Romance › My Life Lesson Story That Made Me Realise That Guys Lose Money Chasing Women by onismate(op): 12:57pm On Jul 25, 2015
I have always adored the above saying in the sense that men spends a lot of money chasing women, but if the rather channel their energy and efforts on chasing money, the women would still be there, they are not lost even when they reject them. But after making money, come back to that woman and she would most likely accept them. That was the case of my uncle during his days as a lover boy. But I didn’t want to take those chances. I had always wanted a woman that would stay with me through thick and thin, whether poor or rich.
During my days in the university, they were couple of beautiful ladies in my department. I admired some of them. I saw most of them as classy and from a “well-to-do” home. I first met Ngozi. She’s probably the most beautiful in my college and department. I have always seen myself as a confident and intelligent guy. I took a short at Ngozi but she rather turned me down. She didn’t only turned me down but abused me untop of it, that I have pimple face. Well I never gave up on women. I knew my face was a little rough. Money no dey and na manage my parents they manage send me come school. I took a shot at some other women in that department but they all turned me down abusing me that I have no swag and so poor and wretched. But when the results would come out, na so I go dust all of them. The beautiful girls would always come to me during the exam period or each time they we have assignments or test. They would want me to help them. After that, dem go run, dem no want make I date them. And I was never a stingy guy. In as much God don give me the brain, I come dey use am dey help, no matter how dem reject me reach. No be say some of the girls get money shah ooo. They were just packaging and looking for guys that would spend for them and I fell for it. Some of the girls, I would send them recharge cards, buy and use in calling them. I even give them money but still dem no go gree date me. They wanted guys with cool cash and ride. They will chop from my money and still chop from my intelligence.
The one that pained me most was blessing. She was one of the most cute and gentle in my department. I went through thick and thin for her academics. She no too know book. I do her assignments for her. We sat together most times during tests and exams. My parents don’t sent me much money. The little they send me, i will still send her recharge cards and money. I will ask her out, still she go dey post me. She would tell me to still give her time to think about it. I gave her the time, still gave her money, more money, much money from the small money that mother who sells pepper gives to me. Still, blessing was posting me. Her dad was an engineer while the mom was a lecturer so she could afford most things. But still, she would be tasking me. I never knew she was messing with one of my rich dudes. Apparently the guy has the cash. Most of the girls I had toasted that turned me down. This guy has slept with them all. He has money nah but no fine pass me. I was more handsome than him but because of the pimples on my face, the girls dey run.
I was so frustrated of girls turning me down because I have no money. Till this particular incident during our final year when we went to right a professional exam. The exam was oral. I was very sick that I was admitted to the hospital. I was rushed from the hospital with so many tablets and drip injected in me. When I got to the center, I called blessing so she could put me through the processes according to the test, everyone participating in the exam are applicants. So many people were much at the place. She was not picking. I managed to find her seated at a place. Managed to stand with the nurse that helped me and I went to meet her. Immediately I got to her.

Me--------- Blessing how far nah
Na so this girl para ooo. She begin shout for me.
Blessing ----- What is that! What is it! Did I owe you? Why are you disturbing me you smelling mouth applicant.
Chaiii… Immediately she said that, it just looked as if the ground should just open and swallow me. Because she actually shouted it aloud in the presence of everyone. And the exam was an open one, everyone watching and looking at me as if my mouth was smelling, but it wasn’t. Chaiii, everyone was just looking at me. The nurse that brought me couldn’t say anything because she was an auxiliary young nurse. Blessing walked away from me as some of my departmental mates laughed. Since that day till I left the school, na “smelling mouth applicant” dem come dey call me for school. Since that day, I made up my mind that I will make this money and I learnt it the hard way after I have lost much money chasing women. I decided to chase money. I ignored all those girls and focused on my life and how to make it great. I decided not to ask any girl out again till money come.
After graduating, I did my NYSC in Abuja. The little money I saved during the course, I used it to rent an apartment in Bwari area after service. I find work tire, yet no job. But thank God for a church member who asked me to join his chemical distribution business in Abuja. He was paying me a little. At first it looked as if there was no future but as time went on, I discovered there was money in it as we distribute the chemicals. The man really helped me a lot in that he even bought a large acre of land, divided it among us his workers. So we pay him monthly till we complete our payment and the land would be ours. He just wanted us his workers to have houses in Abuja. Barely 2 years I started working for him, he released me to start my own distribution channel but not in Abuja. It might be its surroundings like Jos, Niger state because he owns Abuja even though there was more money in it in Abuja because Abuja is more commercial. And indeed, his business is very popular in Abuja with huge customers.

Technology Market › Nigerian Tops Ebay Rich List For Sellers by onismate(op): 5:58am On Jul 23, 2015
According to the list, the most successful shops are those selling electrical goods and fishing items while motoring-related sellers and fancy dress vendors are also raking in a fortune. The new figures show how eBay hasinspired a new generation of entrepreneurs who have built money-spinning businesses out of the online marketplace - usually from the comfort of their own home. One example is Les Bailey, who runsPF Jones, a car parts account whichgenerates some £3.3m in sales per year. Top of the list isChinedu 'Ken' Emechebe, 37, who started selling mobile phone accessories under thename 'universalgadgets01' from his two-bed London flat in 2008 - and now has monthly sales of nearly £1.5m.The business became so successfulthat he was forced to relocate three more times and now works out of a 1,200sq ft warehouse where he employs around 45 people. The father-of-two said: 'I think the great thing about eBay is just from day one the ease of selling on eBay makes it great for small businesses.'On eBay everything is set up for you. Yes you pay your fees, but you would have to pay for advertising costs if you went on Google.'eBay sets you up, it has millions of people who come on to the website every day, and all these people who are on there are looking for productsand deals.'Mr Emechebe sells around 2,500 items a day on eBay, with most of the goods coming directly from factories around the world. Among his most popular items are the iPhone 5, ethernet cables and headphones. He said: 'We outgrew the house and moved into our first warehouse about a year and a half after starting the business and at the moment we are in our fourth warehouse. We have just grown since then.'[I think we are number one because]we have been doing this for a while and we understand the market. We understand what most people on eBay want. Customer service is number one and we have to keep thecustomer happy.

Note, This story is not to abuse any Man of God. Just as Pastor Chris Oyakhilomhe has said that we should stop abusing men of God or making jokes of them... Though part of this story is true but enjoy and be entertained and moderate your comments.... Thanks

I sat je-jely on my desk when a friend of mine came to invite me for their church program taking place the upper week. Well, I accepted the flier she gave to me. Looking at the flier sef, the promo shots and
the pastor that would be ministering. The theme of the Program was “Power must change hands. May thunder strike that my uncle in the village.” As I looked at it again, I hissed. The theme alone had turned me off. I didn’t even bother to even look at it again. I dropped the flier at a corner in my office.
Few days later, my friend came again to remind me of their church program which would take place that day. I told him plainly I wasn’t going to come. He started convincing me, telling me how the guest minister that would be coming, he would be coming with great anointing, fire and thunder. “Thunder keh! Who he wan strike?” I asked. “To strike your uncle in the village ofcourse,” she said. Chineke mehhhh. Chukwu Abiama. Which my uncle for village this girl want make thunder striker! My only surviving uncle that is in Otueke. He sponsored my education from secondary school to university in London. He has been there for me, na im this lady want make thunder kill. Na so me para for her oo. That why should thunder strike my uncle. “You never can tell, he might be the one behind your problems,” she said. Did I tell this girl that I was having any problem! I told her that I don’t have any problems that I should be going for deliverance. She started telling me how the pastor has done so many miracles. How he made a woman who was purging to stop. I was expecting her to still tell me that he divided river Niger. But she was telling how pigeon ran out of a woman’s anus in the man of God’s crusades, and how a man vomited 14 live snakes. I told her not to even waste her time convincing me because I wasn’t coming. The poster alone, looking at it sef might even damage the eye sight. With the image of a woman carrying 2 bags of cement and a male dwarf holding a battle axe and a bazooka. Who do they want to kill! Finally my good female friend left me since she saw that she couldn’t convince me to come. And thank God that day, we were given half day at the office so we closed by 1pm. After closing, I went home, took my shower and slept off. When I woke up, it was some few minutes pass 4pm. I brought out my laptop to work some important things my boss gave to me to do. I discovered that the assignment was on the flash drive I gave to my friend who invited me to their church program. And I needed to submit it to my boss the next morning. I called that my colleague and she told me she was at their church program and she has not gotten home, so the flash is with her at the place. Well I decided to go their church to get the flash drive. I got to there church and the crowd there was massive. I called her again, telling her to come out with the flash. She refused ooo. She said I should come inside to meet her. Una come see me see wahala oooo. How would I locate her inside the crowded auditorium? I was so angry in my spirit. Apparently, she wants to force me into the program. I waited and called until he sent one of the ushers to come into the church and collect it and if am not ready to, I should wait till the end of the service. I thought about it, since this lady was trying to make me enter for the program, due to what I needed the flash to do, I just had to finally follow the last usher that talked with me, and we entered the church. I thought I would just go in, she gives me the flash and I walk away. Only for the usher to take me to the extreme front seat were this my female colleague was seated comfortably with her baby and her husband. There was an empty seat beside them which she placed her baby. She had to carry her baby and told me to seat there. I greeted the husband. The invited man of God had already started his message and we were directly facing the alter and pastors. It just looked as if they were looking at me. I whispered into my colleague’s ear, telling her to give me the flash drive. But she became adamant, telling me to wait till after the service. That is it, which was what she wanted. To drag me to their program and she succeeded successfully. I was so pained but I kept my cool as the
pastor preached. The pastor came down from the pulpit. He moved from one part to the other in the congregation telling members to stand up and he would prophesy into their lives and still tell them to give him a huge amount of money before the prophesy can come to pass then he would tell them to sit. He got to where we were, by then my colleague had already given her husband beside her their baby to hold and nurse. The man of God came to our direction, looked at me and looked at my colleague’s husband and said that their baby he was carrying is going to be a great man, he will kill thousands of lions. Na so I look my colleague look her husband because the last time I checked, it’s a baby girl and not a boy how come he turned to man were pastor is. My colleague’s husband told the pastor that it’s a baby girl and not a boy. But the pastor said it doesn’t matter, she is a girl but he is seeing a man. For my mind, I hoped that the baby won’t turn to transgender when she grows up. Abi na wetin the pastor mean! Before I knew what was happening, invited man of God went to my colleague and said. “Young lady, God has already dried your tears, you have been lifted.” As he was saying it, you need to see how my colleague just knelt down and lifted up her hands up high and was shouting “Amen.” The man of God laid his right hand on my colleagues head and broke the bombshell, saying “God will give you your own husband.” He said it and moved to another person. Na so I turn look my colleague husband for face. Which kind talk be that one. The last time I checked, God is not an author of confusion. She is already married and her husband was by her side and he was still saying that God would give her husband. Abi
he wan kill him husband marry another person? How would that happen? Many people in the church were just looking, frowning and murmuring because of the Man of God’s words. And so many people were even enjoying the man of God’s so called prophesies. Some were coming to drop money on the alter. “Ride on Pastor,” were the main words. The man of God asked everyone to stand up and began laying hands on people. One thing I notice was that he would put his hand on people’s head. He would bend their head and be pushing them till they fell. He touched my colleague and quickly she was on the floor as if it was staged (maybe it was). He got to me and laid his hand on me and began pushing my head down, so it would make me weak and lose stamina, which would make me to fall. Na so I talk say “the devil is a liar. Lai lai, I no go fall.” I regained my stamina and held myself firmly as he pushed me to fall. But I refused to fall. The man of God removed the microphone from hi mouth and was whispered into my ears saying, “release yourself. Why don’t you release yourself for me to pray for you.” After saying that, he placed his hand on my head again and bending it, trying to make me fall. me sef no gree. He removed the microphone from his mouth and said in a low tone that I was stubborn and he wasn’t going to pray for me again since I don’t want to release myself. He thought I would be part of those he will just lay hands on and I will just fall yakata for ground. Lai lai. I watched as he murmured “I will not pray for you if you don’t want to release yourself.” As if he is God or I depended on his prayers or maybe he thought himself to be so powerful that his prayers would move mountain. I watched as he moved to the next person. One touch and the person was on the ground and when they are not, he bends their head downwards, pushing them to the ground. I still remained calm. If not for the flash drive I wanted, I wouldn’t have come in. The man of God asked everyone to deep their hands into their pockets and bring out the lowest and highest denomination of currency they have. So many people brought out N1000 and N5. And he told them to pray into the money. Me sef no bother to bring out any money. I sat down je-jely on the chair. “Are you not doing what the pastor said?” my colleague asked me. I told her I wasn’t interested. The man of God said they should pray that God should not be giving them low denomination but only high denomination of currency. After prayers, the man of God told them to tear the low denomination they have, and as they are tearing it, they are tearing sorrows and small money out of their lives. They will only be receiving big money. And all began tearing the low denominations they have. My colleague saw that I wasn’t doing anything with them. She brought out N1000 and N10 notes and gave to me. I willingly collected it from her. I tore the N10 note. And then the man of God told the ushers to pass offering boxes around and told everyone to drop their N1000 notes inside the offering boxes being passed round. And I turned around and saw people dropping. The whole congregation
would be more than 3,000 people. When it got to my turn, I didn’t even bother to drop my N1000, I quickly put the thing inside my pocket. After the service, I collected the flash drive and went my home safely.

Family › Deppression Is Wicked: The Life Of A Depressed Woman And How She Overcame by onismate(op): 5:21am On Jul 14, 2015
Depression is bad, wicked and a killer if only you give it a chance.
2013 ended in grace just like my name, Grace. It wasn’t so good but it was better because there is life. With everything that happened, I was so strong to forge ahead.
2014 came, January precisely. I made a move to enroll at the National Open University (Noun) in which I got the admission. I paid a huge sum for registration and tuition fees. By March, the tool “depression” crept in. It started one after in mid March when I was in my office. I began remembering the past. What had transpired the previous years. And I began shedding tears in the office. Couple of colleagues came in asked why I was crying, I couldn’t give any explanation. I just took my bag and went home.
Yes the previous years were bad. I lost 3 of my brothers in a ghastly fire accident the same day. The following year, my slumped and died. That same year, my mum suffered stroke and died. 3 years later, my husband to be in which we have been together for 10 years. We were coming back from where we went to meet his parents and we had an accident. He was the only one who died in the car. Since that time, no man had asked me out. During this same period I couldn’t further my education. One of my junior sisters left the house, to only God knows where and we are yet to find her. I was left with only our last born who is a girl and her elder brother to cater for.
All that and so many hit my memory as I was in the office which led to my crying. At 37, no husband, still in Noun, no family as we had been abandoned by close relatives and so many things hitting my memory.
The next day, I didn’t go to work. This was indeed stage 2 or entering stage of depression. And the job I am doing is not just any job oo. This is a good Government Job in a good ministry. One week gone, two weeks, one month. By then, I had stopped school kpatakpata. The Noun I spent money to register for, I no dey go school again. No church, nothing nothing. I don’t even go out again. I will just stay inside day in, day out thinking and crying. My siblings would go to school and come back and still meet me at home. My colleagues at the office often come around. They kept on asking me what was wrong but I couldn’t give them any candid reply.
6 months gone and still, I no dey go work or school. My boss even visited me. Still I refused going to work. I will stay at home from morning till night.
Stage 3 of depression came in. The baddest of the baddest stage. I considered suicide. I wanted to take my life. Each time I was alone, the thought would just come into my mind. I bought it because I felt there was nothing I was living for. I wished to even question God why He still kept me alive.
This particular morning during one of the school holidays. My two siblings with me had gone out. I brought a rope and tied it to my fan and hanged it on my neck. As I jumped from the chair, the rope cut. The thing didn’t work. I kept on trying but it wasn’t working. The last one I wanted to do the last one but was interrupted by the knocks on the door by my siblings. Day after day, I kept on trying new methods, even using rat poison but it wasn’t working and I can’t just go to the pharmacy to ask them to give me a conc poison. I would be questioned about the purpose of it.
This particular morning in September, my siblings had gone to school and I was alone. I had perfected plans, hung the rope to the fan which I believe it was perfect. As I hung it around my neck and jumped from the chair. Indeed it worked as the rope held my neck so tight. The pains were immense as I struggled for life but still pushing for death. Not until my door was just opened by my landlord. I didn’t remember that I didn’t lock it with keys. When he force the door open and saw my state, she shouted, “Grace.” He started screaming for help. He held my legs and raised me up and people began rushing into the house and I was let loosed and rushed to the hospital. I had already started bleeding from my mouth. I spent 2 weeks at the hospital. Many people came to visit me and gave me couple of advises which I took. My life changed totally. When I was discharged, I sat down and thought about what had transpired in my life and realized it wasn’t worth taking my life. Even when I complained that I had nobody, the world has turned against me. But my landlord paid my hospital bills. My salary was not stopped at all. I was not fired from my job even when I never stepped my foot into the office for about 7 months. My colleagues and boss showed me love. They brought food items for me. To the extent, the commissioner of the state in the ministry I work in visited me. Small me. Who am i. My landlord sef didn’t demand rent from me. He canceled my debts. When there is life, there is hope.
Today, am a confident woman at 38, even when I am still single, I still want to get married but believe my life success is not shaped on marriage vows.
Today, 2015, I have resumed back at Noun to still further my education. I have been able to overcome depression. My soul is happy that I am alive today. I am not ashamed of my status. I am confident in myself. God has helped me and is helping me. My situation is not worse than Job in the bible.
Depression is bad. It is toxic to the mind. Do not allow it eat you up. Stay closer to God because he’s the answer and make sure you share your problems with people.

@OP..... its not a bad idea to help people, but it's just that nowadays people tend to misuse that beautiful attribute of being generous by seeing it as a means of using that person that displayed it..... its too bad that you went through that ordeal but the truth still remains that, as much as you were hurt by that woman, never let it change your mindset about helping others, but next time be very careful.

I know someone who helped a hitchhiker and was later rubbed by same person and his gangs on the road, basically that guy will find it difficult to help someone that is REALLY stranded on the road..... such is life, man tend to prey on another's good behavior making it seem as if that person is weak.

well, I believe EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING, if you really helped the woman from your heart, just believe you did it for God, he'll provide.
to be sincere with you, when I got this story, it was touching. All these. Abeg us not wanting to help people.

It was a happy mood for me when I got the text message. At least my friends won’t get to say that evil forces are following me from the village. I had been a frustrated job hunter, no thanks to the Nigerian Government. After posting us to Zamfara for NYSC. Service year over, getting a job became a problem. I sleep and wake up on job portals. The one wey dey pain me pass be say, I don’t get pass second stage of the recruitment process of the job offers. It looked as something was wrong with my results, or maybe each time I apply, after CV submission, I would hear that they called others but they will not call me.

This particular job got me so happy when I saw the text message sent to me by the company I applied for as a financial officer and consultant. They invited me for an oral interview which I guess was the last stage of the recruitment. I heard from a reliable source that the company only wanted 4 people for the positions would be inviting only 5 people who made it to that stage for the interview. I saw the text on my phone. I read it again and again and again with excitement. It looked as if the evil forces had lifted off their strong hold on me. I made it to the 3rd stage which is the final stage of the interview which was scheduled to hold the next 3 days.

After reading the text message, I jumped off from my bed, brought out my Acube shoe I had been wearing for over 6 years (Poverty na disease, I never fit change the shoe since I buy am). The bottom of the shoe was fast wearing out while the body was gradually pilling. I don’t blame it. I have over used it and I swear, if the shoe was to come into this world again, he won’t allow someone like me to buy it. It would consider me a terrorist, that I tortured. The shoe sef dey beg me make I throway am. My first salary, once I collect it, I will buy a new show. I took it to the shoe maker in my street to further maybe damage or repair it while I ironed the clothe I would use for the interview.

The day of the interview came, no food at home. I woke up as early as 4am browsing online, getting to know about the company that would be interviewing me. I searched more information about them and some likely interview questions. I took my bath around 6:30am. one strange hunger begin catch me. I had only N200 on me which would take me to my destination. I didn’t want to spend it. But wetin I go come chop! I didn’t want what happened the last time to repeat itself. Where I went to Enugu for a recruitment exercise, I got stranded and hunger nearly killed me. I turned to a street beggar just to raise money to buy N150 food. My transportation back home was tedious. I had to follow a big Tipa that packs sand. They were moving from Enugu to Port harcort. I joined them for a free ride. We spent 8 hours on road just to get to Port Harcourt. A journey that supposed to take 2 hours.

I went to my neighbor and requested for a cup of garri and sugar. She graciously gave to me. After loading my stomach with garri, I dressed up, anointed my head. I prayed so well that day with a massive speaking in tongues. All I just needed was a favour from God.

I left my home in high spirit still blasting in tongues. The Taxi car I entered, if not for the way I dressed, the driver and other passengers would have pushed me out, thinking I had gone insane. As I got down to the junction leading to the company, my pastor called me on phone. I had called him earlier to tell him of the interview. So if he had been eating since that week, he should stop and start fasting and praying for me. Once I get that job, I will change his wardrobe so he won’t be wearing the same clothes every Sunday.

I picked up the phone and we talked. I asked if he was still fasting and praying for me. he said he is. He also prayed for me and told me to be nice to people I see. And he finally dropped the call.

As I moved into the entrance of the street of the company, I was approaching the gradually when I saw a woman struggling to start her car. The car developed some fault and a flat tyre. The car seems to me a brand new car. Very clean. Well I just ignored and walked je-jely on my own. Not until I heard “ helloooo, uncle please can you help me out.” I turned back, apparently she was talking to me. “Now when I don dey reach were I wan do my interview,” I thought to myself. But I thought about it for once. My pastor had advised me to do good this period of time. I should sow seeds in people’s lives. Thi might be a perfect opportunity. But another thought came into my mind. Telling me that I should just tell the human that I have an urgent interview to attend to.

I came closer to where the woman was, noticing really that she has a flat tyre in which she brought out another spare tyre to change. I opened my mouth wanting to tell her that I could have helped her but due to the urgent matter I have to attend to that morning, I can’t help. As I want to talk, something in me said that the woman may be one of the workers in the company I am going for an interview. She may even be part of the team to interview me. As the thought just came into my mind, I bought it. I began to reason it while I remembered some few stories of encounters of guys who said they were heading for an interview, they saw a man which his car had a flat tyre. They were patient enough to help out. Fortunately after helping, the man left while they took a cab to the place of the interview. On getting there, it happened that the man they helped was part of the share owners in the company and was part of the team to interview them. He just gave them a waver and automatic employment.

As I remembered the story and some other stories similar to it that I have read. I came closer again and told the woman that I had an urgent matter to attend to but would help out. Looking at the woman, she dressed so cooperate. I felt she would be working in the company I was going for the interview

Time was running and the instructions was that the interview will start by 8am. I was patient and helped the woman with her car, replaced the flat tyre with the spare one she had. The time was still running. After everything, the car started. She brought out water from her car and gave to me to wash my hands. She asked me where I was going, I told her the company and she didn’t say anything. She brought out a one bottle of bobo and N10 biscuit from her pulse and gave to me as if I was a kid. She said she bought it for her kid but she has to give it to me for the job well done. Chaiii, see insult. “You better collect it from her,” part of me said. Maybe she was testing me. I collected it from her and she drove off. I checked my time and it was 8:05am. Na so I begin run to the place. And the woman was even going towards that direction. She no even say make she carry me sef. I got there by 8:11 only to be told that the interview was over. I sat there frustrated with the bobo in my hand. I watched as the company staff walks in and out of the building. I was hoping and expecting to see the woman I helped, maybe she works there. Abi have I been scammed! Its in the Bible ooo. Help your neighbor in need. My own help don lead me into trouble. They said the interview was over. I tried begging and pleading, dem no even look my face. The woman that said she was coming to the place, I waited till 1pm and no trace of the woman. Na so I begin cry ooo. This beautiful job that I was hoping upon, I just lost it. Was it a crime to help again. I was only just a few minutes late na! it took the security to chase me out of the building.

I came to the company building every day for 3 days, hoping that I could find the woman I helped, maybe she works there and she can help me. But for were! The day I helped repair her car was the day I saw her last. Na so I begin swear for the woman oooo. She made me loosed my job. Infact, maybe she’s part of the people sent from hell to stop my progress. After everything I did for her, na only bobo and N10 biscuit she fit give me.

When I came to church on Sunday, I saw my pastor and the first thing he said to me was to remember my promise to him. I had earlier promised that when I get the job, I will testify in church and my first salary, I will divide it into two and give him one. Na that one dey him mind. Infact I even began suspecting him. Maybe he didn’t pray and fasted very well for me. I felt he was more interested in the money I wanted to give than the spiritual help he would render. Na so I just ignore the man. I even change church sef while I still keep on looking for the woman I repaired her car which cost me my job offer. But come to think of it, this is actually a lesson to me.

Jarus:
Thanks. Interestingly, I never knew I had talent in career coaching. Nairaland brought it out of me. I was only innocently sharing my knowledge and experience based on my career on Nairaland career section, alongside the likes of Ajanlekoko. I never set out to be a career coach.

Today, I have written a book, started a career startup with A 3-room office in Yaba, employed someone on full timebasis, coached more than 150 people for interviews of top companies in Nigeria, got invites on Channels TV, LTV, Ben TV UK, Rythm FM Abuja, organized events in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, all on careers.

And i still have my day job. This is just my part time private practice.
hmmmm m... This is indeed inspiring. And please do remember that so many of us take you as role models. And when we call on you for counselling and advice, you will gladly throw in.
Career › Jarus Talks About How They Made Their First Million From Blogging In Nigeria by onismate(op): 7:11pm On Jul 07, 2015
Here is an inspiring story of the founder of Jarus Hub. Most of us know him. quite popular on nairaland... enjoy..

In June 2015, our accumulated revenue from our blog, JarusHub, reached one million Naira. One million naira (not dollar) in two years of running a blog is not big money, as that is what some blogs make in a week, but it appears to have become the fad to celebrate “first million”. We just want to join the fad. But more importantly, we think our experience is teachable.

HOW IT STARTED

In 2007 as a corps member, I joined Nairaland, Nigeria’s biggest online forum with a view to contributing to discussions of interest. In 2008, when I started working in an oil and gas company, I became quite active on careers section of Nairaland, giving careers and job search tips based on my experience.

My contributions sat well with many readers and by 2009, I was voted the second best poster on the careers section of Nairaland. By 2013, I had become hugely popular on Nairaland, especially on politics, education and careers sections, that when I decided to open my independent blog, I had a steady following.

I did some background work before floating the blog, read materials on the internet and consulted well known gurus like Seun Osewa of Nairaland, Jide Ogunsanya of Ogbongeblog and Zainab Ayeleso, for expert advice. I sought advice on everything, from the name to give the blog to the platform to use. The advices given by all of them were helpful, but it wasn’t everything I took. For example, I defied Seun’s advice that I use Bloggers platform instead of wordpress.

I came up with several names like Jarus Arena, JarusHub etc. I finally settled for JarusHub and on March 17, 2013, the blog went live.

I sought out to run a general blog (politics, health, entertainment, news, careers, etc), but within first few weeks some things happened that made me to refocus the blog.

First, because I had (and still have) a 9-5 job, I was hesitant to publish posts on politics because of the sensitivity. I had the network to get me political scoops that will be close to what you get on Sahara Reporters, but I knew that could land me into trouble. In fact, the first interview we had on JarusHub was with Professor Pius Adesanmi, a well-known social critic, and he came down hard on then President Jonathan and his handlers in that interview. The interview traveled quite far as I got to know that the President’s Media Adviser, Dr. Reuben Abati, read it.

Few days after I published that interview, I tried to interview the CEO of a top bank in Nigeria on her careers, but he turned down the invite, principally because he had seen a recent interview I published and didn’t want to associate with a blog where someone came down hard on the President in a country where vindictiveness is rife.

Second, I realized that articles I published on careers got more views than on other areas. My article, Common Interview Questions & Answer Tips, traveled quite far in those early weeks.

Third, although I can discuss politics, I’m at my best when discussing career issues.

Fourth, I got some feedback from other bloggers I asked to review the website that I was better off narrowing down my niches.

For the above reasons, I decided to focus squarely on careers.

OTHER EVOLUTIONS

The first thing that changed, as I explained in the foregoing paragraphs, was the focus, from a multi-niche blog to one focusing on careers.

The catchphrases and slogans of the blog also changed over time. The slogan I opted for for the blog at inception was “Nigeria’s Blog on the Block”. Later, I changed it to “Bridging Career Information Gap; Mentoring a Generation to Success”. I still use that today, but our favourite slogan today is “The Bridge to Your Career Potentials”. We also use “No one Knows Corporate Nigeria More than We Do”, depending on the focus of the post.

We have also used slogans like “Nigeria’s Most Influential Career Portal”, given the caliber of people we have attracted to the blog and its offline events, and “The Forbes of Nigeria”, given our renown for coming up with Top 10 this, Top 10 that, like Forbes.

When I decided to focus mainly on careers I still found it difficult to drop politics, so I came up with the catchwords “Career. Mentorship.Political Economy”, since political economy marries politics and careers (economy).I just didn’t want to drop the political part.

By 2014, I was courageous enough to fully discard the political economy part, and changed the catchwords to “Careers. Mentorship.Management”. Management and leadership lessons are another area I’m very comfortable studying and writing on, and what’s more, they are close to career. In fact they are intertwined, as top publications that we follow like Harvard Business Review, Forbes etc focus on careers and management.

Today our favourite slogan is “The Bridge to Career Potentials”, while we also address ourselves as knowing Corporate Nigeria more than anyone, on the sales pages of relevant products. “Careers.Mentorship. Management” are our catchwords.

Our About page has been updated more 50 times to take care of these evolutions, just as we have also changed our inception logo to something that reflects our current focus. Of course, the blog design has changed a couple of times as we learned more.

The evolution continues as we learn more. We continue to get opinions on things we can do better. I have had a number of people, including a writer for Forbes Africa, review the blog and offer advice as our journey continues.

CONTENT STRATEGY

I enlisted some of my friends, who are high-flyers in their careers, to write for me. I was writing most of the articles initially and publishing three to four posts per day. 90% of our articles are original and it was only on very few occasions that we republished articles from other sites.

I also used my modest network to get some top professionals for interview. I have interviewed personalities like Nuhu Ribadu, Segun Adeniyi, Pius Adesanmi, Abimbola Adelakun, to mention a few. I have also interviewed CEOs and GMs of top companies like Accenture, StanbicIBTC, Proshare, Global Analytics, etc. The quality of our content made us attractive to people.

Now, I hardly even write again, as I have freelance writers from Nigeria and India in particular, send articles to us for publication. We publish the ones that meet our standard and fall within our theme.

In the first one year of JarusHub we were publishing two to three articles per day, principally to gain traffic. After we had become a little popular, we decided to be publishing once per day, and nil in days we don’t have anything to publish. Now, we publish between four to five articles per week.

As an amateur blogger in the early days of JarusHub, I didn’t know anything about scheduling, I just published an article on the go. Later, I got to know about scheduling, which makes it possible to schedule articles for the next five days for example.

Currently, our articles are usually scheduled for 6pm on weekdays, when we know people are on their way home from work and will likely be surfing the internet inside traffic, and for 5am on weekends, so that when they wake up between 6-8am to surf the net, they find a new article on JarusHub.

WEBSITES WE LEARN FROM

The most important factor that has kept us going is seeing the success of other websites, especially abroad. From Forbes to Bloomberg to Entrepreneur.com, to The Muse to Timothy Sykes to Glassdoor, and other top American websites that deal, in part or full, with careers and related issues, we have learnt a lot.

As a matter of fact, I visit Entrepreneur.com everyday and read the experience of other top bloggers and entrepreneurs in general. I study these websites a lot and I know we can get there too.

PARTNERSHIPS: FROM BLOG TO FULL SCALE STARTUP

I floated the blog alone, but along the line, I read about the need to partner with people. In September 2014, I brought on board two people who made financial contributions.

One of them is an Ivy League school-trained engineer who works in a Fortune 10 company in North America, while the other is a humble digital strategist. Both of them had known me from Nairaland since at least 2008.

We later decided to register a company, JarusHub Limited, as the corporate vehicle for the blog. In April 2015, I headhunted a guy that I had observed from distance as a highly internet savvy individual, and he does the operational part of the enterprise, assisted by a young graduate we hired to assist with running around.

The 4 of us are now partners, and the last guy a salaried employee. I handle the soft resources of the startup as Chief Resource Officer (CRO), the partner in North America handles the international strategy part, the digital strategist guy, who is also in Nigeria but busy with other ventures, is the second biggest financier (after me) and the third guy runs the startup on day to day basis. I only have time on weekends, being one with a 9-5 job.

We decided to open an office in May 2015, after using lobbies of hotels and restaurants to meet clients for the first two years. We shelled out N600,000 for one year office rent, but it is worth the while.

REVENUE

Since we are not a charity (even though our free content qualifies as charity. LOL), we decided to introduce some premium services to pay for our efforts. We learn from other blogs the world over. I made efforts to apply for Google Adsense but it was not approved (and still not approved). I learnt it’s because we have our own direct advert running.

I don’t care much about Adsense, because I know we are a low traffic blog (our daily views averaged 520 in 2013, 750 in 2014 and 1000 in 2014). I know right from onset that I am into authority/expert blogging and rendering services is our bestbet to monetization rather than advert. So we decided to introduce premium services like CV review, ebooks, etc. Later we saw interview coaching as done by similar blogs in America and decided to introduce to it too (we are the only one that does interview coaching in Nigeria today).

In the first year (2013), our total revenue was – don’t laugh – N76,000, principally from a career seminar we organized and sale of ebook. In 2014, it was N126,000, principally from sale of ebook, print book ( I wrote a book on careers) and CV writing services, and within the first 6 months of 2015, we have made about N750,000, principally from interview coaching, bringing our Total Revenue to date to a little more than one million naira. Actually, we made more than half a million naira in one month – June 2015 – which is more than what we made in the previous 27 months of operation (March 2013 to April 2015).

We don’t have Adsense and did not make a dime from it or any affiliate programme.

Again, one million naira is still small money, but we are only sharing this to tell our story and let other bloggers learn from our model, which is authority blogging.

BUT HEY, WE’RE STILL NOT MILLIONAIRES O

Those who know business or accounting know that revenue is not equal to profit. We only talked about revenue so far, we are actually still a loss-making startup/blog, as we have spent more than N2m on the blog/startup to date, which means we are in a loss position.

In other words, we have spent more than we made. Our office rent alone gulped N600,000, not to talk of other costs. So when you see us on the street, don’t think you have seen millionaire bloggers. LOL

FUTURE OUTLOOK

We are not resting on our oars as we continue to provide valuable resources on employability and career advancement which has made Nigerians trust us. We do not believe money is everything, and this is the reason we never rested in providing valuable information to Nigerian graduates despite the discouragingly low patronage of our premium services in the first two years.

We are happier seeing the joy on the faces of people that visited our blog and gained valuable information than in the numbers in our revenue account. This is why our biggest joy is not hitting million Naira in revenue, but our contribution to the career goals of our loyal readers, which is not even quantifiable in monetary terms.

Going! Going! Gone! That was the sound that pumps at the good old days when Bazar sales are done. I was a kid then, so many people anticipate towards the end of the year when there would be our Anglican thanksgiving service. So many members would bring goats, fowls, refrigerators, T.Vs and so many things as thanksgiving offering to the church. After the service, then comes the bazar; were those gifts brought would be sold. I could remember that it was only that period that my daddy normally buys our Christmas chicken because it was sometimes cheaper. And it was normally 2 weeks to Christmas. We would keep the chicken till Christmas day before killing it. Then dad and mum do argue because mum always complained that the chickens were not always big. “Meat no dey dey all those foul,” as my mum would complain.

All that was then. Now, I don’t think bazars in Anglican and Catholic churches was still in existence, not until a colleague of mine who was new in my office. He asked me to follow him to his village for what they tagged, “CHEAP BAZAR, BAZAR, BAZAR SALES AUCTION.” I was confused of what he meant by, “Cheap Bazar, Bazar, Bazar sales auction.” Because me, na the first time I dey hear that kind sentence. He began explaining to me that it was Bazar sales that would be happening in there in their village. He said that there is a church that after their annual thanksgiving, they would gather all that was donated to them and go to their village to organize bazar. They would sell those things at a very cheap rate. That was how he took me to his place and showed me all he bought from the previous year’s Bazar at his village. Almost all his cooking utensils, electronics, he bought from previous years bazar. When he even told me the prices he bought them, na so my head swell up like popcorn. “Shey this guy is joking or he was trying to scam me,” I wondered within myself. How can someone not buy anything in his home, you will wait for one church’s bazar, go there and buy at a very cheap price at the village were the church normally makes the products very cheap and affordable for those rural dwellers. I saw it as a fraud because he was capable of getting those things in the city with his money, his salary too. He’s defrauding the rural dwellers of their opportunities nah. As I was trying to figure out what to make of what he was doing, something in me was telling me that I am being a fool and my colleague was smart because he capitalizes on that opportunity of the church bringing the products to the village, he goes there and buys it at a cheap rate.

After we have talked, I told him that I won’t be coming with him to his village for the bazar to buy anything. I knew I needed so many things in my new apartment, but I just want to buy them in my city. But as time went on, some of my colleagues in the office began to buy into this my colleague’s idea of following him to his village and participating in that bazar. Though he was not forcing anyone; he was just being a nice and cheerful colleague who wanted us to benefit from where he was also benefiting from.

But each time I think about this issue, part of me would always tell me I was a fool and dullard. Upon say I studied economics in school, I couldn’t still do simple economics with the Bazar programme on ground. All that would make me think I am not doing well for not wanting to follow my colleagues to the bazar because I felt it was inappropriate to go take what is meant for less privileged. Because I know with our money, we can double the price of the products.

As time went on, some of my colleagues showed willingness to follow the man to their village for the bazar sales. Many of them wants to buy products at a very cheap price. I later made up my mind to follow

On that day of the bazar, we hired a big bus that would contain 5 of us going and all we were going to buy at the village.

We got to the village that Sunday afternoon. I already had N60,000 on me. Infact, I met wonders I have never seen before. I and my colleagues bought so many items that it looked as if we were the only people at the bazar. At a time the organizers stopped us from buying because we were bidding higher than the villagers which gave us edge to purchase some of the goods. We were so excited buying. The refrigerator I priced for N58,000 at the city was been sold for N27,000 at the bazar. I didn’t waste any time to bid higher to N34,000 which I later finally got after telling my other colleagues to step down for me to get it.

After everything, I bought refrigerator of N34,000, a big flat screen TV set of N20,000. I could remember seeing that kind of TV set at a family friend’s place. The family friend said he bought the TV set for N48,000. I also added a TV antenna to my cart. They said the antenna was a special antenna that receives over 34 channels including CNN, Aljazeera, Silverbird and Channels. I got the antenna at a rate of N5,500. Infact I nearly believed that the antenna could receive satellite channel from Heavenly stations. Imagine connecting an antenna to get to God. Chaiii, na so I begin happy say I don hammer with what I have bought. My colleagues who went with us were happy that they got so many things. My department deputy supervisor bought 73 chicks and the cage for N4,300. He said he would be starting a poultry farm.

Trouble first started when the Chicks my deputy supervisor bought, all of them never got home with him the same way he bought them. Before we could get home, about 49 died on the way. The next Monday at the office, he said the rest of the chicks were dead and he had threw all of them away, it really pained him. Well I told him “sorry.” I never knew my own was waiting for me.

It started after 4 days after the bazar. The refrigerator I bought started misbehaving. The thing stopped freezing things. After over 8 hours of electricity, the water I kept inside the freezer didn’t even experienced any refrigerated coldness. They were all warm. The next day, the fridge would be working electrically but would not cold anything. All the meat, soup and some other things I kept inside it got spoilt. The meat sef was smelling like a dead rat. The T.V sef, its case so bad that when I switch on, it would not on or work unless I use my hand to hit it behind. The antenna case worse. The over 35 channels bragged upon that I would get, i never received any apart from NTA, OGTV(Ogun state Television). Others were Arabian Television. The one that pained me most was a Buddhist channel that they don’t do any other thing rather than show old men and women bowing down to snakes. Shey na the only thing wey I go watch! No other Nigerian channel, only NTA. Not even major international channels.

I took the refrigerator to a repairer and he told me that the problem was internal leakage and it would cost me N20,000 to repair it. After hearing it, I asked myself how much I bought it that I would spend N20,000 in repairing. I was so angry within me that I have wasted my heart earned money on those stuff. Or was God punishing me.

As I was complaining about my own, one of my colleague who bought an hair dryer for his wife’s hair dressing salon. The hair dryer burnt the upper scalp of her customer. It was so horrible that the husband of the customer was wanting to sue.

At a time, I began regretting following that my colleague to their village for that stupid “CHEAP BAZAR, BAZAR, BAZAR SALES AUCTION.” I even began thinking it was all scam because nothing I bought at the bazar seems to be working fine. All the products are bad. The worse part of it was there were no warranty. One of my colleague was of the opinion that the other colleague who took us to their village to buy those stuffs, it was all planned work to give us fake products, that we should report him to higher authority so he could be queried. But to be sincere with you, I have actually learnt my lessons.

Some months later, this my colleague who tricked us into going for bazar, he invited me again for another bazar sales at his village. “For where! I no follow you,” I screamed at him. I spent over a month’s salary at the last one and I was yet to recover from it and he’s trying to take me to another one.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: His Encounter And Weird Process He Got His Dream Job by onismate(op): 8:09am On Jul 02, 2015
Few weeks later, I received a call from an anonymous number. The lady at the other end said that I was invited to their company for an interview which I never even applied for. But she called my name and even many details about me. Na so fear catch me. And the company is a big company in Nigeria and I was asked to come for interview in their headquarters in Lagos. But was surprised me most before the call was dropped was that the lady said I should come with fresh prepared port Harcourt chicken laps. I thought of it for once. An interview, that I should come with 3 freshly made chicken laps. Shey dis people no dey joke abi! I wondered. A day to the interview, I was still worried if I should travel to Lagos and I don’t have or know any close family member were I can sleep over in their place in Lagos. I thought about the chicken laps again. Abi this no be joke. Apparently, I am being fooled just like the previous incident. I changed my mind on going immediately but when I woke up early at about 2am the day of the interview, I wasn’t feeling too good. I was just moved to call the headmistress of my school, taking permission that I would be going somewhere which I was granted me. 5am, I borrowed N20,000 from my wife since I have used my salary to pay debt. I set out on the journey to Lagos. I got to the city By 10am and to the company by 11am after buying 3 chicken laps in Victoria island. Only for the gateman to tell me that there was no interview going on there. Chaiii, I felt like crying. I told him that I was called on the phone. The man sef no listen. As I was at the gate thinking of what to do and how to go back to Port Harcourt, I got a call from a number I didn’t save. The woman at the end told me that I should walk into the restaurant nearby. I started wondering, maybe be this was a scam and I was being kidnapped. I told the gateman about the call. “I no know ooo. That one na your business,” was what he replied me. I summon the courage and went to the restaurant with a straight face that anyone responsible for what am being going through, I would make sure he/she was arrested. As I entered the restaurant, a lady seated at one corner signaled to me to come. As I went to her, I wanted to start to para for this lady but I come cool down seeing the lovely ladies around her dressed corporately. Maybe that was were the interview was holding. I asked the lady if she was the one that first called me some days back but she said she wasn’t the one but one of the members of the HR team. She said I should sit and I sat. I told her that I had earlier gone to their headquarters close by and the gateman said that the company was not looking for workers. She said that indeed that was the instructions given to the gateman. But the vacancy was not made public. I watched as things became confusing to me. Something in me was telling me, “young man stand up and leave this place. You have been over fooled,” and another part of me was still telling me to still be patient.
“Were is the chicken laps,” the lady asked. I began wondering what ladies and the company are asking for chicken laps. Are they that hungry or broke. Or how am I sure that this was a set up to take chicken laps from me because all together they are 3 ladies seated. I asked them why they were requesting for the chicken laps. They said that was the instructions given to them. Na so I carry the 3 chicken laps give them. A voice in me said, “guy, you are just the fool.” Na so this ladies open the package come begin chop am. I was just watching. I don’t even know what to do, whether to react or still keep mute. One of the ladies asked me to tell the gateman at their office to give me 3 bottles of water. Chaiii, see insult, all because of say I dey look for work. I don’t know if I should stand up to go or stay. Everything was just being some how in my eyes. I checked my time and it was going 2:30pm and something was just telling me to stand up and go back to Port Harcourt.
I stood up and went out of the restaurant. I wanted to leave that vicinity but something told me to go and collect the water from the gateman because I saw him holding 3 bottles of water. At that time, I felt that might be a set up. I was about passing the gateman when I turned around and went to him. I told him what the ladies said, he gave the water and I went back to the restaurant only for me to discover that the ladies were no more there. I enquired from the waiters and waitress, they said had just gone out. As I was still standing there in shock, one of the waiters came towards me and handed me an envelop. I opened the envelop and read the content which said I have successfully passed the test and I should go and see the gateman. I was still gazing at the, when I looked up, a beautiful waitress was standing in front of me. She told me that her boss would love to meet with me. “Where is she?” I asked. She told me to go and see the gate man first. Well, na so I rush go meet the gateman. He allowed me in. Na so we climb elevator ooo. We got to the 4th floor and what looks like a conference room was were we entered. Na there I come meet the man that sent me 3 laps of chicken with N600. He’s apparently the boss of the huge company I have been hearing about. Immediately he saw me, “where is my chicken,” was what he said. He asked me to sit down. He said he admired my charisma. “Would you like to work with us,” he asked. Sure, who no like better thing. Why I no go wan work for that kind big company. I told him I would. That was how I got this job. Infact I was employed as an assistant financial officer and analyst in the company. My boss gave me a car and a house in Lagos. He even facilitated the transfer of my wife to Lagos because he said he is a friend to one of the owners of the bank. Na so my life change oooo. Thank God oooo.

Jobs/Vacancies › His Encounter And Weird Process He Got His Dream Job by onismate(op): 8:08am On Jul 02, 2015
Sometimes in life, we never can know how and where God would bless us. That is why he is God.
I graduated from the university hoping to get a good job after my NYSC. But after my service year, it became a hard nut cracking. Securing a job became more difficult like making electricity power stable in Nigeria. One year pass, the second year flashed away, third year moved and I was counting 6 years and no reasonable job was forth coming.
During the 6 years, I used it to write professional exams, ICAN. I tried major and minor oil firms in Port Harcourt were I was based, to see if I could get a job, yet no job. Banks were not left out too. But still no job. I switched outside the state. I began job hunting in other states. I travelled for interviews but yet nothing positive. The only job that was calling was teaching jobs. The best I saw in terms of payment was N15,000.
The day I started the job, I cried bitterly. N15,000! What will it do for me! Infact my transportation from my home to the school in a month would cost me N6,000 and I would be left with N9,000. I encouraged myself, at least I was still staying in my parent’s house. After 6 years of no job, I started the teaching job while searching for a better one.
Four years into my teaching job, I had managed to get married with a kid. Salary had been increased to N25,000. But life has been so difficult for me and my family and we were still staying in my parent’s house. And life in Port Harcourt was damn expensive. Sometimes we have to rely on my wife who works in the bank. The family relies on her salary to survive.
One day, during the school’s long holiday, I was invited for a youth seminar in one of the popular churches in Port Harcourt. I turned it down because for me, it has no end. I had attended many and tried their so called formular but it was not working. So there was nothing new they want to convince me about. The friend who invited me told me it was free, that I should come, I rejected it.
Few weeks later, I was very broke and I needed some money and my wife was equally broke as well. It wasn’t not easy for her handling child’s care while I handle other issues and we just rented our new apartment, and that was the beginning of the month. I wondered how we would survive till the end of the month. I began wondering about in Port Harcourt city looking for who would lend me some money till the end of the month. The ones I met said they don’t have that kind of money. My friend Boni, I didn’t want to disturb him because his wife just gave birth to triplets and he was complaining about money too. I had no choice than to put my hope on him. I went to Boni’s house but his wife and mother in-law said he went out. I called his line but there was noise at the back ground. I could barely hear what he was saying and he couldn’t hear me. He said he couldn’t hear me that I should come to his church and see, that he was in church. I already knew his church. I entered keke and went to see him.
When I got to the church, I discovered they were having a seminar. The seminar that I was invited which I turned down. Boni asked me to wait till after the program. I sat at the back of the church which was averagely filled. People actually came for the Job hunt seminar. As I sat down listening to one of the facilitators speaking. I became angry about what he was saying. Apparently he is rich and has his own company but with a wrong opinion. He was encouraging people who can’t find jobs to go into entrepreneurial programs, have a business and become a boss of your own. It was so good until he started bragging about his wealth and how he started making money early enough in life, comparing it with us. He said the young people of today are lazy and arrogant. During their young days, he struggle hard and within a year, he was able to set up his water factory and began making money within 6 months. He was bragging. And so many people were nodding to what he was saying. In annoyance, I raised up my hand that I have a suggestion to make, forgetting that I came there to ask for money. Microphone was given to me and I began hitting my own points.
First of all, during the speaker days in the 70s and 80s when he and Dangote started their business, the electricity power supply was far better, the cost of starting and a business was low, there was a fair due process compared to now that one spend more to start up a business. Now, one has to check the cost of running on generator because of power problems. Then we now talk of capital to start. In U.S and other developed countries, there are angel investments companies, venture capitalists. The Government are willing to borrow and undergraduate funds withholding their certificates after graduation till the moneys owed are paid. But in Nigeria its not so. One has to sweat it out. You have to be rugged, turgid and resilient before you can make it.
I gave so many points as I analyzed why it is not that Nigerian youths are lazy but there is no good environment for early thriving business. After speaking, so many clapped for me oooo. But that was not what I came for. Though I ate the refreshment they brought because I was terribly hungry. After the program, I was walking out of the church gate with Boni when a man came to us and told me that someone wants to see. I asked who was that and he said I should just follow him. Boni told me to just follow him. I followed him. He took me to a very fine white Range Rover sports car. “Here is it, its my boss that wants to see you.” He said. The left glass side at the owners car side wind down. “Young man how are you,” the man inside said to me. I greeted him and told him I was fine. He didn’t even open the car for me to enter. Even if he did, as clean as the car is, can I even enter inside, fear go dey catch me sef make I no stain the Car because the man fit be Buhari brother. He asked me my name which I told him. He said he liked my comments during the concluded program and asked if I was a financial or entrepreneurial analyst. I told him I was just a primary school teacher. “Then you are really breading future great leaders,” he said. He said due to time and the place he was going, he would have loved to talk with me more. He gave me his complementary card and asked me to call him in the next 2 weeks when he would return from the U.S which he’s on his way to. I collected the card.
Two weeks later, I called and he invited me to a restaurant. I was surprised, not his office or house but a restaurant. When I got to the restaurant, the man sef get body guards. He was there before I came. We talked and he asked me some few questions about me which I told him. He didn’t tell me about himself. He said that was not necessary yet. After much talk, he dipped his right hand into his pocket and brought out N600 and gave to me. He asked me to go and buy him 3 chicken laps at a junction. I looked at the money because it was impossible to buy 3 chicken laps in Port Harcourt. He saw the look on my face as if he felt what I was thinking. He said I should collect the money because he frequents the place so I can buy 3 chicken laps for N600. I collected the money and off I went. Na so I begin find were dem dey sell 3 chicken laps for N600. I enter into another restaurant, some of the customer attendants would abuse me as if I came ridicule what they are selling. The cheapest price I saw was N4,000. Some na even N8,000 and N10,000. After trekking to long distances, I had about N4,300 in my pocket. And I thought within myself, I can’t just return to that man like that. And he’s rich. And the money with me, I want to give it to my wife. I had promised her that money in the morning before she left for work and that was the only money I have which was part of what boni lent to me. I used it to buy the 3 chicken laps. When I got to the restaurant, I couldn’t find the man and even his body guards sef. This one don turn to gobe. Na so I begin wait oooo, an hour gone, 2 hours and no sign of this man showing up. And I had no transport. I spent both the one he gave to me and the one I have in buying chicken laps, rapping paper and what was used in packaging it. I felt pained that I have been scammed. Seated in the restaurant, I saw people eating chicken laps. Shey chicken laps was inside the restaurant when I became a fool to run stupid errand for that man. I took the chicken laps to were I bought it if they would give me back my money but they refused it. So na only me and my family go finish that chicken laps. I thought about how my wife would tore me apart with words when I returned home without given her the money she requested. She has really tried. Both of us are trying but she contributes more and now she doesn’t have, I want to back her up. I had already promised her the money. I had to go out again and borrowed money from a friend. When I brought the chicken laps home. I watched as wife was handling one. She dey chop the thing na so I dey vex because that was what put me in another debt(gbese). I went to bed sad because as I would be receiving my salary for that month, it would be used to settle debt. I don’t know how and were to look for this man make I swear for him.

OK. Cus the way the thing happened was surprising
Babe2sure:
I don't put sugar in my beans.

After eating, one should always wait for the food to digest a little, before laying down. It could cause stomach upset, if you lie down immediately after eating.

The quantity of beans you consumed at a time also matters. Some people are known to develop stomach upset, if they consume too much beans at a time.

I am just giving you two possible case scenario, that could also make one to have stomach upset, after eating beans.

Hunger is bad oooo. That was why it was described that “an hungry man is an angry man.” Because he can do anything to satisfy himself at that moment. No wonder Esau sold his birth right to Jacob in the Bible. The hunger don Nack Esau sote, he forgot the implications of what he was doing when he was giving away his birth right. If not, Isreal would have been “Children of Esau.” We wouldn’t have even know what is called “children of Isreal.” Na that kind hunger na im put me for trouble.

This beautiful Saturday, I came back from a very powerful Night vigil. After a day dry fasting and prayer, I was terribly hungry and I needed something to quench my thirst. After taking oranges with the only N50 I had. After taking the oranges, I was still hungry. Infact I needed a solid food like fufu and unhydrolyzed egusi soup. But were the money dey! I was so hungry that if I could find any eatable thing at that moment, I want it but I had no money. I was in my room thinking what and how to eat for that day, but my new neighbor who just packed into the next room opposite mine. The beans she was cooking, the aroma was making me hungrier. The thing dey scatter my nose. But I don’t know how to tell her to give me some. She just packed in and we are not that familiar with each other. Na only “good morning, good morning we dey.” I can’t just go and start begging her for food. But the food she was cooking, the aroma destroying the evil forces in my system. As I was still thinking and praying that God should provide what to eat, I heard a knock on the door. I was so weak to go open it because of hunger. But I managed to go open it. Behold, standing in front of me was my new neighbor. She was carrying a ceramic covered plate. Well, she told me that she brought the food for me. That I should please manage it. On my mind, I was so happy. Infact I wondered how she managed to know that I was so terribly hungry and the aroma of what she was cooking was killing me gradually. She was even telling me to manage it. I opened the plate and it was beans and plantain. God don butter my bread. I thanked her before she left. I firstly poured the food into my own plate, washed hers and returned it with great thanks believing and hoping that that kind of her gestures would continue. I went inside and devoured the food. To be candid, the beans and plantain sweet no be small. That I began wondering what she used in cooking it. It tasted so sugary.

After eating, I laid on the bed and slept off. Only for me to wake up 9pm with heavy stomach upset. My stomach was making different kind of noise as if the legions of demon Jesus casted out from the mad man in the bible, all of them entered inside my stomach. It looked as if the demons were running around inside my stomach. My stomach was running like tap water that I stood up and went to the toilet. I came out and thought it would be over, I never knew that that was just the beginning. Before I knew what was happening, I was in the toilet for the 7th time. As I was coming out, the thing began again, I have to go back to the toilet. All the buckets of water I fetched before going for my fasting was finished. At a time when it got to about 12 midnight, I just had to remain inside the toilet till day break because I saw no reason of coming out and running around. As I will be coming out of the toilet, my belly will be rolling again, so what was the need of coming out! I remained in the toilet. Na so I begin regret. Na who send me. If I had known I should have just endured the hunger ooo. I believed it was the food my neighbor gave to me that was causing my stomach upset. But was it even a crime collecting and eating my neighbor’s food! Na so I begin swear for my neighbor. This girl wan kill me oooo.

In the morning, I was tempted to ask my neighbor how she cooked the food she gave to me because I felt it was what caused my running stomach. I saw her leaving for her work and called . I told her not to be angry ooo that her food was so delicious and she should tell me how she prepared the beans. I got the shock of my life when she began telling me, and she told me she added sugar and maggi to the beans. I asked why she added maggi and sugar. She said that is how a sweet beans is being prepared. Chaiii, the girl nearly killed me with her sugar and maggi. And I said it because the beans tasted unusual. I used to cook beans nah, but that one was different. I never knew that she added another thing to it. I have learnt my lessons.

Three weeks later, I was in my house and my neighbor brought another beans she prepared. I collected it from her but didn’t eat it. I no wan die. That girl go kill person.
