Happy Sunday guys,

When coming to Germany, aside the excitement of running away from Nigeria, please prepare yourself mentally for the months to come, you will not only be faced with loneliness and dark grey weather, you may also experience SAD (seasonal affective disorder) please try to connect to others who are on here.

Update: I recently moved to Berlin from a smaller town hoping that capital city might make a difference. OYO for me.

Please move to cities where you have friends. People here are very uptight and individualist. Don't end up like me. Corona doesn't even help either

Thank You

Please guys, compared to Ireland is studying in Germany cheaper?
It depends on if you gained admission to a uni that charges no tuition in Germany. You only need a blocked account of about 4million.
Fees are paid in most schools in Ireland. and the least I think about 8,000 euros

Also if you don't speak the language, it might be difficult to get a foothold as soon as you arrive Germany and try to find a Job. The people are a bit weird here to be honest.

Long story short. its probably cheaper to live and study in Germany but LEARN THE LANGUAGE OOOO IT IS COMPLUSORY!!

Na them sabi.

Hi everyone..
Please when is the next TB auction date?

Do i wait for it or go ahead with this low rate. I am aware the banks do sell secondary market. What is the best way to get the primary rates and through what means.

Thanks for your response.

keep some peppersoup for us oooh

condomuser:
Gone are the days when they tell you "Land keeps appreciating", the insecurity in naija doesn't allow for lots of diversity in landed properties today. It is better to buy property in a choice location with COfO at reasonable price than go and buy land inside a bush and wait 20 years for development to enter the area, often at-times stories go begin enter the land.

Greedy men everywia, I rather eat my sweat than allow some local land re-sellers use my money to drink pepper soup.

I recently sold a land that i bough at N3m in ibeju Lekki in 2011 at N3.5 million due to stories that were sounding like pasuma music to my ears, i have decided to eat peppersoup with the money until it finishes. A plate of peppersoup currently goes for N1,200, that means i can eat 2,916 plates of peppersoup grin.

Hello, pls i would appreciate your advice on this issue, I applied for German students visa appointment date, and was scheduled for 16th of July 2019, however, after 10 days I was sent another mail to come on 1st of August but it carries no reference number and my passport number was also missing, nevertheless, I decided to call the embassy and I was asked to come on the 16th which I did but was denied entry. I am seriously confused on what to do now and I would appreciate your contributions. thank you.
I had the same situation. Just turn up at the earliest one as long as you are ready. sometiimes its the system fault. They sent mine twice i just turned up at the first date as the second date fell at a work day and was inconvienent for me.

Good luck with your interview
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Onyi2728(f): 3:22pm On Jul 18, 2019
hehehe i just received an email from Finitiba.

Blocked account has been increased to 853 euros monthly. shocked Infact let me type it in their own english.

we want to inform you that German authorities have increased the BafoG rate - the national standard that defines the absolute miminum of expenses that a standard students needs to cover for a comfortable living. This change is justified by the continous growth of costs related to accomodation, electricity, food etc. This means that as of the 1st september, international students will be required to block euro 853 per month of their stay in germany instead of the current amount of 720 euros (10,236 for a year of studies).

Na them sabi.. any which way. God will always make a way for US.

Love Bleep

Yes. it was in Dubai. Thank You
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Onyi2728(f): 5:13am On Jun 25, 2019
Let me share my good news. Its with heartwarming delight to announce that I received my AM yesterday. My effort to port to Germany began in March 2018. And since then it's been a rollercoaster. From losing my job in UAE to coming back to Lagos. From trying to get a job in Lagos to running back to Dubai. To the 5 admission denied last year and the long long wait. Blocked account and unblocking it lol.

My second attempt was much easier. Got a job quicker than I expected when I returned back to Dubai and kept trying. I am going to Hochschule Bremen MBA in International Tourism Management. Interview date was May 28 2019.It wasn't actually an interview. I just submitted all documents required and only two question was asked. Have I gotten an accommodation yet? and how will I sponsor myself in the second year?

Funded on 15th June. Sent blocked account info to embassy 18th June. AM received 24th. I will be porting in September.

This is a mile stone in my life knowing where I come from and knowing I did it all by myself with the help of reading on nairaland.

Thanks a lot. God Bless Everyone.

Please help o. Iyam not understanding. Or is it different situation for UAE residents? Thanks

THANKS DEAR
But from my research about the courses at this HSBA, courses are on a part time bases and it will last for 2 and half years. Good thing is there is a JOB and MASTER option (they help you find a job where the company pays your tuition while you work for them).I applied and have an interview with them next week.

But my question now is will the embassy allow for such part time program for international student? I probably guess so, but I don't want to take chances.

princetigris:
if you want to pay for tuition, I suggest you try HSBA. that's Hamburg school of business administration. Apply for the study and work program in global management and governance.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Onyi2728(f): 5:37pm On Feb 11, 2019
Hello everyone..
Thank you for your constant contribution.
I know its not easy to read all through this 500 and something page, but i have one question?

How possible will it be for a self funding student to gain scholarship (Msc Biz Admin or any management related course) into any Uni in Australia?
My Background:
27 years
Bsc in Office Management (2nd class upper class division)
3 years post bachelor work experience, tho i have a few work experience before attending Uni(currently working in Dubai)
11 million in bank account
no family sponsor.

Any candid advice will be well appreciated, i was advised to try Australia though i put a lot of focus on studying in Germany.

Thank you in anticipation for your prompt response.
Hugs

Thanks Eldee.. that was helpful. I need help to be honest, I sure did my best last winter semester, kofi anan scholarships requires a GMAT score, this I don’t have.
And I don’t want what happened to me last year to happen again whilst waiting for free tuition Uni to give me admission that’s why I am throwing my towel in any direction. At the moment, any Uni is better for me as long as I leave this UAE of a country. It has tried for me, it’s time to move on. I don’t mind paying the tuition as long as I port to Germany
Eldeee:
onyi can you patiently wait for winter semester. There are lots of management courses to choose from. I believe one or two will favor you nevertheless if you package your application very well.

Moreover there's is this kofi Annan scholarship for management and MBA as well. And they really encourage application mostly from women from developing countries like ours. Pls try to explore that route also. if you need any inputs do not hesitate to ask.

I literally have done all the work there is aside learning german and finding a suitable university to accept me

Understood Bro but which English speaking country will give me 18 months post study work visa aside Ireland, I dun wanna go there, still all the Management courses I applied for last winter semester received a rejection. 5 of them except the one from Gisma who gave me sharperply since I had to pay 15k euros. I turned it down though.
Most Management courses are competitive especially on tuition free universities.
chimax1:
12,900 euros!! That's well over 5mill plus your BA. Would try an English speaking country if I were you. Good luk and congrats

I think you have to write the consulate to send you a note that you will not be able to apply for visa this winter as there are no more appointment dates. You send the note to fintiba and they will process your refund. Have you been trying to apply for date since?
I have been in the same situation. Palinus sent me back home twice saying I don’t need any letter from the consulate. That man is a zombie in human form. He wouldn’t give any chance to listen. I can’t even turn on my phone to prove to him the message I got from fintiba to get a letter from the consulate. Well, I m preparing for summer semester. I kuku leave the money with them!
