@ Odenigbo Aroli

WTF is wrong with you? How did you get into this argument and why are you insulting the Bini dynasty alongside well-known bigots?
Are you truly an Igbo man or one those claim claim?

CultureRe: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by OneNaira6: 11:06pm On May 26, 2012
Didn't you people have this argument before? did you not get the answer from the bini's on this forum on that last thread? The Bini are not yoruba, they never claimed nor considered themselves as Yoruba. The only place where I've ever witnessed a self-proclaimed "bini" man claiming Yoruba and Edo as the same was on this forum and 100% of those men ended up being Yoruba that pretended to be bini. The Bini spoke already: Their culture, lifestyle, even language differ from yoruba and according to the ones on NL, their connection is more to other ethnicity inside Edo state and SS state. Hapu ha aka (leave them be).

BTW: Judging from the replies on this thread, many of you are unaware Edo state consists more than one ethnic group of which many have no connection to Yoruba historically. Just say Bini rather than Edo

odumchi: Are you referring to me in the bolded?

Anyway, there is no animosity (atleast which I have percieved) between the South Eastern and South Southern Igbo. These terms were not even in existence thiry years ago so they can't be at the heart of any problem.

The only thing that I see is that the Igbo peoples are divided politically; the bulk of the Igbo live in the five South Eastern states while the remainder are scattered in other states. Today, the Igbo (generaly) are trying to look past these artificial borders to progress and are attempting to pave one political road for all Igbo to tread, wether South Eastern or South Southern. However, attitudes like that of the Ikwerre and that of Abagworo make this especially difficult.
No I was not referring to you. It was an error of my fault. I've fixed it.

On the second, I agree. With that type of attitude, the future of Igbo people as in total would always remain shattered. Thank you and onlytruth for providing hope that such attitude is not a common policy among SE. Though I do not want to put him on blast but I hope one day Abagworo realizes it better united than divided.

I've always been in support of Niger-delta republic but don't turn my support into hatred. Why drag anioma and even onitsha into the new nation? Ontisha is not even part of delta, don't be greedy. Asaba is going with the rest of Igbo people. Unless SE Igbo kick us out or una wipe asabians and the rest of anioma out and replace it with other groups is the only way that map will work. Don't be greedy, I support the creation but don't drag my people into it.
PoliticsRe: Will Nigeria Break Up By 2015? by OneNaira6:
Onlytruth: I often frown at "wholesale attacks" against southern minorities on the civil war issue, especially EASTERN minorities, because people like Dede1 should know better about the TRUTH of what happened back then.
Careytommy for example is from Akwa ibom state, and a HUGE chunk of the people from there fought for Biafra and suffered alongside other Biafrans. The Biafran second in command was an Ibibio man. No twisting of history can ever change that. The attack on Careytommy was uncalled for.

As for bbreye, the Ijaw were split too (especially the Eastern Ijaw), so I cannot tongue lash him either.
I wish my brother Dede1 would calm down for once about his views on these groups.
As for the Mid-west, I believe that Biafra failed to do a good job BEFORE the war. The incursion by Biafran special forces (the S- Brigade) was only a defensive offense (after the war had already started), so that is understandable. The strategic damage was done BEFORE the war. Let no one forget that, lest a mistake is repeated.

Every Biafran adult (anyone above 18 years during the war) should make it a DUTY to be very honest about what happened during the war. Today's Nigerian politics shouldn't make anyone twist facts.
I've said my peace.
I agree. My close friend grandfather was an ex-biafran solider therefore I don't think it's right accusing all minorities as betrayers. Its slap to those that fought along side of you by accusing all. IMHO.

I still trying to understand how "will Nigeria break up turn into a civil war story-telling from both sides". Don't you people ever get tired of doing the same thing over and over again on this forum? No matter how much una argue, both sides will always hold onto their side of the history no matter what, there never be a meeting grounds. What use is it to argue over the same thing repeatedly knowing the result will be the same thing as it was last time una argued on that same subject. Na wa ooo!! una never get tired.

Abagworo: As I've said, Southeasterners should plan as Southeasterners and leave any Igbos outside the Southeast unless such groups seek for affiliation.

As for rhino and any other bigot coming here to compare this situation with Itsekiri/Yoruba, they should read history, culture and language well before doing such. Itsekiri is without doubt related to Yoruba but has always had a different identity. No one can show evidence of Ikwerre ethnic nationality prior to 1960s. Itsekiri has been in existence since 16th century.
This is the worst thing I've read on this forum thus far. I wonder what created all the animosity between SE Igbo and the rest of us. SMH!!! While SS Igbo think of and work on improving Igbo as in total without considering anything even though once in a while SE Igbo insult us with ease because of few individuals and also because of those few individuals, FEW INDIVIDUALS, SE would rather draw a wedge from SS Igbo until we seek "affiliation". Fake and real Igbo policy abi? Yet una still wonder why division exist among the community. Sometimes when I read stuff on this forum, I understand what motivated that buffoon named Emeka Esogbue to write his idiotic article.

I don't know what is more painful to watch? Idiots not from our community coming online to speak either on anioma, Onitsha and ikwerre community on this forum all the time or the fact the SE Igbo listen to those 1diot and rather cast themselves away from their own brother because of those 1diots. PoliticsRe: Dr.Ikedife, Past Ohanaeze Ndigbo President-General Condemns Jonathan Over Buhari by OneNaira6: 11:38pm On May 21, 2012
egift: Mazi, as you can personally bear me witness, on Nairaland I have not attacked any Igboman. So when you question my heritage I just let it be. Also I believe Buhari is better that Jonathan if the choice is limited to both. Also I have never heard any particular instance were Buhari specifically hurt any Igboman or a Christian (if there is post it).

On Jonathan, the following stand true for me:
- He is dull, weak and clueless (maybe very corrupt too). Even as Commander In Chief of the entire security apparatus (that IBB, Abacha, etc, used in holding Nigeria spellbound), he Jonathan not only convey helplessness but runs when little kid hit the street with knockouts.

- Jonathan is an Ijaw, me am Igbo. The relationship between us is that we are Nigerians; the same string holds me and a Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, Fulani and the rest of the 300+ ethnic groups in Nigeria. He is not closer than any of them.

- That Jonathan is banging our daughter does not also grant him the right to take away the privileges, opportunities, rights and aspirations of Ndigbo. Ijaw remains a minority group. It amounts to abomination for Ndigbo to go begging them.

- Question: Since Ndigbo invested so much to establish Jonathan in 2011, will Jonathan also put in so much for Ndigbo? NO. Instead the Fisherman cum Zoo-keeper is forming Oliver Twist (asking for more 4yrs).

For me let the best man be elected. 2015 is still far away and should not have been any issue if not Jonathan's disappointments and efforts to squeeze himself into 2015.
The highlighted quote? Which daughter are you talking about? He's wife whose Ijaw like him or the rumor of him and Bianca?

If na the latter, the question follows are you really Igbo or one of those claim claim on NL?
PoliticsRe: President Jonathan's Speech At Enugu Is Treasonable by OneNaira6: 11:13pm On May 21, 2012
egift: Both yourself and others who hoped that by insulting me, is a smart way to hide the impact of a callous utterance by Jonathan, usually fall short to highlight such grammatical discrepancies in my expression. Pathetic, isn't it?

1. Either you did not read what I wrote or chose to ignore it and ask irrelevantly. For the benefit of doubt, read that comment again and consider the additional points below:

- I highlighted the first "Nigerian" meaning the ideal Nigerian
- I also stated that those Jonathan spoke their mind are those that "wish to divide Nigeria". (See the 2nd highlighted text). So is President Jonathan in that category? If not, he should not make such statement.

2. On your second question. Yes, the President said what amount to treason by suggesting that today's challenges might have arose due to the Amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria in 1914. Below are his exact words...emphasis on the bold...
LMFAO.

1.) The so called "ideal Nigerians" are limited. If a referendum is conducted in nigeria, the nation would cease to exist today, a fact well known fact therefore yes he spoke the mind of Nigerians. Anyway I'm okay with letting dreamers dream so dreamer believe your one nigerian is popular in the mind of Nigerians. Excluding North and probably West, everybody wants out.

2.) Reread your own post.
something must have gone wrong along the line from 1914 when the Southern and Northern Protectorate amalgamated till date, stressing that the problem of Nigeria did not start today.

“When the Priest was speaking, I started asking myself – what must have gone wrong from 1914 that the Northern and Southern parts of the country were amalgamated? They were under colonial rule since 1960 when we started governing ourselves. From 1960 to date it is about 50 years.
Dude are you not seeing the along the line quote?

On the second quote: yes in a way you can deduct to your reasoning based on the beginning portion of the quote but reading the second part should indicate to you, a typo either by the author of the article or a mis-word on GEJ part.

In actuality: GEJ words are implicating something must have gone wrong in 1914. That something could mean anything. You are just adding your own meaning of "that something" and trying to pass it off as GEJ meaning.

egift: I will over-look your rant and comment only on the highlighted:
- He did not speak the mind of any "Nigerian". Rather, he spoke the mind of the Arewas, Oduduwas, Biafrans, Ijaws and any other set of Nigerians wishing to divide Nigeria and have a nation of there own. In the present Nigerian law, his statement (being the President) amounts to treason.
Keep living in your pipe dream and contradicting yourself. I won't take a jab at your english comprehension as so many others have done but rather I'll ask two simple question

1.) The highlighted of your words in why nation are these people living according the UN and the map of Africa? South Africans or Nigerians? therefore in what way are you disputing my words?
2.) In what way did GEJ spoke for division and what wrong he did in the article?

TroGunn: Gotta say the lady's argument is sound. If the present Igbo and ND governments are very corrupt and steal from their own people in Nigeria, why would they act differently under Biafra? What's stopping Biafra states from being great now? The FG has only about 50% of the total revenue, the rest goes to states and LGs. One can't really blame the uselessness of the State govts on the FG or aboki.
Same reason Abokis can 't blame their backwardness, illiteracy and poverty on GEJ. No one is stopping Biafran states from developing now, excepts Biafrans themselves. Clearly Biafra, Like Nigeria wants ND oil.
The question is, which one would pay NDeltans more- Biafra or Nigeria? I personally think Biafra - ND has nothing in common with the Islamic North. But even better if ND gets their own country.
dude you are fool. Oya come force the Igbo community in SS to stay with Nigeria and not follow the rest of Igbo people when they decides to leave Nigeria and see if we don't kill you first and sh1t on you before we do as you wish us not to do. 1diot, a beg go learn the the ethnic groups in ND before talking.

As someone whom used to be like sweet lemon 7 years ago and someone whose sister just woke up from the one nigeria pipe dream literally 3 days ago, I say stop fighting her. We all see the truth eventually, the more you fight, the more the fighter wish to hold onto the belief. Take it from someone with an experience.

I don't know what that sweetlemon chick is talking about but it was an Ibibio that woke up me up from my dream. During the battle between I and him, the more the he implicated how Nigeria has no future, the more I felt the need to list the potential Nigeria had. He evtually gave up on me and allowed the dreamer to continue dreaming in the case it was me. It took several years but I eventually got of the matrix and saw the truth. The same phenomenon happened with my sister and praise be to God, she just woked up three day ago.

Let her be logic mind and the rest. The truth eventually catches up.

He spoke the mind of what every Nigerian, except maybe few, are thinking. I do not see how he's advocating for separation but rather discussing the fact something must have went wrong during 1914 amalgamation judging from the history and recent events of this nation.

hmm. I'm starting to think something is amiss in the recent event transpiring in front of us. E be like say someone is trying to drag south into the Boko Haram mess just to decrease the amount of people wishing for separation just because of Boko Haram.

First it was a Yoruba that couldn't tell the state his supposed village is in, then followed by a source telling us about an Igbo man without a name, followed by john akpabu with a grenade that does not even look like a harmful grenade. Something is amiss here

@ topic
Do the Nigerian police know the difference between a smoke grenade and a real grenade, judging from the picture the man was carrying a smoke grenade probably for a protest or something. The only way that grenade is lethal is if it contains a harmful substance, other than that, the guy is innocent.
