buzugee:Did you watch the Great Britain 4x400 relay? You obviously didn't. If you find that kind of emotion acceptable. . . . then you are no true sports fan. |
buzugee:quote me where i said that. |
You are lucky you are with her cause i would have cleaned u out a looooooooong time ago. I love me some ice. Anyways. . . . why are you spending your life savings on some broad? She doesn't hold your last name yet so why are you spending all you have earned? You need to grow up and be a man. Stop buying her unnecessary things. What are you trying to prove or are you bribing her to stay with you? I mean no offense but you sound like a kid that is playing in a mud puddle and complaining to his mom that he keeps getting dirty. Get a spine. |
HELL YEAH!!!!! all those who fall for Nigerian scams are greedy as hell. I remember one lady in houston left her five kids at home to marry some Nigerian man who told her to send 200,000 dollars so he could make the wedding arrangements. Of course when she came, the man was gone. And CPS took her kids. That is why when i watch "I go chop you dollar" by Nkem Owoh with what some of what he says and laugh. |
savanaha:I already did. You have your opinions and i have mine. You might not like mine, tough. I might not like yours, tough. I must admit, you are very good debater. Hannibal:In america, sports mean alot. They have leagues for four years old in almost every major sport. Even i started playing sports at the tender age of 10. So when it comes to Olympics or World events. . . . . it is natural for the US to come off as arrogant or to competitive. Folk are taught that there is no second best so you gotta come first. So when we lost in the relay. . . . we were crushed. That was ours for the taking and we hand gave it to the Jamaicans. But Usain Bolt's deserved it. I can't wait to see him as an matured Usain because the show boating distracts from is pure natural talent. When he matures and learns to keep it classy. . . . he will go down as one of the best for that country and the world. So America has added pressure more than any other country to do well. And when they don't, people are shocked. What is expected of them says alot. Look at the basket ball team. It was so hard accepting that bronze. But we did. And came back bringing home the gold to its rightful home. |
savanaha:I'm guessing that is a side insult for me. . . . |
Hannibal:Why wouldn't accept free suya? Am i crazy. No i didnt choke, but i did get up an almost spilled my drink when the goalie left his area. It reminded me of that stupid goalie for France in the Euro Cup. presido1:Judging that is an ethnic group. . . . nope. The restaurant is yoruba owned and so when you go there, you only see Yorubas and igbos. |
Manye i wish they showed this show in the states. ![]() |
KarmaMod:You have no idea what i went through in Nigeria. Never once did i even let the word "American" slip out of my mouth. It was my forsaken aunt you paraded around the compound saying it. After that, folk just looked down on us for doing what? Me and my siblings were innocent. I was only nine years old. I didn't care about any of that. All i cared about was basket ball and candy. So going there and being treated as such was something new and eye opening to me. I have been to Nigeria plenty of times after that. And have received a better experience. KarmaMod:As i said before, that is not how it works. Same with when Italy lost in swimming. Do you think they showed the Americans raise their flag? No, my friend told me they just moved on to another event. That is how it works. Hannibal:Ahh it was a sad and exciting time at Finger Licking. The place was packed. I mean it was so stuffed in their. And this one guy came in there buying folk suya and i was having a ball. But when that Maria boy made a goal. . . . Oh lawdy lawdy, watch grown men fall on the floor. They were cursing in Yoruba and igbo. And i was like "damn". it was bitter sweet. |
KarmaMod:Sorry TOH but that is not how it works in sports. And what if they can't speak English? Have you thought about that? Are they going to have to find a translator for every language just in case one of them win? Are you prepared to pay for it? |
Oka Mufasa. . . . . i get your point. America has a bad reputation when it comes to doping. I admit that. There is nothing to hide because it is the truth. But as i said before. . . . that was in the past. Now things have changed. Players are being constantly screened and some even do it with out being asked (Micheal Phelps). So just how China is trying to change their image towards to world in affairs. . . America is trying to change in sports. |
KarmaMod:Oka first off TOH. . . . YOU ARE WATCHING FROM AN USA ANGLE. So what do you expect. . . . . for them to run to the Chinese? The Americans want to see Americans. Same with my friend who is studying in Italy. When she is watching the Olympics. . . . to go straight to the Italian players, win or lose. That is what the call marketing. Folk tuned in to watch their country not somebody else's. Oka what is with yall and this American thing. When did i down pour on being Nigerian? Go and quote. The stated that as if i just became on and then i corrected him by saying that i have always been American. Doesn't mean i aint got no pride in Nigerian. SHOOT i stayed up all night in a Nigerian Restaurant (just ask Hannibal he knows what restaurant) cheering for them. And i have made countless donations when ever asked for my people because i believe in them. So if by me saying that i am American came off as insulting or whatever to you or the rest. . . . then i sincerely apologize. |
Yeah i heard about the dude who was joining the Blazers. At first i must admit i didn't see National Basketball player in him. Like i knew he was good but. . . was he good enough. But he surely did prove me wrong. Paul has the better skilll but Marc has the more power. |
idupaul:Brotha let me give it to ya straight. I am not a child oka so don't come at me that way. Scared me what? The only thing i fear is my God. . . . so i don't know where you are getting at. And im not warped just because i have my own opinion different from yours. And don't tell me what to do cause you aint my daddy. Mr. REAL Nigerian. Tufiakwa. |
Hannibal:Oka first off Hannibal. . . . i thought you were and intelligent sports fan. . . . but you let the Mufasa out of you again. The Jamaicans' erased Three records. not all. And you say you are an math expert. I must admit that the US in the past was known for its doping issues. But not any more. Im not saying we are starting with a clean slate but hey you got to start somewhere. Anyways. . . . who said Americans the most ignorant people on earth? Please show me the reference. Or is this another biased Mufasa statment. Oka now to your second statement. . . . i said that i was an american. Oka big whoop. I don't know why yal take it as the wrong way. Never once did i falsify that i was Nigerian or did i down pour on it. |
buzugee:Oka sweetheart im lost. Never once did i go around stating anyone that because im American, im better. If i did. . . . please go and quote me. And also i don't understand your fourth statement at all. And when were we friends in the first place? Gaining what? What is there to gain? Now you are calling me a fool? |
idupaul: idupaul:Ahhh. . . . . look at Dr. Phil in the flash. savanaha:So you are now calling me a "Blind Biased Fool" abi? So im warped right? And i have pitiful reasoning? |
Hannibal:The americans are very humble compared to GB!!!!! That was the highlight of all the radio shows. We were all laughing our heads off when they came freakin 4th in the relay like a bunch of hibernating bears. LMAO!!!! That was the funniest thing i have ever seen. That will go down in history as the worst expression of sportsmanship. Even Usain Bolts has more class than that. ![]() |
Yeah i meant the Spaniards. . . . i got we bit mixed up cause im watching the game on Tivo again. Hey his brother plays. . . . and i must admit it seemed like he played better. Unlike his Laker's brother, he didn't see the need to fall down like a spinless tree. |
buzugee:This is why in my childhood i had such resentment over some Nigerians. All my life me, my siblings, friends, all of which of Nigerian descent were deemed as "fake Nigerians". I remember my first time to Nigeria. They treated us like a bunch of spoiled brats who know nothing of the real world. They would make sarcastic jokes and comments. Purposely said "Howdy" to us just to make us feel even more stupid. Talked down to us and when we did any thing they would say "You yankees are spoiled rats" And because of this, i still refuse to speak a word towards some of my estranged family. You see I am an American. And i say it proudly. And i am an Nigerian. And i say that proudly. Do i think one is better than the other, no. So stop trying to make it seem that way. You guys don't know how insulting it is when you come off like that. I have dealt with racist white teachers, racist asian neighbors, racist lations, and racist middle eastern people all my life. And none of which fazed me. But this, this right here all this jive of me being fake. . . . that just hurts. |
savanaha:Thanks for the essay. Any ways hmmm. . . . you seem a tad bit bitter about the US. Which is understandable. Anyways as i said before everything is about image and pride. Look at Nigeria for instance. If an outsider sees the problems in Nigeria and says something. . . . watch everyone attack him like a hungry lion. They will say "What do you know? Have you lived there?" All that jive because no one wants to hear the bad when they already know it. So they rather be deceived with the good. Which is understandable. You have to remember that in the Olympics, it is USA vs. The world. Who gives a damn if you beat Great B, Italy, Germany, Mexico, and so on and so forth in a match. You might get a high five here and whoop whoop there. But if you beat USA, watch the world go crazy. So how do you not expect the US to be more competitive than any other country. They have an image to keep and defend. |
Hannibal:Are you serious Hannibal? You are actually saying countries like Jamaica, Kenya, and Ethopia did better than The Great Team USA? |
KarmaMod:Where are you coming from TOH? Who said anything about "everyone is cheating except them"? That comment about the track woman. . . . she was just caught in the moment. . . . she didn't mean it. Do you blame her? The relay belongs to the US and seeing it being owned by another team can really get to ya. Im not condoning what she said but hey sometimes your mouth slips. |
I stayed up late to watch that Gold Match. I aint gonna lie. . . . i was little worried first half. I mean those spinless Argies were chunking threes like they don't care. I was just screaming at The Redeem Team. They were literally watching those Argies taking their time to set up their stance, get the right form and shoot. I was like "What the hell is this?". Then they brought in LeBrone and he just started chunking threes like no tomorrow. Then i guess the coach got hard on them during half time. Because they came back hungry and went on full beast mode. My favorite part was when the last few minutes the started playing "Born in the USA" It was a true show of how we took back what was rightfully ours. I was so proud and when they hopped up on that podium elbow to elbow, i was just over whelmed with pride. What a way to end a winning streak. |
buzugee:You are lucky i just returned from church. You should bend low and Thank your God. But seriously do you have a grudge on me? Have i insulted you in any way. Because you seriously need to hop off. . . . your childish rants are indecent and very disgraceful. @savanah Listen and listen to me good. I know way more about the States than you do. The good and the bad. So don't even try to play that "I have seen the world" card. I never works. . . . especially in debating with me. Also before you start accepting compliments from people of this forum i. e. idupaul. . . . you should proceed with caution. Because if you hear his views. . . you might rethink where he is coming from. Anyways as i was saying. . . . you can adore those Chinese all you want. But ask yourself. . . . "What have they done for me?" |
SeanT21:America knows it has problems but outside countries refuse to see it. They use America as something to achieve as so they only focus on one thing. |
presido1:China will never be as good as America. They can lie all they want about "A Better Future" but everyone knows it is all a bunch of lies and propaganda. Who says they don't report it in the US? Goes to show you are not up to date on your American polices and such. |
idupaul:Oh im sorry that im not Nigerian enough to understand his post. I guess it proves im a fake Nigerian and the only thing really Nigerian about me is my name. |
SeanT21:Oh SeanT don't mind him. He wants to blame the US for his lack of knowing his host country history and faults. |
Of course, every country wants to make themselves look good. America is just overdoing it by digging out the bad in other countries, instead of cleaning out the dirts in their own backyard.
Yes and no. America does have its faults just like everyone. The problem is people only think of the USA as only the good. So when they hear of the bad it is like. . . . "OMG!!! I can't believe this actually exist in this country." |
triistar86:Yes im an igbo girl and proud of it. I am have a Nigerian citizenship because my parents are from there. And i have ALWAYS had an American citizenship. Thank you very much. Of course no country will take defeat easily. Look at some of those Middle Eastern countries who punished some of its players for losing. Winning means a lot. Why do you think some of these Nigerians of this thread went on a freakin hunger strike when they lost in soccer? Winning brings pride and happiness to a country. So of course being that China is not the favorite of any country will do anything to restore pride to its country. savanaha:Oh stop your complaining. What do you want huh? Is it America's fault that you failed to take a little ownership of reading up on your host country's news? Do you want a national apology? Everyones knows not to rely on one source for information. Read a book, open a magazine, search the internet. |
America hates China ke? Isn't it the other way around? Even if America does hate china, they can't do anything about it. America depends on China, economically.
America doesnt hate China. In previous years they had a "No Communicating W/ China" policy. They have started to break some of those obstacles. They are not necessarily America's best friend because of the Human Rights Policy, Tibet, and the exile of certain buddhist monks. |
