The duration of my masters degree as stated on my I20 form is 36months. Most masters program I come across spans for 2 years. I want to know if this one will pose a problem for me at the embassy

Please people help me out. The I-20 I am going to the embassy with just arrived. But I noticed a mistake in my DOB. Instead of 12/12,they typed 12/20. I want to know if that'll be a major issue at the embassy. I am already writing them an email to bring it to their notice.

I've got graduate admit into University of Missouri St Louis, Middle Tennessee State University, Michigan Technological University and University of Wisconsin whitewater. The curriculum they offer for the program I'm attending applies to me. In other words, judging by academics I'll pick anyone of them. But at this point I'm considering their visa success rate. I will like the house to help me rank them in that regard. Thanks

Brother, why not let us know the criteria on which they screened some people out. like what did you do differently? Or there physical feature you possess which they don't e.g height,weight....just tell us something. I'm sure their selection was not random. I think we should be a little more clear when sharing information, so that it will give the help intended. I remember this forum to be more active than this when it started. A question for those that attended the DMO II interview on the 11th. Was there any issue with applicants discipline? I am asking cos they were specific on the job advert as to the fields they want for the DM positions. Any word on this will be greatly appreciated

True words. Even when posting the transcripts it's funny how people hide lots of info, which may be of significant help to others. Talking about the Indians, I follow quite a number of their forums. Those guys are every where. From study visa specific websites to Facebook groups, with discuss on diverse headings. The way they help one another down to specifics makes me think they have a deliberate plan to transfer technology from the west down to India in the most near future(just like china) . No doubt we are doing commendable job here. But if you ever visit one of the Indian forums you'll see we still have much grounds to cover

Bro, u r going for an advanced degree, age shouldn't be a barrier especially in America so I see no reason it being a cause of visa denial. u must av done ur homework pretty well for u to be admitted to those schs. Did u get any funding from d schools? Even if u don't, as long as u can provide evidence of funding for ur studies, u r good to hit d consular.

I applied. Hope my answer doesn't come as rude; cos all I did was that simple to get in. If it's any consolation, your GRE score is better than mine. I can only suggest you reconsider your choice of schools.

And I’m currently waiting for University of Utah to make their admission decision on my application. Getting admission is obviously not a challenge to me, but my scare is getting a study visa with my age and marital status. I am 34 and still single (male). Do I really stand any chance at a visa with my situation?

They introduced another file format (JPG)which wasn't on the portal when they sent the initial email. I suspect they must have seen the applicants challenges converting documents and meeting the required file size. So if you were good with the uploads then, I'm sure you have no need to worry about this current msg.

My sponsor is my elder sister. I provided her birth and marriage cert. showing her maiden name.
I submitted her SOA (salary account) with 3.7m as the closing balance. I also tendered her CSCS statement with shares valued over 3.5m. Her employer also provided us with a recent employment letter stating her p.a pay of about 10m. She has three kids.

My SOP took me like two months to put together. To me it was a master piece. I felt like making out with it any time I read through it. I guess my love was the VO's nightmare.

I included my late dads sworn affidavit of his inherited land and building plan. Certificates of market stall ownership of my dad and mom.

Whether the VO no like my face. My intention is simply to understand how economics works in the developed world and translate it for my own emerging economy. I seek a generation to impact not a place to immigrate to. If only they could see that

After what seemed like eternity, my passport was finally returned refused with the reason that:

1. I don't have enough funds to pay my tuition.

2. I didn't satisfy them I'll return after studies, cos of

A, my travel history- Never been out of the country all my life. Does it mean if you've not travel b4 you won't get a chance to study in Canada?
B,your family ties in Canada and country of residence- I don't have any relative in canada and I remember giving them copies of my sibling Int'l pp and birth Cert, even my mother's
C,Your current employment situation- Provided them with my previous job employment letter and salary account. Gave them a letter from employer for my current job. Though not a big place
D, your personal asset and financial status- this I can understand cos I had non to show them.

I have gotten a new admission letter from my school for 2014F and I will like to reapply. How best do I close these VO gaps? Your help will be appreciated

jaymdee: Hey, you specifically gave the embassy approval to verify your sponsor's state of account while signing your application form. Besides, what's the issue with that? Will the embassy rob you cos of your money?

It is completely wrong and negates the standard practice in banking. Banking relationship is run on confidentiality and secrecy. Moreover, I don't believe CDHC check up on peoples account like that. If they do, what's the point asking applicants to provide statements from six months back, since the signature allows them free rides on an individuals account? Here is a gathering of academia, some finance students can help us end this argument

I said this same thing in this forum earlier. They know what they want. I think the unseen requirements, they look out for are:
Come from a wealthy country; in that way they won't break their head thinking if you'll return home or not

If you are in the sciences, come add to the work force of scientists they need. At least providing enough research assistance as you study.

If you are not in the sciences , come loaded so you throw the funds in their economy.

Well, we who don't typical fit the mold are not asking for much. We just want an opportunity to come and study and give back to our country.
