let me also put it to you Mr."ola_pluto" because you sound like a yoruba man from pluto devoid of knowldge about the earth and what goes on in Nigeria that if this man was making or cooking up this story, your Mr. Yemi Ajayi has every right to tell us who were his officers guarding that park that particular evening and time.who were the officers guarding that park that evening and how come they did not witness or testify they saw nothing happen to this man?they have to make a professional and thorugh investigation to prove to us who were the names guarding the park.a high ranking police officer who knows his job and is literate enough would not describe a victim of police brutality as "unkempt" and on that premise discredit the man's case, and you want us to listen to him.tomorrow, anyone could fall victim to the same treatment in an isolated location or otherwise, and you can come up telling us that the police says this or that and that certain names are not found.aside from the police being responsible to conduct an investigation, they are also responsible for safeguarding the people of this country.such a criminal incident taking place and the police making such denial does not portray them as competent people who we can trust our security into their hands.it is the same culture of lack of accountability that keeps dragging us back and putting corrupt men at the helm of our affairs.this has to stop now!

@ola_pluto

while i would not reply word for word to the questions you stated as Mr.Bukhari should do that personally and rather more convincingly do that, but i nonetheless have something to say about you and your comments.

your comments are rather rude, racist and personal.do you know this man before you utter the insensitive words you are typing here and trying hard to be a lawyer for your armpit-stinking,inhumane,brutal, and corrupt police officers? i find your comments more annoying, irressponsible and unprofessional than the so called yoruba fellow called Yemi Ajayi who you say is the deputy force PRO in abuja.perhaps being yoruba is all about tribalism. as your username is "ola_pluto" you tend to believe anyone carrying the name "yemi" more than any other person no matter how victimized he or she may be.

you cant use words such as "almighty britishness" and "Hail the very special Mr. Bukhari",and you think anyone with a sound mind would take you seriously and not see your outright racism and bias.your wordings are disgusting.

you build your entire argument on the premise that "the police says".why should i discredit this man because your police says so? you admit or accept the police denial of having two men with two particular names stationed in a very famous public place that is always protected by at least a couple or few police officers.who were the policement guarding that park that evening? do you really think the police denial of knowing those names makes them any less unserious, brutal, unprofessional and careless than they are already known? why would i believe those names are not found in the database of the police because the police says so,when this man has a case against those same people? treating this man rightly and justly has to do with making sure those two beasts in police uniforms are exposed publicly and dealt with according to law.no one is above the law and certainly even police officers are not.serving justice in this case will send a clear message to the brutal policemen who kill innocent nigerians at will for 20 naira bribe that time has changed for the better.this is justice for Nigerians as well.

i am asking you Mr. "ola-pluto",are you saying this man is forming up this story on his own?do you think he invented this story or are you and Mr. Yemi Ajayi accusing him of hallucination?perhaps he can give us more details to convince us that the incident took place and he is mentally sound.but as for you i will just stop short of expressing what is in my mind regarding your insenstive, racist and irresponsible words that you are personally turning against this man for no reason other than he is a foreigner and a british and you are either jealous or envious of that.shame on you,you are a disgrace to this country!!!

@Ola_Pluto

someone was robbed by police officers.if this had happened in the UK,the entire Nigeria and black world would have stood up to scream "racism".i really think you have no case to make.you are an insensitive racist using words like "koraa".

what is normal for the police to do is to fetch out those two policemen and punish them.dont tell us about police incompetence that their names were not found in the database.that is not the victim's fault.or is it not obvious that because "oyinbo" is involved the police is refusing to bring out those two drunken criminals in uniform?

you are talking of being coherent.do you know how incoherent your own statements in defense of the police sound? reading them could give headache.

How many expats or foriegners go around alone in Nigeria even in Abuja and late at night at that? How do we know even if the guys that robbed him were actually cops?
There is more to this story or it is a total fabrication. I even believe this guy is out to deliberately discredit the Nigerian Police and some top officials.
what i hate is injustice.what is unfair and unjust is bad.

you are talking about discrediting the police, does the police have any credit remaining for anyone to discredit it? nonsense!

how do we know they were actually cops? what do armed robbers go to do in a secured park in abuja?how did they manage to smuggle their guns and themselves with uniform into the park and come out of the gate without any hindrance? do armed robbers to parks in nigeria for picnic?or do they go searching for who to pick-pocket in arbitary manner? i know that armed-robbers dont gamble with their chances and they do their homework well before embarking on any operation.they would not go into a park late and come out unhindered. please open your head.or may be you too are drunk and you should go to bed and sleep.may be when you wake up you will think clear and contribute more meaningfully in a just way to be fair.

people like you commenting in a carefree way because its a foreigner that is involved and because the policemen are "nigeria police" are in fact giving us more bad image.

I can't help but smdh @ some ppl and their callous comments. That country will continue the trash that it is ppl like u around. A man was abused which we all know occurs a lot in Nigeria and u are here defending the officers and even laying all sorts irrelevant accusations against him.
i tire O!

no wonder the bad system where no one is held accountable and there is no justice will continue to haunt us.

for God's sake in a public park, you dont expect the place to be like an abandoned grave-yard.there are people there who take care of the place and guard it.there should be witnesses to confirm the names of those men and from which station they are sent and who requested their presence even if those witnesses did not witness the actual incident.regardless rightly or wrongly what the foreign man went to do there or what happened, the action of those criminals is inexcusable and a thorugh investigation should've been done than simply sending an officer as escort to the place for sightseeing.

This man is best ignored. Why is the british foreign office not even taking his case up? Why is he not taking Nigerian Police to court if his evidence is strong enough? Is he going to be honest to actually say how much the Police have devoted to his case and found nothing? Will he be honest enough to admit his incoherent statements so far?
People have been sympathetic to his cause and blind to the actions of the state. Nigeria may not be the best state, but we still have some things working? Few police officers were ordered to follow this man to the scene of incidence immediately after he reported the case, they didnt find anything! The names of police officers he mentioned is not even in the database!
from what you are saying,i understand the following points:

1.) those men in police uniform were armed robbers and not real policemen
2.) the man is lying about such an incident
3.) there were no security men in that place bearing those names

so which are you suggesting? shouldn't the police have reached a tangible conclusion and investigate this matter to put a full stop by publishing their findings?

You had 200k on you and went to relax in a public park late at night. I am guessing you either wanted to buy drugs or solicit for some boy love or both.
You approached the two men for s e x or have been known to frequent parks late at night for such.
Amma rite?
let us assume that truly this man went there to fvck boys or even to seduce the policemen (of all people),does that mean they should administer punishment on him? what about "innocent until proven guilty"? why then do we complain that our police are brutal and irresponsible? are they not shooting nigerians for 20 naira? and besides, you really think that they would do all this because he was there soliciting boys or drugs? he just needed to wave 20,000 in their faces and they would assist him in the task! we know the men we are talking about.

The iddiot should go and sit down. After his country rubbed us dry in the name of colonisation he is spreading rubbish against our police.

He should go-and-sit-down!

Period.
your comment is out of place and also criminal and racist.

this man who was robbed by the police is most likely an immigrant to the UK just as many africans are found there.

besides,if you think you want to avenge colonialism, that is for the nigerian government to do.at least,we are not asking for war with the colonialist but as Qaddafi did with Italy,we should get compensation through the official channel.if you think robbing citizens of other countries is the right way to avenge for colonialism then you are no less a criminal.besides, you should know well that your stance is not an official policy by the government of nigeria and most nigerians will not support your immorality of robbery.using such indecent act, could trigger a response from abroad.believe me,if the UK wants to re-colonize nigeria today directly using force and its combat troops,it would take a matter of days before we start to see british soldiers in our streets and transporting our oil for free as they did with Iraq.while i do not support western oppression and imperialism and i always condemn them and their schemes to colonize the world indirectly, but criminal activity by the police who are meant to provide assurance to foreigners and safety and security to us all, should not be tolerated.it should be dealt with decisively to be a lesson for others.otherwise this country would be inhabitable for foreigners and nigerians alike.then we would only have ourselves to blame as our economy, image and country could suffer.

so please, think first before posting nonsense.

Iran will boost electricity exports to Iraq by 300 megawatts, through which 50 megawatts will be exported to Syria and Lebanon, IRNA news agency reported.

Iranian deputy energy minister Mohammad Behzad inked an agreement in Tehran on Saturday with deputy energy ministers of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon to increase electricity exports to Iraq by 300 megawatts to reach 1,300 megawatts and transfer at least 50 megawatts via Iraq to Syria and Lebanon.

Behzad said earlier that Iran’s power exports are expected to reach a mark of $1billion in the current Iranian year which ends on March 19.

Iran’s electricity network is connected into the power grids of seven neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

I, Khomeini Bukhari, A British Citizen Is Fighting For Justice After Being Robbed By Two Drunk Police Officers In Nigeria
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Justice-4-Khomeini-Bukhari/185337854889174?sk=info

Dear ALL,

I am writing to everyone until appropriate action is taken by the Government of Nigeria.

I am writing in regards to an incident that occurred on Saturday the 29th of October which till this day has left me very shocked and traumatized and has left a scar on me. My name is Khomeini Bukhari and am a British National.I am the Head of Africa Division of the company I work for. I have been going to Nigeria since January 2009 and have absolutely loved every moment of it. This visit to Nigeria was for the purpose of meeting my fiance in order to make our wedding arrangements and to meet my in laws once again to formalize our plans. On Saturday 29th October, in the evening I entered Millennium Park in Abuja at 7pm as I wanted to relax. Upon leaving at around 8pm two drunk police officers stopped me, they told me no visitors are allowed after 6pm, I explained to them I didn't know this as I'm a visitor and when I entered at 7pm there were lots of people and nobody stopped me at the gate. They took to me a dark spot in the park and sat me on a rock where they harrased me. I pleaded with them and they were threatening to beat me and strip me naked and kidnap me and the rest. They asked for my I.D and I said I left it in the hotel, they then searched me, upon searching me they found 200,000NGN in my pocket and took it from me, they took my Breitling Chronomat Evolution Wristwatch (worth 1.3 million NGN) and took it from me leaving me with practically nothing, they wanted my phone but I begged and cried. They saw my wallet but I had some change in the wallet pocket and not out so they didn't spot it. I am writing this as I'm very uneasy and going through psychological trauma. I rang a Military General and he was trying to help me, as I was trying to discreetly call the Special Advisor to the president he didn't pick. I couldn't make any more phone calls as told me if they see me try and make any phone they will break my phone and told me at this point it is only the three of us so no one can save me, not even the IG of Police nor the President himself. I was very afraid. as in the Nigerian news and in the Nigerian newspapers it always shows how corrupt and dangerous the Nigerian police are and also was very afraid to go to the police station. Over that weekend I had to borrow money from my friends and live very economically.

On Monday 31st October I went to the British High Commission in Abuja and called the Foreign Commonwealth Office and they guided me to Maitama police station. The British High Commission also gave me one of their police escorts to accompany me. I reported to the DIO of the police station and also wrote a full report including the names of the officers and he gave me one Sgt Samson, that day I went with Sgt Samson to the scene and tried my best to re-en-act the scene, he said he will investigate it. After that day I have not heard anything from Sgt Samson nor anyone else in Maitama Police station. The following day I went to the Ministry of Police Affairs, I met with a Mr Victor who said he is the Chief Security Officer to the Minister, he again took a full report from me and he assured me that as I have given a full report with the police officers names that he within 2 days all will be resolved. I asked him about my possessions that were taken of me, he said, that they may not find them but as its the police that did it to me the Government will take full responsibility and compensate me. That day he gave me a Hilux Truck and sent me to FCT Command under the Minister’s instructions, as he claimed, to go and meet with the Assistant Commissioner of Police (operations) Mr Wilson Inalegwu. Upon reaching there he took the documents sent from the Ministry and told me he will assign the best Investigation officer that within a few days all will be resolved, he assigned a Mr Alechenu for me, who till date has not given me any feedback. I have gone back and forth many times to both places however I am not getting any feedback. Unless I don't go to them they dont I don't get an audience. When I call Mr Victor he doesn't pick but when seeing him he just smiles and says, we are doing our best but does not give me any feedback. Does this mean they dont care, or are they trying to hide the police officers and cover up the story?

On Thursday 17th November I went to meet ACP (operations) Mr Wilson Inalegwu and he told me, he wants me to meet the Commissioner of Police FCT the following day at anytime around 11am. Upon arriving to Command FCT the next day at that time, he was away on a meeting and the Commissioner was in his own meeting. I sat in the waiting room for quite some time then left out of annoyance feeling that they are not serious about my matter. The PA to the Commissioner when talking to him, all he said to me was he will let me know when the Commissioner is free. That is not an answer to give someone.

I am now in Britain and from over here I am still following it up however after giving them my details they have not called me to give me any update. I texted Mr Victor (Chief Security Officer of the Minister of Police Affairs) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr Wilson Inalegwu after there was no reception on their phones on the 21st of November and have not received a response.

Since I arrived I have also emailed the Foreign Commonwealth Office and the Nigerian High Commission. The SA of the Nigerian High Commissioner, Mr A.O.Enikanolaiye, did not respond to my email however, when I called him on the 30th of November 2011, he said Robberies happen everywhere, and I asked do they happen everywhere by the police or by criminals, he had no answer. Then he said you have reported it to the Nigerian Police so Im sure they are handling the case. I said I have given them precise details and since I went to their office, which I have several times, I have not received any feedback, they have my UK number and have not bothered to even call. Then again he stayed quiete. He then said currently the High Commissioner is too busy to see me, I asked has he seen my email, he responded he is too busy to see me but if I want to see him (meaning himself) he can meet me. I said I was a visitor from Great Britan to your country and I got robbed by the Nigerian police and they took a lot of money of me and the High Commissioner is too busy to meet me to even say anything, so he doesnt even have 30 minutes for me. I asked when is it then possible to see him, even if its anytime this week or next week or even the week after, he said he doesnt know. Now the conversation was longer than this but its a shame they are downgrading this event, its a shame they are not doing anything about it. In Nigeria a lot of crimes are done by the police but that does not make it right. Are they covering themselves, do they think if they mess me around I will eventually give up. I have no intention of giving up till I get justice. This type of event is completely unacceptable.

Does the Nigerian Police really care that I got robbed of my possessions. I feel they know who the police on duty were. How can it be after I have given the names they still have not found them (The two police officers that robbed me, their names are Samual Ekpah and Daniel Marcus). If my descriptions were vague I could understand but I gave them full details.

As you all know I have been all over the news, I have been in several Newspapers and also on TV. In addition more news reporters from Britain and Nigeria are very interested in my case.

I AM DOING THIS TO GET JUSTICE. I WILL NOT STOP TILL I GET JUSTICE. I PLEA WITH EVERYONE ON THIS SITE TO PLEASE SUPPORT MY PLEA. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NIGERIA BUT AM VERY SAD THAT NO ONE IN THE GOVERNMENT SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. PEOPLE IN THE GOVERNMENT ARE MEANT TO SERVE AND PROTECT US, NOT NEGLECT US.

I BELIEVE IF I TRULY LOVE NIGERIA I WILL FIGHT THIS TILL THE END. IF I GET JUSTICE THEN THE NIGERIANS WHO HAVE SUFFERED THE SAME TYPE OF THINGS WILL HOPEFULLY ALSO GET JUSTICE.

LASTLY,I WOULD LIKE TO PLEAD WITH ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE TO PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT THIS GROUP SO THEY CAN ALL PARTICIPATE AND SUPPORT THIS GREAT CAUSE.

With Regards,

Khomeini Bukhari

Millions of Evangelical Christians Want to Start World War 3 … to Speed Up the Second Coming

Washington's Blog

Millions of Americans believe that Christ will not come again until Israel wipes out its competitors and there is widespread war in the Middle East. Some of these folks want to start a huge fire of war and death and destruction, so that Jesus comes quickly.

According to French President Chirac, Bush told him that the Iraq war was needed to bring on the apocalypse:

In Genesis and Ezekiel Gog and Magog are forces of the Apocalypse who are prophesied to come out of the north and destroy Israel unless stopped. The Book of Revelation took up the Old Testament prophesy:

“And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”

Bush believed the time had now come for that battle, telling Chirac:

“This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins”…

There can be little doubt now that President Bush’s reason for launching the war in Iraq was, for him, fundamentally religious. He was driven by his belief that the attack on Saddam’s Iraq was the fulfilment of a Biblical prophesy in which he had been chosen to serve as the instrument of the Lord.

And British Prime Minister Tony Blair long-time mentor, advisor and confidante said:

“Tony’s Christian faith is part of him, down to his cotton socks. He believed strongly at the time, that intervention in Kosovo, Sierra Leone – Iraq too – was all part of the Christian battle; good should triumph over evil, making lives better.”

Mr Burton, who was often described as Mr Blair’s mentor, says that his religion gave him a “total belief in what’s right and what’s wrong”, leading him to see the so-called War on Terror as “a moral cause”…

Anti-war campaigners criticised remarks Mr Blair made in 2006, suggesting that the decision to go to war in Iraq would ultimately be judged by God.

Bill Moyers reports that the organization Christians United for Israel – led by highly-influential Pastor John C. Hagee – is a universal call to all Christians to help factions in Israel fund the Jewish settlements, throw out all the Palestinians and lobby for a pre-emptive invasion of Iran. All to bring Russia into a war against us causing World War III followed by Armageddon, the Second Coming and The Rapture. See this and this.

This all revolves around what is called Dispensationalism. So popular is Dispensationalism that Tim LaHaye’s Left Behind series has sold 65 million copies.

Dispensationalists include the following mega-pastors and their churches:

Jerry Falwell

Pat Robertson

Billy Graham

They are supported by politicians such as:

Newt Gingrich

Joseph Lieberman

John McCain

Texas Senator John Cronyn

Former House Minority Whip Roy Blunt

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay

And others

As professor emeritus of history Paul S. Boyer notes:

Abundant evidence makes clear that millions of Americans — upwards of 40 percent, according to some widely publicized national polls — do, indeed, believe that Bible prophecies detail a specific sequence of end-times events. According to the most popular prophetic system, premillennial dispensationalism … the Islamic world is allied against God and faces annihilation in the last days. That view is actually a very ancient one in Christian eschatology. Medieval prophecy expounders saw Islam as the demonic force whose doom is foretold in Scripture.

***

The prophecy magazine Midnight Call warmly endorsed a fierce attack on Islam by Franklin Graham (son of Billy) and summed up Graham’s case in stark terms: “Islam is an evil religion.” In Lindsey’s 1996 prophecy novel, “Blood Moon,” Israel, in retaliation for a planned nuclear attack by an Arab extremist, launches a massive thermonuclear assault on the entire Arab world. Genocide, in short, becomes the ultimate means of prophetic fulfillment.

Dr. Timothy Webber – an evangelical Christian who has served as a teacher of church history and the history of American religion at Denver Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Vice-President at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL, and President of Memphis Theological Seminary in Tennessee – explains:

In a recent Time/CNN poll, more than one-third of Americans said that since the terrorist attacks of 9/11, they have been thinking more about how current events might be leading to the end of the world.

While only 36 percent of all Americans believe that the Bible is God’s Word and should be taken literally, 59 percent say they believe that events predicted in the Book of Revelation will come to pass. Almost one out of four Americans believes that 9/11 was predicted in the Bible, and nearly one in five believes that he or she will live long enough to see the end of the world. Even more significant for this study, over one-third of those Americans who support Israel report that they do so because they believe the Bible teaches that the Jews must possess their own country in the Holy Land before Jesus can return.

Millions of Americans believe that the Bible predicts the future and that we are living in the last days. Their beliefs are rooted in dispensationalism, a particular way of understanding the Bible’s prophetic passages, especially those in Daniel and Ezekiel in the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. They make up about one-third of America’s 40 or 50 million evangelical Christians and believe that the nation of Israel will play a central role in the unfolding of end-times events. In the last part of the 20th century, dispensationalist evangelicals become Israel’s best friends-an alliance that has made a serious geopolitical difference.

***

Starting in the 1970s, dispensationalists broke into the popular culture with runaway best-sellers, and a well-networked political campaign to promote and protect the interests of Israel. Since the mid-1990s, tens of millions of people who have never seen a prophetic chart or listened to a sermon on the second coming have read one or more novels in the Left Behind series, which has become the most effective disseminator of dispensationalist ideas ever.

***

During the early 1980s the Israeli Ministry of Tourism recruited evangelical religious leaders for free “familiarization” tours. In time, hundreds of evangelical pastors got free trips to the Holy Land. The purpose of such promotional tours was to enable people of even limited influence to experience Israel for themselves and be shown how they might bring their own tour group to Israel. The Ministry of Tourism was interested in more than tourist dollars: here was a way of building a solid corps of non-Jewish supporters for Israel in the United States by bringing large numbers of evangelicals to hear and see Israel’s story for themselves. The strategy caught on.

***

Shortly after the Six-Day War, elements within the Israeli government saw the potential power of the evangelical subculture and began to mobilize it as a base of support that could influence American foreign policy. The Israeli government sent Yona Malachy of its Department of Religious Affairs to the United States to study American fundamentalismand its potential as an ally of Israel. Malachy was warmly received by fundamentalistsand was able to influence some of them to issue strong pro-Israeli manifestos. By the mid-1980s, there was a discernible shift in the Israeli political strategy. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Jewish state’s major lobbying group in Washington, D.C., started re-aligning itself with the American political right-wing, including Christian conservatives. Israel’s timing was perfect. It began working seriously with American dispensationalists at the precise moment that American fundamentalists and evangelicals were discovering their political voice.

***

Probably the largest pro-Israel organization of its kind is the National Unity Coalition for Israel, which was founded by a Jewish woman who learned how to get dispensationalist support. NUCI opposes “the establishment of a Palestinian state within the borders of Israel.”

***

In their commitment to keep Israel strong and moving in directions prophesied by the Bible, dispensationalists are supporting some of the most dangerous elements in Israeli society. They do so because such political and religious elements seem to conform to dispensationalist beliefs about what is coming next for Israel. By lending their support-both financial and spiritual-to such groups, dispensationalists are helping the future they envision come to pass.

***

Dispensationalists believe that the Temple is coming too; and their convictions have led them to support the aims and actions of what most Israelis believe are the most dangerous right-wing elements in their society, people whose views make any compromise necessary for lasting peace impossible. Such sentiments do not matter to the believers in Bible prophecy, for whom the outcome of the quarrelsome issue of the Temple Mount has already been determined by God.

Since the end of the Six-Day War, then, dispensationalists have increasingly moved from observers to participant-observers. They have acted consistently with their convictions about the coming Last Days in ways that make their prophecies appear to be self-fulfilling.

***

As Paul Boyer has pointed out, dispensationalism has effectively conditioned millions of Americans to be somewhat passive about the future and provided them with lenses through which to understand world events. Thanks to the sometimes changing perspectives of their Bible teachers, dispensationalists are certain that trouble in the Middle East is inevitable, that nations will war against nations, and that the time is coming when millions of people will die as a result of nuclear war, the persecution of Antichrist, or as a result of divine judgment. Striving for peace in the Middle East is a hopeless pursuit with no chance of success.

***

For the dispensational community, the future is determined. The Bible’s prophecies are being fulfilled with amazing accuracy and rapidity. They do not believe that the Road Map will-or should-succeed. According to the prophetic texts, partitioning is not in Israel’s future, even if the creation of a Palestinian state is the best chance for peace in the region. Peace is nowhere prophesied for the Middle East, until Jesus comes and brings it himself. The worse thing that the United States, the European Union, Russia, and the United Nations can do is force Israel to give up land for a peace that will never materialize this side of the second coming. Anyone who pushes for peace in such a manner is ignoring or defying God’s plan for the end of the age.

***

It seems clear that dispensationalism is on a roll, that its followers feel they are riding the wave of history into the shore of God’s final plan. Why should they climb back into the stands when being on the field of play is so much more fun and apparently so beneficial to the game’s outcome? As [one dispensationalist group's] advertisement read, “Don’t just read about prophecy when you can be part of it.”

Atheist War Hawks Manipulate Believers to Beat the Drums of War

Leo Strauss is the father of the Neo-Conservative movement, including many leaders of the current administration.

Indeed, many of the main neocon players – including Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Stephen Cambone, Elliot Abrams, and Adam Shulsky – were students of Strauss at the University of Chicago, where he taught for many years.

The people pushing for war against Iran are the same neocons who pushed for war against Iraq. See thisand this. (They planned both wars at least 20 years ago.) For example, Shulsky was the director of the Office of Special Plans – the Pentagon unit responsible for selling false intelligence regarding Iraq’s weapons of mass. He is now a member of the equivalent organization targeting Iran: the Iranian Directorate.

Strauss, born in Germany, was an admirer of Nazi philosophers and of Machiavelli. Strauss believed that a stable political order required an external threat and that if an external threat did not exist, one should be manufactured. Specifically, Strauss thought that:

A political order can be stable only if it is united by an external threat . . . . Following Machiavelli, he maintained that if no external threat exists then one has to be manufactured

(the quote is by one of Strauss’ main biographers).

Indeed, Stauss used the analogy of Gulliver’s Travels to show what a Neocon-run society would look like:

“When Lilliput [the town] was on fire, Gulliver urinated over the city, including the palace. In so doing, he saved all of Lilliput from catastrophe, but the Lilliputians were outraged and appalled by such a show of disrespect.” (this quote also from the same biographer)

Moreover, Strauss said:

Only a great fool would call the new political science diabolic . . . Nevertheless one may say of it that it fiddles while Rome burns. It is excused by two facts: it does not know that it fiddles, and it does not know that Rome burns.

So Strauss seems to have advocated governments letting terrorizing catastrophes happen on one’s own soil to one’s own people — of “pissing” on one’s own people, to use his Gulliver’s travel analogy. And he advocates that government’s should pretend that they did not know about such acts of mayhem: to intentionally “not know” that Rome is burning. He advocates messing with one’s own people in order to save them from some “catastophe” (perhaps to justify military efforts to monopolize middle eastern oil to keep it away from our real threat — an increasingly-powerful China?).

What does this have to do with religion?

Strauss taught that religion should be used as a way to manipulate people to achieve the aims of the leaders. But that the leaders themselves need not believe in religion.

As Wikipedia notes:

In the late 1990s Irving Kristol and other writers in neoconservative magazines began touting anti-Darwinist views, in support of intelligent design. Since these neoconservatives were largely of secular backgrounds, a few commentators have speculated that this – along with support for religion generally – may have been a case of a “noble lie”, intended to protect public morality, or even tactical politics, to attract religious supporters.

So is it any surprise that the folks who planned war against Iraq and Iran at least 20 years ago are pushing religious disinformation to stir up the evangelical community?

Conservative Christians were the biggest backers of the Iraq war. And the Neocons are catering to them to try to talk them into supporting war with Iran, as well.

I’ve recently seen a swarm of spam claiming that all Muslims are evil, that they want to take over the world and establish a Muslim caliphate, and that they want to nuke Iran. They misquote Muslims and use false statements to try to stir up religious hatred.

They are simply using the Straussian playbook: stir up religious sentiment – even if you are personally an atheist – to create and demonize an “enemy”, to promote the war that you want to launch.

Not a Problem with a Particular Religion … But of Immaturity

Most Americans confuse Zionism and Judaism.   But many devout Jews are against Zionism, and Zionists can be Christian.

And as I’ve repeatedly noted, fundamentalist Jews, Christians, Muslims and Hindus are all very much alike, and often willing to use violence to spread their ideology … while more spiritually mature Jews, Christians, Muslims and Hindus are all much more tolerant and peaceful than their evangelical brothers:

As Christian writer and psychiatrist M. Scott Peck explained, there are different stages of spiritual maturity. Fundamentalism – whether it be Muslim, Christian, Jewish or Hindu fundamentalism – is an immature stage of development. There are peaceful, contemplative Muslim sects – think the poet Rumi the poet and Sufis – and violent sects, just as there are contemplative Christian orders and violent Christian groups (and peaceful and violent atheists).

While there are certainly some Arab terrorists, Islam cannot be blamed for their barbaric murderous actions, just as Christianity cannot be blamed  for the Norwegian Christian terrorist – Anders Behring Breivik’s actions.

University of Chicago professor Robert A. Pape – who specializes in international security affairs – points out:

Extensive research into the causes of suicide terrorism proves Islam isn’t to blame — the root of the problem is foreign military occupations.

The 9/11 hijackers used cocaine and drank alcohol, slept with LovePeddlers and attended strip clubs … but they did not worship at any mosque. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and this (links in source of the article;see main link below). So they were not really Muslims.

And even atheists like Stalin can be terrorists, or at least genocidal maniacs.

Indeed, all religions teach compassion, love and the Golden Rule.  Likewise, atheism teaches respect for the individual,  the most good for the most people, and helping everyone reach their human potential.

Some within each philosophy follow these teachings, and others want to kill everyone who doesn’t agree with them.   The issue is not really the label of this religion or that, but of maturity and  true spirituality and compassion.

Foreign AffairsRevealed: How Israel Offered To Sell Apartheid South Africa Nuclear Weapons by Onyocha(op): 9:58pm On Feb 19, 2012
Exclusive: Secret apartheid-era papers give first official evidence of Israeli nuclear weapons

The secret military agreement signed by Shimon Peres, now president of Israel, and P W Botha of South Africa. Photograph: Guardian

Secret South African documents reveal that Israel offered to sell nuclear warheads to the apartheid regime, providing the first official documentary evidence of the state's possession of nuclear weapons.

The "top secret" minutes of meetings between senior officials from the two countries in 1975 show that South Africa's defence minister, PW Botha, asked for the warheads and Shimon Peres, then Israel's defence minister and now its president, responded by offering them "in three sizes". The two men also signed a broad-ranging agreement governing military ties between the two countries that included a clause declaring that "the very existence of this agreement" was to remain secret.

The documents, uncovered by an American academic, Sasha Polakow-Suransky, in research for a book on the close relationship between the two countries, provide evidence that Israel has nuclear weapons despite its policy of "ambiguity" in neither confirming nor denying their existence.

The Israeli authorities tried to stop South Africa's post-apartheid government declassifying the documents at Polakow-Suransky's request and the revelations will be an embarrassment, particularly as this week's nuclear non-proliferation talks in New York focus on the Middle East.

They will also undermine Israel's attempts to suggest that, if it has nuclear weapons, it is a "responsible" power that would not misuse them, whereas countries such as Iran cannot be trusted.

A spokeswoman for Peres today said the report was baseless and there were "never any negotiations" between the two countries. She did not comment on the authenticity of the documents.

South African documents show that the apartheid-era military wanted the missiles as a deterrent and for potential strikes against neighbouring states.

The documents show both sides met on 31 March 1975. Polakow-Suransky writes in his book published in the US this week, The Unspoken Alliance: Israel's secret alliance with apartheid South Africa. At the talks Israeli officials "formally offered to sell South Africa some of the nuclear-capable Jericho missiles in its arsenal".

Among those attending the meeting was the South African military chief of staff, Lieutenant General RF Armstrong. He immediately drew up a memo in which he laid out the benefits of South Africa obtaining the Jericho missiles but only if they were fitted with nuclear weapons.

The memo, marked "top secret" and dated the same day as the meeting with the Israelis, has previously been revealed but its context was not fully understood because it was not known to be directly linked to the Israeli offer on the same day and that it was the basis for a direct request to Israel. In it, Armstrong writes: "In considering the merits of a weapon system such as the one being offered, certain assumptions have been made: a) That the missiles will be armed with nuclear warheads manufactured in RSA (Republic of South Africa) or acquired elsewhere."

But South Africa was years from being able to build atomic weapons. A little more than two months later, on 4 June, Peres and Botha met in Zurich. By then the Jericho project had the codename Chalet.

The top secret minutes of the meeting record that: "Minister Botha expressed interest in a limited number of units of Chalet subject to the correct payload being available." The document then records: "Minister Peres said the correct payload was available in three sizes. Minister Botha expressed his appreciation and said that he would ask for advice." The "three sizes" are believed to refer to the conventional, chemical and nuclear weapons.

The use of a euphemism, the "correct payload", reflects Israeli sensitivity over the nuclear issue and would not have been used had it been referring to conventional weapons. It can also only have meant nuclear warheads as Armstrong's memorandum makes clear South Africa was interested in the Jericho missiles solely as a means of delivering nuclear weapons.

In addition, the only payload the South Africans would have needed to obtain from Israel was nuclear. The South Africans were capable of putting together other warheads.

Botha did not go ahead with the deal in part because of the cost. In addition, any deal would have to have had final approval by Israel's prime minister and it is uncertain it would have been forthcoming.

South Africa eventually built its own nuclear bombs, albeit possibly with Israeli assistance. But the collaboration on military technology only grew over the following years. South Africa also provided much of the yellowcake uranium that Israel required to develop its weapons.

The documents confirm accounts by a former South African naval commander, Dieter Gerhardt – jailed in 1983 for spying for the Soviet Union. After his release with the collapse of apartheid, Gerhardt said there was an agreement between Israel and South Africa called Chalet which involved an offer by the Jewish state to arm eight Jericho missiles with "special warheads". Gerhardt said these were atomic bombs. But until now there has been no documentary evidence of the offer.

Some weeks before Peres made his offer of nuclear warheads to Botha, the two defence ministers signed a covert agreement governing the military alliance known as Secment. It was so secret that it included a denial of its own existence: "It is hereby expressly agreed that the very existence of this agreement, shall be secret and shall not be disclosed by either party".

The agreement also said that neither party could unilaterally renounce it.

The existence of Israel's nuclear weapons programme was revealed by Mordechai Vanunu to the Sunday Times in 1986. He provided photographs taken inside the Dimona nuclear site and gave detailed descriptions of the processes involved in producing part of the nuclear material but provided no written documentation.

Documents seized by Iranian students from the US embassy in Tehran after the 1979 revolution revealed the Shah expressed an interest to Israel in developing nuclear arms. But the South African documents offer confirmation Israel was in a position to arm Jericho missiles with nuclear warheads.

Israel pressured the present South African government not to declassify documents obtained by Polakow-Suransky. "The Israeli defence ministry tried to block my access to the Secment agreement on the grounds it was sensitive material, especially the signature and the date," he said. "The South Africans didn't seem to care; they blacked out a few lines and handed it over to me. The ANC government is not so worried about protecting the dirty laundry of the apartheid regime's old allies."

but why is the west only condemning the government and holding it responsible for all the attrocities committed in syria? why is the west not condemning the militias that are being supported by western Wahhabi allies like qatar and saudi (ruled by dictatorial monarchies) to topple the syrian government? doesn't that show that the west is complacent and has a hand in the unrest in syria?

this isn't even about oil.syria is a strategic player in middle east politics and opposes israel by supporting resistance to occupation movements in palestine (hamas) and in lebanon ( Shia hezbollah,an ally of Iran).also syria itself is a very close and important ally of Shia Iran,a rival of the west.the politics and importance of syria as a strategic player in middle east politics outweighs the importance of oil and resources syria possesses in the eyes of the west.

so let us dont fool ourselves here.

Tell your arabs brothers not to always concede to the west demands. BTW,it was just condemnation and not sanctions. Assad has not shown compassion like starting reforms like in saudi where women would soon start to vote in local elections. Assad is like his father. You also forgot the HAMA raid in the 80s. HABA! He should simply step aside. They mentioned iran, the same iran, china is reducing its oil imports from and s shifting towards the saudis. No b so wadafi do? Where is he now? Syria is not assad property. BTW,which kind oil syria get sefhuhhuhhuhhuh When compared to its arabian brothers. As far as am concerned, let them kill them self. The west is not even entering @ all and you people are whining. French FM said they aren't entering. So stop complaining.
please dont talk trash.are you comparing syrian women to saudi women? that is a big mistake.

do you know how free (below islamic standards) syrian women are compared to the saudi women (who are caged and maltreated away from islamic standards)?

the two cannot be compared.the syrian president is supported by christians who see themselves as a minority fearing that his ousting could result to christians like what happened to christians in iraq after the fall of saddam.

Assad's popularity, Arab League observers, US military involvement: all distorted in the west's propaganda war

A demonstration in support of Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president, in Damascus. 'Some 55% of Syrians want Assad to stay, motivated by fear of civil war.' Photograph: Hussein Malla/AP

Suppose a respectable opinion poll found that most Syrians are in favour of Bashar al-Assad remaining as president, would that not be major news? Especially as the finding would go against the dominant narrative about the Syrian crisis, and the media considers the unexpected more newsworthy than the obvious.

Alas, not in every case. When coverage of an unfolding drama ceases to be fair and turns into a propaganda weapon, inconvenient facts get suppressed. So it is with the results of a recent YouGov Siraj poll on Syria commissioned by The Doha Debates, funded by the Qatar Foundation. Qatar's royal family has taken one of the most hawkish lines against Assad – the emir has just called for Arab troops to intervene – so it was good that The Doha Debates published the poll on its website. The pity is that it was ignored by almost all media outlets in every western country whose government has called for Assad to go.

The key finding was that while most Arabs outside Syria feel the president should resign, attitudes in the country are different. Some 55% of Syrians want Assad to stay, motivated by fear of civil war – a spectre that is not theoretical as it is for those who live outside Syria's borders. What is less good news for the Assad regime is that the poll also found that half the Syrians who accept him staying in power believe he must usher in free elections in the near future. Assad claims he is about to do that, a point he has repeated in his latest speeches. But it is vital that he publishes the election law as soon as possible, permits political parties and makes a commitment to allow independent monitors to watch the poll.

Biased media coverage also continues to distort the Arab League's observer mission in Syria. When the league endorsed a no-fly zone in Libya last spring, there was high praise in the west for its action. Its decision to mediate in Syria was less welcome to western governments, and to high-profile Syrian opposition groups, who increasingly support a military rather than a political solution. So the league's move was promptly called into doubt by western leaders, and most western media echoed the line. Attacks were launched on the credentials of the mission's Sudanese chairman. Criticisms of the mission's performance by one of its 165 members were headlined. Demands were made that the mission pull out in favour of UN intervention.

The critics presumably feared that the Arab observers would report that armed violence is no longer confined to the regime's forces, and the image of peaceful protests brutally suppressed by army and police is false. Homs and a few other Syrian cities are becoming like Beirut in the 1980s or Sarajevo in the 1990s, with battles between militias raging across sectarian and ethnic fault lines.

As for foreign military intervention, it has already started. It is not following the Libyan pattern since Russia and China are furious at the west's deception in the security council last year. They will not accept a new United Nations resolution that allows any use of force. The model is an older one, going back to the era of the cold war, before "humanitarian intervention" and the "responsibility to protect" were developed and often misused. Remember Ronald Reagan's support for the Contras, whom he armed and trained to try to topple Nicaragua's Sandinistas from bases in Honduras? For Honduras read Turkey, the safe haven where the so-called Free Syrian Army has set up.

Here too western media silence is dramatic. No reporters have followed up on a significant recent article by Philip Giraldi, a former CIA officer who now writes for the American Conservative – a magazine that criticises the American military-industrial complex from a non-neocon position on the lines of Ron Paul, who came second in last week's New Hampshire Republican primary. Giraldi states that Turkey, a Nato member, has become Washington's proxy and that unmarked Nato warplanes have been arriving at Iskenderum, near the Syrian border, delivering Libyan volunteers and weapons seized from the late Muammar Gaddafi's arsenal. "French and British special forces trainers are on the ground," he writes, "assisting the Syrian rebels, while the CIA and US Spec Ops are providing communications equipment and intelligence to assist the rebel cause, enabling the fighters to avoid concentrations of Syrian soldiers …"

As the danger of full-scale war increases, Arab League foreign ministers are preparing to meet in Cairo this weekend to discuss the future of their Syrian mission. No doubt there will be western media reports highlighting remarks by those ministers who feel the mission has "lost credibility", "been duped by the regime" or "failed to stop the violence". Counter-arguments will be played down or suppressed.

In spite of the provocations from all sides the league should stand its ground. Its mission in Syria has seen peaceful demonstrations both for and against the regime. It has witnessed, and in some cases suffered from, violence by opposing forces. But it has not yet had enough time or a large enough team to talk to a comprehensive range of Syrian actors and then come up with a clear set of recommendations. Above all, it has not even started to fulfil that part of its mandate requiring it to help produce a dialogue between the regime and its critics. The mission needs to stay in Syria and not be bullied out.

Thank you !!

But this is not an emotional thing firstly.

Secondly ,to compare this Boko Haram killing spree to the ANC fight for freedom is the most unbelievable thing I have heard so far in 2012.

The ANC targeted the South African soilders and police. They were not killing innocent people.

Dialgue was possible because Mandela chose to follow the path of peace, imagine what would have happened , if Mandela had a Boko Haram mentality with their silly list of demands, such as Sharia for the entire North and destruction of all churches.

SMH

"frosbel" the hate-monger,the christian boko haramist on nairaland (and may be beyond) is seeking hard to still bring religion into the issue.before, even when boko haram sneezes and spread germs,it is islam that is responsible.now seeing the real story we know that boko haram started first by killing muslim scholars and among them who have now gone into hiding.

you keep telling us boko haram wants sharia for the entire north.you want to make it look like the muslims are trying to impose islam.if truly boko haram wants this, then both you and boko haram have the same mentality and outlook.both of you are blinded by hate and arrogance.boko haram obviously wants their own "sharia".that is not the sharia i believe muslims follow.and in case you "frosbel" is as blind as boko haram,i should let you know that there is already sharia law in the north.so this isn't about sharia.this is about boko haram demands.stop trying to create more religious division.from your posts on nairaland especially the ones in the religion forum,i can sense that you are very wicked and hateful against others.you would be the type that will not employ people if their religion is not like yours.

as for the OP,what boko haram has done is unjustified by killing innocent people and attacking churches.those innocent worshippers should not have died.they dont deserve that.what the police too has done and the army and the government was wrong.Nigerians should bring the government into account for extra-judicial killings.this is not acceptable in democracy where the right of people must be protected.the reality of the irresponsible ways the police and government handled the boko haram issue should be condemned.today it is boko haram, tomorrow who will the president who is in a democracy give command to "finish off" like yaradua did with boko haram in an extra-judicial manner?we know also how the police waste the lives of young men on the streets for 20 naira bribe.so even though the boko haram acts are condemned and unjustified, what the government has also done must be condemned.i am not seeking justice for boko haram but justice for nigeria and for all of us.if we dont deal with issues justly, then the injustice can come back to hunt us.injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere.

sometimes i wonder if people come to nairaland to play and have fun.very irresponsible set of people.

whenever someone makes a statement,i would advice you all to check the truth in his words and not in his name.Ali Monguno or whatever his yeye name is may be the devil himself.but what he is saying should be of concern to us all.america cannot defend itself and you think they will come here and defend us all for free? in fact do you think they dont know what is going on with boko haram? they surely have a hand directly or indirectly.that is what i think deep down and believe.this is all part of their plan to keep dividing africa into smaller failed states that they can easily control, manipulate and suck the resources out of it as it pleases them.watch out libya.they have slowly but surely started killing themselves.Iraq is in mess and they withdrew.afghanistan is also in mess and they are being killed.

when they come to nigeria,it will only make the situation worse.their presence will embolden radicals and extremists from neighboring countries and around the world to fight their jihad here.dont think at that point in time when you have bombs raining on nigeria's north, anywhere in nigeria would be safe.the northerners or boko haram or whoever would make sure the south burn.now i dont want that.americans would still be killed and they will get back at innocent civilians.the country would be messed up and they would eventually withdraw after few thousands of the americans are killed.americans back home will pressure their government after they have put us in mess and taken what they could to withdraw and save the lives of american servicemen.then we will come back to stare at our faces and start thinking all over again of what to do.divide the country?you should start by dividing your brain.lol, i laugh in chinese!!!not that easy.

and all of you think this would happen while the nigerian army looks with its hands folded?i dont think so.so you stu-pid civilians and politicians should better behave yourself when you are left to rule yourselves or you better respect the presence of the nigerian army.i think our army and police can defeat boko haram.unfortunately many innocent lives would also be lost in the process.that is why the army and police should be indoctrinated to know and accept the fact that they are to defend the lives of innocent people and the sovereignty of the country.that should be their ideology.they should be told that innocent lives should not be lost or oppressed.they should try to do a clean job against the boko haram and wipe them out completely.when you kill a few thousand of them, they will sit-up.boko haram is bringing terror on the country for no good reason other than being sponsored from the outside or within.so the government should take terror to them.start conducting suprise operations.be killing them for the sake of killing them.they will learn, believe me.we need an iron-fisted president and not one that is soft.being soft either makes the president complacent or weak and clueless.the government of nigeria can either make the situation worse or it can sit-up,depend on itself and its local resources to wipe out boko haram.

this is a very serious issue and not one that you think you can laugh about foreign hands coming in to "help" when there is high possibility those same people created boko haram.this is the time for us to unite and join hands and force the government to take its responsibilities as it should.not a time to be mocking ourselves and making fun that americans are coming.do you think americans would be in afghanistan if they can protect themselves?everywhere they have being it is a story of misery for them and those countries.call any country:vietnam, korea, cuba, lebanon, somalia, iraq, afghanistan?where?

When I want to cook something new. I use the internet or call friends etc. You show interest.
î can cook everything my husband can cook and vice versa even though we come from different countries. That is because when you stand in the kitchen you watch and ask questions and it comes automatically. Even my kids just by popping in and out of the kitchen can cook some of the dishes.

This woman was not maltreated. Besides these conflicts are even worse in same race marriage.
if the husband is working full time, who would teach her? besides,i really dont see the issue of food as a problem.i appreciate good manners and reciprocated respect more than feeding or clothing someone.as a Mother-In-Law,she should have shown appreciation for the wife who is coming from an entirely different background living and taking care of her grandchildren and son.i dont think either the wife did anything wrong.

the issue of cooking or food is trivial and that should be for the husband to take care of or learn to live with it.i also know that in Europe,it could be hard learning to cook nigerian or african food because the ingredients are not readily available.you may need to make adjustments and that is why it becomes hard.

also,i dont think the wife would not know how to fry plantain or make ordinary stew.she may.so we should not assume she is not taking care of the husband after living with him in peace for 8 years.i personally would not like my wife to expect my mother to be her house girl.i wont even tolerate the idea of my wife letting my mother do any work.but it does not mean that my mother on her own initiative should not show some warmth and concern and want to help, especially if i have not eaten our food for years.and i am certain that the MIL is still active and not sick.she watches movies but cannot play with her grandchildren.it shows she is self-centered and unexposed.i believe more trips to the UK will make her change.the Turkish wife should not get frustrated.she should try and be strong, tolerant and accomodating around Nigerians.it is not an easy task for foreigners.i know that.let the wife dont have the idea she would not want to see her MIL again even though she can ignore her arrogance.the Turkish wife should actually wish that the MIL make more trips to the UK.that will break her self-centered pride and arrogance and expose her to other cultures and people,

talking from my experience with yoruba elders,i must say they are very rude people and backward thinking (unexposed and resistant to change).they sort of impose their age and implicitly demand worship.have you ever tried as a young boy or man greeting an elder yoruba with "good morning"? the most likely answer is :"how are you".they don't return the greeting.

the issue is they oblige their children to respect elders.but if the elders dont have respect and are rude people (very uncouth),how do you think the children would perceive that? definitely, this is why our igbo brothers always refer to the yoruba show of respect as pretense.they can even go down on their knees to greet you and stick out their tongue at you when you turn your back!hypocrites;and their elders are to blame.

going through the behaviour of Jesus and Muhammad in the respective faiths, you sometimes learn that these two men actually sometimes demonstrate their teachings.they teach people good things through their actions.for God sake why can't an elder yoruba tell a kid "good morning" instead of "how are you" in a rude way,if you expect that kid to have good manners.

i hope the Turkish lady would seek the attention of her husband if he is loving and caring and talk to him.he must listen to her.i also appeal to the Turkish lady not to use what i have said against her husband.he would feel bad because he is yoruba even if that is the truth about his people.so just take it easy.you dont have to look at his family members.i believe for you to have lived 8 years with him,i dont think he is a bad man.there are Nigerian men you can't live with for 8 minutes!!!!

so take it easy.just act as if the mother does not exist.you dont even have to bother yourself with her grey-hair arrogance.let your husband cater to the needs of his children first.if you people don't have money his relatives back in nigeria would not help him even to put his children in school.it is not bad to help relatives but you guys must first be able to take care of yourselves.

for those trying to portray a peaceful image for christians around the world, are most wars fought in the last 200 years on earth not initiated and carried out by christian nations? who were involved in two world wars where close to 100 million people if not more were killed? the entire problem that brought muslims into limelight is the palestinian zionist occupation and the western media trying to win the war against muslims by destrotying their image.was the zionist occupation of palestine not blessed and planned by the british colonial masters in palestine? i know that if you review history you would see that before the palestinian conflict, there never was a muslim or arab suicide bomber.quite ironic,it was the Japanese that started suicide bombings during world war 2.

as for the attck itself in adamawa, the educated ones,be they muslims or christians must wake up.let us see these kind of attacks which are intended to be provocative and inciting in nature as the acts of ignorant criminals who do not have the fear of God.it is wrong when you portray boko haram as "islamists".you are giving them undue and undeserved honor.you are making the criminals look like representatives of muslims.and they have really killed muslims in the north as well and the muslim masses do not favor them anyhow.so if you are fair, when christians who are ignorant and stupid, blinded by hate thanks to the brainwashing even pastors do for christians to hate islam and keep their christian flock intact, carry out attacks, you should also see that as "christian extremist attack".we either be fair here or we use the same yardstick for both sides.

these criminals and whoever is supporting them (i have long suspected the west particularly america and israel to be behind boko haram) want nigeria to be engulfed in religious war.the west wants to extend and keep their so called "war on terror" alive.they recently withdrew from Iraq and things are not working well forthem in getting syria and overthrowing the syrian president."war on terror",that is one way of extending their influence and having cover for imposing their will and exploiting other countries.now it seems is nigeria's turn.so nigerians who pretend always to be smart and intelligent extra-terresstial beings should either wake up or watch themselves eaten by the beasts.this is the time to make their plot fail through patience and perseverance.time to spread the message that nigeria is targeted.time not to hate others based on stereotypes the enemies of nigerians have painted others of us.time to reject the religious divide they are trying to impose.time to hold hands together.i dont want to be seen as someone spreading conspiracy theories;as it is too early to start checking if men in the presidential villa including the preisdent know things on boko haram that we dont know or having hand in the group.it is either he is involved or he is clueless and should give way to those competent to do the job properly.this nonsense group cannot be killing innocent civilians and holding muslims to ransom and creating a religious war while the president looks clueless.and the problem is christians are easily fooled.when the beast of CAN (Oritsejafor) and the millionaire pastors issue blind irresponsible and provocative statements, christians cheer for them.and those men are no less corrupt men who embezle the money of the poor masses.

i think there is urgent need for impeachment of the preisdent with seriousness and full sense of responsibility to start immediately.the impeachment should be one that will replace him.and not one for the cameras.the country is in crisis.if those that claim to represent the people directly in the senate and house of reps. cannot do something, then it looks like everyone will drown in a sinking boat.so,it is in the hands of those who represent the people to prove their worth and tell us that the millions they are being paid is not for nothing.people in their respective constituencies should ask their respective reps. and senators to go ahead with impeachment.the people must be heard.write to your reps. and senators and tell them what you want.

at least if Jonathan and his vice are gone and David Mark takes over,i see peace.the north would be pleased because Mark is someone like Gowon to be viewed and taken.the christians would not feel cheated as the muslims felt when Yar'adua died,as Mark is a christian that will replace Jonathan.and also Mark is a retired army officer who is expected to be tough with the security situation in the country.so please,Nigeria needs some peace.we cannot allow bloodshed by the wreckless and weak police force brutalizing civilians for Jonathan's sake.this is democracy.voting for someone and winning election is not the end of the democratic process and do not ensure dictatorship.we cannot also continue with the frequent massacres in the north.someone who is serious and responsible capable of handling the affairs of the country should take over.this fuel subsidy removal is even a good opportunity for the people to demand change.before the fuel subsidy removal the country was in problems and the president did not act as a president.

mabell:
Who is more of an area boy
Yesterday, a friend of mine told me of how an hausa bike man stabbed his cousin over change
The amazing thing is this, it happened in the heart of the niger delta.
So why shouldn't pastor Ayo talk. Do you think Christians are not fed up
It's disheartening you know, how a man can just wake up and stab somebody in the neck and yet you talk about pastor Ayo being an area boy.
I think what Nigeria needs is prayers, prayer for peace and understanding not pointing of fingers
so the "President of CAN" is now an Okada rider!!!! cool cool cool cool cool cool

now we know the difference!

this pastor Ayo is only good with his big mouth to make inflammatory remarks to set the country ablaze.the only thing he and his likes care about is tithe from the poor masses.

the government should protect the people of nigeria and not an area boy like Ayo.his statements are very divisive and controversial.if nigeria was under military regime, this man will not make such statements.he loves his life.the government should definitely take action against him.

i think with this confession we are only being thrown deeper into darkness and obscurity.

there are now many theories one could think of:

1.) Boko Haram is a name being used by different people to spill violence and set a clash between muslims and christians and a north/south divide.

2.) boko haram is innocent of targeting innocent people and the government agents tried to demonize them.

3.) the west have finally realized the difficulty in dividing nigeria and they are backing off their attempts to lay waste to the country and innocent lives.

4.) boko haram has realized that they can only win the fight against the government if they have the people to back them.so they are now claiming to be practicing the Islamic guidelines and rules of engagement in not targeting civilians and innocent people.

5.) the press release is fabricated and aimed at fueling the protest against fuel subsidy removal and the government.

6.) boko haram is the first phase of the plan, the west still has more evil plans to come and be executed in Nigeria.so Nigerians be careful!

7.) there is disagreement between boko haram local members and their backers within nigeria or outside nigeria.so boko haram is going back to their senses.

if you ask me what i personally think? i would tell you it is hard to clearly see the picture.but i have a deep feeling within me that boko haram or the acts of terrorism we have witnessed in the north have backing from foreign powers especially the USA that predicted the doom of Nigeria in 2015.boko haram is not a simple movement or terror cell.there are major intelligence bodies who mastermind their activities as obvious from the way they operate.what has even made it more complicated is the obscurity in which they operate and their objectives.as in,even northerners have denied them support.so what is boko haram fighting for and for who?
