[quote author=Okija_juju]So!! How do they do the testing?! Being found positive for Marijuana or cocaine is not an offence the last time hecked, but rather possession is.. So the police would be stopping people at random and taking blood samples or what?! This is rubbish at its finest.. Alcohol you can check using the breathelizer machines, but cocaine requires blood testing, blood testing requires consent or a warrant.. How would the government also stop hypertensive drivers?! Does fashola know that even cough syrup is a harzardous drug for drivers?! So how would the police know the difference between a visually impaired driver and a well sighted driver?!

our leaders can sabi reason like plumbers sometimes..

Politics › Re: Lagos Deports Anambra Refugees by omiobo: 7:44am On Sep 26, 2012
saintneo: I don't understand the legality of this action. Let us ignore the issue of being Anambra or not.

Does Lagos State Government has the right to deport Nigerians from Lagos?
What legal data does Lagos have classify these people as non-Lagosians?
On what criteria did the Lagos decide to deport people from Lagos?
When did Lagos State start its immigration policy and immigration commission?
Do Nigerians require PASSPORT or VISA to visit Lagos?

Now responding to the tribalistic post.
Having lived in the Lagos for two years before relocating to a more relaxed part of the country, I must say that Anambra people and Ndigbo in general are numerous in population Lagos and they are gainfully employed in businesses. On one of my visits to the trade-fair complex, I noticed that all the shops I visited where owned/operated by Igbo people except for two - one by an Efik-Ibibio and the other was a Chinese. On another note, most of the less able people in Lagos (if not all of them)are not of Igbo origin; consequently, I find it beyond logical comprehension that Lagos State will convey less able people in nine buses to Anambra State without proper identification.

If Lagos is a big city as it claims, it should have started a program to rehabilitate or support these individuals rather than deporting them to Anambra state.
Why would a state accommodate non indigenes are that liabilties to the state? Some people cannot be rehabilitated, they need to be deported to their state fast fast. Just thank God you are not one of them. And if you talk too much you will be deported. gringringrin

Remii: These hard measures are neccessary but I am not sure that Sanusi is going about it the right way. These govt made billionires will just close shops, lay off workers and worsen already precarious economic conditions.
What do you expect? Lay off na sure banker nah whether sanusi ban them or not. If sanusi know act, people stiill go suffer am because na people money na him dem te do biz nah. Don't you know that all these govt made billionaires knows nothing about biz but dirty politics. They are all behind nigeria downfall.

Whatever needs to be done needs to be done fast. First, who is at fault, the bank or the debtor? I thought before a bank lend money out to companies they will need to appraise the companies to determine their creditworthiness. Beside,if there is any default in payment of the loan, the agreement should stipulate how bank can recover its loan. Abi which kin wuruwuru mago mago business transaction be this?

Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by omiobo: 10:14am On Sep 24, 2012
Cyberknight: Looking at all these pictures reminds me of Ohakim days when there were snazzy adverts on CNN about Imo State, obviously propaganda stunts designed to attract people and cover up the fact that the government was in fact doing nothing. These pictures are just the same thing. The only thing those pictures prove is that the current goovernor is as good at disseminating propaganda as the last one was. I was in Owerri 2 weeks ago, and the real fact is that Owerri is a disaster zone, and people are lamenting loudly.

First of all, the roads are in a serious mess. For some reason, the governor came up with a strange building program which wasnt well thought through and has ended by leaving half of the town's roads very similar to how it must have looked after the war. Contractors came and poured red sand on the roads, painted themblack and went away. The rains came and wrought havoc and now many streets are cut off, erosion is eating away many areas in Prefab and Federal Housing, etc.

The governor has come up with a plan to sell off the state general hospitals to a Northern consortium. Civil servants protested loudly and the plan was temporarily shelved. There is also a plan to collect ALL the primary schools in Owerri into one vast compound. Sounds laudable, but the whole point of government funded education is to provide access to education where you live. Imagine if all the primary schools in Lagos were located at one point, say at Unilag for example, and all the primary school pupils in Lagos all have to come to Akoka everyday.

And of course, the Imo State Govt has learnt the lesson from the Lagos State Givt, and is imposing all sorts of new taxes and levies on the suffering people. There is a "borehole" tax, to be paid by people who have boreholes. Does this sound reasonable? Isnt it the givernment's responsiblity to provide water, not to tax peeople who have suffered enough and have had to provide amenities for themselves? There is also a "rent tax" to be paid by all landlords in Owerri, so of course, lookk forward to a new rent increase in Owerri soon. And so forth.

Like most of the Southeastern states, Imo State is NOT working. What is wrong with the Igbo man, and why are we the worst governed people in Nigeria? Something to do with the old saying "Igbo enweghi eze"?
GBAM!!!

This is nonsense. Absolute nonsense! When will nigerians stop this act of deceit. Imagine one stupid being posting stupid pictures of houses, referring to it as achievement. What we want to know is impact of govt on people not pictures of decorated and painted houses.

No picture of improvement in agriculture
No picture of modern market
No picture of good transportation system
No picture of good roads
No picture of infrastructures e.t.c
