Guys go to youtube. There are several videos of the Nigerian civil war and the Biafran army was defeated hands down by the federal trop partly because of their better size and they also had support from the British. Infact during the last months of the fighting the British prime minister increased the arm supply to Nigeria by five times and the Biafran army were blocked on all sides from both land and sea and had to get relief through the air.
I'm just saying this for educational purpose so that the people that believed that the igbo surrendered conditionally can know their true history.
A little educational research rather than propaganda will do you a lot of good because you can be confident of what you say in the public

Most of the Biafran soldiers were just young men and women (much like you would find in the Super Eagles and Super Falcons today). Nevertheless they stood and fought. They were young lions and lionesses.

If they didn't fight for our defense, we would not be here today. That is why we will NEVER FORGET them and their sacrifice.

I remember the advice by one nairalander ( I can't recall his name) for Ndigbo to become heavily armed in all their areas of domicile in Nigeria. I wouldn't live in any part of Nigeria outside the East without going by that advice.

If you are honest at all, you will know that there is a time for everything under the sun. The Igbo are a very deliberate people. We don't rush into things. Ever.

So, if we fought that war, we had NO CHOICE. Nigeria attacked us FIRST.
The mistake we made was to be on defense throughout. A lesson learned. We NEVER really attacked throughout the war because we thought we were dealing with humans.

If you spend enough time, you may be able to keep reminding your Yoruba folks that they have NEVER fought a war in Nigeria and therefore have no grounds to ridicule the memories of our heroes in Biafra.
That is if you are honest.

Most of the Biafran soldiers were armed with mark 4 (first world war weapons) and yet they kicked some a55.

There was NO VICTOR NO VANQUISHED.
The people who make most noise about the war are the weakest on the Nigerian side of the war.
Since Nigeria's history, they are the only tribe that has never embarked on any armed struggle against the Nigerian state. They simply run away.  
Even the minorities have more balls than Yoruba folks.

Probably, (thanks to Awolowo) but highly unlikely. The people starving to death were WOMEN and CHILDREN and OLD PEOPLE.
The Biafra military never starved for a day because they were collecting the food and even arms from defeated Nigerian soldiers.  

Actually there was NO victor and No Vanquished. The easterners were not forcibly disarmed, they voluntarily handed over their weapons. Joe Achuzia -a Biafran commander- clarified that during an interview earlier this year.
If we knew then that Nigeria would completely renege on that spirit, we would have kept fighting till today. Eastern leaders mismanaged our VOLUNTARY surrender. A HUGE LESSON learned.
