Politics / Billionaire Ifeanyi Uba celebrates wife, shares throwback photo of their wedding by onismate: 6:50am On Mar 25, 2017
There is no glory without a story behind it. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba, CEO capital oil, billionaire business man and philanthropist is an inspiration to younger generation on how there are no limits of possibility only when you believe.

Ifeanyi Uba who rose from a humble background to becoming one of the people that influences the elements that determines Nigeria’s economy. A politician and former Anambra state Gubernatorial candidate. In as much he’s a business man, he’s also a husband and father of 5. So he also has a romantic side.

I was going through my archives on the internet and i came accross this beautiful letter Patrick Ifeanyi Uba wrote to his wife, Uchenna Uba. He eulogized her. Read what he wrote about her and the throwback photo of them on their wedding day.

“I can remember vividly the first time I set my eyes on her. I was 22 and she was 20. It was not difficult to see her invaluable worth. Within a short space of time and with much excitement, I had concluded she was going to be my wife. At the age of 22, she became my wife after paying her bride price. The blessings she brought into my life started to manifest in no time as I moved into a 2-storey building I built under 2months and 3weeks at the age of 22. To the glory of God, we eventually wedded in 1997 at Muson centre, Lagos. I was 26 years at the time and she was 24 years. All these were rare feats!

From then onwards, the good tidings of love has been evident in our lives. She has been a rock, my solid rock. Her entrance into my life opened doors, shattered barriers, leveled mountains and made me soar. This treasure stood by me through thick and thin, even at my lowest ebb. You see, the bible never lies. As the word of the Lord says "he who finds a wife, findeth a good thing"...In my case, I FOUND THE BEST THING! I would and could never ask God for more. Taking a stroll down memory lane and life as we started it, the struggles, the bliss, the highs and the lows, all the beautiful moments we have shared, there is no doubt that she has been an immense blessing to me”

Here are some throwback photos of them on their wedding day

"I built My first house under 2months and 3weeks at the age of 22." This words are still ringing in my ears.

Politics / Dino Melaye's Comment About Sahara Reporters In 2014 And Now (Photos) by onismate: 6:24am On Mar 24, 2017
When Sahara Reporters got you they have gotten you. The love, sweet relationship between Sowore, Sahara Reporters and Dino Melaye which was once sweet and glorious has gotten sour like a bitter orange.

I could remember 2014/2015, the period of the Nigeria’s general elections. I remembered how Dino fault that GEJ Government. They used media to weaken the administration. Sahara reporters was one of the media used to fight the then GEJ administration by Dino and his group who was campaigning for senatorial seat.
Sahara reporters were dishing out hard blows from their media house against the then incompetent GEJ administration, including lies that at a time many believed the media house (Sahara Reporters) was a media angle of the APC. I could remember that Dino capitalized on that media ground, I guess he even built a relationship with Sahara Reporters owner, Omoyele Sowore that they help messed up some top horns in GEJ administration. It looked as if Dino and his people were the awaiting saints to go into power while the GEJ people were the satan incarnate. Dino melaye went as far as visiting Sowore and the office of Sahara Reporters in Newyork. He commended their good works and gestures for exposing the lies and loopholes in that GEJ’s administration.

He believed so much in Sahara reporters that he said everything concerning the media house, their stories are truth and fact. The love between Dino and Sahara reporters was overwhelming that the news media forgot about his sins and concentrated on GEJ’s people. No investigation on Dino and he was smiling, smiled to the senate seat as he won the elections.

Now imagine how time flies and how things have changed. Sahara Reporters have remember Dino Melaye and exposing some many secrets about him. Am sure Smart Adeyemi is silently watching and warming up. The once sweet love between Dino and SR has gone sour. And Sahara Reporters is a media house that when they come for you they must sure they get to the root of the matter. As they throw it to you, you dodge it they are bringing another one and they won’t rest until your image is tarnished and messed up. I have to give it to them (Sahara Reporters).

Presently, its #DinocertificateGate. Did Dino actually graduated from ABU Zaria in Geography department as first degree as he claimed? Dino also claimed he had a degree in Harvard university and London school of Economics (LSE), in which the two prestigious institutions have disowned him. The both institutions has come out to say that Dino never was a student in the institution. LSE claimed there was no record on Dino melaye in the institution while Harvard claimed the senator only attended a one week seminar at the institution. ABU Zaria that is in our backyard here is yet to release a statement concerning the issue. All these exposures courtesy Sahara Reporters.

Sahara Reporters don remember Dino and na him matter dem go die put. Presently, Sahara Reporters are doing more investigations and Nigerians are waiting for more exposures. Well I wish Dino goodluck.

Check out the below photos, when Dino Melaye visite Sahara reporters office in Newyork. He even met with Sowore and commended there good works. That was in 2014 when SR forgot about his sins. Now SR has remembered Dino for good.

Religion / Apostle Suleman Sex Scandal: What I Learnt From The Incident About Nigerians by onismate: 5:35am On Mar 16, 2017
MOD you can push it to the right section if it's not good here.....

We are yet to see the end of the controversies and scandals trailing the General overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson suleman. A Canadian based lady had accused him of infidelity, lasing her drink with drug to abort the baby she was carrying for him.
The Auchi based man of God has been accused of sleeping with female members, Nollywood actresses while taking them around the world and buying them latest cars, houses and accessories.

Well am not here to judge but from the controversies trailing this man of God, these are Nine (9) Things I have come to learn from this incident.

Nigerians worship their religious leaders: We Nigerians worship and hold our religious leaders in high esteem. Some of us don’t see them as human being that can err. No one is perfect. We worship them like God and believe almost everything they say, even when they are lying.

People are always waiting for your downfall: No matter how good you are there are many awaiting your downfall to laugh, mock and insult you. Presently, no one is remembering that Apostle Suleman has and still given millions of Naira to less privilege and those who don’t have. Every one dey bash the Man. Some say na prostitutes, hoes he dey give money.

Nigerians believe almost everything on the media: The easiest way to tarnish someone’s image, turn people against them in Nigeria is by using the media.
Once you go to the media to say evil about someone, Nigerians will bash the person, crucify them without hearing the truth first. Nigerians believe almost everything they hear on media. Am not saying that Nigerian media don’t tell the truth but sometimes they lie a lot. Dem go add pepper, salt, maggi etc.
Some Nigerian Men of God are fake and evil doers (so beware): Some Nigerian pastors are fake and evil doers. They are hypocrites. They don’t practice what they preach. They will tell you something and do another thing. And some of them do evil in the secret. Some men of God womanize, smoke, drink while they feed their congregation with lies.

Some men of God believe they are Higher and better than their members: Some so-called pastors loved to be worshiped like Gods. They believe they are higher beings and creatures to their members. Some of them, when they commit something bad, they wouldn’t want to admit to their errors. They don’t like to be questioned.

Money and women are the easiest way to the downfall of a great man: If you want to bring a great man down, two things you can use is money and women. So many of our so-called men of God are womanizers. They sleep with their members and defraud them of their hard earned money. In the last few years now, you noticed that most men of God that have had scandals is either women or money.

Some women are special assistants to the devil: Some women are just special assistants to the devil. They are deliberately sent to destroy weak and faint men of God. If dem no tarnish the men of God image dem no go rest.

Nigerian media doesn’t Practice investigative journalism: Am not supporting anybody, but are you telling me that all what Sahara Reporters and Stephanie otobo said about Apostle suleman are all true. Is there no way the media can investigate this matter to know the liar and the person telling the truth between these parties. Most of what the media does is to copy from the first source and paste on their own platform. I’m tired of hearing things like, “anonymous sources,” or “sources say that,” mention their names.

Nigerians, we are hypocrites and quick to Judge others: With this Apostle suleman’s situation, so many of us does worse but we condemn other people. We all are human.

Finally I will like to encourage us to stop worshiping our pastors like God. If you need anything go to God in prayers. Am not saying all pastors are bad, but when they tell you anything, confirm from God first.

“Loyalty is the key to eating a better royalty attached to a good act.” But sometimes the key may not open the door and royalty becomes useless. Sometimes the fact you are loyal doesn’t make you a benefit of royalty attached to your act.

February 2015 I finished my NYSC in far not. I returned to Lagos for good. One of my late dad’s very close friend when he was alive had promised me a slot in his company after my service. He was a very good friend of my dad. His name is Mr Earnest (not the real name). They did business together. If not for daddy’s death I’m sure my dad would have gone far.

Na so I return to lasgidi make I come start work for my Earnest company. Only for me to be told that there was no slot for me at the moment. He (Mr. Earnest) said I should exercise some patients, that they would recruit the next 2 months. Since he was a family friend, a trusted friend for that matter! So rather than staying at home doing nothing, being an engineering graduate and it was an engineering company. I decided to come to the company daily in which Mr. Earnest didn’t see any wrong in it. So I came to the company and sometimes I was talking to field. Na so e start oo.

Every day, I go to Mr. Earnest’s house, sometimes I wash his cars in the morning as he prepares for work then I drive him to work. Sometimes I stay at his office and help draft out estimates and some oversight functions. I was practically like his personal assistant (P.A). Yet I wasn’t made a staff, not even half-staff or even on contract. The only thing I was benefiting was feeding money daily and no stipends or allowance at all.
Months came and went and yet Mr. Earnest would still tell me to hold on that the company will soon recruit. But sometimes I see new faces which I ask from some few staff and they will tell me the new faces are new recruits. “But how come this man (Mr. Earnest) would tell me that the company was yet to recruit, but i see new faces almost every two months in the company. Apparently I was engrossed in the thoughts of the good life and huge salary I will earn monthly that I was so blind to see that time was going. And that nobody owes me anything. I was supposed to believe in myself and move out rather than depending on someone who isn’t sure.

Mid 2016, my girlfriend was angry, even my mom too. They feel maybe I had been hypnotized and made to stay at Mr. Earnest company for a year and yet to even achieve anything. And truly I never achieved anything but a few experiences. But I work myself as if I was a staff of the company. People who don’t know might think I was a staff but I wasn’t. Infact they don’t even want to fix me anywhere.

My mom asked me to leave there because I wasn’t paid any salary or any compensation. It almost brought fight between I and my girlfriend because she wasn’t satisfied with me there because I wasn’t gaining anything materially or financially. I was only working tirelessly in the company and sometimes go to Mr. Earnest’s house and wash his cars, I also help his family do some chores, drive the kids to school and bring them back. I did all this job with all my heart as if it was mine. But with all my girlfriend, mom and other siblings told me to stop and leave there because it was obvious the Earnest family wasn’t willing to help me. Still I maintained that I wanted to be patient a little while.

I confronted Mr. Earnest to remind him of his promises, “as if he was my God.” He said I should exercise patient that the company was going to recruit new staff to join the workforce since his trying to diversify and expand. Na so I begin happy because I was going to have the opportunity to be staffed.

A month later, Mr. Earnest sent me on an errand to Ibadan for work with some of the staff. We spent five days and returned. But I didn’t visit the office. I joined some of the workforce on the field for a project which lasted for 7 days. When I returned to the office the next Tuesday morning, I met a little crowd at the company’s gate. Well-dressed young guys and ladies with envelopes in their hands. Na so I ask one of them wetin dey happen. She said that the company was recruiting and they asked that applicants should come to the company to submit their CV in person. “And Mr. Earnest never told me anything about it,” I thought to myself. I went into the office and as some staffs in which they confirmed the company was recruiting and that day was the deadline. One of the staff said they started accepting CVs two weeks back. I was shocked because I wasn’t aware. I called Mr. Earnest since he wasn’t at the office that moment. I asked if I should apply, thinking maybe he was going to tell me not to because I was the special one. My case will be treated specially and differently. “But for were!” He asked me to follow my mates and submit my CV. Na so I rush go print my CV come give the HR. The role I applied for was an engineering related role.

A week later I was invited for an interview and I went like my mates. We were about 40 that came for the interview. I was happy and confident that at least I was going to stand a chance since I have been unofficially working in company for a year, plus I have experience and knows much more than other applicants. And it was senior workers whe were the interviewers.

When it got to my turn, it was fun when I walked into the room. I wasn’t scared. Infact they didn’t ask me much questions as they already knew me. It was like a friendly chat which lasted for about a minute and I was asked to leave since I was the special one.

A week later I and some other staff of the company went to Port Harcourt for a construction work which lasted for 2 weeks. After the work I wasn’t giving anything, as usual that’s how it’s been happening.
When I returned to the office I saw some of the people I did interview week at the company. I asked about two of them and they said they resumed two weeks back, the interview was successful. One of them asked if I was asked to resume that day because she never saw me after the interview till that day. I couldn’t give her an answer because so many things were going through my head. I felt maybe because I was not around, I was successful and my appointment letter will be waiting for me. I went to the HR department only for me to be told that the company hired 14 out of 40 applicants they interviewed and I wasn’t one of them. Immediately he said that, I was just down casted. It just looked as if something left me. “So I was not hired?” I thought to myself.

I waited for Mr. Earnest to come to work. He came and I went to meet him at his office on my job. He said he was aware I didn’t make it and it wasn’t his fault, I should try later in the next two years they will recruit. “So make I come wait for next two years! Abi na there I wan old die?” I left his office so sad. I began regretting. My family was right all along. I had wasted over a year licking and cleaning Mr. Earnest’s ass without a good thing in return. My loyalty didn’t lead to any royalty. And this is October 2016.

Out of anger I left the office and never returned any more. Mr. Earnest never bothered calling me after that day. You need to see me crying like a baby. Thank God for my family who consoled me because I nearly ran mad. I was just acting weird. I trekked from oshodi to Ajah looking for schools that was recruiting new teachers. I came back 10pm and all my legs were aching me. I couldn’t stand up properly for 3 days.

I was just looking for any kind of job. Luckily I got a job at an event center in Ikeja where they are paying me N40,000. It’s not much but at least it’s making me a better person and independent. Unlike when I was at Mr. Earnest’s company, I was still begging my mom N100 for recharge cards most times. I believed I will soon get a better offer.

So my people, sometimes too much loyalty can make one look stupid and foolish. I believe you will learn from this story. I am not saying you shouldn’t be loyal, but don’t allow your values to be edged to the wall. Don’t allow yourself, self-esteem to be defeated because of your loyalty.

Romance / How To Be Be A Fake Big Girl On Social Media by onismate: 6:54am On Mar 09, 2017
Social media is a place where so many people live fake lives, a life of make-believe different from their reality.

Nowadays, some girls are in competition with their fellows over who is more beautiful, richer, has the most flashy car, house and cash, all on social media. Some girls we assumed to be very rich and classy on social media because of the kind of things they post on their timelines. Some of them are not near rich at all. They are just fake big girls on social media. They live fake lives, trying to make people believe they are rich where as they aren’t.

But wait a minute! Do you want to be like those fake big girls on social media? Do you want people to see you as being rich, classy on social media? If your answer is yes that means you want to be a fake social media big girl. Here are 5 steps to being a fake social media big girl.

You must know how to tell convincing lies
: Not everyone knows how to tell convincing lies. Some people can tell a convincing lie that you believe they are telling the truth. For you to be a successful fake social media big girl, you must be able to tell convincing lies with what you post. Even though it’s not real, make your friends and followers believe it’s real with your posts on social media.

Use a lot of filters, photo apps: Most girls are more beautiful on social media than in reality. How will you market sell? How will people see and know you if you don’t use photo apps to influence the pictures you post. If you no fine for social media, your big girl no go too complete. I have a female friend, when you see the photos she uploads on snapchat, gush they look heavenly. You will even think she deserves to compete for miss world and no one can beat her. But come see her for real life, she’s just far from what she uploads. Special thanks to photoshop, filters and other photo applications. They have been saving so many ladies.

Make sure you always upload fine pictures in a good environment daily: Who will listen to you if you only snap pictures close to a dustbin or rough and dirty area. You have to make people believe you stay in paradise where there are no dirt. If you visit any beautiful serene environment, make sure you take pictures there. and make sure the pictures are fine or use photo apps to make them more beautiful before uploading.

Upload photos of you holding stacks of cash: This will make people believe you so well and fall for your tricks. It will definitely draw attention to you. Even if it’s N10,000 you borrowed from someone, spread it on your bed and lay close to it with caption like, “when money no be problem.” Guys go dey follow you. Linda ikeji blog go join follow you sef to find news. If blogs want to write about you, they will start with something like this, “social media big girl.” And make sure you do it regularly, uploading a photo of you with cash.

Take pictures inside fine cars
: Don’t go and start taking photos inside danfo or keke oo. You take fine pictures close to fine cars, inside the cars when you are holding the steering as if you are driving. Fine cars like Range rover, G-wagon, Bently, Rolls Royce and others. You are giving your followers impression that you are big and deal in different cars.

Upload photos of any kind of beautiful delicacy you eat
: Don’t go and upload photos of the garri you are drinking oo. Visit your friend’s place and if they cooked fried rice and all other delicacies that are pleasing to the eyes. Delicacies like Chinese rice, pasta. Put them online. You are making people believe you are Americanah and you don’t eat local delicacies. Do it regularly.

Post Photos of any expensive accessories you buy: Every expensive accessories you buy, snap them and post them online for people to see. Fake social media big girl for sure nah. E go give people impression say you get money and fit afford expensive stuffs. Even if say you no get money for Gucci bag or Denim, go where them dey sell the thing, hold the things come snap picture with am then drop and keep. Atleast you took pictures for show off.

Take photos of you in a very beautiful fine house and upload: Don’t go and take pictures in face-me-i-slap-you houses. Just go to Maitama, Asokoro, all those fine areas. Jobs/Vacancies / Relocating To Lagos? Here Are 13 Things To Note About Job Opportunities In Lagos by onismate: 5:50am On Mar 07, 2017
Lagos is a big city full of many job opportunities. And guess what! If you can hustle and succeed in Lagos you can succeed anywhere. But there are things you need to be aware of to help you leave in peace and have better job opportunities in the city.
Here are 13 things I wasn’t aware of before relocating to Lagos for job opportunities.

Transportation fare to your work place can consume 80% of your salary: Lagos is not like any other smaller cities. Transportation cost to your work place can take 80-90% of your monthly income. So many workers stay far from their work place so they spend more on transportation daily.

Verify before going for any job interview
: When invited for any interview try to verify, look for information about the company before going just to avoid fake, scam job opportunities and kidnappings.
Giving out your mobile phone numbers to online or offline job forum is like an invitation to so many fake job opportunities: Am not saying that both online and offline job forums are bad and fake but here are too many of them out there. Many of them are fake. They will request for your email and mobile phone numbers. Most of them when you give them your email address and phone numbers, you are just inviting the devil and thousands of his demons to visit you and feast on your head. Because they will keep sending you fake job interviews, invites and job opportunities.
Your mobile phone should be on your hand not your pockets most times: I won’t forget a bad experience I encountered some few months back in Oshodi. My phone was in my pocket and within minutes it wasn’t there anymore. I have been pickpocketed. And I was expecting an important call and invite. In Lagos, make sure you keep your phones safe. After my bad experience, I have come to learn that some places I find myself in Lagos, I always have my phones in my hands.

The fact there is an office doesn’t make it a real job: I was invited for an offer some few months ago. I was so happy and elated that I make enquiries concerning the company online. I saw they have offices in some area in Lagos. Not until I went on the day I was invited that I discovered they were scam. They were demanding money from job applicants. Na so I run. Some gullible people paid ooo. So the fact a company has an office doesn’t really mean they offer a real job opportunities. So be careful.
Half of the job opportunities you are going to apply for in Lagos are sometimes not real: I have sometimes wondered why I keep on applying for the same job position for 5 months. The company will bring up an advert for the job role and I will apply. The next month they do the same. Another month the same thing and no interview yet. Sometimes they even call for interviews. And I begin to wonder, “have they not gotten the right person for the job?”
Sometimes the company must have selected their preferred candidate but will still go ahead to interview and waste the time of other candidates just to look as if they are genuinely recruiting.

Job opportunities in Island pay more than Mainland: I never knew this till I confirmed it that most big multinational companies are concentrated in island and they pay more than companies on the mainland.
Getting a job in Lagos is easy but stressful but getting the kind of job you want is not easy: Getting a job in Lagos is very easy. Yes easy! It’s easy to get any kind of job but to get the kind of job you love, want and be very comfortable and satisfied is not so easy. It’s not easy but very stressful.
GNLD, scam and fake job opportunities are mostly mainland concentrated: The most fake jobs and interview we come across in Lagos are most done on the mainland. I guess island is too expensive to harbor scam and fake job opportunities.
Degree is Good but you still have to be “street smart”: You have a degree, “yes its good,” but street wise you have to be smart to survive job hunting in Lagos. I realized I was not the only one looking for job and the best are not the ones getting the job but the ones with the right information which in turn gives you that street smartness.
Street smartness I mean is being aware of what is happening around you. Many jobs are not advertised but from “hear say.”

A job might not give you satisfaction but provided it pays your bills just keep doing it: At first I was doing shakara and rejecting some job offers because I wasn’t going to get satisfaction from it. not until my staying at home jobless was becoming permanent, and I came to realize that some people receiving huge salaries in the jobs are not getting satisfaction but due to it pays their bills they have to continue. Na so me change oo. A job might not give you satisfaction but please keep it provided it’s paying your bills.

You don’t need to receive monthly wage of N60,000 above to realize you have a good job: When I was offered N60k per month salary in a company, I cried foul because the money wasn’t enough. Not until I saw some other people in other organizations doing the same kind of job and paid N40k and are happy. When you see them you won’t even know and I began wondering how they do it. Ask them and they tell you they have a good job.

So many people that dresses cute and works in big companies don’t earn big salaries: When I newly relocated to Lagos, I made a friend with a lady who works in a bank, and I must say one of the things I noticed about her was her sense of dressing. She has a good dress sense that I began almost believing she was a top officer in the bank. She dresses cute each time she’s going to work. I noticed it because we stay in the same compound. Not until we became very close to her and she opened up to me that she earns N40k per month. She was earning N60k but the bank reduced the salaries of staff due to recession. As she dey tell me na so my mouth open dey look her. Thank God fly didn’t enter my mouth.
I also know of others who work in big companies but earning small salaries.

Politics / EFCC Replies Deji Adeyanju Over N24b New EFCC Building Complex by onismate: 7:04am On Mar 04, 2017
Mehn I must confess, the person handling the EFCC official twitter page is something else. Dolling out epic responses to comments and questions. If you want to get entertained in a professional and official manner, you just need to follow the EFCC official twitter handle.

They say all works and no play makes segun a dull kid. EFCC may be playful on social media with the kind of responses given to people. But in reality don’t mess with them because they will come for you.

Check out this epic reply EFCC gave to PDP media official, Deji Adeyanju on twitter. Deji who claims the EFCC spent N24b on their new office while Nigerians are starving and can’t afford to eat good food. Check out EFCC’s epic response to him. It’s so hilarious..

Phones / The Too Many Lies And Fake Lives Being Lived On Social Media: My Experience by onismate: 5:40am On Feb 25, 2017
Yes, so many people will agree that the greatest liars are Nigeria politicians. But guess what? I have come to discover that the greatest lairs are found on social media. 90% of the reality we believe we see on social media are all lies. Even politicians are using the social media to lie to us. And many of us believe the lies.

I am writing this to air my views because am a young man of this generation. This is a generation of internet, and it involves social media. So any one born in this generation must surely encounter it.

People are now using social media to confuse and convince people about a good life they are living, whereas it’s just fake. To those who believe everything they see on social media are true! Now read this. Majority of our friends who flaunt cars, houses and so many accessories and luxuries just to portray a good life. Most of them are just fake. As a young man, looking at all those things puts pressure on us, thinking that our mates we started life together are ahead of us. It brings out negative competition in us. By the way, “who are we competing with?”

Some of the good things people portray on social media are not what it seem they are in reality. People won’t tell you what they are sufferings on social media. They will only give us the fake good life, making us wonder if we are created by the same God, who gives good things to them and allow us to surfer. But if you are smart enough, you don’t follow them. You don’t put pressure on yourself because you are not living your dreams.

Everything in life takes a process. I didn’t say you shouldn’t rejoice with friends when they get new cars or any positive testimony on social media. But that shouldn’t put pressure on you, or make you feel you are not doing well in life. Because some of them are just make-believe to look as if they are progressing.
Few months ago a friend of mine was currently uploading, updating and changing profile photos on Facebook. She floods her timeline with pictures and write-ups of her in the sophisticated office. Then comments was pouring in on her page. She would upload a photo of her in suit with a macbook on the table, then with caption, “work today was great. I and my team completed the task” Then come and see comments like,
“boss chick you too much.”
“Abeg connect me”.

At a time I became sad in my spirit. This na the girl wey we finish for the same department ooo. She go come upload picture wey she dey inside one big car. Comments go come they flow. People go dey congratulate her, “congrats on your new car.” Or na her picture wey she dey infront of one big mansion. Na there I come begin pity myself. I was so angry in my spirit because I was just an ordinary school teacher receiving N10,000 while this lady has a new car, house and many things. I no dey jealous oo but I was pained that Baba God was yet to pick my call.

Na so I humble myself send her message. Before she even reply me sef. It took her one week, as if she no know me again. We chatted for about a week and I begged her to help me, link me with a job. Na so she say make I send my CV. Na so I send give her. Since that day she no dey dey respond to my messages or calls. But she go dey post pictures of her on different locations for office. Na so I gather myself come move on with my life.
Day after day I go on social media and see guys we graduated together in university giving positive testimonies. Some new cars, houses, accessories and different stuff. So dem take picture for abroad, some marriages. And I began wondering why God has just abandoned me like that. day and night i keep on praying to get a green light. Motivation to teach my students was low. I began having negative thoughts.
“I wished I had done Yahoo yahoo”
“I wished I have listened to my friend who wanted to help me go to Malaysia.”

All that put pressure on me that I was applying for so many jobs without thinking if they were genuine or not. I just wanted to make it and start posting my own photos online about me being in my big, fine office. I just want to have that extravagant wedding and post photos on social media that I have arrived. I want to buy the latest cars and give my followers the photos to see. I just want people to see my own positive progress.

The pressures were too much that I became a victim of scam job appointment, that I travelled all the way to Abuja from Lagos overnight for a supposed job interview. I slept in the pack for two days with the last card I had. Only for me to discover it was GNLD. Gush I wanted to cause myself. i didn’t take my bath the 2 days I spent there. I had to beg for money before good Samaritans gave me which I used for transport back to Lagos.

I ventured into Ponzi schemes. My first time into it was when they froze the accounts. I lost money. I was just desperate to be like my mates on social media. I didn’t want to appreciate myself the way I am. The fact that I have not made it, that those not mean am late.
Early January this year 2017, I was called by a friend that a company needs the services of a computer Engineer to fix some of their computer systems. Na so I go oo. My paddy carry me go there. The company was so huge that I was imagining working there. I saw my female friend who has been posting pictures of her on Facebook. I saw her in the company. I tried being friendly and greeted her. You need to see the way she snubbed me. She did as if she doesn’t know me. Chaiii, e just be like make ground open swallow me that moment. Because she did it in the presence of some workers. E just be like say I wan toast her. Na wetin people go dey think. Shame come dey catch me. Na so one of the staff carry me go were their computer wey dey malfunction.
After I finished working on the computers, one of the staff asked me to please help them install some few apps and Iroko Tv in one of their boss’s office. He asked me to get some things from the offline agent at the Iroko boot close to their building. And I actually saw the Iroko boot not too far from the building. One of the staff followed me to the boot. When I got there I met this my female friend there. She was shocked. Na so she carry face put for ground. Me sef come dey wonder. The staff that took there was explaining to her and talking about Iroko subscriptions. It was all obvious she is the offline agent there. Me wey dey think say na big office she dey work. I no know say na Iroko offline agent for boot she be. She go come dey upload photos wey she dey inside big office. So na that big company she dey go snap.
When we left there, I was asking the staff if the Iroko boot which my female friend was working in was affiliated to their company. Na so the guy sy “no ooo.” Say the company just dey patronize the Iroko and the girl dey sometimes come inside the company come help set some few things up about Iroko.

So you see, social media and lies. Even some of our celebrities dey lie. Uploading fake pictures and testimonies. Some of the things we see on social media are not what they are in reality. The most beautiful ladies are on social media. When you see them in real life they are not much cute but after filters and so many applications being worked on their photos, they come out so beautiful that the most beautiful angel in heaven will be wondering if he’s even beautiful.

So many of the friends uploading pictures of the cars they are driving on social media, I have come to see few of them in real life and discover they don’t even own a bicycle.
With all these, I have learnt not to put pressure on myself.

TV/Movies / When Bisola Realizes That TTT Is Married With Kids (Photo) by onismate: 6:30am On Feb 22, 2017
For those following BBNaija, am sure many of us are aware of what is happening in Big brother Nigeria (BBNaija) house. Thin Tall Tony (TTT) who is married with 2 kids denied he wasn’t in any relationship.

When asked by his in house lover and fellow contestant, Bisola is he was single, his reaction was in affirmative that he is single by the special grace of God.

Bisola on her own is a single mother who has admitted to that in the house. But am sure no one except the fake house mates of Efe and Jon are aware that TTT is a married man.

Well BBNaija is a game and N25m is as stakes and everyone in the house is playing the game. But what will happen when Bisola realizes that TTT is a married man? Am not condemning anybody ooo.

But Here will be Bisola’s reaction when she realizes TTT is a married man with kids after the show. Check the photo.. Lolz. Na joke be this oo

Phones / Re: FG Bans Open Registration Of SIM Cards by onismate: 7:26am On Feb 16, 2017
Many things about this Government is just bent on frustrating it's citizens. Don't they know that this act will breed unemployment. Most young guys and ladies under umbrellas doing sim registration does it to earn a living, put food on their table. So wetin those people go do now? Rather than stopping this, I suggest that FG look for a way with the telco companies to strengthen and authenticate sim registration so that attackers and bad people won't make use of the act to commit crime

Romance / Here Are 3 Deadly Weapon Women Can Use As Self-defense Against Rapists by onismate: 4:30am On Feb 13, 2017
The number of rape cases in Nigeria is massively increasing. Every day we hear of different cases of rape on the news. The one wey dey pain me pass na Papa raping his own daughter. This case is becoming rampant.
Often, we do hear of young ladies walking in the street while unknown guys just hijacked them and rape them. It looks as if women are now weak. They struggle to defend themselves but all to no avail. The dubious guys still forced their way in.
The rise in teenage rape cases is unbelievable and this must stop. Even though the woman are weaker sex, I think they should be encouraged to bear deadly items to prevent themselves in self-defence.

Pepper spray: This is a chemical compound that irritates the eyes and causes pain and temporary blindness. It is often used to control crowds and policing, including self-defense against attacks. The pepper spray is one of the perfect self-defense weapon. If you are getting robbed, beat up and about to be raped, you need this.
Note- Please do not abuse the use of it. You do not just go around spraying anyone or guy pepper spray. Use it when it’s justified.
If any guy wan rape you, bring the thing come out come target am for eye. Spray the thing for him eye. Sometimes when you bring the pepper spray out of your pulse, the hoodlums trying to rape you might just stay away just to avoid troubles.

Taser: Yes you need to have Taser inside your bag since the number of rape cases in Nigeria is fast increasing.
Taser is a conducted electroshock weapon used to deliver electric current to disrupt voluntary control of muscles causing neuromuscular incapacitation. It fires two like electrodes which will cause pain and incapacitate a person when fired.
Though Tasers are not common among us here in Nigeria but women needs to embrace it in self-defense against rapists. Imagine that bad guy approaching to manhandle you, bring the thing out of your pulse and fire at him. He will be incapacitated for a while. Leave him there and walk away.

Scissors/Knife: If you notice that your environment is crime and rape prone, make sure you have all these items with you to avoid story that touches. If the guys misbehave, you stab them. If the confront you, stab them.

In all, I still want to advise ladies to be weary of their environment. Be careful and observant and please if you are moving out at night, make sure you have a company, go with a guy. And please don’t be found at odd places at odd times.

Romance / Here Are 8 Ways You Can Touch Someones Life And Be Happy This Valentines Season by onismate: 5:17am On Feb 07, 2017
There had been so many miss conceptions about valentine. Some say it’s about a famous Roman Catholic priest who gave his life for people he loved. While some believe it’s all about the Agape love Jesus Christ has for us. Well, am not here to condemn any believe but whatsoever is yours let it be absolutely positive.
Though some have turned the day to “sin day.” Many atrocities are committed this day which is not supposed. Valentine is not only about romantic love. Romantic love can certainly be wonderful, and there’s no shame in aspiring to it. But there are other kinds of love and relationships that too often get ignored. I think our mindset should be changed which is a first step in changing the world. Celebration valentine is not only showing love to spouse. There other ways to celebrate valentine.
Here are 8 ways You can Touch the lives of people while being unique and special this valentine season

Love yourself: You must show yourself love first before you can love others. How can you love others without loving yourself! This is the time to change our mindset. We have to show ourselves “self-love.” Each and every one of us are unique the way we are. God has created us specially for his own purpose and reasons. So why don’t you love yourself, treat yourself well.
Reach out to your supposed Enemy: Some of us have created so many enemies for ourselves. This is the time to take a bold step and reach out to them and make it a continuous act. I know in life there must be enemies but be you having evil deeds against them. Try and be “just friends” with them. Just squash that beef. A phone call or text message could do the magic.
Reach out to beggars in your area: Some people are not use to giving money or gifts to beggars. I think they should start learning it. There would always be beggars who are in need, genuine ones at that. Because there are fake beggars who are physically and mentally alright but refuses to do any tangible thing with their lives. They rather beg and live off people. Ignore those ones and give gifts to genuine ones. Nothing is too small. You never can tell, that small money or gift can change the life of the beggar.
Forgive those that have hurt you in the past: I know it’s hard but you just have to let go and move on. Pick up your phone and call them. Tell them you have forgiven them if need be.
Reach out to the less privileged: In as much that there is no particular time assigned to reach 0ut to the less privileged in the society, let’s use this particular valentine to make this one special. It’s about showing love so let’s show much, special love to the less privileged, give them gifts, money.
Pay Transportation fare for at least one stranger: You mustn’t know someone to help the person. This valentine’s day, make sure you put a smile on someone’s face. Pay transportation fare for at least a stranger you don’t know. At least you are impacting into the person’s life.
Give a gift To a stranger: Why don’t you put a smile on someone’s face. Someone you don’t know, you haven’t met before. Give a gift to that person. If you still have more you can still extend the olive branch to other strangers. By this act you are making them special and yourself unique.
Get Intouch with loved ones that you have not spoken to for a long time: our family, friends and loved ones are dear to us. Some of them rarely get in contact with us. But why don’t we just take the bold step and call them up. Send them sweet text messages that will make them know we have them in mind.
Finally, everything depends on mindset with which you are doing your things. Have a positive mindset and reach out to many as you can. Happy valentine’s day.

Jobs/Vacancies / These 4 Online Jobs Can Make A Nigerian Unemployed Graduate Rich by onismate: 2:28am On Feb 03, 2017
Getting a job in Nigeria has never been easy unless you have this special connect that can link you. It’s not just easy spending years in the university and coming out to join the queue of those in the labour market job hunting. But not-withstanding, the race it’s not for the ones work the hardest but to those who work the smartest. It’s not easy being a Nigerian unemployed graduate. The shame, loss of self-confidence, that your peers who had gotten something good doing with their lives have left you behind.

If you cannot get a job offline why don’t you try online jobs. Many of them are freelance. I know many who makes a lot of money daily and weekly from online jobs more that those earning a regular monthly salary.

Here are 4 lucrative online jobs a Nigerian unemployed graduate can do to make money.

Content writing/provider: content writing is very lucrative. Presently, blogs, sites and companies are looking for content writers and providers to create contents for their websites and other social media platforms for promotions. So you can actually stay at home and become a freelance content writer. I know content writers who charges as much as N2,000 per article. So imagine you charging N1,000 and you write for about 5 to 10 companies daily. Oga you don make money pass some civil servants. If you are good in writing, why don’t you advertise yourself on social media and other websites like Nairaland. Those who needs your services will get intouch with you.

Digital marketing: All companies needs digital marketers. As business trends are changing, companies, brands are marketing and promoting their brands on the internet so they need digital marketers who can use online avenues and tools like social medias, emails, blogs, websites etc to market their products and services. You can become a freelance digital marketer, promoting goods and services for companies.

Social media manager: So many guys have turned to millionaires by getting paid managing social media handles for brands. Some weeks back, I was contracted by two brands to manage their social media handles, posting daily news about the company and new innovations while seating at the comfort of my house. Ofcourse I was paid for it. If I can do it! You can. Being a Nigerian Unemployed graduate doesn’t limit you delving into other things. You can really make huge amount of money managing many company’s handles.

Blogging: If I for no add this one, e go get as e be. In the last couple of years, blogging has taken new dimensions. Bloggers are richer than some musicians, if you doubt go and ask Linda ikeji. Yes you are unemployed but you can still create your own economy, become self-employed and blog for people. But you just have to be patient to eat the fruit of your labour.

Jobs/Vacancies / 10 Things I Wasn't Aware Of About Getting A Job In Nigeria by onismate: 4:55am On Jan 27, 2017

1. Your First interview might not land you the job
: You just finished NYSC and got an invite from your dream company for an interview. And it’s your first in your first ever interview. From what I discovered, your first interview might not land you the job. Am not saying it cannot “but” might not. As a fresh graduate I was so happy at the invitation of my first post NYSC interview. It looked as if I had gotten the job. I have done the interview, months past and I’m still going to numerous interviews.
2. The fact you were invited for an interview does not mean you have the job: I know many people go dey happy say so-so company invite them for interview. You will come for that interview and after everything you won’t hear from the company again.
3. Experience matters: Yes! Your number of years of experience in other organizations or elsewhere matters a lot. It would determine whether the job will be given to you or not.
4. Your years of experience are sometimes used to negotiate your salary: Many a times you have a laid down plan and salary to give to the company if hired. But forget that thing joor. When they see that you have just a year experience from the previous company you worked. The company would rather hire or pay fat salaries to those who have more experience than those without or least years’ experience.
5. You will meet interviewers who know nothing or less about the job role they are interviewing you for, but yet still argue and deny you the job: I have gone for numerous interviews that the interviewers know nothing much about the job role because it’s relatively new and broad in the industry. Yet they will still argue with you that you are wrong in the answers you gave them. They deny you the offer.
6. You applied for a job role and got the job, more responsibilities the organization didn’t tell you about will be added to the job: I went for an interview for the role of a social media personnel. After the interview the CEO of the organization called me. She started asking numerous questions like, “if I could drive a car?” Because sometimes I will have to drive her around. Some organizations would definitely add more responsibilities and roles to the ones given to you.
7. Getting a good job in Nigeria is not easy: My dear, getting a good job in Nigeria is not easy. When you get a very good job, it looks as if you won a world cup.
8. Some interviewers are the Devil’s special assistants: Some interviewers are just bent on frustrating you. They put you on a very hot fire by asking embarrassing questions. The desperate and gullible applicants often fall prey to them. There are cases where interviewers ask applicants if they are in a relationship and their financial status. It’s so unprofessional.
9. After hiring you, they may decide to sack you and nothing will happen: This one is as a result of our Nigeria’s poor labour laws. Employers threats their workers anyhow and nothing happens. They will sack you and nothing will happen because they know that there are thousands ready and willing to replace you.
10. The best might not be the ones that get the job: This is absolutely correct. After interview, the successful ones might not be the best. The only thing is that luck ran out of the unsuccessful ones, the successful ones were favoured. Na only God fit give favour oo.

Jobs/Vacancies / 3 Most Sort After ICT Job Portfolios In Nigeria (my Opinion) by onismate: 5:59am On Jan 23, 2017
Information communication technology is taking over, making our lives and jobs easier. As new innovations are springing up, job experts in that fields are created to fit into the portfolios. There are some job portfolio you hear, 10 years back whoever would tell you such portfolios would come to place, no one would have believed. But we are seeing it and we have to accept it because they are relevant.

Here are Three (3) hot and new job portfolios in Nigeria at the moment. I call them new not because they necessarily in operations in the last one year, but because it became relevant in the last 2 to 3 years in Nigeria. And it was paramount for companies to have them.

Digital marketer: Every company, brand or organization needs a digital marketer. No company can boost of a huge profit margin without the aid of a digital marketing.

Digital marketing is promoting and marketing of products and services through the internet/online platforms like social media, blogs, websites, search engines, emails and other medium. The rate at which companies are looking for digital marketers to enhance their online presence and dominance is massively increasing. So the job portfolio, digital marketer is very hot currently.

Content writer: Content writer is another hot ICT job portfolio and highly in demand. Content writers provide and develop contents of organizations to help advertise, promote, build and maintain brands most especially online. Any serious company that is into sales of product and services, willing to succeed needs content writer to develop marketable contents optimized for websites, blogs, social media and other digital avenues. This job portfolio is highly in demand.

Social media executive: it’s not possible for you to have the above 2 job portfolios without this unless you merge them together. Social media executive or personnel or managers, depending on how you want to put it, provided there is social media attached to it. This job portfolio is very hot and relevant in every industry. That’s why Government of countries of the world spend millions recruiting social media personnel to handle their social media affairs. No serious organization can go much farther without social media executives to handle their social media affairs.

Jobs/Vacancies / How Being Too Religious Made My Female Friend Carelessly Lost Her Mouth Watering by onismate: 5:34am On Jan 18, 2017
Nigerians, we are too religious, even when we commit too many atrocities behind the religion.

Ask some Nigerians questions about goals and aspirations. I guess we are expecting a realistic answer! But they will be like..

“By the special grace of God I will finish the work tomorrow”

Imagine your boss ask, “Can you finish this job in two days?” and they will be like “By the special grace of God.”

“Are you coming tomorrow?” They are like, “By the special grace of God”

“Do you have the money?” And they are like “By God’s grace”

“Are you making progress?” “By God’s grace”

“Are you washing your clothes?” “By God’s grace”

“Ahhh, your hair is beautiful ooo” “It’s by His grace”

“You came to work too early” “It’s by his grace”

Nawa for us ooooo. Sometimes we can’t just be realistic. But don’t get me wrong. Am not saying it’s not the work or grace of God. But the way some people are going this makes it unacceptable. Even when they commit various atrocities, is it by the special grace of God?

About 4 weeks ago, I and a very good friend of mine went for an interview in a multi-national company. We were 7 in number and my friend was the only female. Even though she is a good Christian and very religious. The interview panel really commended her efforts, smartness and intellect. Though they frowned at some of her answers to questions for not being very realistic and using “by the special grace of God.”

She was asked that if she was given a task to complete in 2 days, would she be able to complete it. She said by the special grace of God she would complete it at appropriate time. Na so interview panel laugh. They asked “How?” or maybe she would use the special grace of God. “Abeg no use special grace of bring down this company oo.” They laughed and joked.

The interview panel gave her a pass. It was sure they will take her. They love her courage and intellectual ability. Though still warned her about the use of “special grace of God.”

After the interview, a week later, both of us (I and my female friend) were the only people contacted to resume. Lucky us. Na so we resume work ooo with a six figure salary. It is just so sweet and I couldn’t hold my joy. Getting that kind of job in this recession.

A week after resumption, apparently the same department. I was in my friends office and we were working on a task when the main boss, the Director of the company and a foreign client walked by. The client’s project was assigned to my friend so she was the one in charge. So I was just there to support.

The director and client walked into the office. The director asked if she was through with the task. “By the special grace of God,” she (my friend) replied.

“Can you finish it in 2 days?” The director asked.

“By the special grace of God,” she replied again.

The director became so angry. I could see it from his facial expression. My friend was almost through with the job. And infact it won’t even take up to 2 days sef. By the next 18 hours, the job should be completed.

The client being a white man was like, “do you need the special grace of God to complete this task?” He turned to my boss (Director) and asked if our company can really complete that task this one we are on the grace of God. I tried to explain that in a few hours’ time we should be through with the job. But the kind eye wey Oga look me. And I was not directly in charge of the task. She (my friend) new that the task will definitely be completed the next day. But “by the special grace of God” didn’t allow her.

Na so my Boss carry the man comot from there. An hour later my boss’s P.A came to call my friend to the Director’s office. Before we knew what was happening, my friend has being fired. She was asked to pack her things and leave. So many including the head of our department was going to plead on her behalf. But Oga no gree. Our H.O.D said she warned her about that the first day she resumed when he asked her to do something. She couldn’t complete it that day. He asked when she will finish the task and she said she would finish it in 2 days by God’s grace. That was when she began warning her about the “By the special grace of God.” She should try to give realistic goals. Not that God is not involved but she should give a set target.

Upon all the begging and pleading, the company no gree accept my friend back. They had to immediately replace her with one of the guy we did interview with. The new guy resumed immediately after 2 days they fired my friend. “By the special grace of God” began trending in the office. Na so my friend lose her job oo. She was fired from her job “By the special grace of God.”
