First of all, I followed the link you provided, and every Igbo I saw there, including the one dissing Ojukwu all posted on the 2nd.
Secondly, the stay off is a PERSONAL thing.
It is personal because talk is cheap, and you learn a lot by keeping quiet for once. I was not here for almost 2 days (personal), so I wouldn't know and don't care to know who was here or who wasn't. My dues to the great Ikemba of Biafra is being paid, one by one.

Now, what else can you raise? Angulu!

I also want to say that I have been receiving LOTS of emails from EVERYBODY. Some of the emails are from honest and decent folks (Igbo and non-Igbo), others are from people without honest motives. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

One of the reasons Ojukwu is considered GREAT and unique is that he was able to weather ALL the storms and acquitted himself well throughout his leadership of Ndigbo (which is one of the TOUGHEST jobs on earth!). I will do exactly the same.
We are not engaged in a sprint, but a marathon RELAY race. I am currently doing my lap of the race, and I will do a GREAT job!
What I know for sure is that when the election for the next Eze comes up, I will personally make sure that a candidate's history of being SELFLESS here will play a KEY role in my endorsement of that candidate. Another quality I will look for is FOLLOWERSHIP. If one cannot follow, how can the person lead?

God bless Ndigbo, and other Nigerians with love for fellow countrymen in their hearts!

I use this opportunity to thank everyone (Easterner and non-Easterner) who honored our beloved Ikemba by staying off Nairaland just for ONE day.
The honor is PERSONAL and the idea is to give the individual an opportunity to stop talking for once but to THINK and REFLECT.
I was amazed by what I was able to think about and the conclusions I reached. I won't share it yet, but will certainly do so with time here.
Our mourning continues of course until the Ikemba is committed to mother earth.

This is why I personally believe that either Ohanaeze Ndigbo has become completely useless and irrelevant, or Uwazuruike's leadership (of MASSOB) qualities are not adequate enough.
Do you know how many MASSOB members that have been gunned down by the Nigerian police and army? Yet we don't hear anything close to this in Igboland? 

This is the FIRST TIME any group has raised this UN issue in addressing how the Nigerian government deals with dissidents.
Inspite of all the educated people in Ohanaeze, no one has ever raised this point, or even approached the UN for intervention.

At this time, I have to say that anyone from the Eastern region who ridicules the idea of a holiday for Ojukwu is truly a goat. You can never deny the man his place in history, the minimum of which is that he was a governor of the WHOLE Eastern region, and he acquitted himself very creditably in our time of crisis, when Easterners irrespective of tribe were being hunted down and killed in the North and West of Nigeria. One calabar guy escaped from Kaduna and narrated his story. It was not different from what other Easterners experienced.  
The civil war itself was fought by ALL Easterners on BOTH sides. Some Igbo fought for Nigeria, just like some non-Igbos of Eastern region. It is self deceit to distant from Ojukwu and what he stood for as Governor of Eastern region which produced the Aburi document which would have served EVERY tribe in the East, and even Nigeria for that matter. Even Yorubas are now calling for implementation of Aburi - a solid 45 years after they rejected it.

I would advise every minority Easterner to never forget, that we Ndigbo can stay in Nigeria and make hay. In fact if we do, it would LIKELY serve us more than them. It is already serving us more even today. You can quote me on that. The problem with the Igbo man (which I try to counsel them against in private conversations) is that we are too consciencious when dealing with other Nigerians. Most of the time, we lament the injustices against oil producing communities of the "SS" (non-Igbo areas, and some areas which deny being Igbo) as passionately as we would lament whatever we feel that is wrong with the way Nigeria treats us. It does not mean that we cannot join the thieves from elsewhere, ravage the place and leave it to die a slow death. We can do that. In fact if some of you people continue this mindset, Igbo will DEFINITELY change with time to resemble those some of you respect more . We shall then see how things would look.

This Ojukwu's burial will help open our eyes more concerning how some of you view us, and will likely shape our vision for ourselves in Nigeria. So, BE VERY CAREFUL.
If you don't want to obverse any holiday, fine, no problem. Go about your business, as I'm sure that some Igbo will go about their business. But don't come here talking nonsense.

Yes the privatisoation of sea security has impact on Yoruba. . . but in a very remote dimension.  It has a direct and fatal impact on the actualization of ibo interest and voice in your own homeland in East.   IF Nigeria divides and you are ejected from West, which other access do you have to the sea?  It is in East . . . in Ijaw  area.  By proactively sitting on that gateway now, Gej makes it impracticable for ibo to succeed without depending and defaulting to Ijaw voice.   Your hatred for Yoruba has blinded you you cant see that you are politically walking into a dead end trap.

I really don't care much about poltical appointments, afterall we have Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla, Pius Anyim, and the aviation minister lady, yet we have not seen any sign of work at the Niger bridge, or even a serious shot at building a beffiting international airport infrastructure at Enugu.

GEJ has REAL reasons to be afraid of the core North, afterall never forget that he cannot change just because he became Nigeria's president. If you have ball, you have balls, whether you are president or not. If you want to criticize GEJ, look no further than the farm at Ota.

There is no wait and see here, the outcome is a heavy cost to national security.  Envision that Gej's private navy becomes true.  What stops a Yoruba president in future from privatising air national guard for air space and border patrol?  Would ibo or ijaw or hausa want Yoruba to be in charge of air space?   Imagine Hausa president in future coming up with private army frontier guards.  Do you want your borders or does Yoruba want its borders controled by Hausa?  

If these future possibilities are scary, then Gej's idea is scary and should be killed in incubation.  There is no wait and see!
