know, but it seems to me this guy, Banga Lee, and 2 Baba are the only Nigerian celebrities with something upstairs. The others might be talented but when it comes to intelligence, they are simply too daft.

Oritse Femi is the worst of them all, going about begging little girls to visit him like some bone headed street hustler.

Politics › Re: How Nigerian, AU Officials Maltreated, Cheated Ebola Volunteers In Liberia by omenka(m): 1:07pm On Jun 04, 2015
This is really heartbreaking. I hope someone brings this to the President's notice and have him take drastic action to address the situation.

Pay them their due entitlements and have those who oversaw the program give account of what happened to the monies owed them. It is the only way other would-be volunteers could be encouraged to make such bold sacrifices.

The scourge of corruption must be fought from top to bottom.
Politics › Re: President Buhari To Probe Amnesty International Report On Torture by omenka(m): 12:50pm On Jun 04, 2015
It is the least he could do honestly. We all understand in war, there must be collateral damages but such damages must not be DELIBERATE.

I'm all for killing those terrorists even without trial but totally against our soldiers rounding up and wiping out entire villagers in the name of fighting terrorists. I watched one of the videos on how the civilian JTF distinguish Boko Haram fighters from civilians and almost came close to tears with the realisation even myself could be tagged a terrorist going by their methods- you are stripped and beaten until you confess, and if you don't, they say you are strong headed because you are a terrorist!! Can you imagine the horror! It implies that whether or not you confess, you are dead!

What some of our men in uniform exhibit at the battle front they do in lesser measure in our cities when they go to banks or filling stations, or man check points. They harass and molest civilians and even police sometimes.

I bet the probe would only go to fish out the bad eggs amongst them and let those who know just how to do the job continue to do so for the glory and honour of this great nation.

So help us God.

So, even though Dokpesi got billions of naira from PDP for the hate campaign on Buharis' person, he still can't pay his workers. Pathetic.
By the time Tinubu's case comes full cycle, not only would he be unable to pay workers, he'd have to start selling other properties of his to feed his family.

In Nigeria, the law against
corrupt practices is too light and I will blame it on the executive and national assembly members who have refused to stiffen it.
Imagine, the morons hurriedly passed 46 bills into law in 10 minutes. There was never a time
when they even considered ammending punishment for financial malpractice because they are also involved-bunch of morons. I pray
"the no business as usual" spirit of PMB won't die. As for the fool who said he doesn't
understand English; that's a fat lie! Speaking a language is even more difficult than understanding it and it will be difficult for him work in a banking environment without
understanding English. There are several primary 6 holders/security guards who can communicate in English even though they might not be fluent. He was just trying to frustrate court proceedings and he was a fool for thinking that will work.
Doing that is like putting a gun to their own heads and having someone who doesn't like them have access to the trigger.

Now, she says over 1billion of the sum had been paid this "German" and deliveries have yet to be made while the contract stands revoked. My question is, what now happens to that sumhuh
Politics › Re: 5 Reasons Why PMB Must Look To The Completion Of Ajaokuta Steel Company by omenka(m): 7:59am On Jun 04, 2015
The revival of that company is key to the realisation of our dreams of industrial revolution in this country. Its benefits are simply inexhaustible. I hope Buhari does something in this direction.

These once read something about the Russian businessmen to whom it was concessioned looting the place. Think it became an object of a diplomatic spat between both countries, but in the end, our government, being as weak as it was, had to step back. Only God know what has been going on since then.

Now you just have to wonder who to believe. First it was PMB owned a mansion in Abuja, now its he was evicted for failing to pay rent.

I really believe now that "the irony of the information age is that it has given celebrated credence to uninformed opinion".

Any and everybody with internet can just come online and post rubbish without verifying or having in dept knowledge about what he or she is posting. Opinions flying left, right and center.

PMB will shut this people selling falsehood when he starts doing the very thing GEJ didn't do!.
You don't have to wonder whom to believe. When you look at the periods/time of the publications, you'd know who the liar is.

Politics › Re: Is There Anything Wrong With Probing Jonathan's Government? by omenka(m): 7:40am On Jun 04, 2015
There is absolutely nothing wrong in doing so. It is what most well meaning citizens (elders and youths alike) of this country have been calling for, and it is not predicated on what is happening in Rivers state- that would mean being petty.

The fraud that went on unchecked in the immediate past admin was unprecedented, not even did we witness such in any of the military admins.

The probe must be done in such a manner as to ensure ethnic and religious jingoists don't run to town with their usual boring stories of selective persecution. It must be seen to be just and fair. The precedent must be set to ensure accountability in subsequent governments.

It would be a huge dent on the long lasting image of the President if no one goes to jail over the rot that characterised the immediate past government.

Ps: for those quoting me and hurling insults, you shall remain ignored.

Like I said in that thread, we need to desist, henceforth, from commenting on such threads initiated by these guys. We already know their antics. Our attention is what fuels their passion to pull down the president and his family. They don't mind creating fictitious blogs and twitter handles, wherein they tell their lies, and then upload the same stories from those blogs and social media handles unto the forum, and have our unsuspecting mods give them the publicity they don't deserve.

Seun, Lalasticlala, Ishilove, OAM4J: this goes to show what these guys are turning this great site into. A site for the most vicious lies and half-truths. Nobody is saying Buhari is a saint without blemish, but hell he's an honest man. It is incumbent on you people to do a little research to verify the authenticity of some of these scandalous and libellous stories before giving them such publicity (front-paging), regardless of whom it is about. I don't think when a lawyer comes knocking (which is possible), the disclaimer alone would solve the problem.

I know you have a lot on your hands and can't go verifying every story, but I urge you to take that extra step especially when the story is of a personal and private nature such as the ownership of a "multimillion naira house in Asokoro". This story, published three years ago, only goes to prove how far these PDP supporters would go to smear the image of the president- and for what exactlyhuh

Save this forum from the claws of these sadists I implore you.

God bless you all.

Politics › Re: Gbawe, Berem, Omenka, Egift, Obiagelli: Now That Buhari Is In by omenka(m):
@Sirniyeh. There are countless number of folks here who fought graciously and made huge sacrifices to ensure we arrive at where we are today, some of whose monikers I can't remember. It wasn't easy but in the end, it was worth every single kilobyte.

Now, phase one of the struggle has been achieved, what is left to do is encourage the government to deliver on her promises, ensure the gen pop is kept abreast of the activities of government, and make sure she TAKES RESPONSIBILITY for her failures, an element totally lacking in the immediate past admin. They never accepted responsibility for ANYTHING but rather passed the buck with every single instance where they were found wanting.

In our long struggle to get those guys out, we ensured as much as we can to focus our criticisms on salient issues such as the policies of the government since those were what really had remarkable impact on the lives of the citizens. We proferred solutions where we can, but like I said, we kept our eyes on the ball- government policies and governance.

Now, when you try to juxtapose that with what obtains in the "opposition" we have on the forum today, you would see why some of these monikers that were very much active in the recent past have chosen to severely cut back on their activity on the forum. How does one respond to threads such as:

Is Buhari a Sunni or Shia Muslim?

Buhari is from the same Muslim sect as ISIS.

A suicide bomber screamed "sai Buhari" before blowing himself up.

Buhari and vice visit two different muslim countries at the same time putting Nigeria in limbo.

Aisha Buhari's wrist watch costs 10million.

Buhari's cows are malnurished, is that how he intends to make Nigeria become?

Buhari not properly received by David Cameron in London.

Why is Buhari constantly running to the UK? Is he going to stash away stolen funds?

Why hasn't Buhari visited victims of Maiduguri Blast and Anambra tanker explosion?

Buhari's "I am for everybody and for nobody" statement was plagiarised.

Buhari's daughter chases out customers from a shopping mall so she could shop alone.

Why didn't Buhari declare his assets publicly (even when what he declared are yet to be verified by the CCB). etc, etc, etc... All these when the president had even yet to step foot in his office!

These are but a few of the kinds of threads that the flood the board with thereby making it impossible for us to have intelligent arguments/debates here, just as we had in the past. The best way, it seems, to treat these guys is simply to ignore them, hence the noticeable absence of the guys you mentioned. I stayed away myself for a coupla days but resurfaced today after I was mentioned by passingshot.

Expect to see a continuation of their absence if the trend continues. I'm expecting folks like mynd44, to enter ghostmode as well anytime soon. It is needless joining issues with such unintelligent and sadistic fellows. They can have the board to themselves while we savour the goodies of the admin on the mainstreet, which is what Nigerians care about and not online rants.

Do have a lovely night.
