Family › Trekking Madness: Woman Prevents Husband From Trekking With Their Teenage Son by onismate(op): 10:55am On May 16, 2015
As the trekking syndrome is brewing across Nigeria, almost every day we read on online blogs, media that some people have started trekking, either for President Jonathan or President-elect, Buhari. Sometimes we are being told that they are trekking for Nigeria. Sometimes sef we get to hear that some had just gotten to their destination after a long trek. We no know wen dem start ooo. So many are now joining in the trekking madness.

Trouble started when on Thursday 13th 2015, as early as 6:46am. We began hearing noises from the next compound. The quarrels and noise were intense that people began opening their doors and trolling to the next compound. Na so we(me and my mama) open door enter the next compound make we know wetin dey happen. We met the shock of our life when we got there. A man, his wife and two children. The first child is about 16 while the other should be 13. The wife was holding the man on his trousers with a shovel on her other hand. She was threatening that her husband won’t leave the compound with their first child (16). We thought the man was trying to move out of the house with the child. Not until the woman began narrating that her husband has contacted the sickness, trekking madness syndrome that is blowing across Nigeria. The man who was carrying a school bag on his back wants trek from Asaba to Abuja. He was not trekking for Buhari or Jonathan, but rather he is trekking for Attahiru Jega, INEC chairman for the peaceful conduct of election and for Nigerians also. His wife was not in support. He said he wanted to be different. He wants to trek with his whole family but his wife resisted it. Then the man insisted on trekking with the first child who is the boy of 16. But wife no gree. The woman said he had warned his husband not trek but he still insists on trekking so she felt her husband was free to trek but should leave their children out of it.

The woman threatened to destroy the man’s car if he takes their son on that journey. She was threatening to destroy the man’s car and move out of the house. People started begging the man not to trek with the young boy that he was too young to trek. But the man no gree. He said people he had being seeing on TV trekking were trekking alone, he wants to be different and infact he wished to trek with his whole family but his wife refused. The man also said he had already informed a friend who works in vanguard that would come and interview him that money, to give publicity before he starts his journey. Na so the argument begin again.

Man --- This journey, I must trek it with this boy

Wife ---- Na who send you? Who sent you. I didn’t say you shouldn’t trek but just leave

my children out of this.

Man ---- Can somebody tell this woman to leave me alone.

Wife ----- Leave my children alone. If you travel with this boy. I will burn your car.

Man—You will do nothing. You can’t do more than a dead rat.

Wife – Shebi I can do nothing! Try me nah, just take this boy.

Before we knew what was happening, we saw a car just drove in and people with camera came down. The camera man had “vanguard” logo unscripted on his shirt. They came to interview the man who wants to trek. Na so the woman use the shovel wey dey her hand pursue the camera man, telling him not to have any interview with her husband. Some women began holding the woman. The man still insisted on going on the journey with the boy. Since he had made up his mind. He even gave the boy a school bag which has a Nigerian Logo on it. Their landlord had to tell the journalist to go and come when the family must have settled their issues because that time was the wrong time for any interview. The landlord and some elderly people had to take the family inside their house. Well, I don’t know what happened after that but till today, I am yet to see the man. Maybe he finally started trekking alone.

As the trekking madness is brewing, I have decide to be different. I want to start my own and its swimming. I will be swimming from here to Portharcort in Honour of Patience Jonathan.

Nairaland General › My Hilarious Experience With A Nigerian Policeman While Returning From A Party by onismate(op): 10:03am On May 11, 2015
I love party rice. There is something about the flavor that makes it tastes different, maybe they use a special kind of seasoning or is it the firewood? Or is it that after cooking the food, Angels from Heaven will come and bless the food. That thing dey make me no dey like to miss some party, because of the food. Party food tastes differently.

My friend Tosin was the one who thought me. Knowing fully well that Nigeria is a Country soaked in different kind of parties every weekend. He is always ready. Every Saturday, he dresses up and enters the street looking for where they are having a party. At least food sure for that day. He introduced me to it and I joined in the adventure. Na so I begin follow him ooo. Sometimes, we attend at least 3 parties per day. Na so we go chop oooo, sote sometimes we go begin purge. But we don’t mind.

Na so this beautiful Saturday afternoon we come enter street oo say we dey find party we go attend. We didn’t have any food at home and the only money left with us was N200 which was owned by me. Na so we begin find any nearby party wey close to our area. We never planned to go far. As we were looking for, we discovered there was no nearby party around. It seemed as if the devil didn’t want us to eat party food in that area. “Na were we go come chop now,” tosin asked. Because we were not ready to further than we had. The N200, I no wan spend the thing for transport to find were we go chop. Na so we talk say make we waka small till we found our self entirely almost the out sketch of the town just to find party food. We finally found one, party in an open field with canopies. Na so we enter there ooo dey thank Baba God for the provision.

Funny enough it was a burial ceremony of an old man, Pa Josi who was far older than my great grandfather, 120 years. And “Gone too soon” was written in his obituary. Looking at the Obituary poster, the man or woman that designed the graphics should be given 120 strokes of can. The head of Pa josi looked like coconut. The hair on his head looked like paw-paw seeds. Looking at the posture of Pa Josi on the poster, he looked like one of the old men one can find in Onitsha begging for arms. Looking at his Obituary, 6 wives, 23 children, 80 grandchildren and 187 great grandchildren. This one wan break Abraham record. It seems the gene of polygamy runs in their family that’s why his grandchildren are much. Before the lineage gets to 10 generation, it may exceed a country the way his generation is multiplying.

Well, we found a seat and sat. After a long wait, eba and groundnut soup was served to us. I have never eaten groundnut soup in my life. That was the first time I and tosin was seeing it. We were expecting rice and big meat. But on our table was a watery substance with groundnut seeds inside, with large mass of eba on our plates.

I have a sensitive stomach, in as much I eat, I don’t just eat everything. I dey chop food ooo, but this groundnut soup and eba pass me. I no fit chop am. I looked as the soup was flowing on the plate with the head of fish that looked like the head of agama lizard.

Looking at the head of fish sef, it looked as if it’s not dead. it even looked as if the eyes were wide open and was looking at me as I looked at it.

“Guy you better chop this thing now? If you no chop am, were you go see another food chop today!” tosin said. Considering were I trekked from, with my fine cloth, I can’t just leave the place.

We finally began eating the groundnut soup and eba. The man sitting close to our table was just gobbling his own food into his mouth. He was really enjoying it.

After eating the eba; I and tosin couldn’t even finish one plate of eba. While the man seating close to our table finished 2 plates of eba. As he was leaving, I noticed he went to a nearby car, opened it and entered. I told tosin to hurry up so we could join him. We may be going the same direction. Luckily, we approached him and he was going towards our direction. We begged him to carry us in which he agreed. na so we enter the car ooooh. Barely 10 minutes we entered his car, he said his tommy was rolling. Na so the man talk say shit dey worry him that he was experiencing running stomach. And I began to wonder, ‘why won’t his stomach roll like rolling dollar, after all the 3 plates of eba and groundnut soup. I believed he won’t just be having running stomach like tap water but running of ocean of groundnut soup. I began to imagine how he would look ontop of a toilet seat. The toilet seater go just break. Na only God know wetin he go shit out. That thing na poison, e fit kill microorganisms. E fit even destroy grasses and leaves

The man said he would be branching into his cousin’s own in the Army barrack which is not far from where we were. He was heading there to offload those things inside his stomach. Well, at the mention of barrack, I and tosin were scare. Infact I begin regret why I follow the car. I for don allow the man go je-jely on his own. How sure are we that he is really going to the barrack to poo. Or “may be the army send am make he bring human sacrifices,” I thought to myself. We braced up ourselves and didn’t say anything as he took us. We approached the Army barrack, I was so scared and worried but still kept my cool.

As we got to the traffic junction light. It gave a red signal light. “Chaiii, what kind of rubbish is this,” the man screamed. “Shey they want me to shit here,” he repeated again. But luckily, the green light showed up and he started the car to move. Suddenly, a police officer showed up in our front of our car. “Oga, pack for corner,” the police officer shouted in a harsh tone. I began wondering what we have done. Before I knew what was happening, the police officer was banging his right hand on the car bonnet. “Oya pack my friend,” he screamed. The man driving us didn’t bother to come down from the car. He whined down the car window and asked the officer what he had done. But police officer didn’t bother to listen, “I will shoot you ooo. Just get down,” was what he was saying. Me and tosin were sitting at the back of the car. Before we knew what was happening, police officer opened the front door, entered and sat down. He didn’t even care that he kept us in the middle of the road. The cars at our back were blowing their horns for us to move. The officer threatened to arrest the driver of our car. The driver simply told the police officer to step down from that he was going to poo. Police no gree. Na so my driver re-start him car come move, carry all of us they head to the Army barrack.

At that juncture, the car was on speed. The thing don hold the driver. He can’t just wait for much time to release it.

Police officer ------- Where you dey go ** the officer was asking the driver foolishly**

Driver ----- What kind of foolish question is that?

Police officer ----- You are very stupid. You talk to an officer of the Federal Republic like that? More offence and you will give explanations for this.

Driver ------- Explanation! You will be the one to do that when we get to the military barrack.

Police officer ------ Which barrack! You are taking me to a military barrack?

Driver --- My friend stop asking me stupid questions. You even have the right to question An Army officer. You are in hot soup and I will eat you raw.

By this time all these was happening, I didn’t know whether to start laughing at the police officer or to be sad at what was going on. The police officer truly don enter one chance that day. The driver was fearless as if he was a military man. To add salt to the officer’s injury. I and tosin lashed at him. “Oga police officer, we go take you do pepper soup for barrack today,” Tosin said. “All of una wey dey harass people, God don catch you today,” I said. I brought out my phone from my pocket and started making a fake call. I pretended to be calling a top military officer telling him to arrange some young army officers that would deal with the police officer. By that time, come see as police officer come start to dey beg us ooo.

Police officer --- Oga abeg make una no vex. Infact na your particulars na im I just wan ask from una, no be to arrest. Abeg have mercy.

Driver ---- Na lie ooo. I no gree

Police Officer ----- Oga abeg nah. Have mercy in the name of God. Abeg I no wan enter that barack

Driver --- No oo, I no gree. We dey enter barrack

On hearing this, I and tosin busted into laughter. And the car was in full speed. I and tosin have to beg the driver to let the police officer go. Finally, on getting to the main gate of the barrack, the driver stopped and the police officer came down. The speed in which he used in running out of the place. He ran as if he was been chased. Well he needed it. their harassment is too much on Nigerian citizens. As we drop the police officer, na so driver zoom off go shit for barrack.

Christianity Etc › How A Pastor Gave Him A Huge Amount Of Money Right Infront Of Congregation by onismate(op): 9:53am On May 07, 2015
It was a great sad moment for me. I woke up this particular Sunday thinking about how my life is. It was a new week and I could barely afford N100. I have to go to school that week, feed myself and so many expenses. I don’t even know how to do it. But I believed on God to help me.

I dressed up for church without offering money. And we were having a thanksgiving program in my church. I got the church; the usher didn’t even do me well by taking me to the extreme front seat, just close to the pulpit. And I no come get offering money. I imagined how it will look like if they say, “bring out your money for offering.” And they don’t use envelop in this church to say I could just drop and empty envelop without any body knowing. This one, you have to raise your money up for people to see. And if I say make I comot for that front seat, it will look as if am disobeying the usher. And the pastors they alter dey look. My plan was that when it comes to offering time, I will walk out of the church.

The praise and worship came and went by. It was time for sermon and it was the invited pastor. And it was a very popular man of God I had been hearing about. It was a pleasure seeing him directly from the pulpit. As he mounted the pulpit, he shouted, “How many of you here can give God N1m, raise up your hand.” immediately he said that, na so silence enter everywhere. Nobody gree raise hand. “Does it mean that there is no one in this church who can give God N1m,” he said again. I didn’t know what just came over me that I just raised up my hand. Na so everybody come dey look me for church. Some may just be thinking, “who is this small boy, abi na yahoo boy him be wey him wan give N1m.” My roommate was sitting at a corner staring at me, as if I had smoked unrefined weed, or maybe I was trying to impress one small girl in the church. Because I was complaining that morning that I had nothing on me.

The pastor said I should stand up and asked me when I was going to bring the N1m to the church. He placed the microphone at my mouth so everyone could be hearing what I was saying. “So when are you bringing the money,” the pastor said.

“Well, I will bring the N1m, Next year after my NYSC, I must have gotten a good job and can afford that,” I replied to the pastor.

Immediately I said that, the whole church busted into laughter. I overheard the girl sitting behind me as she said, “this guy nay eye guy. Na next year he wan bring N1m.” As some people were still laughing, the invited man of God said he liked my faith even though I didn’t believe that God can still do it for me to give the money that present time. And he prayed for me that God should bless and increase as people were still laughing. After the prayers, he laughed and turned to me and saying.

“you this boy, I just love your faith. Even when people are laughing at you that you can give it even when you don’t have it.

Before I knew what was happening, the invited man of God called his personal assistant and asked to bring his cheque book from the car and told him to write a cheque of N2m and bring it for him to sign. After the Personal assistant had written the cheque, he brought it to him and he signed it and gave it to me. Na so I come dey look like locuzade. “Collect this cheque from me young man,” the pastor shouted.

All these were happening in front of the whole church. My brothers and sisters, come see as people come dey shout dey jump for church as I collected the cheque. My roommate ran from where he was sitting to where I was.

“Young man, after collecting the money from the bank, pay your N1m and take the rest,” the man of God said to me. The whole church went haywire as people began coming to me to see if the cheque was real. Me sef I was yet to believe what I was seeing. I was still doubting the authenticity of the cheque not until I went to the bank the next day thinking the cheque would bounce. But na lie as I cashed my money. I immediately paid my pledge of N1m to the church account and the remaining N1m, na inside my account the money enter.

Fast-forward to 2 months later, my fame had increased that a popular man of God gave me N2m. The man of God was invited to another program in that city by another church. Mehn come and see crowd. I even attended the program with a female friend of mine. And this man of God is popular and he dey dash people money wella.

At the program, when he mounted the podium, he said he needed 10 people that would give the church N500,000 each before the end of the month. He wanted only 10 people but more than half of the church stood up because the alter was not enough to contain them if they came out. The more than half said they would give N500,000 before the end of the month. Even the female friend of mine stood up that she would give the N500,000 but I never came out. Well I don’t know where she would get that kind of money. I believed maybe the faith that brought me out in my own would work for her. Because her salary was just N10,000 monthly. But majority of the people that came out are poor and not well to do people like pepper sellers, market women. Even papa ifeanyi who is still owning his landlord N5000, came out that he would give the church N500,000. Seeing all those things, I began to wonder their what was happening and the motive of their coming out. It was there and then I realized that came out, thinking that the man of God would give them money. Dem think say man of God go dash dem money as he dey dash others. But it was unfortunate that he didn’t do that. He told the church to collect all the names and phone number of those who pledged to give the money. He prayed for them and told them that they have pledged, so they should fulfill their promise, if not, God will judge them. Na so the matter end till he preach finish come waka comot. As he comot finish, so many people come dey cry say dem don carry gbese for head. They have carried huge debt. The female friend of mine began grumbling that she thought the man of God would just give them cheque as he gave to me, that was why she stood up. Na so I come laugh her. So that was why she stood up. And I warned her ooo. Now she don carry debt, huge gbese. Well, i encouraged her to do what she can to pay because one doesn’t make a promise to God and fail to do that. Na so she say make I help her pay. I laughed, if I hear say I pay. It’s her curse so let her carry it.

A month later, I began hearing that the church had started calling and visiting those that had made N500,000. My friend that pledged told me that she doesn’t have a rest of mind. That the church had been disturbing her to pay her pledge, and that wasn’t even her church. She was just invited. Shebi them want money, na dem go give now. I didn’t know what to tell her. I also heard that so many people went back to the church to them they didn’t mean the pledge, that they can’t meet up with it. Some talk say dem no go pay at all.

Rejoice with those that are rejoicing. That was this case when my long time friend, Bode a.k.a Bodmas told me he would be getting married. I wasn’t shocked at all because the guy was old. At 34, he sure should be planning of settling down. He got admission at the age of 29. We just graduated, when people like us are waiting to go for NYSC. Him sef don pass the age to serve. His brother in Bauchi helped him to get a job in that state. So him don forget about service. He don get job while we go wait, serve, come start to dey find work. Well, I wasn’t surprised because he was getting old. But I began wondering, it was so fast. Barely 3 months we left school, he’s getting married. ‘Who give am money,’ I thought to myself. Or maybe the guy don do me maga. He was my roomie and I could remember he always complained of not having money almost all the time. For that hostel, na biscuit and water we take know bodmas. He takes biscuit and water for breakfast and same for dinner. I won’t forget during our first semester examination. One of those days, we were on our way to school when he began vomiting garri and groundnut in front of so many students at the school bus park. Most times, I paid for his breakfast, lunch and dinner. All that made me surprised to how he got the money to have his wedding.

As bodmas was telling me about his wedding, I didn’t waste time to tell him, all the money I spent on him in school, that day of his wedding would be the day I will recover them. Not in monetary value but in food. I wan chop till I tire. He laughed as I said it before dropping the call. After dropping the call, I began wondering while Bauchi. Why is it not Lagos or Ibadan, or even Portharcort, that would even be manageable. But Bauchi! The distance from warri to the place would be much.

I began preparations for my boy, bodmas’s wedding.

I began making enquiries on how to get to Bauchi. I was told it would take up to 27 hours to get to Bauchi from warri. Naso I begin swear for Bodmas. Must I spend 27 hours on the way before I eat his wedding rice! Because I don’t want what happened at his sister’s wedding to repeat itself. After spending over N10,000 to Abuja, not even N5 pure water was offered to me. The families of the groom fought throughout the wedding. But I thank God I escaped injury at the event. I could have received several punches.

I don’t just want to spend over 30 hours on the road, stopping at Kano and then taking another bus to Bauchi. I was lucky enough that a friend asked me to join one of their relatives that was taking their children to Yankari games reserve in Bauchi. So I could even pay less. I decided to join them. Arrangements were made and I was told to come as early as 5:30am the morning we would leave.

The day came and I arranged my belongings. I made sure I came out at the junction they would meet me. When the bus came to the junction and stopped for me to enter. I discovered it was a 15 seater bus and all seats were occupied. “Where I go come seat down nah,” I asked. a row meant for 3 people is been occupied by 5 people. “I thought you people said there was enough space. Where I go come sit down now. Where the space?” I asked standing like a confused person. The driver had to tell the woman and her children at the second row to adjust for me to seat. They adjusted and I entered and sat. A seat meant for 3 people were occupied by 6 people, 2 adults, 3 teenage girls and a little boy. We were just packed like sardine. I wasn’t confortable. I thought of coming down from the car but I had another thought, “what if I come down, it’s not sure I would get another car going to my destination. It was definitely going to be a delay.” I had to manage it, plus the offensive odour in the bus. I had to wind down the window glass were I was seated. I didn’t even know who told them to wind up when there was no air conditioner in the bus. I was blaming myself for conceding to the decision to join the bus in the first place. We had just started the journey and my buttocks had already started aching me. ‘Only God knows if my buttocks would still be with me before we get to Bauchi.’ I wondered.

I prayed that God should sustain me till I get to Bauchi because with the state I was, only him could help. Looking at the faces of people I was travelling with, they looked like people heading to sambisa forest. Majority of them were so dark in complexion that they could be likened to darkness. One of the young girl sitting at the seat behind me, looking at the tribal marks on her face, one has no choice but to curse people who gave her the mark. They practically designed her face with marks. Infact it’s no longer tribal mark, that was punishment.

The woman who was seating on the row I was. She couldn’t even control her children. Na so one who I guessed was the youngest reciting “A is for apple.” He turned to me:

“uncle,” as he tapped me and said.

“My name is Ese and I am 6 years old and the name of my school is Umukoro comprehensive primary and secondary school, Sapele.”

I began wondering who asked him all what he’s saying. As I even asked him.

The little boy tapped me again, “Uncle, should I read A is for apple,” he said. Na so I look this boy. I nearly provoke. If not that he was a little boy, I would have slapped him. no be that him own dey do me. I just ignored him. He continued reading. Before I knew what was happening, his teenage siblings joined him. They had practically turned the car into church choir, they have created their own project fame in the bus. The noise they were making was disturbing and the driver couldn’t tell them to keep quiet. Na so I call their mama, tell her say them dey disturb the whole place with noise pollution. They totally ignored me and continued their noise and chanting. Unfortunately I wasn’t with my phone ear piece. I had to shout at the driver to caution the woman and her children. ‘That no be there papa car wey dem they make noise inside.’ that was where I realized that the driver was their dad and they were all going to yankari game reserve. Chaiii. I just realized that I was on a long thing. The man sef is a weakling. He couldn’t even tell his wife and kids to keep quiet.

To make matters worse, they brought out one big food flask full of rice. Immediately they opened it, the smell that came out was like a rotten. I began imagining, “so this people will eat this.” The smell of that food can even send someone to early grave talkless of swallowing it. But I watched as their mother dished it into plates for the children. They were just gobbling the food into their mouth. They were really enjoying it. The youngest of them took a spoon of the rice and stretched to their dad. He opened his mouth and swallowed it. “Hmmm, you people should keep my own for me ooo,” their dad said. “Keep your own for you!” I thought to myself. Shey this man wan die. Even the one he ate, I am worried because he’s the driver, I don’t want him to die on the steering.

I was engulfed in fear. With that kind of food eaten by this people, I was waiting for any of the kids to start shouting, “mummy my stomach” or any of them collapsing and dyeing. Infact, after eating the food, they all fell asleep. Except for the driver. I was scared, I thought they have died. The food done kill them. I considered the food to be poison. 2 hours gone after the meal, the kids were still sleeping. I thought the food had killed them.

They finally woke up. I felt relieved. Maybe they have a special digestive tract that digest that kind of poison. “if they can be eating this kind of thing outside, only God knows what they would be eating at their home,” I thought to myself.

I thought I was done with bad smell from the rice they ate. Not until couple of hours later, the mum brought out palm oil beans from another food flask. When she opened the food flask, the odour from this was more corrosive than the rice they ate. And I began wondering what kind of spices they use in cooking their food; maybe they use toilet water sef, because the beans smells like toilet water. Well, since they ate the other one, I know they can still eat the beans. ‘Their stomach would digest it’ I thought to myself.

But I wasn’t confortable right there because the smell had turned my system apart. I started having running stomach. What did one expect? After inhaling all those odour from the poison they were eating. I turned to see if other passengers were feeling what I was feeling. But they were looking calm. I couldn’t hold it anymore. I had to tell the driver plainly that I want to throw up, he should stop. He did. I rushed out and I almost vomited my intestine. They were all telling me “sorry.” The driver got me water. I was so angry with him. he should just tell his wife to stop polluting my system rather than telling me sorry.

After a short while, we went back into the car. Thank God they(driver’s family) have finished eating their poison. The journey continued. I couldn’t wait to get to my destination.

When I finally got to Bauchi, I was so happy. God had given me freedom and deliverance from people who nearly killed me inside their car. Bodmas came to pick me from the park.

Nigeria is a great country when it comes to African soil and globally. We may be facing too many challenges but we are still surviving. I bet you, there are some African countries that can’t even bear even 70% of what we are facing and still manage to stay together. But we have done it all and still staying strong. well that’s an issue for another day.

I have travelled far and wide to many places and I can confirm that Nigerians are the best Business minded people in African. And with what I have seen and compared, I brought out this powerful lessons that other African countries can learn in business from Nigerians, most especially the south easterners (Igbos).

Punctuality/Seriousness- During my university days in Ogun state, I could remember there were two business men who stay opposite each other upstairs in my compound. One is an Igbo family and the other a Yoruba family. Both own a shop in the popular Sapon market in Abeokuta. On a daily basis, as early as 5:30am, the Igbo Family would have woken up praying because I do hear their voices. By 6:00am, they are out of the house to return by 9pm. I rarely see their faces week days, only on Sundays when they don’t go for their business. But for the Yoruba family, I don’t know when they wake up but I hear them pray by 9:30 or 10am. They pray for up to 1 hour and leave for their business probably 11:30am or 12pm and return by 6pm.

This is one quality I love so much about the Igbo man. They are dame punctual and serious when it comes to this area. They don’t want to miss and loose the early morning market.

Another illustration is a place in Johannesburg, South Africa. There are about 4 flats in the building with occupants, 2 Nigerian family. The other 2 families are 1 Ghanian and a South African family at the 4th flat. In which only one Nigerian family, the Ghanian and South African are into business. Food business precisely, and they all own a small mobile eatery in a place close to a popular primary and high school. As early as 6am, the wife of the Nigerian man who owns the eatery leaves home. By then all the food and pastries were ready. She leaves home to her place of business. But for the Ghanian, she stays at home till 9am before taking her food to her joint. While the South African takes her food to her joint by 11am when the high school must be having their break time. But what struck me was when the Nigerian woman was asked why she normally goes to her joint as early as she does. She said she does that because she doesn’t want to lose the early morning market. Most of the parents who come to drop off their kids as early as 7am, majority of them don’t do the usual “Tea and bread,” they rather buy solid food like pasta that she sells. So she has the opportunity to sell as much as possible, and she has come to have as much customers during that morning market. And before one knows what is happening, by 12pm, she is done for the day.

So why the Ghanian and the South African wait for the children break time, the Nigeria would come as early as possible to provide for the parents of the children and also provide food during the break time. She knows she has immersed customers so she is regular to meet up with that early morning just to satisfy her customers. And less I forget, the Nigerian woman is an Igbo.

The Igbo business man doesn’t joke with their business time. He’s punctual to meet up with customers.

Sweet Mouth/Talk- I walked up to a woman who sells roasted corn. I priced the corn she had. She said all her corn was N70 for 0ne and I wanted to buy. I told her to reduce the price for N50, even the corns were too small for N50. As I told her to reduce the price for me. Come see abuse ooo. This woman begin abuse me with yoruba ooo . “Omo oloshi niyen. Fii agbado mi le. Ema lo joor. Oloshi, werey.” Meaning: “You are a fool, mad man. Leave my shop and go.” All because I priced her corn for N50. I was so embarrassed. I left the place, and less I forget, she is a Yoruba woman.

I went to another place which was an Igbo woman. She told me her corn was N70 for one. I priced it for N40. Na so the woman begin sweet talk me with her mouth. The way she talked and how she talked about her corn, I nearly started thinking that the corn was planted and harvested in heaven and was brought to the earth. The way she hyping her corn, I finally ended up buying it for N60 which I never budgeted.

The above incident is same thing that happens anywhere when you go to buy clothes from an Igbo shop. The way they sweet talk one to buy their goods is amazing that it might even be fake goods and you wouldn’t know. They use their words to hypnotize customers. All of them have that ability to sweet talk. They mastered it that I asked one on a hot Saturday that I would love to learn how to sweet talk costumers in buying my goods because am going into business.

The Igbo businessman charms you with words that has power to convince your instincts that even if it’s a fake product, you would definitely buy it. I Love that sweet talk quality and its definitely one who chooses to succeed in business should learn from the Igbo business man.

Business Sense- The Igbo Business man has a great business sense. The aggression, seriousness and mind in which he puts in his business can’t be compared with the way Buhari handles corruption. He sets a purpose, profit and he’s determined to achieve his purpose. Since the beginning of the country, Nigeria, the Igbos have been made mockery of by other tribes that dem too like money. Now tell me, Na who no like money abeg! Na only Igbo people like money? Any little thing, “Igbo people too like money and business.” Yes they do and it’s really helping the economy of the country. They believe in entrepreneurship business and it’s really working for them. If some can’t go to school, they start up a business. At least it decongests the number of unemployed people in the streets. I so much admire the Igbo man’s business sense. Sometimes I do wonder if God actually blessed them with that special kind of gift. But you can still learn it. If Chiya from China who does well in computer village Lagos can possess this qualities after mingling with Onitsha boys, that means other people can.

Politics › His Weird Experience When He Visited A Politician That Promised To Give Him N10k by onismate(op): 4:06pm On Apr 25, 2015
I was so happy because the elections were round the corner. I wanted money. I had vowed within myself that if any political party don’t give me any money, I won’t vote for them. Na so I begin happy sake of say, I would be paid to vote by any political party. I had earlier been told that money flows, political parties share money during elections. So I was ready. I want to have my own share.

It was an unfortunate case for the Presidential election. It came and gone and nobody or political party bothered to give me money. Na sorry case for me. My hope was dashed. I had hoped and prayed that there should be sharing of money. But na lie. I waited and waited even after my accreditation. I waited till voting was closing in my ward and I was yet to vote. I was waiting for someone to say, “Oya come collect this small money to vote for this party.” Infact na me use my hand come dey ask if no one wan give money for me to hope. People laughed at me as if I was a clown. “You dey wait for money. You go wait tire,” one old woman said. I was glaring that I was just waiting my time waiting for who would buy my vote. And time was going and I had already done accreditation. Well, I managed to vote and left the place with a sad place. I been no wan vote ooo. Na because of money make me go dia.

I had vowed never to step my foot again in that polling unit or any other. Not until 2 days to the Governorship election, a friend of mine came to my place. He said he was just coming from his tailors shop and he told him that they are looking for 10 people to give N10,000 each to vote for his party. Chaiiiii, immediately I heard N10,000, na so my ears stand. “Where be dat,” I asked. My body was just shaking because I heard some people would be giving N10,000 just to vote. Who no like better thing, abi which hungry person no go jump up when they hear that kind of money. Me, I dey hungry gan. Infact I was so broke.

I told my friend that I was interested in it since it was the same ward. Na so my paddy carry me go dia ooo. When we got there, the tailor said I should show him my PVC in which I did. He said he needed more people. I told him that I have friends who registered in that same ward he was looking for. He I should help him get them. The first person that came to my mind was, emma. Na this kind thing emma dey like. To chop free N10k. I went and got 3 of friends in which emma was among. We all got the tailor’s place. He asked us to leave our PVCs with him and come back the election day. “Nooo,” emma screamed. “Oga no be so we wan do am nahhh,” I said. I can’t just submit my PVC when I have not seen the money he wants to give us. The tailor said we shouldn’t worry about anything, that he just want to hold the PVSs for the main time so he could show the people that would pay us. “So no be him wan even pay us,” I thought to myself. As if he was reading what was going on my mind, he took us to another small room inside his shop. He brought out two heavy Ghana must go sacks. He opened it the sacks , I saw that it was full of Naira notes. “Shey you see am, shey una see am. So don’t worry, there is money, we go settle una,” the tailor said. I was looking at the money inside the sacks with my mouth wide open as if I haven’t seen money all through my life. Thank God I didn’t faint just because I saw the money. Immediately I saw the money, I felt relieved. My 10k was so sure for me. Infact he even assured us that they may likely add some little money to the N10,000 that would be giving to us, I and my friends gave the tailor our PVCs before leaving. I came there hungry, with an empty stomach. Infact looking at the money, I don even belle full. Hunger no catch me again just because of say I don see money, I don get assurance.

As we were heading home rejoicing, how we would make N10,000 just by just voting. I began thinking. I began thinking of how I would spend my money. There is this face cap I often see my friend wear, I loved it and I want to get a lookalike. I was budgeting the N10,000 for some clothes, shoe and some other stuffs, hopping it would be enough.

As time went on, all I was thinking was the N10,000 that would be given to me. If I sleep, I would always dream of something relating to N10,000. At a time I became worried because I started seeing ghosts, dead people giving me money inside my dreams. Infact, in one of the dream, a mad woman was chasing me, at a time she caught up with me, dipped her hand inside the filthy cellophane bag she was carrying, brought out some Naira notes and gave me. By the time I start seeing mad people inside my dreams, then something is wrong.

The election day came, I didn’t even bother to wait for my friends. As early as 7am, I rushed to the tailor’s shop to wait for him as we were told to do. Na so I wait for tailor till other friends came to join me. We waited till 11am still the tailor didn’t show up. I had to call the guy that introduced us to him to give us the address to his house which was not too far from his shop. We got to the place and met so many people in the compound eating. I guessed they were having a party. Omo see food. When we met with the tailor, he said we should seat down and eat first. At first we were not comfortable with the hospitality, because it was unusual. Na money be my own. Well, Na so me tanda for one chair and they brought a plate of rice with two chicken laps to me. Na so I look this food shah. So many thoughts were running on my mind.

‘Hope I won’t eat the food and after eating, we fall asleep and may be kidnapped and used for money rituals. Or this people would just make us sleep and run away with our money. Or maybe we eat and leave there for accreditation and after voting we ate the food that had been hypnotized, we won’t be able to come back to collect our money. We would just forget it.’ All that were many and more thoughts on my mid. I was not ready to leave out anything. Na my N10k dey my mind.

I dropped the food on the floor and told the other guys I was not eating. They laughed at me and asked why I was afraid. I told them I don’t trust the tailor and his people. They laughed at me as they ate. I was terribly hungry. The food dey my eye sef. Looking at the chicken laps that was well garnished and fried, chaiii, it was tempting. But I still no wan chop. I was feeling suspicious. After eating their own, they shared my own and ate. I was feeling bitter say I no chop the food ooo. After my friends had finished eating, we went to meet the tailor and he gave us our PVC’s and ask we go for accreditation, vote and come with the prove that we voted for his party; then we come back and collect our money. Me, I no gree ooo. I told him while not give us the money and trust us that we would vote for his party. “You never work and you want make we just pay you like that?” the tailor said. He rather said we shouldn’t worry, that we should go and vote and come. Well, we left and went to do the accreditation and finally voted for his party and we snapped the ballot papers showing ourselves thumb printing for his party. Na so we go back to the tailor house that evening to collect our N10k. I was happy that at least N1ok was sure. When we got there, the whole compound was empty. Chaii, na so my heart begin to dey beat. Hope this tailor no wan play rough play with us. We tried calling the tailor’s number but it was switched off. We waited till 8pm, still no one came in or out of the house. We went back home and came back the next day which was Sunday afternoon. We met the tailor. He said he has been told not to give out any money till the election results were announced. And if his party wins, our money would be given to us and if they losses, nothing for us. Immediately we heard that, our countenance changed. That was not what we planned for. We became vexed at the tailor. We had not eating since the previous day they gave us food. It looked as if our lives depended on the N10,ooo they would be giving to each of us. We began threatening that we were not leaving the place until they give us the money. We even threatened to report the matter to the media and the police. As we were saying that, we heard laughter from inside the house. It was apparent that some people inside the house were laughing at us that we would be reporting the matter to the media. A man dressed in Agbada regalia came out from inside the house. “Look let me tell you small boys, if you like go to Jericho, you will not get shishi,” the man said in a hash tone. We began shouting and quarreling so that people around would hear and come to ask what was happening. We just wanted to cause a scene, to tell people that we had been defrauded by the politician crook.

As we were shouting at them, some few people came around to ask what was happening. We told them and they began laughing at us. “You better leave this place now or what happened to gbadeyan would happen to you, or even worse,” one of the women said to us. “We no dey go any were until dem give us our money,” I shouted. Before I knew what was happening, “twai,” a very hot and dirty slap landed on emma’s left cheek. Immediately emma was slapped, he fell down and started picking sands, putting them inside his mouth. The man in agbada slapped him and he fell down and started eating sand. Emma started eating sand oo. Na so I begin fear oo. I began wondering what was happening to my friend, Emma. People around started shouting and screaming. They began begging the man in agbada. It was apparent he used diabolical powers on emma. I was speechless. I didn’t know what to do or say. I was so scared. I don’t know if I rush the man, my own slap may send me to hospital bed or even coma.

I and other guys watched as emma ate sand, we were just moving backwards. “You see, you see, if I deal with you small boys, you will regret coming here,” the man said as people who knew what he did pleaded for him to release emma. He went to emma, used his left hand to hit his head. Immediately he did that, emma stood up and began asking what was wrong with him and what he was doing. I no fit even answer the question there. Before the man could say “Leave this compound,” we were already running like usain bolt out of the compound and never to return or have anything to do with them, including the tailor. When I was telling a friend who knew the tailor and what we encounted at his place, he said emma was verylucky. That the man in that agbada who also is a strong politician slapped a guy called gbadeyan earlier that day. After the slap, gbadeyan went and started eating feaces. Apparently, he slap gbadeyan and the guy start to dey chop shit. Na beg people come beg wey he free gbadeyan.

I and my friends, we don learn our lesson.

Phones › His Experience And How He Bought A Fake Mobile Phone With Eba Inside by onismate(op): 3:12am On Apr 04, 2015
The android hype was high that I was enticed to start thinking of getting a new phone, android OS precisely. Few of my close friends are using android phones. But I began considering my pocket. I want to change my phone, I wanted a cool android phone but I didn’t know which make.

Even though some few I had seen had been complaining of how android phones sucks that data. But I was determined of getting one. I want to join the league of android users.

One Tuesday morning, I was in the class when a friend of mine approached me that he wants to sell his phone. And it was android phone, HTC OneV. I jumped up from the chair I was seating, like a child who his mother just returned from the market with a cup of ice-cream for him. “I want to buy it,” I screamed at him. We negotiated till it got to N10,000 and he agreed. The phone was still clean and sizeable. I love my phones note too large in inches. I got it. “I am now an android user,” I thought to myself.

I began using my new Htc OneV android phone. I love the sleek nature of the phone with great camera capture and brightness that makes picture quality taken so clearly amazing and admirable. Even though it has low memory that makes the phone easily hangs, battery life drains faster and it easily gets hot and hangs. But still, I stuck to it. I so much love the camera quality that virtually all events I find myself, I took pictures that makes people wants to steal the phone when they go through my photo galleries. It made couple of my friends start buying Htc phones. They go for Htc desire series, which is higher that my small OneV. Well, I had no money to go for a higher one. I was still managing my Htc OneV, praying and hoping that God should provide someone that will just bless me with their latest Htc M8. As I was praying and hoping that I got a new Htc phone, my junior sister who is into event planning came visiting. She didn’t just go empty handed. The only thing he took was my Htc OneV. I had promised to get her a phone but when I didn’t have money, I had to lay low. It really hurt me how she collected the phone. She had been eyeing it for a long time. She took it and left my sim and memory card on my table. Not after seeing her off that I came back and discovered it. It was a blow to me. My fine Htc OneV was gone.

I began strategizing, planning on how to get a new phone, Htc make precisely. I have fallen in love with the Htc brand. And Htc M8 was my target. I began saving money. 6months gone, I was yet to save up to N3,000 for my Htc m8 phone. My education was diverting my money and I was just left with a non-browsing phone. I had missed surfing the internet for a long time. I had missed taking photos. I planned on using my next semester tuition fees to buy my dream phone but I began thinking it would be a bad idea.

I was returning from school one evening when a friend of mine approached me. He said one of his friend was in need of money urgently so he wants to sell his Htc m8 he just bought. I hissed at him because he approached me at the wrong time. I didn’t have money to buy the money. He told me it was just N20,000. “N20,000,” I screamed in surprised. “Can I see the phone,” I said to him. He brought the guy and the phone. The phone was still clean and “brand new” was written all over it. The owner said he bought the phone some 2 weeks back but he was selling it because he needed money urgently. Well I told them that I can’t afford N20,000. The owner asked how much I can afford. I told them I could 0nly afford N8,000. In fact the money sef, is not with me but I would have to borrow it. I was determined to borrow money to get that phone. I didn’t want the opportunity to pass me buy. I considered the incident a great opportunity.

The guys said I should try and make it up to N10,000 and they would give me the phone. The phone would be mine. That was how I began looking for money ooo. I went and borrowed N10,000 to get the phone. The phone and the charger were handed to me. we tested it and everything, app was working normally. I was so happy that I had gotten my dream phone, Htc M8. I never knew that buying that phone was acquiring problems, debt.

I got home and inserted my browsing sim and browsed for about 2hours. The phone was giving me “battery low” signal. Fortunately, there was Electricity. I plugged my new Htc m8 phone to power source and went to sleep. I slept for 2 hours, woke up to make use of the phone only to discover that the phone was off. I switched it on but it refused to on. Unfortunately, the phone was so hot. ‘Chaiii, I don enter one chance. Have I been duped or was it a fake phone?’ were thoughts and other thoughts running through my mind.

24 hours gone, my new phone refuse to on. The screen was blank after charging for hours. I was so devastated that I returned it the seller. The original seller of the phone told me that he can’t return my money to me. I told him I don’t want the phone again. he said he can only escort me to where he bought the phone but will not return the money I paid to him. Well, I followed him to the shop he bought it and they said they never gave warranty for the phone. For God’s sake, how can there not be warranty for a phone like that. They said what they could do was to take it to a repairer in which they did. Well, we followed him and when the repairer opened the phone, we discovered the shock of our life. Lumps of eba were used to glue some wires inside the phone. Stones and sands were also found inside the phone. The guy repairing the phone said he needed a sum of N32,000 to make the phone start working perfectly. And I asked myself how much I used in buying the phone that I would cough out N32,000 to repair it. The main guy who bought the phone that sold it to me said he wasn’t ready to spend a dime. That means I and the phone are on our own.

I was so pained. I began regretting. I had been duped. I was given a fake Htc m8 that lasted for just about 3 hours. I just wasted my money. Not really my money but the one I borrowed, putting me into debt.

Well, now I have started seeing advertorials online of the Htc One m9 which is out and I would seriously love to have it. But where is the money. It took me months to save a few thousands of naira which didn’t even get up to 5% of the amount of m8. Now the One m9 is out, I hope it won’t take me years to save up to the amount of the phone. And I also hope the one I would get, fufu or amala or even egusi won’t be found inside.

LETTER TO PRESIDENT ELECT, MUHAMMADU BUHARI

Dear President –elect, Muhammadu Buhari

The excellency of our strength and the symbol of the Nigerian state. The Presidential election is over. Now we know the results. I must say congratulations on your victory. Welcome to a new phase and session of your career and life. I believe you have learnt your lessons from the first 3 times you contested for the post of the President. You were resilient, determined to give Nigeria a new name, new body and the reality we dream of. The chance has now been given to you. Not because we really want But because Nigerians want to test the “CHANGE” you have been screaming about. We still believe in you even when we feel you have disappointed us several times. We have no major options but You and President Jonathan. We have given you this opportunity, please don’t jeopardize it. Over 700,000 Nigerians are refugees in neighboring countries. Boko haram is threatening our Unity. Corruption is sinking our Nation into destruction. We lack respect in front of other nations.

Gen. Buhari, this is an opportunity to re-write our history, your history. And please don’t disappoint yourself. We have given you this golden opportunity, please make use of it well. Desist yourself from all those criminals that sponsored your campaign. Prove to us that you can fight corruption to a standstill.

So many Nigerians suffered in this past four years, some are still suffering. The negative repercussions is still hitting on our faces and the results, we don’t like.

Before the elections, I have defended you carefully among my friends. On many occasions, I was nearly beaten up just because I said you should be given a try and they should ignore the previous statements you have made that you will Islamize Nigeria when you become the president. So many believed you are no good; you shouldn’t be given a try. But I tried to make them see reasons for your performance during your military regime even if I wasn’t born then. So many in my shoes were not so fortunate with this kind of act. They were beaten just because they supported you. Do not let this act be a waste. Re-write your wrongs in terms of your utterances. Do not think we don’t love you. We do only that you left so many of feeling that there were monsters around you. Please do not allow anyone to push you around. As you are arresting corrupt officials, let your microscope not be too far from the ones around you, the ones that supported you. And also if you don’t take charge of your government.

I had decided not to vote for you or even, not to vote at all. But I could remember vividly seeing you in one of my dreams. You approached me and asked that I should give you a try. You asked for my vote. Now you have it. You have the chance to prove that you are a better version of others that have come before you. You have the chance to prove that you are better than the Buhari that was a military Junta. Do not jeopardize it. Make use of it wisely. The fact that we allowed you into Aso rock as a tenant, that does not mean it doesn’t suit any of us to leave there, but because we just want you to stay there for 4 year period. There is a special cutlass in that house. We kept it for you. Make use of it to weed out corrupt politicians, boko haram. Give us youths enabling environment to develop ourselves, skills. We want to be better than other countries in every positive sphere. You have a dream of taking Nigeria forward, then let us share in that dream.

The Nigerian state is so tribalised. I remembered in your manifesto in 2011 election, you said if given opportunity, you would scrap the “state of Origin” tag, replacing it with Place of residence. Nigerians won’t be judged by their ethnicity or the place they come from. But they would be judged as Nigerian. This is an opportunity you have now. Please bring this dream to reality. Let us as Nigerians leave in peace, joy, happiness and fulfilled; not as a southerner or Northerner, but as Nigerians.

Once more, this is an opportunity for you. You are not only re-writing Nigeria’s history, you are also re-writing your own too. If you can’t do this, don’t forget that the future President is watching. What will you give then? It’s all left for you.

Thanks.

Webmasters › Re: My Experience With The Daughter Of Instagram by onismate(op): 3:36am On Mar 30, 2015
I had a professional exam in Lagos. I had no place to stay. I had to ask for help from my bosom friend, Sunny who is doing his NYSC in Kano. He agreed for me to stay in their place with his father and mum. Infact he called his parents and told them that one of his friends would be staying at their place for couple of weeks. I never knew that that decision would put me to the edge.
The d-day came for me to travel. I arranged my small travelling bag. My mum had already packaged a very delicious jollof rice inside a small cooler for me to take along with me. but I turned it down because I considered that I shouldn’t be carrying food inside a bus while travelling. Even if I want to eat, when the car stops at any eatery I just eat rather than carrying a cooler of rice and eating inside the bus.
I boarded the bus and left for Lagos city. We got to Lagos late in the Night at about 10:12pm. It didn’t took me time to get to sunny’s house. He had earlier informed them I was coming. Sunny’s sister who is Eno was the one that opened the gate for me. Na so question start ohhh.
Eno ---- Are you the guy that we are expecting?
***She asked arrogantly***
Me ---- hmmmmm ** smiling**
Well I didn’t blame her sense of approach because she’s still a teenager. Sunny had earlier warned me about that her junior sister, Eno. He said she is the daughter of instagram. She doesn’t joke with the social media app. Virtually so many things that happens in their house, she talks about it on instagram, that is why they don’t disclose so many things to her. If their papa slap their mama, she go put am for instagram and people go comment. Sunny said they had tried to cut her off social media and control what she posts but to no avail, though it was reducing. And I began to wonder. If na me born dat kind pikin, no be kill am. Pikin wey be say. If she’s menstruating, she posts it online. She will even post photo of pads with blood stains.
As Sunny don tell me, I just think say I go dey go low for the 3 weeks I go stay for their house. I don’t want one weirdo to post my photo and name on instagram that I am a thief.
I followed Eno as we entered the house. Her parents had gone to sleep. She took me to their guest room. I wanted to engage her on casual conversations but changed my mind. I felt what I would say to her, she may just go and post them on instagram. I had to let her go. I took my bath and laid down on the bed, took my phone to call sunny that I had gotten to their place but I heard a knock on the door. I went and checked and it was Eno. She said their mum had already prepared pounded yam and egusi soup so mine was at the dinning. I wanted to tell her that I wasn’t eating. But dip down in me, I was terribly hungry. My stomach wants that Egusi soup and pounded yam. That has always been my best food and I had not eaten anything since that morning. Na so I tell her say I dey come. I called sunny and told him I was at their place and left for the dinning.
As I got to the dinning, Eno was sitting there. I sat opposite to her. The food was already set. As I washed my hand to start eating, I noticed the girl was staring at me. I just ignored her and was eating my food. She was still there on the chair staring at me. As if say I be locuzade. After eating, I washed my hands, told her thank you.
“What class are you?” I asked.
“You want to know the class I am? Go on instagram and check,” she replied.
Chaii, na me this girl talk to like this’ I thought to myself. if it were my house, I would have given her the beating of her life. I just ignore her and went to bed to sleep.
The next morning, Sunny’s call woke me up.
Sunny ---- Oga, wetin dey happen nah, my sister don post ooo.
Me ---- baba wetin be dat?
Sunny --- ahhh, you never read wetin she post ontop instagram about you?
Me – me, wetin she post? Wetin be that
Sunny --- that girl no go kill person. Just go her page for instagram go see.
I immediately dropped the call and went to instagram. Sunny gave me her page name and as I landed there, I saw the shock of my life. See wetin she updated about me on instagram.
“my brother’s friend who just came visiting, you need to see the way he was goobling the egusi and pounded yam I gave to him yesta night. He ate all the meat including the bone”
That was her update. Then I read the comments. Some of them were abusing me. some said I was a dog for eating bones. Some said talk say make she upload my picture make dem see my face. I began wondering, which time did I chop the meat and bone they gave to me previous night. I was offered 3 chicken laps and I only ate one which I couldn’t even finish. I no even chop bone. I wanted to confront her but changed my mind. Because this kind girl dey put people for trouble. I no know wetin she go post again about me because I also went through her previous posts. Infact she posts everything happening in their house. It was there that I even got to know that her dad slapped her mum the previous day.
But eno is really crazy ooo. if she dey market, she go post am. All the guys wey toast her, she will upload their photos, phone numbers on instagram. Thank God she doesn’t know my name on instagram, she would have tagged me and it would be disgrace for me.
I wanted to confront her about what she posted about me but changed my mind. I no know wetin she go go instagram go post again.
As days go by, my life in Sunny’s house became hell. Virtually all my movement in the house was monitored and was been uploaded on instagram. I became a slave to eno. I was considering leaving but I have no place to stay again for the remaining days.
Few days later, Sunny’s dad asked me to escort Eno to where she would be having her CBT Jamb examination. I accepted. Throughout the journey to the school she would be having her exams, she was just updating her status, taking selfies.
“Jamb cbt loading,” was the last thing she posted before handing her phone to me to enter the hall for her exam.
Unfortunately after the exam, results came out and Eno stopped updating anything about Jamb result on instagram. I asked about her result, what she scored but she refused to tell me. I frequented her page on instagram to know if she would post about it because she post virtually everything about her on her page. But she didn’t post anything about her Jamb score. For 3 days i asked her what she scored, she didn’t tell me. Not until about a week later when I visited her instagram page. I met drama, she posted.
“Hey everyone, Jamb result was great. Team above 200. Uniben Loading”
As she posted, people began commenting. Na so her papa wey don travel go Abuja commented. And the drama began.
Eno’s father (EF) --- 200, is that what you told me Eno
Eno ---------- Daddy, what are you trying to say
EF ---------- was that what you told me?
Eno ----- Daddy why are you doing this to me nah
EF ------- tell them your real score. Tell them what you scored in Jamb.
Eno ------ 273 is what I scored daddy.
EF --------- 273 koh, 142 Nih.
My people, she didn’t score any 273 oooo. She is just lieing.
Eno ------ Ohhhhh daddy, may God forgive you.
When I saw all these, I laughed as if instagram does not exist. After when I had left their house, Eno rarely posts on instagram.

This age of social media, there is no longer privacy. Every part of our lives that should remain private have been unleashed online. I just imagine how the judgment day would look like in the presence of the almighty God. I just wonder the explanation Google, facebook, Mark zukerhberg, seun osewa of Nairaland and even people like Christian C. Ozor of Hovabuzz. I wonder the explanation they would give for leading so many people astray. They brought out innovations that have not only inspired but has also implemented wahala into our lives. People that are ordinarily weak, they can’t fight offline, one always sees them have the strength to dish out words that could send humans to early graves on facebook and other social media sites.

Politics › Buhari Has Been Bought Pampers By Fayose by onismate(op): 12:22am On Mar 21, 2015
It was all in the media that Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose recently blasted the former head of state and APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd). That the former military junta wears pampers at his age, 72. The media went agog with it. Don’t forget we are in election period in Nigeria.
Well, all that I chose not to bother whether Buhari wears pampers, bed wets or anything. It doesn’t put food on my table. Even picking up that day’s daily newspaper, seeing the headline sef. I was vexed. “Nigerian politicians, old men behaving like toddlers.” Was on my mind when I dropped the newspaper on the desk of my colleague I took it from.
In the evening when I got home, I got a call from a one of my colleague in the office informing me that another of my colleague, Ahmadu, his wife had just delivered of a baby boy. Well, I decided to call Ahmadu till I come back from the journey I would be embarking on for the next 2 weeks.
10 days later, I was on the road back to Benin when Sunom, my colleague in the office called me.
Sunom- -- Paddy shey you don hear?
Me --- me, Hear keh. Wetin you wan talk wey I need to hear.
Sunom --- Mehn, Nigerians are crazy people ooo. So you haven’t heard what is happening?
Gad damn it. This guy was beginning to irritate me. You didn’t tell me anything and you are asking me if I have heard.
Me —Oga tell me wetin dey happen joor. No dey whine me jare
Sunom ---- so you never hear wetin dey shelleh.
By this time, I was beginning to get angry and inpatient with what the sunom guy was saying. Infact, I no wan hear again. I caught the call immediately. I had no time for rubbish talk. I had so many things on my mind. What came to my mind was the pounded yam and egusi soup that my wife would be preparing for me in waiting for my arrival. As I was thinking of how I would devour the huge pounded yam and egusi soup, a call came into my phone. It was ebuka, one of my colleagues. I picked up the call;
Me --------- Hello
Ebuka ------ colleague, office don scatter as you dey hear dis ooo.
Me--- ahhh, wetin be that? Wetin dey happen nah.
Ebuka --- Omo Fayose has done it oohhh.
Immediately he said it, I began wondering fayose he was talking about. Is it the fayose that has continued giving APC tough time! Or maybe I didn’t understand what he was talking about. I am done with discussing Fayose and APC.
Me – hmmmm
Ebuka ---- I can’t imagine that that man could be so stupid
Me --- which man?
Ebuka ------ Fayose nah. He bought pampers for Buhari ooo.
Me ---- was that why you took your gad damn phone to call me?
I asked in anger. I was so furious. See me see wahala ooo. If at 60, Someone is still wearing pampers, whats my business. Na their life. I thought what he wanted to tell me was relevant; like our owed five months allowance had been paid to us. “He come dey tell me about 2 adults wey they wear pampers,” I thought to myself.
Me ------- mchewwww. Abeg leave my phone jare.
Immediately I dropped the call, one of the passengers sitting close to me said, “all these Buhari and Fayose package is tiring.” I looked at him. Nah who ask am. I thought in my mind as if I didn’t want the elections should just come and go.
Me ---- no mind them jare..
I replied to the passenger. But come to think of it, it seemed I am far from the current breaking news,’ I thought to myself. So Governor Fayose has finally expanded his madness. He publicly bought pampers for Buhari’ I thought again. “This Naija politicians no go kill us.” I said. I brought out my browsing phone to check the latest news, development and the kind of pampers Ayo fayose bought for Buhari. I opened some news sites but couldn’t find anywhere they wrote that Governor Fayose bought pampers for Buhari. Na only my colleagues mouth I don hear the news. As I was still browsing, I noticed that the young female corp member seating close to me has started updating it on twitter that, “Gov. Ayo Fayose publicly buys brand new pampers for GMB, Pictures coming soon.”
I began to wonder how she got to know. Ohh, she was overheard the conversation with my colleagues. After tweeting it, she began asking me. “Oga, shey na true shah say Fayose buy pampers for Buhari nih.” So she has already updated on twitter before asking me. Well, I told her that was exactly what I was told and I was sure it was true. Because if it wasn’t, my colleagues wouldn’t have called me. I was even bragging to them that I work in a big top Government institution and my friends who told me are journalists so they were sure of what they were saying. Na so topic change for inside car ooo. The PDP and APC goons start to dey abuse each other. They are debating and arguing about Fayose buying pampers for Buhari. The argument took us to our destinations, till I dropped off. Not until I got to the office the next day, I was told that my colleague, Ahmadu named his new born baby Buhari and my boss who his name is Fayose bought baby Buhari pampers on his naming ceremony. Allegedly, people were not happy with it. As rich as my boss, fayose, he could only see pampers to buy for buhari. The man no see better gift buy for buhari, na pampers. And I thought it was Governor Fayose that bought Genral Buhari pampers. What of the people that were inside the car with me the previous day, they had updated it on social media. Hope say dem no go don dey swear for me for false information. Shey make I swear for my colleagues wey give me the news or blame myself for insinuating another thing when I heard the news.

Politics › GEJ Doesn't Engage In Gross And Perverse Intimate Affairs With Little Boys- FFK by onismate(op): 5:26pm On Mar 11, 2015
Gentlemen of the media,

Let me start by expressing the gratitude of our Campaign Organisation to all of you for the support you have been showing us since we started this journey.

We invited you here today to intimate the Nigerian people, through your esteemed media organisations, about a despicable and wicked agenda that is being orchestrated by the opposition to scandalise, undermine and bring into disrepute our candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR), his wife, the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, our Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison Maduekwe and other key government functionaries and members of his administration.

The special operations and intelligence wing of my Directorate has been reliably informed that the opposition is planning to air a documentary about the private lives of President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Minister of Petroleum Resources. The documentary is riddled with falsehood and it is vulgar, smutty, cheap, shameful and salacious. This initiative is being spearheaded by the entire leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is being funded and organised by two serving governors and one former governor who controls his state through his hand-picked stooge.

Our response to this initiative is one of utter repugnance. That the opposition has degenerated to such a point that in response to legitimate questions that were raised about the record in public office of their Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and their de facto leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in two major and widely viewed documentaries, the only recourse they have, rather than answering the questions put in those documentaries, is to try to humiliate, shame and disgrace our presidential candidate by making the most baseless and scandalous accusations about his private life. The truth is that this shameful course of action will not work and we shall not be distracted. Neither will we lose any sleep over it.

We are, however, by this press conference, sending a clear signal to the three APC leaders that are funding and spearheading this initiative that it will not in any way serve the interest of their party or the interest of their Presidential candidate if they insist on treading that path or toeing that deplorable line. In the event of them insisting on treading this dangerous and dishonorable course, we reserve the right to respond fully and use all legitimate means to expose the inherent evil that these three individuals habitually and continuously manifest in both their private lives and whilst in public office.

The truth is that they can say what they like about President Goodluck Jonathan, his family members and those close to him but one thing they cannot say is that, unlike one of the three individuals that is behind this disgraceful initiative, President Jonathan does not show an unhealthy interest in the affairs of little boys and he does not indulge in gross and perverse intimate acts with them in his spare time in an obscene, indecent, shameful and completely unacceptable manner.

They can say whatever they like about our candidate but, unlike one of the three individuals that are behind this reprehensible initiative, it is not President Goodluck Jonathan that ended up eloping with and eventually marrying the house girl of his former leader.

They can say whatever they like about President Jonathan but it is not our President who drove his own father into political oblivion, broke the poor man’s heart and sent him to an early grave in pain, tears, defeat and shame. Presidential Jonathan did not do any of these things. It is those that have insisted on engaging in this shameful and repugnant initiative that have done these things. They know who they are and, for now, we need not mention their names. At the appropriate time, we shall mention names and expose every aspect of the sordid life styles of these individuals and at that time the Nigerian people will judge for themselves.

The second issue we want to touch on today is the shameful proposition that was made to General Muhammadu Buhari by the representatives of a number of western governments when he was in the United Kingdom for a prolonged stay. He had appealed to them for support and to get their endorsement. He had talks with the representatives of at least four western countries. The leaders of those countries made an offer to General Muhammadu Buhari and we are reliably informed that he has put the offer under consideration.

The proposition and offer was that if he was prepared to support legislation in Nigeria to allow same sex marriage and if he was prepared to repeal the anti-gay laws in Nigeria they will, in return, endorse, support and fund him, initially covertly and eventually publicly, at the right time.

Instead of outrightly rejecting these offers and spurning this proposition, to our utter shock and consternation, General Buhari apparently refused to rule it out and has put the matter under consideration. Instead of him to say NO he assured them that he would consider these two things. We believe that this is a matter that ought to be brought to the attention of the Nigerian people as a matter of urgency. The APC are so desperate to ensuring that General Buhari becomes the President of this country that they are actually prepared to consider the scrapping of all anti-gay or anti-homosexual legislations and at the same time, endorsing and supporting fresh legislation that would allow same sex marriage in our country. They are considering this despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Nigerian people find same sex marriage and, indeed, homosexuality repugnant and unacceptable.

We are using this occasion to challenge General Buhari to come clean and to tell the Nigerian people whether this is true and whether, in the unlikely event of his being elected President, he is seriously considering scrapping the anti-homosexual laws in our country and pushing through new legislation which would allow same sex marriage.

The third issue is as follows. We read, with amusement, the threat by the Buhari’s Campaign Organisation through their spokesperson, Mr Garba Shehu, that it is their intention to drag the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, before the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICC), for allegedly indulging in what they described as ''hate speech'' at a recent rally in Rivers State.

It is pertinent to note that, first of all, if they were a little better educated and had a better understanding of international law and how the ICC works, they would appreciate the fact that no individual is ever taken to the ICC based on what he or she has said unless and until people act on those words and massacre others. It is only if that speech is followed by violence and mayhem or if it incites people to commit violence, which results in death, mass murder and crimes against humanity, that the person who indulged in such hate speech becomes an eligible candidate for the ICC.

Dame Patience Jonathan is a woman of peace. She did not threaten anyone with violence; she did not incite anyone to commit violence or to kill others and her words have not resulted in death, mass murder or any crimes against humanity. We therefore completely reject the baseless charge and assertion that she has called for the killing or slaughter of anyone at any point in time.

Their threat to take the First Lady to the ICC is not only absurd but it is also nothing but the empty and boastful ranting of a perfidious, desperate, decaying and dying political party and such threat will amount to nothing. The truth is that if anybody is a candidate for the ICC, it is certainly not Dame Patience Jonathan, but rather General Muhammadu Buhari himself.

We say this because, firstly, he needs to answer questions about his role in the July 29, 1966 coup and the mass murder of about 300 Igbo army officers, including a serving Head of State, that took place that night. Secondly, there are questions to be answered about his role during the pogrom and massacre in northern Nigeria in 1966 in which no less than 100,000 innocent Igbo civilians, including women and children, were slaughtered in cold blood by mobs that were covertly armed and supported by a small handful of junior army officers. Thirdl,y Buhari's role during the Asaba massacre, in which hundreds of Igbo civilians were murdered for no just cause, still needs to be clarified. It is left to Buhari to clarify these matters and tell us his role in all these events but if these grave allegations are true, they make him a prime candidate for the ICC.

Another episode in which Buhari has questions to answer is his role in the mass murder of hundreds of people in the northern part of this country, including a number of young youth corpers who were in their prime, by Buhari’s supporters in 2011. This happened after he lost the presidential elections and after he encouraged them to go on the streets to commit violence. That deviant behaviour alone makes him a veritable candidate for the ICC.

We are, indeed, grateful that a Dutch law firm has, indeed, filed papers to the ICC asking for General Buhari to be forcefully brought to the court to answer questions about those killings in northern Nigeria by his supporters in 2011. The court action is appropriate and vital in light of the remarks credited to General Buhari about a year ago in which, inter alia, he said that if he were to lose the 2015 Presidential election, the ''baboon and the dog would both be soaked in blood''. What this means is that he intends to soak the entire nation in blood in the event that he loses the election on March 28. He has refused to withdraw that statement and as a precursor to the violence he will again unleash on Nigeria after the Presidential election, his supporters have been stoning the convoy of President Jonathan in some parts of the north each time he goes there to campaign.

It is very clear that General Buhari is a violent man who has the disposition to incite people to commit mass murder and acts of violence. We wish to take this opportunity to make it abundantly clear that if anybody is killed after the 2015 presidential election after Buhari has been defeated, we will hold him accountable and fully responsible and we will ensure that he faces the full wrath of the law. Justice will be brought to him swiftly and expeditiously. We advise General Buhari and his Campaign Organisation to stop threatening the First Lady with the ICC and instead spend their times looking inwards and delivering themselves from their obvious blood-lust and irrational and bestial desire to inflict violence against those who do not agree with them and who they perceive as their enemies.

Pause- We hereby crave your indulgence to play a clip of the brutal and blood chilling remarks made by General Buhari which ultimately triggered the orgies of violence recorded in some northern parts of the country in 2011.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a final note, we would like to refer you to a set of pictures published on the front page of the Leadership Newspaper edition of last Tuesday. As you can see, President Jonathan is the lead figure in both pictures, which were mischievously placed on top of one another.

In the first Picture, President Jonathan is surrounded by some prominent Yoruba traditional rulers led by His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubuse II. You can see that the staffs of office of the numerous traditional rulers were pointed towards the President as he sat down and whilst they prayed for him.

It has been brought to our attention that the spokesperson of the APC actually sponsored that advertorial and the contents of it reflect the sheer depravity of that individual's deep, dark, disrespectful and sinister mind. Under the picture, they wrote; ''You cannot serve God and mammon''. Right below the caption is another picture in which President Jonathan was praying both in Israel and at the Redeemed Camp in Nigeria. The intent and implication of the pictures and the words below each of them are clear. The motive for displaying the pictures in this manner and those words is to bring not only President Jonathan but also our revered Traditional Rulers in the south west into disrepute and opprobrium.

Indeed, it beats our imagination how anybody in his right senses could equate a legitimate prayer for our President in the court of the Ooni of Ife by a large number of Yoruba traditional rulers, with the worship of mammon! It is insulting, disrespectful and totally unacceptable. We seize this opportunity to issue a stern warning to Lai Mohammed and his party to stop insulting the Traditional Rulers of the south-western part of our country. It was not too long ago that the de facto leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, described the southwest Traditional Rulers in the most uncharitable terms when he said only three of them could be taken seriously.

We completely reject these insults on our Royal Fathers and we hereby call on the APC leaders to bury their heads in shame and apologise to our Traditional Rulers. We also demand an apology from Lai Muhammed for encouraging the posting of these pictures in this disgraceful manner, organising the whole thing and sponsoring the advert. If they refuse to apologise or refuse to withdraw the advert, then we take it that the APC as a party has become the enemy of every single Traditional Ruler in Yorubaland and the consequence of that will be far reaching and devastating for the fortunes of their party in the coming elections.

We thank you for listening.
Travel › Re: His Crazy Experience With A Man He Travelled With To Abuja by onismate(op): 8:41am On Mar 10, 2015
I peeped into the front row seat, a newspaper was on. “Abi dem don dey book space with newspaper again,” I said. Everyone in the car laughed. They were laughing, I wasn’t. It wasn’t funny, I need to be in Abuja before the end of the day. One of the workers in the park dragged me to a corner and began explaining to me that all seats had been filled. And the man at the front seat that I was talking with that look like osama, he’s a favourite customer. Each time he’s travelling, he usually buys 2 seats in front just for convenience. He seats in one and his newspaper on the other one. But that day, he bought 3. Two in front and one behind. He kept a small pulse on the seat behind, while he and his newspaper occupied the front seat.

I looked at the worker as he explained. The tangled hair on his head caught my attention. They looked like pawpaw seeds as he was explained; they were just story for the angels to believe. So passengers don dey book seat for their newspaper sef. Then, I wished I became an angel, or even a wizard that can fly. I needed to be in FCT that day. As I was there contemplating on what to do, the third bus had already started moving gradually, leaving the park. With my bag filled with unripe plantain and crayfish meant for my wife’s landlord in Abuja. I carried the bag and heading towards the gate. The third bus had finally left the park. I believed no car in any park would be going to Abuja that kind of time. My best bet was to leave and come back early enough the next morning.

As I left the park, on getting outside, I saw that the third bus had stopped. One of the passengers waved at me to come. “Wetin dem wan tell me,” I thought to myself. I felt they wanted to mock me again. With grudges i moved towards them. “Hurry up na,” the driver shouted. “Hurry up keh. Where I dey hurry dey go! The car wey no carry me na im I dey hurry go meet,” I said. I got there and the driver said that the Osama man has said I should take the space of his pulse behind him, so I can join the bus. The osama man said that I must carry his pulse till we get to our destination. Well, I looked at it. What was there in carrying a pulse! is it not to just carry it on my palms till we get to Abuja. “Of course I can do it,” I said to him as other passengers laughed. “I have valuables worth over a million naira so be careful and I don’t want anything missing,” the Osama man said. So because you get over millions of naira inside one pulse, person no go hear word. I began wondering, if he was so rich, why not take a plane to Abuja. Infact how come that kind of small pulse has about a million naira.” I wondered.

Na so I join the car oo come Carry the man pulse.

We were approaching Lokoja when the Osama man asked the driver to stop that he was pressed and want to urinate. The driver told him to exercise a little patience so we enter Lokoja fully so for those who would want to eat will do that and some other things. The Osama man refused entirely and threatened to urinate inside the car if the driver doesn’t stop. Some other passengers asked him to exercise a little patience, we were almost at Lokoja. The place we were was not comfortable enough, with the people selling snacks and other items. But Osama man no gree. The driver had to stop and he got down. We waited as he went to urinate. Na so this man urinate finish, he no wan come in again. He went to where they are selling gala. We were still waiting and patient. Na so this man was moving from store to store looking for gala. Passengers inside the car began complaining. Because there was gala virtually in all the stores. The driver went out of the car approaching him.

“Oga, wetin you dey find,” the driver said.

“Na gala I wan buy,” the osama man replied.

On hearing that, most of us in the car became vexed.

“So na gala this man dey find wey he just keep us hear since dey wait,” a female passenger screamed. “No be gala full everywhere so. Abi na another kind of gala from heaven him dey find!” Another passenger said. The driver wasn’t that happy anymore.

Driver--- Oga, buy wetin you wan buy make we begin move na.

Osama man--- I never see original one.

Chaiii, se me see wahala ooo. Shey gala dey get fake!

Driver--- no be gala full every were soo.

Osama man – all those ones no get NAFDAC number. Some sef don expire sef.

On hearing this, everyone in the car busted into laughter. “Na dis one we come enter today!” the woman behind me said. The osama man was determined to get his original gala. He was moving from one shop to another. When he picks up any gala, he checks the label for expiry date, he drops and checks another. If it doesn’t please him, he drops it and moves into another shop.

The driver was obviously angry. He threatened to leave him and go. But the osama man was still adamant. He told the driver to leave if he wants. Me never see character like this since I start to dey board car.

Finally, after minutes of waiting, the Osama man was trekking back to the car with a gala. I guessed he was able to see the one with SON, NAFDAC number which has not expired. I began to wonder, so after the long wait. Na only one gala N50 he buy. Immediately he entered the car, he began giving foolish apology. No one responded to him. “Make una come chop oo” he said as he tore open the gala. No one responded. I wondered, “shey na N50 gala all of us inside car go come share chop?” I thought to myself. why is he calling us to come eat gala.

We got to the main town, Lokoja. We got down at one of the eateries to eat and get some other few things. After about 30minutes of the eating’s, buying’s and all, the driver came back and passengers started coming into the car. Na so we begin to wait for Osama man oo. “Where is he! Where has he gone to?” we wondered. Or is it not the same eatery we entered to eat! After about 25minutes of wait, we sighted the Osama across the other side of the road prizing banana. The driver was so angry that he asked those who were yet to come into the car to come in. He drove to the other side to meet the Osama man. The driver asked him to come inside that there was no time, and we had been waiting for him. “Abeg make una wait joor. These plantain no ripe. I dey find soft fine plantain,” the Osama man screamed. Everyone in the car began shouting at him to get into the car, he was wasting our time. I began regretting entering that car. I should have obeyed my other voice in me that told me to stay back and travel the next day.

Na so we wait for the Osama man till he bought his N150 banana. He also said he wanted to poo. He went back to the eatery and spent about 30minutes. I guessed he was releasing all he had ate since 2 weeks. “I can’t wait for our car to get to Jabi for me to get down and leave.

The car got to Jabi in Abuja, some of us stopped there. As I was getting down, I dropped the pulse the Osama man gave to me on the seat I left and thanked him. He immediately came down of his seat and asked me to wait that he wants to search his pulse to confirm if everything was intact and nothing was missing. I didn’t bother waiting or even listened as he called me. I just took my bag, find a taxi and left. Person no get rest of mind say one Mr Osama dey inside car.

Travel › His Crazy Experience With A Man He Travelled With To Abuja by onismate(op): 8:40am On Mar 10, 2015
I woke up immediately thinking I had missed the early morning bus to Abuja. I thought it was 7am, I forgot to set the alarm to wake me up early enough. I had to jump off the bed, switched on my florescent lamp, rushed to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and took my shower. I dressed up and picked up my travelling bag I arranged when I came back from work the previous day. As I opened my door and walked out, I saw that the whole place was still dark. “It seems the Lord has given us longer nights today ooo,” I thought to myself. Coupled with that, it was raining heavily. Part of me said I should go back and forget about the journey for that day. Another part of me said I should just jump into the rain, at least I will get a bike that would take me to the motor park. And I don’t even have an umbrella. I thought about the ideas, analyzed them and came to the conclusion that I need to leave the house that moment. ‘Even if I can’t meet the 3rd bus, I could still meet 4th one,’ I thought to myself. I decided to check the time to equate how long it would take me to get to the park.

It was a shock when I saw 1:29am on the wall clock.

“Is this clock joking,” I thought to myself.

“No, you are the one joking,” something said in my mind.

I was vexed. So all the hustling and struggling to leave the house, it was yet day break! ‘So I interrupted my sweet sleep to walk out that time!’ I thought to myself. I immediately took my bag inside and went to bed. After laying there for like 20 minutes, the sleep refused to come. As the sleep refused to come, my mind began to wonder around. My major concern was for the day to break. I wished the time would run faster that it was doing. It almost became a routine those hours, I was always checking the time to know if it has gotten to 05:30am.

The time was just crawling. When it got to 4:30am, I began feeling sleepy. I was struggling to hold myself but I couldn’t. Before I could understand what was happening, I was asleep only for me to open my eyes to the clock saying 06:51. I jumped off the bed immediately. Carried my bag outside. The rain has already ceased. I locked my door and took a bike to the park.

On getting to the park, I was told that it was the last bus which was the third that was loading. First and second bus had left. Chaiiiii, see gobe. I began grumbling within myself. I didn’t know the stupid evil spirit that woke me up by 1am. After that, sleep refused to come. It finally came but took me off without my knowledge. As I was grumbling, I overhead the driver complaining about a passenger who left to his house to poo. They were still waiting for him to come back so they could leave. I went to the driver and asked that the seat be given to me. He said it was impossible because he was a favourite customer and he paid for 3 seats.

As we were talking, one of their workers came to tell the driver that the man they were waiting for had arrived. He left. I stood there helpless, contemplating on what to do. I wished I had wings like angel to fly or even disappear and reappear in Abuja.

I moved to the bus. I looked and saw that everyone was seated but only one person was seated on the passenger’s seat at the front seats. And the second seat rows were only 2 instead of 3. “Driver, shey no be space be these ones, shey I no fit stay there?” I said to the driver.

“Which space! For your papa house or car or the car wey you carry come from house,” said the only passenger seating in the front row as everyone laughed. I looked at him with his beards that make him look like Osama the terrorist. If only he knew how he looked like when he laughed.

Romance › Re: What I Did To Her On That Faithful Day by onismate(op): 12:15am On Mar 05, 2015
As she turned leaving, she noticed I wasn’t doing anything to make her stay. Na so game change. She just frowned and walked into my room. “chaii, your room is beautiful ooo. You are a big boy oo,” she said as she entered. ‘which big boy, big boy wey no get money’ I thought to myself. She jumped untop of my bed as if it was her own. But the thing sweet me shah because she was enjoying what she was seeing. I asked to dish my well cooked rice so she cold eat, but she refused and rather opted for Viju milk. I went out and got the viju milk and brought to her. she sipped it gradually. I was yet to add the drugs into it. since bola had directed me on what to do. Thank God there was electricity power. I switched on my CD player as the tempo blew heavy. I went outside, removed the sim on my phone and added another one and came inside while dialing uju’s number. The phone rang and she picked but I didn’t say anything. She dropped it. I dialed it again and she picked but I didn’t say anything. All was happening in her present but she doesn’t know I was the one.

I have already noticed all. I asked her to go outside and call the number. She agreed. As she was leaving, she dropped her viju and went outside. “Exactly what I wanted,” I thought to myself. I brought out the drug bola gave to me and did exactly, two tablets and shook it very well to mix. As I was doing that, uju’s call came into the line. I left it to ring to enable me finish what I was doing. After mixing it, I left the viju on the table for her while I laid on the bed in exited of what was going to happen. After 3 missed calls, I brought out the sim and inserted my real sim and went outside to meet her. I asked her if the person was not picking, she said “no.” I told her to try it with my number in which she did but it said the number was not available. I told her to forget about it, and that if the person is interested to speak with her, he would call back. Na so I take her go inside and she continued sipping her viju. Before I knew what was happening, she stood up to leave but she fell flat. I guessed the drug had started taking effect. I called bola to update him of what is happening. Na so bola say make I take off her clothes and pounce on her, that she was weak. I did exactly what bola said and for 30 minutes I was having my way, she was weak, she was saying something but I couldn’t hear what she was saying. I no wan hear sef. After the did, I wore back her clothes and cleaned up myself, rearranged the room and the sheets just to make sure that when she comes back to herself, she won’t notice that anything had happened.

After the act, uju seemed to have slept. 30 minutes, 1 hour, 5 hours gone. The next Monday morning, uju was yet wake. And she and I was supposed to have an 8am lecture. “See Gobe.” I called bola to tell him what was happening. He told me he would rush to my place. by 9am, uju was yet to wake but she was breathing. My room was filled up with my friends. My landlord had noticed the way people were moving in and out of my room. He asked to see me. My friends told me not to tell him what was going on. I went to answer my landlord. He asked what was happening. I told him that day was my birthday and friends had come to visit me. “Are you sure? This one you are sweating like a he goat that just fell in trouble,” he said. I tried to fake a good smile as I replied that all was well and left the place.

11:37am, uju was still asleep. “this one don pass me,” I thought to myself. “Na who send me. I began blaming myself. I ignored what my friends said. I needed a better help. Even if to take her to the hospital. I was crying bitterly. I felt it was only the intervention of God that would bring healing.

As I went to tell the landlord, before I could come back, all my friends had left. I was left with my landlord, his wife and I with uju still lying on the bed. I opened up to my landlord all that happened. I couldn’t lie. The thing done hold me. no escape route.

Finally, she was taking to the hospital where she spent 3 days. I was arrested for rape. My friends left me to languish. I have learnt my lessons not to follow crowd.

Romance › What I Did To Her On That Faithful Day by onismate(op): 12:14am On Mar 05, 2015
I love my friends. We do so many things together. Both bad and ugly things. But sometimes I know boundaries, were to step backwards and leave them before they put me in trouble.

I visited one of my favourite friend, bola at his place this Saturday and met one of his numerous girlfriends in pains. She said her tummy was aching her and it could be as a result of the drugs bola gave to her. “Chaii, hope say this girl never get belle bola come give her abortion pills?” I thought to myself. Bola was not around. I had to call him to come back home immediately to face his misfortune before somebody would die. Few minutes later, he was at home so we could find solution to his girlfriend’s situation.

When he arrived, his attitude was sluggish, seems to care less. I began to wonder if this guy really wants his girl alive, or maybe because he has many so he care less about this one. Or maybe he wants to use her head for ritual for his Yahoo yahoo business to boom because he had made jokes with it before. I had to find my way out of that house immediately. I don’t want any police case on my head. I jejely left the place. Bola’s parents are well to do, they can stand for him and bail him out. Me, my papa will just leave me there to languish.

In the evening, Bola came to my place to explain to me that he gave his girlfriend Postinor 2 to prevent her from getting pregnant.

“was that why you cared less,” I screamed at him.

“My friend relax, I used to give it to her each time I mistakenly release into her. It’s not a new thing. Na you dey take am serious,” he said to me.

“The girl you are vouching for has even recovered and we even had sex some few minutes ago before I came,” he said again.

Well, I looked at him, he knows how to do it. Me wey no get liver, I can’t try that. When I saw the girl in pains earlier, she was just screaming, “Bola has killed me. Bola has killed me.” na so fear catch me ooo. Perhaps I even heard the Postinor 2 is even dangerous, it can damage the womb. So imagine say Bola don dey give her the Postinor tey tey. The girl womb go done scatter, ready to explode.

Few weeks later, bola and I and some of our friends were having launch. Imagine what this my guys were discussing. I come dey imagine, I just be novice ooo. I never know anything. They were talking about their last adventure. How their last party ended with them drugging the drinks of some girls, taking advantage of it and sleeping with them. Bola had earlier told me of one uche girl whom he had been asking out for a long time. But she had been turning him down. Infact she doesn’t want to have anything to do with bola. Well, he invited her for a friendly date. infact before the girl even gree for the friendly date sef, e tey gan. Finally she agreed and came which is at the party. And it happened. Bola’s strategy worked and her drink was laced with drug. She couldn’t recollect what happened to her and my guy finished her. This was actually rape and it isn’t the first time my guys are doing it. But me no get liver to try that with uju. It has been long I started asking her out. Since over 2 years. Uju just dey post me. she just dey chop my money. she has never been to my house but I have been to hers multiple times. She just dey use my head dey play.

The worst part of it, the drugs my guys give to those girls, after the act, they can’t recollect what happened to them. Even if they do and realized they had been abused, they won’t report or do anything due to shame. They have to live with it.

I summoned the courage to try the act. I have lived a life of hypocrites for long. My friends are bad and I have been playing the good guy among them. Uju don chop me so tey I no know myself again. I was been mugurized by her. I concluded to lure her to my place, lace her drink with drug and sex her.

When I told bola my intentions for uju, he laughed. “Eheeen, na now you don dey wise up,” he said.

I invited uju to my place this particular Saturday afternoon. She turned it down before I remembered that the key to her heart, to unlock it is money. But I didn’t have that period.

2 weeks later, uju called me. She asked me to borrow her N5,000 that she would pay back in no due time. Me sef imagine the stuff. All the money I have been lending her, she was yet to pay back and she wants to pay back this N5,000. It was her usual scope of collecting money from me. If I begin to count thousands of Naira I have lent uju, all the money would have been enough to complete my father’s abandoned 2 storey building in the village.

I laughed when she said she would pay back. from my reaction, She knows I don’t trust her in that aspect. She doesn’t pay back. Well, as a guy that has another intention, I agreed to give her the N5,000 even when I don’t even have N150 to buy myself dinner that day. I asked uju to come to my house the next day which was Sunday to collect the N5,000. After I dropped the call, I went over to bola’s place to beg for money. When I got there, bola laughed at me. He said I was foolish. He said since I have agreed to give her the money but don’t have and I have another intention, I shouldn’t have come to borrow money. I should only achieve my aim and leave her empty handed when she recovers and leaving. “But how come is that possible,” I thought to myself.

Bola sat me down and gave me some few tips and how to handle the situation before he dipped his bag into his big travelling bag and brought out a sachet containing some tablets. There was no label on it. “Guy, just add 2 tablets only into her drink and the rest is finished,” he said to me. “Guy remember, no dull yourself oooo,” he repeated as I was leaving his house. Na so I leave bola house to my place to prepare for the next day.

Sunday came, I cleaned up my room, made sure every place in the room was looking shinny and smooth.

Uju called that she had entered the car. She was on her way to my house. I was excited. That would be her first time of coming to my place after so many persuasions. If not for the money she was looking for, she for no even know my place.

She landed in front of my gate and called that she was in front of my house. Na so I just come out come see my beautiful uju. She was looking dapper in her white top and blue jean she wore. Only if she knew what I was planning to do to her. she for no show up at all. Though I was having pity and guilt but I just have to do it. She don chop my money wella. She no want make I chop from her.

I asked her to come into my room but she refused. She said she was in a haste so I should give her the money while she leaves. See me see wahala oo, abi this girl think say I dey pluck money from tree. So she no wan enter. And this might shatter my plans. I no even get the money, bola no give me.

I insisted she enter. She said she was in a hurry that she was in a hurry. She just wanted to collect the money and leave. Lai lai. I no gree this one. I told her that she has never been to my house since we became friends. She should at least come in and take something before living. And I have already prepared a wonderful stew with good titus fish I bought with my last money. Na im she say she no go enter chop anything.

I began begging and pleading with her to come in, at least spend at least 30 minutes before leaving. 30 minutes that would launch us into another world entirely.

She was even enjoying me begging her. I changed immediately with straight face. That if she doesn’t come in, I won’t give her the money. Na so uju changed immediately. “Is it because of the money you want to give me? infact am not interested again,” she screamed and turned to leave. In my heart I was sad that I have goofed the plan. if I had known, I would have begged more rather than being strict.

Romance › Did I Do Anything Wrong With The Gift I Gave To My Pastor's Wife? by onismate(op): 11:36am On Feb 16, 2015
I have never been a stingy guy but people have provoked me. They have made me do what I didn’t want to do. And so I hate were girls would want to scam me. Many girls I had dated turned me to maga. They mugurized me that at a point I began asking why God created eve and women. The last one that happened to me and vowed to stay away from dating for a short time. The little money I had, she was just sucking me dry. And she loved adventure and I gave her that. I took her to the mortuary and her birthday. That experience, she would never forget and she called it quit.
After 3 years of abstaining from relationship, I was ready to date. Infact I want to marry. And I want to get my wife from the church. A real church girl. As so my company transferred me to one of our branches Rivers state. As time went on, I became familiar with the area.
I found myself a church not too far from my house. Not a big church but still a growing house of God. Well, I joined the place because I felt it would be comfortable for me. The first Sunday the pastor asked for first timers to stand up. I didn’t even bother to do so. But it seems they recognized me because they know the faces of their fellow members. And they weren’t much, a little above 55 members as I counted. As the pastor repeated, “if you know you are coming for the first time please stand for the church to welcome you.” I refused to stand. I refused to stand. The pastor had to come to me close to me, “Brother, stand up nah, abi you know be new comer?” he said. You need to see the way everyone was looking at me and was laughing. I smiled and stood. “Ehen, na now you you come,” one of the ushers standing beside me said. So if I no stand, I never come, and Baba God no go bless me! I thought to myself. They welcomed me. They asked me my name, I told them is Titus and I walked for an oil firm, infact it was popular in the town. When I mentioned the name, everyone began to clap in amazement. I began to wonder why they clapped, oh because I said I was working in an oil firm. Or maybe they thought they thought I was going to build refinery there or maybe I think I would be bringing oil money to the church.
After the church service, the pastor and some church members came to my place. I guessed they were amazed by the interior décor and how beautiful my house is.
As time went on, I began loving my new church in the town.
On this particular Sunday service. The Pastor announced that it would be an exchange of gift. We are asked to pick someone who will be a partner, you pray and exchange gift with the person. Before I knew what was happening, usher stella had already rushed to hold my hand were I was standing. I was hoping to get in touch with esther. I so much love the girl esther, one of the choir member. The way she sings and serenades my soul, I loved that which has made me fall in love with her. Infact I had already started picturing how the wedding day would look like and how marriage with her will be. Though I have not approached her; I was planning to do so and we are really good friends and I felt she likes me. I was thinking of how I would get to the choir seat when stella came to hold my hand as a partner. She held me strongly that I began to wonder if she works in a mechanic workshop. As I was being worried of stella holding me, two young women and a man came and said that they had move to partner with me. Well, I didn’t say anything since we are serving the same God. But within me, I had made up my mind to get a gift for sister esther. But was I the only one in the church. So many were still looking for partners and I have 4 already. After the service, wife of the pastor walked up to me, “Bro titus, please get me my own gift next Sunday because am spiritually partnering with you,” she said. Indeed these people has turned me to sadine, mba Titus fish compressing me inside the container. Soon they would start using me to eat bread. Everyone just want to partner with me’ I wondered. Well I took it in good fate that God has blessed me.
During the week, I took one of my female friend and colleague to the market and bought some gifts for my partners in church. I also bought for my dear sister esther a beautiful wrist watch worth N3,000. On Sunday I took all the gifts with my car and brought to church. I gave usher stella a bread toaster. The other 2 women, I inserted N2000 into an envelope and gave to them each. I bought Ankara, 5 yards for the man and N500 on it for the man. My female friend suggested I give my pastor’s wife money which I did, N10,000. I Gave esther the watch and N7000. She was so excited and hugged me so tightly. I had always felt she likes me because sometimes in church, the kind of eye contact we give to each other, odi kwa risky for church girl.
Well, it was my turn. The two women I gave N2000 each came to my house in the evening with a black deep nylon bag. I was excited that atleast they brought something for me even though they considered me rich and comfortable. Thank God my female colleague in the office came to my place and prepared a very good chicken stew and rice the previous day. I offered my guests 2 big fried chicken laps with chilled juice. After devouring my chickens and drank my juice. They stood up and said they were going that they decided to branch to my place as they were coming from the market, then thank me for the gift I gave to them. Chaiii, see as this people take scam my head. So what they are carrying inside the nylon bag was not mine! They were barely passing by to mock me.
Esther came to my place after my two hungry church members left. I gave her a pack of orange juice. She didn’t even spend up to 30 minutes and said she was going that she would come back a few minutes later. She said she wanted to see a friend down the street. Well, for the exchange of gift, she dipped her hand inside her big hand bag and brought out a toilet roll and gave to me. She said that was what she has to give. I watched as she walked out rushing out of my house. Hmmm, she I beg this get toilet roll wey she bring am! Sister esther never came back to my house, and I waited till the next day.
To add salt to injury, I got a text message that evening that N100 has been transferred to me. Immediately after the text, another one came in which read
“blessings of the Lord to you Bro Titus. I believe you have seen the 100 recharge card I sent you. Please manage it. That is my gift to you.”
I checked the number that sent the message and it was my pastor’s wife. Na so I provoke. She no see any other thing send me, e come be say na recharge card. No be even send, she transferred to me. She later called to tell me that that was what was laid in her heart to give to me.
I remembered when the Pastor was screaming at the top of his voice, it almost busted the sound speakers, “this exchange of gift, give your partner a very tangible gift so the Lord will enrich you,” He said. “Is all this the tangible things he meant,” I wondered to myself. Is N100 recharge card tangible. The man I gave 5 yards of Ankara cloths and N500. He gave me 3 N50 Noodles. As if I was so hungry. I wanted to give it back to him to go give his 3 year old daughter that looked malnourished. The noodles would be good for her. Well, I encouraged myself. I have been magad and mugurized.
3 months later this beautiful Sunday. The pastor said the coming Sunday would be another exchange of gift. Immediately he announced it, you need to see how his wife and other church members shouted and clapped. Before he could finish the statement, “Chose a partner,” all the ushers don already hold my hand. I had already seen sister esther coming forward to me. One of the teachers in the children department and many church members had already started screaming my name. Everyone want to partner with me. Before I knew what was happening, almost all the whole church members became my partners. Shey na only me dey the church? The pastor noticed everyone was running to me. Himself come dey wonder wetin dey happen. Am a nice guy and I don’t just give ordinary gifts.
The next Sunday came. I made sure I did what I did very well. After the church service, all the church members began to follow me. Well, I took them to my car to give them what I brought. Na so I chattered plenty biro. My boss had earlier given a contractor a job to produce a customized biro for our company. It we shared the biros in one secondary school in Portharcort. The leftover was what I brought to the church and gave to my partners
When I gave one of the biro to my Pastor’s wife, she asked why I brought her just an ordinary biro. I told her, that was what was laid in my heart to give. I gave the teacher in the children department 2 packets of cabin biscuit for the children. And I gave the other members my customized special biro.
By the next exchange of gift. The pastor screamed, “Go and look for a partner.” Nobody wants to hold or take me as a partner.
