Shadams, thanks for your wonderful tips. Really not easy to get into a doctoral program in Canada. You must have added lots academic master pieces to get their attention.I'm sure the consulate will respect that; particularly for an applicant coming from our part of the world.

PoliticsRe: Insecurity: Imo Government Debunks US Report by onuawuchi: 9:21am On Jun 10, 2013
I think I will agree with the governor on this one. Imo state is relatively one of the most peaceful place to reside in Nigeria now. I stay in Owerri and I have been to most parts of the state. I bet that you'll snore heavier sleeping in O-town than in the city of New York.
Music/RadioRe: People Consider Enya's Songs As 'demonic' - Why? by onuawuchi: 11:54pm On Jun 07, 2013
I think a better language would be saying her songs are spiritual than demonic. There is a world of difference between the two. Her songs, played in the right atmosphere touches your real being;the soul. If you'll be sincere her songs leaves you feeling better than you were before listening to it.

ceo mr ca$h:
Congrats to all thos who hv gotten their medicals invites. 4rm the trends hia i guess dt cdhc invites 4medicals after 7wks or close to 2months of submission. So if urs hv pass 2months, i fink u shld go dia n inquire abt ur application status.

My problem is in ma application form i filled in 2yrs as ma program duration. But lata found out mine is jst 1yr. Cld dis affect ma chances of securin visa? Pls i need pples input on dis issue.
If your offer letter contains the program duration, I don't think it will be a problem. After all, we are humans and prone to typo errors. The visa officer should know that. Except its no where on ur admission letter.

teapea8484: Am about to submit my application, but I don't know how to give the embassy my transcript this as be a delay for me
Oga go to ur school exams and record ...tell them that the Canadian embassy insists it gets to them as an attachment to ur visa application. Collect it by hand and submit...its as simple as that.

For those of us who find it a little tedious researching for schools in Canada, I think I have a one stop shop for you. Check it out. www.4icu.org/ca/ The site will not only provide you with the comprehensive list of ALL the universities and some reputable colleges in Canada, it'll also give you a direct link to their websites. Enjoy

RomanceRe: Things To Do Before You're 35 Years Old by onuawuchi: 1:27pm On May 29, 2013
All the things that the operator enumerated are not so big achievements to making at 35 or even at 27. However, we cannot make much sense of a discuss like this without putting the economics environment of our country into consideration. Imagine the time it takes on the average in Nigeria to secure a job after graduation and the number of years it takes to building a business from scratch. All these add into your age. And for those of us who are compassionate enough not to suffer the fruit of our loins, getting married does not come easy. So the situation may not be the same for every body. But the discipline to achieve these things must be cultivated, regardless of your age. In the end what it takes one 5 years to achieve another may surpass in less than year.

What of the vacancy they published earlier this year, which quite a number of us sent application for? We've not heard a thing about that one.

bullstriker: CANADIAN DEPUTY HIGH COMMISSION
Draft instructions:

Print the Passport number of the principal applicant on the back of the bank draft.
The draft must be made payable to "DEPUTY HIGH COMMISSION OF CANADA".
The draft must be Payable in lagos.
The draft must indicate if the second signature is not required.
Your payment must accompany your application.
Please ensure that the bank does not forward your bank draft or certified cheque to this office.
If your application is received at this office without the correct processing fee attached, it will be returned to you.
Yes you can use GT bank, but I think you'll have to be maintaining an account with them. ION[/quote]
freshdude: What of gtb bank.? That's the bank I use.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by onuawuchi: 11:24am On May 22, 2013
freshdude: bro. Have u submitted ur application.?. How did u pay for the bank draft. Does it require account no or something.
Walk into any branch of UBA and tell them you want to raise a draft of N19500 in favour of THE DEPUTY HIGH COMMISSIONER OF CANADA; that is if you don't maintain an account with any of the banks mentioned on their website. Avoid banks that are not listed on their website(e.g Eco, Access etc) cos they'll refuse ur draft. Good luck with your submission.

Siga: ...Bro...u are wrong on that ...its part of financial stands bro....Stocks, bonds all same as bank account....
This guy...you've persistently kept my hope standing. You're too helpful to be a Nigerian. I pray God extends this grace of selflessness to self-centered men like me. Please, hold on to what you have, cos it's worth more than the treasures a lot of chase after. Like Yanni would say, greatness is in very little things.

Can stocks be considered as part of your proof of funding. May be as complementary to your account balance as at visa app submission?

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by onuawuchi: 7:41am On May 02, 2013
I keep asking this question in this forum and people are always reluctant answering me. Those the visa application centre in Nigeria have a cut off date for application acceptance. If true, when is it. Cos my submission is looking at next week

Please what do you guys know about DB's policy on age. I'm a lil above 30 and I don't want to lie about that, but I still would fancy working with them. Some one called me from there line this morning to ask about my age. So what r my chances of working with them with my age above 30? Thanks in anticipation of your replies

onuawuchi: If your submitting your visa app through VAC, will you still include the self addressed envelope to send the originals of your document? Then I want to know if applying by the middle of next month will be late for sept admit.
Guys talk to me. Let's worry about the hair cut and dressing later. I'll teach as many as are interested for free.
