But if will to learn cos there wld be classroom work n practice, if u dnt carry humble mind you go start to complain on the 2nd day, it wld affect ur performance. Politics › My Encounter; How Police Officers Go About In The Street Arresting The Innocents by onismate(op): 9:16am On Aug 24, 2015
Writing this piece, I feel terribly angered in me that the officers who are entrusted to bring about law and order, protect the lives of citizens, they have turned to terrorists, scaring citizens. Note, no one is perfect. Even in America and other part of the world, none of their law enforcement agencies and officers are perfect but they are at least better. But the Nigerian police officers are far from better, only but a few.
On Friday, 21/08/2015 after much work in my office. At about 5:30pm, I left the office and headed home. I got to the house and thank God my dad was not at shop A joint. The shop A joint is a store very close to my house building. Just a fence demacation between us. But from our house window one can see what was happening there. And there was another shop (Shop B) which was directly opposite our building.
So it was usual for me not to find my dad in either shop A or B because those were his usual spots in the evening when he’s not doing anything. He goes there to relax, chat up with some people for few minutes and come back to the house. I met my father inside the house just finished eating. I guessed it was the food that made him stay inside that kind of time. Me sef come relax and chop my own food too.
Barely 15 minutes later, I and my dad were seated at the varander chatting when a police van drove by. I thought they were driving by, but they stopped and reversed to where shop A was. The woman who owns the shop was carrying her baby on her arms as the baby slept. They got to were shop A was stopped the car. Na so two police officers jump come out for the van go were two men sit don for the shop. “Oya follow us,” one of them said. They dragged two men sitting on there own and pushed them into the car. And I asked myself “Just like that!” one of the men they pushed into the car, I learnt he just came there to but bread or something else. So after buying, he decided to stay back was chatting with the second man. The woman that owns the shop was just watching what was going on. Maybe she she challenges them, they may come for her too. The husband of the woman that owns shop A was repairing his car with a mechanic at the opposite side. Himself saw what was happening and couldn’t even speak. The officers with guns are not smiling. Who can challenge them! Na make them come am join them go cell! After the police officers pushed the two guys into the car, they went to were the husband was repairing his car and started asking him why he was pouring engine oil out of his car to the ground. Imagine that kind question. Na so the man tell them say he dey repair him car. As they were talking with the man, one of the men they pushed into the car, the one that came to buy bread, he jumped out of the van and began running. Na so two of the officers begin pursue am oo. He ran towards shop B and entered into the shop of one Hajia that is a tailor. Na so the police follow am with their guns. The hajia begin shout oo, “Abeg ooo make una no shoot oo.” The guy ran out through the second door of the shop. I even thought the officers would shoot but they didn’t. But it was unfortunate for the running man because a car parked along the way was an obstacle, if not he would have ran and won’t be caught. Unless the officers shot at him. But unfortunately, he was caught and beaten badly. One of the officers sprayed tear gas directly into his eyes. Na so them carry these people waka oo. As they were going. I saw the barber who cuts my hair inside the van too. When the police left, I was told that they were just arresting people randomly in the street. The barber went somewhere and was returning. Na so them police carry the barber. I began wondering what the Nigerian police force was turning into. How can you just come and start picking picking people randomly. As I was wondering, a boy came out of no where and began bragging that he was the one the police officers were looking for. And when I was coming back from work, I saw the boy in shop B and suddenly he disappeared. Maybe he was indeed who they were looking for. He looked rugged and iresponsible, smoking weed. He said he was leaving the street right away. Na so he tell the woman for shop B make she give am cigar. He bought and began bragging that he was released some days back and they are stiill coming for him again. And I began wondering, if he was released days back and if the police officers recognized him, why didn’t they go for him and go to his house? Why picking up people randomly in the street.
As people began entering the street to know what was happening. They blamed the man that ran out of the police van. That if he was innocent, why running. But why won’t he run? Shey he get money to bail himself. He has never seen that kind of thing before and many people felt he was innocent. That was why he ran. Thank God for me too. If my dad would have been in shop A when police officers came, no be so them for carry the old man too. Or maybe I was there because after eating, I was planning to go there to buy biscuit, if I for they there, na so dem go pick me join them.
As we were still there at the veranda, people started trooping to shop B to ask what was happening. Barely 15 minutes time, the police van came back again. They stopped in shop B. They picked 4 guys sitting on a chair. And these 4 guys, two of them are resident in the compound where shop B is located. And these 4 guys were sitting in that position when the officers came the first time to shop A. If they did something, why didn’t the officers arrest them that first time. E come be say na the second time. And I learnt they were 5 sitting on the chair but one of them went inside the house to go to toilet. Na when he come back he come see say them pack the other 4 guys and some other people away by the police. He began rejoicing and thanking God he went inside, if not the police would have packed all of them together. Some guys that came from other streets, hearing what was happening in our street. They know “Seeing is believing.” So they came to see and hear gossips. It was unfortunate that the police picked some of them that second time. And if you talk or start asking why you are being taking, they will start beating and spraying you tear gas.
Still on the arresting matter. As the officers left shop B, they moved to another compound. Then I knew that they (the police officers) don’t know what they are doing. They are just picking people randomly in the street. They want weekend money. So once there family members come for bail. They would pay up to N10k to N20k for bail. E dey pain me because, can’t someone sit in his compound again! Can’t someone walk on the streets without harrassment from Nigerian police officers? Some of the people arrested were sitting je-jely in their compound when the police came to pick them.
The Nigerian police officers are not our friend at all. They are only friend to our money. And I fell that the Force needs total overhauling. President Buhari should do something fast.
The new trend now is to go about arresting people walking on the streets, in there compounds...

The one that took place in 2014....

oseph Nwabuakwu, a middle-aged social analyst from Aniocha North Local Government Area in Delta State is an optimist whenever there is a discourse on the future of the Niger Delta.

For him, the Niger Delta region may be lagging behind in infrastructure development and other social amenities among the regions of the country, but the future looks promising.

Nwabuakwu’s hope in a better Niger Delta is based on the current efforts of the Niger Delta Commission (NDDC) to turn the tide for the region.

"We can believe a greater future for the Niger Delta, because the NDDC is transforming this region and in no distant future we shall see a greater Niger Delta region. The inclusion of the young people in its development also means it is going to be sustainable,” Nwabuakwu said.

He added: “We have not yet gotten to where we should be, but it doesn't mean we are still curled up where we used to be. The situations we experience in the region can be conquered when all hands are on deck. It involves the coming together of government, major stakeholders and the youth as well. The youth will take the mantle from us some day, so whatever issues or programmes we have should have their interest at heart."

However, for years, unrest-mostly by the young people-has been a major point of discourse on Niger Delta issues. For instance, unemployed youths have been at the centre of many agitations in the Niger Delta that often snowball into criminal activities such as kidnapping and wanton destruction oil installations in the region.

But now, the NDDC has concluded plans to engage 450 Niger Delta youths as part of its youth empowerment programmes.
According to the agency, fifty youths from each of the nine states of the Niger Delta region will be selected by the NDDC to carry-out periodic environmental sanitary services, traffic decongestion and control, clearing of grasses and weeds on the sides of major roads, cleaning and opening up of blocked drainages, security surveillance on oil/gas facilities and installations (pipelines) and other related matters under a special scheme.

Known as Niger Delta Volunteer Scheme, the empowerment programme was created to facilitate a proactive response that will greatly reduce unemployment in the region.

And while the first phase of the scheme will focus on engaging the skills of the youth in environmental sanitation, the second phase will focus on collaboration and cooperation between the NDDC and its development partners with a view to increasing the number of youths under the scheme.

Expectedly, the final phase of the scheme will ensure the young people are provided with opportunities to be employed in highly skilled jobs to enable the programme contributes to the economy of the region in terms of wealth creation and employment generation which is at the heart of Mr. President’s transformation agenda.

Speaking on the relevance of the scheme, the Special Adviser to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission on Youth, Sports, Culture, Conflict Resolution and Women Affairs, Mr. George Alabh Turnah, noted that NDDC will continue to intervene in the provision of employment to the youth of the Niger Delta.

He explained the scheme as one that would cut across the Niger Delta against the backdrop of large disparities between indigenous and non-indigenous rates of labour force participation.

"The scheme will substantially intervene in the continuing high level of indigenous youth unemployment considering the first and second phases as of the proposal. It represents a significant intervention by the Niger Delta Development Commission in the areas of employment generation and wealth creation for the region and promotes the Commission as caring, responsive and focused on tackling the plight of unemployment in the region with the employment generation value of the first and second phases of the scheme put at ten thousand," Turnah said.

Turnah is convinced of the unanimous support being given to the programme by the Bassey Dan-Abia-led NDDC management to bring smiles to the faces of youths in the Niger Delta under the scheme.

"It is the hope of the Managing Director/CEO that the volunteer scheme will provide multiple benefits for young people in the region where employment options are otherwise limited. The 450 Niger Delta youths participating in the scheme will earn a monthly stipend as a form of support to enable them give their best to community development in the region and in particular for their productivity.”

Also their efforts are advanced to further train and exposed them to the best skills available in their chosen areas of specialisation in line with the capacity building goal of the Bassey Dan-Abia 3point agenda of the NDDC," he announced.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Niger Delta Youth Leaders Council, Ebis Orube, said the new scheme by NDDC to help the unemployed youths in the Niger Delta was a laudable programme that would go a long way in reducing social vices associated with youths as a result of idleness.

He said: "I just hope it will accommodate as many as possible youths and at the time become a programme that will be sustainable. So, I advise that they involve those that are really in need of job in order for them to have a means of living and not on political considerations.

On other youth empowerment programmes designed by the office of the Special Adviser on Youth to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NDDC, he added "I believe that these programmes will take care of most of the youths. NDDC is just one of the federal government agencies in the region. i urge the other federal government agencies too, to develop youth empowerment programmes just as NDDC is doing and in doing that, most of our youths will be taken care of."

Former National President, Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM), Mr. Godspower Odenema on his part, said the programme is a welcome initiative as it has the propensity of not only meaningfully engaging the Niger Delta’s jobless youths, adding that it will also give impetus to the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to Odenema, “I am quite happy that the MD/CEO of NDDC, Barr. Bassey Dan Abia, is at the verge of transforming the Niger Delta into an economically prosperous, socially stable and politically peaceful region with this programme. The Niger Delta Volunteer service scheme will surely resolve many knotty problems inherent in the region.”

The NDDC, he said, has done very well in starting a programme that will take some youths off the streets. This will reduce the problem of youth restiveness in the region and promote stability and peace in the area

“It is my opinion that the federal, states and local governments should evolve similar programmes that will substantially take our jobless youths from the streets. The other youths not immediately affected by this progromme will definitely be hopeful that their time will soon come and so will be expectant. Sustainability of this and other programmes will be the much needed opium required to solve this chronic problem,” Odenema added.

Since Dan-Abia’s appointment as the NDDC Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, he has initiated several schemes equip and empower the youths of the Niger Delta communities. As part of efforts to restore the Niger Delta environment from a devastating damage caused by a succession oil spills by oil companies over five decades, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) trained of one hundred and thirty five (135) youths on management and remediation to enable them clean up the affected areas.

Speaking at the commencement of the workshop, Dan-Abia noted that first oil spill management and environmental remediation training organised by the NDDC in Akwa Ibom State, urged the participants to take all they will be taught serious in order to build their capacity which he said is for their own interest and the interest of the Niger Delta.

The NDDC boss disclosed that the training was necessitated by the growing need for home-grown professionals who can attend to the needs of the society especially oil spillage which is a predominant occurrence in the region.

Speaking further, Dan-Abia also noted that the training which is the first in the series of oil Spillage management training has a total of 135 trainees drawn from the nine member states that make up the NDDC will provides strategic support, advice and specialised skills to the participants.

Dan-Abia who also reaffirmed the commission's resolve to consolidate on building the capacity of youths in line with his three-point agenda for development of the Niger Delta region, stressed that time has passed when Niger Deltans will depend on other people to take up oil spill cleaning jobs which youths in the area can do better, if effectively trained.

Director Mosilo Global Services Limited, Mr. Moses Siloko Siasia who is the consultant facilitating the training however, urged the trainees to be of good behaviour conduct and take advantage of every learning opportunity that may arise within the training period, adding that his company will engage those who show excellence in character and learning.

The programme which lasted for seven days, Siasia posited included classroom and practical sessions with resource persons drawn from relevant sectors such as health, safety and environment, engineering as well as legal practitioners with expertise in the oil, gas and allied sector.

No doubt, since the commencement of these schemes by NDDC and other schemes initiated by the federal government, crisis around the Niger Delta area believed to be carried out by the angry Niger Delta youths have decreased.

Jobs/Vacancies › Bad Encounter;my Current Boss Was The HR Were I Went To For Oral Interview by onismate(op): 11:42am On Aug 11, 2015
I look at my life and say “I am blessed.” Even when faced with adversity, I still came out stronger and better.

It was fun and happy mood when I got a job in one of the big Paint company in Port Harcourt. I had always dreamt of working in a big oil company but immediately after my NYSC, just a month, I got a job in this paint company as an assistant auditor. I was so lucky enough that I was so loved by my colleagues and bosses. Even though It was not an oil and gas company I dreamt of. I still moved on.
My boss I answer directly to is the chairman of my department and I also heard he’s one of the shareholders in the company. And the pay I was offered was okay.

A year and 6 months into the job, a female colleague of mine came to my desk one Friday morning as usual. We were chatting when she told me that she applied to a multi national oil company in that Port harcourt. Na so I come dey vex say she no tell me nah. She said she doesn’t know that I would be interested. And she felt I was comfortable in our present company. I had always wanted to work in an oil company. Infact I don even see the thing for vision say one day, I go work for oil company.

My colleauge told me it wasn’t too late, I can still apply though the job positions were not advertised. It was an insider that told her. Na so I reach house that day, brought out my CV were I kept it, dusted the thing and re packaged it.

Two days later, I took permission from my office and went to submit my CV at the other company. I applied for the post of an assistant financial officer in the company. Three weeks later, I got a text on my phone inviting me for an interview in the oil and Gas company. Na so I happy oooo.

I prepared so well for the interview. I even did a research on the company and the pay that comes with the position I applied for. Mehn the pay was way more that my salary in my company. It was N100,000 more. Who no like better thing! Plus the other allowances and packages attached. Sure, I my female colleague was invited for the interview too. Both of us were so happy.

The day of the interview, I took permission from the office that I won’t be coming to work that day. I was just so confident. Something in me was telling me that I was going to get the job but I was still calm and prayed to God. Infact I even made a vow that if I get the job, my first salary, I go give am to God.
I got to the company for the interview that day. Fortunately, my colleague came before me and she was number 7 and I was given 14. We were 20 I counted that came for the interview.

Na so all of us sit down for waiting room. A lady came in and addressed us. She told us that we would be going into the interview room by our numbers, one at a time. Though there was fear in me but I tried to wave it off, being confident not over confident. Na so the interview start. No. 1 entered and came out and two entered. As no. 1 came out, you need to see the way some other applicants rushed up to her. They were asking her how it went and what they asked. Me, I no even move. I just stayed were I was, focused and composed myself I was thinking and remembering what I have read about the company.

It got to the turn of my colleague and she entered. About two minutes time, she was out. But as she walked out, her countenance, her face was not looking good. I immediately stood up from my seat and approached her as we went outside the room. I asked what was wrong. Na so she drop the bomb shell. “Boss messed up my interview,” she said. Boss keh! Because I didn’t understand what she was saying. Na so she tell me say, our Oga in the office who I work directly under was part of the HR team conducting the oral interview. “How come,” I thought to myself. I know my boss is indeed a great human resources manager. He had help hired for some big companies. But I didn’t know he would be part of that process of the company. I was totally diverstated. The confidence I had just went flat. It looked as if the devil has poured me cold water. Goose pimples all over my body. I wondered how I would face him. Infact, he was the first person I told the previous day that I won’t be coming to work that day. I told him I would be travelling to my village to see my grand mom though would come back. Now he would see me at the interview. It will look as if I am not loyal and comfortable at the company. I told my colleague that was considering backing off in the interview so my Oga will not see me. But she said he(Oga) has already seen me. That the name of all the applicants for the job posts had already been submitted to them. Its on their desk at the interview office. And they had already gone through our CVs and documents before we come into the room for the interview. So my Oga don already see my credentials and passport photographs attached to it. My colleague also said that there was CCTV in the interview room. So they were watching us in the waiting room. So what is the need of walking away! Nothing. But my colleague said that my Oga didn’t give the second guy chance to asked her questions. He was just bombarding her with questions like, “What makes you think you are good enough for this company?” “ Why do you want to quit your former place of work?” Hmmmm, I braced myself. My colleague was not happy at all, neither was i. it looked as if our jobs are at stake. The current one we are applying for was not even sure, we don’t even know our fate. “Infact with this my Oga, there was no fate in this,” I thought to myself.

I went back to the waiting room quietly with my confidence, poise smashed. It was almost getting to my turn. The number 11 had gon in.

It got to my turn and I went in. And our eyes met, I and my boss. Chaiiiii, I tried to maintain my cool. I greeted him and the second man. The weird way he was looking at me, it was just scary. Something in me was like, “Guy just forget about your job in that company. Your Oga go sack you.” That eye look that kind that says, “I will finish you.”

The other man asked me to sit and I did. I could see that my Oga was holding my file. I tried to compose myself.

“Why do you want to leave your present job,” was the first question my Oga asked me. As if I wrote that I was presently working CV. But I didn’t. I began feeling uneasy. E be like say na there my downfall go start. I had to choose my words, what I speak and how I do it. The other guy might not understand what was going.

Well I told him that I wanted to test new waters, take up another challenge from another sector.

My Oga--- What kind of challenge? Does it mean you are not comfortable the ones (challenges) at your job before? (my Oga saying it harshly.. chaiii. I don enter am)

The Other man tries to cut in, to talk but Oga told him to wait first so I can answer his questions.
Me – Well, different jobs with different challenges. I love challenges. My current job offers challenges I can bear because they make me better person. But my reason for this job…

My Oga cuts in.

My Oga—Or its not challenging enough or?……
Chaiii. This man was really ready for me. And it’s making me scary and losing control. I just want to be in control of myself. Not to say what I don’t want to say.

Me – Not at all sir. It is challenging and I really loved it and..
My Oga cuts in again
My Oga --- Then why do you want to leave to join this one?

Me – (At this time, I had become confused) In my present job, I am an assistant auditor, but here, I am applying for an assistant financial officer which means I want to swap from that auditoria role to the main financial services role. Not that its not a good job and place but I just want to test another form and sector of the financial service role.

My Oga—Are you just testing or you want to do the job? Are we just here for job testing!

By this time, the other interviewer became interested in what was really going on between me and my Oga. Apparently, he doesn’t know that we know each other. As I was trying to answer the testing question my Oga asked, the second man asked where I currently work because my Oga had been referring to that. I no even know the question wey I wan answer again. My Oga had to intelligently asked the man to wait first so he could finish with me. And my answer to Oga…

Me – I want the Job, I am not testing. I am only referring to the challenges. Me moving from my auditoria role to financial and managerial role.
The Other Interviewer—Hmmmmmmm. You said you are an auditor for ….

As he was asking that, my Oga immediately cuts in.
My Oga --- If this company decides not to hire you, will you still test other companies?

Me – (This man sef) well, I will still remain in my company.
Cuts in……
My Oga --- Remain in your company and looking else were?
As at this time, this man don put me confusion for head. I just felt like leaving the place.
Me – I will stick to my company but still trying out other spheres of financial service roles.
As Oga wants to hit me another question, the other interview asked me to go. Well, I left feeling sad. I don’t know what my fate would be. Maybe I would be sacked in the next couple of days.
When I got home, I was restless. It looked as if one heavy headache came upon me. I couldn’t sleep.
I resumed my job the next day. I had already given up on the interview at the oil company. I felt nothing would make me have it. When I came to the office, I met with my female colleague we had interview together. She herself was restless. I normally report directly to my Oga directly every morning before work starts. That morning I went to his office when he came. I pretended as if nothing happened. Greeted him very well. I had put everything behind me and was ready to take what happens. After greeting, he answered me. Unlike before that he would tease me, he didn’t in this case. Well, me sef no ask him unnecessary questions. We did our usual audits and flows.

Days turned into weeks. I didn’t hear from the oil and gas company. I believed everyone had forgotten what happened during the interview at the oil company. Only for me to come to work one faithful morning and was told that the company was laying off workers. This is a company that has finalized bringing out advert that the are recruiting. How come they are laying off workers. My female colleague that we went to interview at the oil company, she was part of the people that was layed off. They said they were laying off just 8 people from the company and every department must release somebody. The first list in which contains my female colleague has just four people. She wasn’t lucky enough.

So we began waiting for the second list of 4 other persons. Na so fear dey catch me. I felt I was the one going to be discharged in my department.
When the second list came out. No one was dismissed in my department. But rather my Oga retired from the company and I was promoted. I was very happy but I still want the oil and gas job ooo.

Politics › Nigerians Should Stop Pulling Okonjo Iweala Down- Peter Obi by onismate(op): 10:51am On Jul 30, 2015
The former Governor of Anambra State met with some journalists in the state recently where he spoke on various burning national issues. Of note was the alleged mismanagement of Nigeria's economy by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.

"It is rather unfortunate that we have this attitude of trying to pull down our best. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala is a global star and only came back to serve her country and she did that with passion. We gain nothing trying to pull her down. We did it with Arunma Otteh, but we know what she is today. I have been in several meetings where this woman (Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) was almost crying as she explained and pleaded with all and sundry on the need to save for the rainy day.
She advised that proceeds from excess crude sales should be saved in the Sovereign National Wealth Fund for effective management. I have read newspaper reports that it is ironic that she spoke of a rainy day when it was already pouring. I personally remain indebted to her because it was from her persistent preaching on the need to save in the Sovereign National Wealth Fund that made me incorporate savings in foreign currency – that is why one third of the money we left on leaving office was in foreign currency, $156 million(N25 billion at that time).

With interest now it would be about $170 million and with the current rate it is almost N40 billion. My position in all this is that we must cultivate the attitude of saving as a country. Excess crude money should be saved in the Sovereign Wealth Fund. No country will survive without saving for the future. Even in animal kingdom, the ants save for the rainy day. We must save bearing in mind that natural resources that we enjoy today are depleting assets."

Christianity Etc › How A Muslim Cleric Defrauded My Female Friend And Her Sister by onismate(op): 10:37am On Jul 30, 2015
People have criticized Men of God that they are extorting their members and followers, not forgetting that we all are humans no matter the status and position in the society.
I relocated to a new state. The street I was living had a church and a mosque. It was a student dominated area, many university students lived there. It wasn’t easy for me mingling and trying to make a new friends and companion. But I managed to make a female friend who is so nice and accommodating. Her name was daisy and also a 400 level microbiology student. During one of our conversations, she was telling me of a popular muslim cleric in that street. He was popularly called Afa saheed. He said the Afa saheed is a strong muslim cleric with great powers. I had actually heard about the Afa and many of his works but I was not moved. The last time I checked, it was only faithful Christians that God had given power to do miracles, not Imams and Afas. This my friend told me that the Afa began telling me of how Afa Saheed turned a traditional poisoned liquid medicine to Fanta. As she said that, I began wondering if Afa saheed had turned Jesus Christ, because na only Jesus I know say he did something like that in the Bible in a marriage ceremony; turned water to wine.“So na who come drink the Fanta and how,” I asked. She said she heard it from someone who said she came to meet the Afa saheed for prayers. The Afa told her that her problems was the traditional medicine she drinks at home. The medicine was poisoned by her enemies and that she should go back home, that the poisoned medicine will turn to Fanta which she should take and it would cure her problems. The woman indeed got home and the medicine had turned to Fanta. She took it and was cured.
As she was narrating the story, I felt she was just one of the many gullible people that this kind of con religious leaders dupe a lot. I refused to believe her sef. I had heard so much about the Afa but I refuse to have anything to do with him.
I began asking her why she was telling me about the Afa because she was just advocating for him. “Abi you don visit the man?” I asked. “Me! Tufiakwa. I can’t never visit that kind of person.” She shouted.
“Though there was a time a was experiencing stomach pain, and he(Afa saheed) came with a friend to my house. He just said I should add salt into a cup of water and drink, which I did and since then, I have not been experiencing the stomach pain,” my friend said. “But I thought you said tufiakwa that you will never visit him,” I said to her. She said she didn’t visit him, he was the one that came to her. Na so I laugh, girls shah.I have heard how the Afa extorts money from students for as much as N50,000 to N100,000 for those who want to pass all their courses. And trust students nah, many of them rush to him. Even yahoo boys are not left out.Well we forgot about Afa saheed for that day.
Few days later, daisy came to me crying to me. I asked her what the problem was and she said her junior sister in SS 2 was 2 months pregnant. How come! Who come pregnant her! Daisy said it was hurting because she doesn’t know how to explain the situation to her mother. And her sister was kept under her care. She was threatening to beat or send her out. I told her never to do that. She couldn’t even listen to me. With much whaling, she left my place. In the evening, I went to her place. Then her junior sister was there. She don already over beat the girl sef. he was just shedding tears. I had to calm daisy while she explained who was responsible. Daisy said her sister doesn’t even know who was responsible for her pregnancy out of the 4 guys sleeping with her. “Then let the 4 guys accept the responsibility of her welfare till she delivers and we do a DNA test to ascertain who is responsible,” I said to her. Na so daisy para ooo. “Which pregnancy! She must abort it oooo,” she shouted. She should just encourage her to keep the baby. It was just a mistake. Daisy no wan hear, she no wan listen say “Abortion is dangerous” if not properly done.
2 days later, daisy told me that Afa saheed told her that she doesn’t need to go to any hospital or doctor for any abortion, but he Afa saheed can do something. “Something like what?” I asked her. She said Afa saheed said he knows what he will do and the pregnancy would disappear. “Hahahahahahahahah,” na so I laugh again. Abi this girl dey joke or what. But she was damn serious and believed what the Afa said. She was such a gullible jerk. She said Afa saheed asked her to just bring N25,000 just for it. Na so I look her. So this girl wan carry N25,000 give one con Afa, thief. Is it not better she goes to quack were they would do it for cheaper price. I began wondering, so Afa saheed would just conjure some voodoo and baby wey dey inside womb go disappear. “Abeg I no believe this thing,” I said to her. “You better believe it my brother. Even if you don’t, dat na your business,” she said to me. She said I should I should borrow her N10,000 to complete the money she would give to Afa saheed. I told her that I won’t give her the money. Because it was like intentionally wasting money on con men. She cried and cried begging me to give her the money. Me sef couldn’t stand her tears that I told her I would withdraw money the next day only if she would take me to the Afa, atleast for me to ascertain the safety of daisy’s junior sister and the procedures he would use to carry out the disappearance of the baby.
The next day, I went to the bank and withdrew some money, daisy, her junior sister and I went to Afa saheed’s place. Come see as people, most especially students full there dey wait for Afa saheed. I learnt that period was their exams and they all want to have an A so they had come to see Afa. To score an A, one has to give N5,000. I counted all the people I felt were students, they were up to 56 and multiplied it by N5,000. Chaiiii this Afa is really making a hell of a money with what he was doing. I even heard the guy was building a big mansion in his village and owns 4 cars. For someone who is a primary school dropout making that kind of money.
Well, we waited but couldn’t see him that day which prompted us to come back the next day and we finally met him. The first question I asked was how he was going to make the baby disappear from the womb. He said it’s simple. That he would insert his man his manhood into the girl’s female core to suck out the fetus and before one week, the baby in the womb would disappear.Immediately I heard what he said, I was angry. “Abi shey him manhood don turn syringe wey dem take dey suck fluid, abi the thing don dey do magic” I wondered within me. That was methodapparently having sex with the girl. Na so I begin para oo for their. “For what! Afa why you wan sleep with the girl before you do your magic nah?” I said. Daisy couldn’t say or do anything why I was shouting for the Afa. I just believed people going to him are just gullible. I angrily left the place, daisy followed and began begging me to give her the money that she wants to continue. I told her that I can’t give her my heart earned money to do such a thing. She begged but I never listened. Later that day, I gave her junior sister the money and asked her to do whatever she chooses to but keeping the baby was the best option.
Daisy later told me they used the money I gave to them for the disappearing abortion process. Afa saheed collected the money and did what he did. Well, I began waiting to see if indeed the magic worked. But it was unfortunate that as time went by, the girls belly was getting bigger. I told daisy that what Afa saheed did was not working, that she should take her sister to hospital for pregnancy test so she can’t start antenatal. She didn’t agree with me. I told her to go back to the con man, Afa saheed to collect her money back to register for antenatal for her sister. She refused telling me that Afa saheed said it would work, that that was how it used to be. The belly would become big at first and later go down. But it was unfortunate that it was getting bigger and that was the 5th month.Daisy finally heeded to my advice when she realized that her sister’s tummy was so big and glaring that she was pregnant. 9th month came and her sister delivered twins. Afa don chop money run. The worst part of it was that so many students that gave him money to score an A, some of them failed massively. Dem come dey look for Afa saheed the con man. Afa saheed don run comot for the city. He must have relocated to another city to start start milking new set of people.

People refer to her as half sister, but which one be half sister. sister is sister even as Maya is President Obama's sister from her mother's second marriage. Auma Obama is a great woman. I watched her keenly when President obama, her brother visited Kenya. Auma was all with President Obama throughout the visit. Eve at the dinner organized at Kenyan state house for the US President, Auma was with Barack. It made me realize that President Obama has Always been close to her sister Auma Obama. Both of them have always played a role in each others lives. When Barack Obama jr (US President) first visited Kenya in early 1980s, it was Auma who picked him from the Airport.

In his Grammy award – winning book and New York Bestseller, Dreams From My Father, Barack Obama talks very passionately about his sister Auma, the one who gave him a ride in her Volkswagen Beetle to Alego K'Ogelo when he came to Kenya looking for his roots.

For those who don’t know,

Romance › Re: My Life Lesson Story That Made Me Realise That Guys Lose Money Chasing Women by onismate(op): 12:58pm On Jul 25, 2015
But the one that hit me was blessing. I and blessing was communicating more often. It seemed I still had feelings for her. And she never relented but I was being too careful so I won’t be maga-d. I later invited her to visit me in Abuja. As time went on, we became more closer. Though she was yet to get a very good job. She was disturbing me to get her a job in Abuja. I told her to be patient. Not that I can’t do it. I was just being careful. Maybe it’s me or my money she wants. She was working in a private primary school in Lagos.
This particular Friday, blessing called me to remind me of her upcoming birthday. That I should get her a good gift. I decided to surprise blessing just as her name is. The day of the birthday, She had earlier complained that the class she was teaching, she wants to share biscuits and she doesn’t have money to buy. I had already organized a big package for her in Abuja but I had to re-strategize. When I got to Lagos, I bought some cartoons of biscuit and sent to her school and bought a special one for blessing which I took along in the evening to her place were she said her birthday party would be taking place. When I got there, everybody was just hailing me. I guessed she (blessing) had told them who I was. To me, I wasn’t convinced to tell people we are dating. I was just testing her.
After eating and drinking, I went to my car, brought out the cartoon of digestive biscuit I bought for her. Na so I call everybody wey dey there. After a short speech, I presented the carton of biscuit to her. You need to see the look on her face. As if she was saying, “so na biscuit you see to give me, no be even car.” There was silence everywhere as I gave her the biscuit. She stood looking at me as if she was contemplating collecting it from me. Tongues had begun wagging, side talks because a billionaire gave his very female close friend just a carton of biscuit. “just carton of biscuit?” blessing shouted as if she was expecting much. Na so this girl begin abuse me ooo. She said she won’t collect the carton of biscuit. And her close friend buchi was there. Before that time, I had already hinted buchi my plans and how we were going to present the biscuit to her (blessing). Buchi immediately came to me and took the carton of biscuit, tour it and poured it on the floor and everything fell out. Inside the carton contained biscuits, and envelop which contained N50,000 and a car key. All of them fell out as buchi poured it on the floor. Blessing had always wanted a car. She once told me that she was planning to get a second hand used car. I was determined to make it happen that I even over did it by getting her a brand new car.
Buchi took the microphone and told everyone that it was not only biscuits but money and a car key was inside the carton as everyone could see it. Immediately they saw and heard it, people were just shouting and hailing me. Blessing’s face brightened up but not for too long because in excitement, as she was moving fast to go collect the car key and envelop on the floor, I rushed immediately and took them. I told her I was not and never going to give it to her again. Because she had said that she won’t collect it, make she just forget am. Na so everybody became surprised and shock ooooo. I took my car keys and the money, told the driver to drive the car he brought me with and I drove the brand new car I bought for blessing. I took it to my hotel. Blessing tried calling and apologizing for her attitude. She sent text messages. Me sef no wan hear. She already said she doesn’t want the carton of biscuit, so she should not even bother to get the other contents in it. The next day, i made an arrangement that the new car be brought to me in Abuja before leaving Lagos. Na so blessing come meet me for Abuja ooo. She even embarrassed me by kneeling down in an eatery close to my office where I normally eat. She caused a scene by kneeling down begging people to beg me to take her back. Me sef come kneel down come beg them, asking them to tell blessing to leave me alone. I left the place never to have anything to do with blessing.
4 months later, I found a perfect bride-to-be and I walked her down the aisle and she has a beautiful daughter for me.

Romance › Re: My Life Lesson Story That Made Me Realise That Guys Lose Money Chasing Women by onismate(op): 12:58pm On Jul 25, 2015
I started my own and God really blessed me. But it was unfortunate that The man who thought me the business suffered a stroke and he relocated to the U.S, thereby stopping the business of distribution. Though he encouraged us and wished us well. I don already pay for my land finish sef, don even collect the certificate. It was a turning point in my life because I returned to start distributing in Abuja since the king was gone. God blessed my hustle. What I couldn’t achieve in many years, I achieved in one year. Built my house, relocated my parents to be with me. Na so my name come dey reign for Abuja small small ooo. I strategized to go into going into deep chemical manufacturing and distributing channel, to make it a major company and expand. I had about 4 people working for me. I wanted someone that would help me in Lagos, a distributive link. I hired a manager who helped me got a link to be distributing the chemicals in Lagos. My manager said the man owns a big chemical store in Lagos and he was willing to start distributing ours. I asked that I must see the man in question for anything could start. I paid the flight ticket and he came and we discussed and signed and business started. Few months later, I travelled to Lagos for a friend’s wedding. I worked into a store to get some few things for the friend. There I saw Ngozi in that super market. Immediately she saw me, she screamed and came to hug me with one hand. She was having a baby in the other hand. Chaiiii, how time flies. “You have really change,” she said. Indeed I have changed. I never knew money could change someone like me. I that use to have long neck with pimpled face. Now so many people call me “Clean guy” or “fresh guy” because I looked cute. Na so me and Ngozi begin talk ooo. She said she came with her husband to get some few things for one of her kid’s birthday. She was already married. As I was standing with her, I heard “sir, you came to shop here sir?” I turned to know who was talking to me, and it was my distributing agent in Lagos. As I had a handshake with him, he bowed in respect. "Dear, this is my boss, my Oga at the top I was telling you about,” he said to Ngozi. Apparently, he was married to Ngozi. Infact the stuffs I bought, he offered to help me carry them to my car outside, but me no gree. I told him not to worry but he still insists. Well I left it for him and he carried them as we walked outside. Ngozi tell her husband say na all of us dey the same department for university.
After putting my stuffs inside my car and talked. They even invited me to their house for their kid’s birthday. Me tell them say I no fit come ooo. I just deep my left hand inside my trouser pocket, bring out money, count N10,000 give the baby for her birthday. Ngozi told me that they were trying to organize a reunion party for our set that graduated that year. I told her it was great and encouraged them before I left.
After I had gotten to Abuja, few days later. I got a call from my agent’s number in Lagos. I even thought it was him who was calling because I have a specific phone and number for receiving and calling my agents. I picked, “hello, this is Ngo baby,” the female voice said. Apparently it was Ngozi who was calling with the line. We talked for about 30 minutes. From not yet married to how I had acquired so much wealth. She still reminded me the reunion.
As days went by, Ngozi Ngo baby searched for me on facebook and added me and I gladly accepted. As time dey go, Ngozi was flooding my facebook inbox with messages sometimes she would just write on my wall. She would write and tag me. Before I knew what was happening, many of my former classmates back in the university began adding me on facebook. Not to create an impression that I am proud, I accepted all of them. Na so dem go just dey write for my wall. So many of them were sending me messages but I no even bother to reply. Even Ngozi, I don’t reply her messages. Some of them ladies sef dey toast me. They were sending me love messages. I was surprised when I got a call from my business line. It was one of my former classmates. She said Ngozi gave her my number and she would be getting married so she called to invite me. And I remember this girl back then. She no dey gree borrow person note. During one of our classes then. One of my lecturers caught us talking and he said both of us were husband and wife. Na so dis girl para ooo. “God forbid. Tufiakwa. Me marry him.” She said. Na so people come dey laugh me for class dat day. She doesn’t even like me sitting close to her. Now she is inviting me for her wedding. She kept on calling me every day concerning the wedding. I told her I can’t come but I would send her a gift. She no gree oo. She said I must come ooo say na me go be chairman. The day of the wedding, I sent them a tangible gift. Infact, the way I did it. Big bros style. I don get money. I sent someone to them the morning of the wedding to give her the gift. I dey Abuja, I no wan go the wedding because so many of my former classmates go use opportunity wan com dey wan mingle with me. I made sure I switched off the line she used in calling me after sending her the gift. Before I knew what was happening, my business line became so busy that I changed it. Still, they would be sending me wedding invite, birthday and so on facebook. Infact, some go dey beg me money. Na so my name started spreading, God blessed me that I started travelling overseas with Tony Elumelu. We took pictures together. Now no be me dey find woman. Na dem dey find me.
The day of the reunion came, I no even bother to go. I just want to block so many access to reach. According to Ngozi when she sent me a message on facebook, she said many people came just to see me. So many who were yet to get a job were there so they could just network with me. Me sef happy say God don lift me up because wetin so many of them did to me, as if I was the world’s most rejected. Dem just dey abuse me. Even after the reunion, so many were writing on my wall. The one that caught my attention was, “Hi most handsome,” message from Blessing. Na so I check her profile and it’s still “single” for relationship status.
Weeks later, my agent in Lagos, Ngozi’s husband called me to say that he and his wize, Ngozi would be having their 4 wedding anniversary and he would like to personally and specially invite me. And I don’t reject offers like that from my workers because the man who thought me the business encouraged me with all love and support and encouraged me to do the same when I have my own workers. Well, I accepted to come the day the event is to take place.
The day of the wedding anniversary came, I took a flight that morning from Abuja to Lagos. Though I got to the church service late. The whole place was filled up so I had to stay inside the car, white Range rover sports which I hired to pick me up from the airport to the church. After the service, I saw people coming out of the church. Na so my phone begin ring ooo. I checked and it was Ngozi’s husband. I had earlier changed my contact number with all my agents because it seemed Ngozi gave the numbers to my former classmates and people. As I received the call from the new number, it was Ngozi. Chaii, this girl no wan rest. She was angry and said I didn’t come to their church service. I told her that the whole place was filled up when I came in that I was presently inside the car. She said I should please come so we all can take photographs together and for her to introduce me to her pastor. The way she was even talking to me sef, as if I was a king or President. Na so I tell my driver make he drive me go the church entrance. As he drove me to the church entrance, people were just coming out the church in large numbers. As the car stopped and I walked out, all eyes were on me. It just looked as if I am the Nigerian President. Ngozi and her husband were already standing with the photographer. They were negotiating were the right location to snap the photos. Immediately she saw me, she and her husband just ran to meet me as if I was President. Her husband bowed as he had a hand shake with me. I met the surprise of my life as I saw many of my former classmates. Come see as everyone they hail me. Level don change ooo. My greatest surprise was seeing blessing. See as she come dey look me. All of them were just trolling to take a photograph with me. After the photograph, I told Ngozi and her husband that I would be heading back to Abuja immediately. Na so dem begin beg me to come follow them reach house say refreshment dey. I told them I had an important meeting to attend to. I brought out a portrait I made for them which has the both of them in the picture. The portrait was made of fine wood, glass and a little touch of gold and it cost me a little above N150,000. They loved it so much. Some of my former classmates were begging me to give them my mobile number, including blessing. I gave them my 4th line before leaving. I no fit give them my main personal number. Na so them just dey bombard me with calls and text messages ooo. Some they ask of work, some na money while some other girls dey toast me. It was surprising that many of the ladies who were married were even asking me out. To be sincere with you, I no dull myself. I never want anything to do with married ladies. As time went on, I was communicating with the unmarried ones some of them come dey feel my swag. One of them, Nkoli, I could remember she was one of the people that use to call me “smelling mouth applicant.” She was yet to be married. She had been disturbing that she would love to meet me in Abuja. I invited her but not to my house. And I refused lodging her in any hotel. I can never be mugu-d twice. They all ate my money in the university, but not now. She paid all her expenses of coming. She said she has a relative in Abuja where she would stay. We met and she got me a nice wristwatch. She was even begging me to manage it that she knows she wasn’t rich to be getting me a wristwatch worth millions but I should manage that one which was N23,000. Na so I collect am from her. I made sure I didn’t take her to my house or office. We met at an eatery which I only took water. We ended up at one of my friend’s home. She was asking me to take her to my house, I told her it was yet time. Na my friend house I nack her.
As time went on, I was just sleeping with some of the girls, my former classmates. I even nearly bleeped Ngozi but thank God for my self-control. She was just throwing herself on me. I was enjoying it because I thought I lost them, but I never lost them. They were still there even after making the money.
