realchange:what a useless goat you and your likes who have aired this view are. they brought us together at the expense of nigerians who complain.now they will divide and conquer us at our expense again. to "balkanize" a country comes with ethnic cleansing, genocide, killings and many loss of lives. if you are ready to be the remote control of the west, innocent nigerians are not ready to die in order achieve yet another evil plan of the colonial masters. europe has so many nations, ethnicities, tribes, clans, religions, ideologies, philosophies but yet they are united (european union) in advancing their countries, putting end to human suffering, building wealth for their nations and united in exploitating other countries. we africans cannot be thankful that the plan that brought us together as a country called Nigeria is a blessing and something that can be a role model for greater africa and unity among black and african people. keep accepting to be used and dumped out of hatred for ourselves.when they are done,it is all of us that will cry bitterly. |
Beaf:just shut up your foul mouth!!! it is same people like you who corrupt the country.you are here selling the interest of the people and their rights and even their right to express themselves because you've being hired and paid for supporting one side against the other. why dont you feel the guilt?dont you have a conscience? even presidents resign.wont you think of resigning from being a sell-out? you've actually sold your soul!! |
dasparrow:here is the article that every Nigerian must read from start to finish to know the danger that the west is brewing for our country and to spill our blood: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-840526.0.html |
the evil plan targeting nigeria presently from boko haram to the so called "fuel subsidy removal" is a western plot engineered to destabilize this great country and destroy the lives and hopes of our people.nigerians should wake up!!!! |
logically speaking the scheme of the western countries that are facing economic problems is clear for all to see. Nigeria produces crude oil, therefore,Nigeria gets huge foreign currency for their economy and also Nigerians buy fuel for less. take also into account that "first world profit is third world poverty" and if you turn it round:"third world poverty is first world profit". so the game here is to knock one of the two benefit away.Nigeria will continue getting paid for its oil.and as ever the money is embezzled back into european banks supporting the west's economic growth. the money that should be helping nigeria's economic in nigerian banks is not present in nigeria and also there is mismanagement. the main benefit for nigerian is cheap fuel.this is something citizens of the western countries dont enjoy.so now with the prevailing suffering and poverty here,Nigerians are made to pay the same amount for fuel as countries that do not produce crude.that amount citizens of western countries pay is paid with good transport systems (like subway and cheap flights) and also high income earning. so who is the loser here?who is scheming and why is the UN and EU happy? your guess is as good as mine!!!Nigerians are now paying high fuel prices to the west's economies. |
i keep warning of western intelligence bodies having a role in this boko haram saga.this happened in Iraq where a bomb at a Shia holy place in a city called Samarra almost tore Iraq into pieces.they were bombing shia mosques to make it look sunnis were attacking.the shia refused to retaliate to avoid civil war and destablize iraq in which they are the majority taking power from saddam.then finally attacked was the place were Shia Imams of the Prophet Muhammad's lineage were buried.that place is very sacred to the shiites.after tension reached boiling point,we started hearing about attacks on sunni mosques.that is how the "divide and conquer" policy of the west works.america is actualizing nigeria's break-up in 2015 which they predicted. we have being hearing about attacks on churches and even mosques and condemnation from northerners and muslims.everyone is disowning boko haram.now, the attacks have started to take an ethnic dimension.careful observation would show that the first stage of religious attacks have failed.Nigerians have being careful to react.so now we are seeing ethnic attacks.this is a different strategy.again,i want to beg my igbo brothers to be very careful not killing innocent northerners who got nothing to do with boko haram.if this is the plan of western intelligence bodies, this evil plan will waste igbo blood and the blood of all nigerians.they will want to use the blood of innocent people to accomplish their plan.please people,do not follow hatred and blind bigotry to help them kill innocent people who are our brothers in this nation.we would be achieving their plan for them by wasting innocent blood. |
a man who trades the opinion of others for wealth and fortune is no different from a pros.titute who sells to the highest bidder. in fact from the policies of this forum,it is evident there is some sort of bargaining and bias going on.so whoever Seun is,using the forum as a mirror,he is a perfect example of our corrupt politicians.he would really make no difference. we saw how Oshiomole used the fuel increment during Obasanjo's tenure to rise to stardom as a "freedom fighter".now that he is in power,we've not heard anything from him.i even heard from someone that he is in fact ironically supporting the so called "removal of fuel subsidy".it is so shocking that when he wanted to use the fuel case and the masses to rise into prominence,he saw it bad for fuel increment.but now,it is okay, proper and time for the so called "fuel subsidy" to go. |

with the recent remarks by General Buhari on fuel subsidy and his sugggestion/recommendation reducing the expenditure and salaries of government officials right from the top,and GEJ too many blunders, incompetence and inaction,if the presidential election is to hold today who would you vote for:GEJ or Buhari? it would be wonderful for the moderators to add a poll to this thread.let this thread serve as a nairaland vote of confidence or "no confidence" on GEJ. |
let this thread be up there in the forum so that people understand the scam called "fuel subsidy". |
this is just a way of making nigerians poorer. the west doesn't have oil.so to keep up with us,they urge wicked policies for our puppet leaders to implement. yet,we dont see the west "removing subsidy" on electricity or the benefits their citizens get from their technological advancements generally. generally the citizens of the west be they poor or rich live good lives.we dont live good live, and now they are exploting our oil we should benefit from.this is bad, real bad! |
Fani-Kayode spoke my mind!!! very intelligent words. i recently opened this thread: "Why Has The IMF Urged The Nigerian Government To Remove Fuel Subsidy? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-837339.0.html |
did anyone watch this clip? |
rip |
recognizing anything called 'fuel subsidy' is the first failure slap to any plan to revert the pump price. |
^^^^^^^ are you trying to be foolish or sacarstic? so it is better for the IMF and the developed world to suck our resources than for nigerians to benefit from their own resources? ![]() |
^^^^^ obviously, the IMF is looking for ways to suck money from the nigerian people and not way for the government to spend on the people if there is anything called 'fuel subsidy' at all! as th saying goes:"first world profit is third world poverty"! |
2 January 2012 Last updated at 15:21 GMT Nigeria fury as fuel prices double after subsidy ends Ordinary Nigerians and trade unionists have condemned the government for withdrawing a fuel price subsidy which has led petrol prices to more than double in many areas. The BBC's Chris Ewokor in the capital, Abuja, says many Nigerians are angry at the announcement, fearing the price of many other goods will also rise. There have been small protests and the trade unions have called for a strike. Nigeria is Africa's biggest oil producer, but imports refined petrol. Years of mismanagement and corruption mean it does not have the capacity to refine oil, turning it into petrol and other fuels. Analysts say many Nigerians regard cheap fuel as the only benefit they get from the nation's oil wealth. Several previous governments have tried to remove the subsidy but have backed down in the face of widespread public protests and reduced it instead. The IMF has long urged Nigeria's government to remove the subsidy, which costs a reported $8bn (£5.2bn) a year 'Remove corruption, not subsidy' Our correspondent says that early in the morning, many petrol stations in Abuja were closed as the owners were not sure what price they should charge, but they have since opened. Prices have increased from 65 naira ($0.40; £0.26) per litre to at least 140 naira in filling stations and from 100 naira to at least 200 on the black market, where many Nigerians buy their fuel. There are reports that petrol prices have tripled in some remote areas, while commuters have complained that motorcycle and minibus taxi fares have already doubled or tripled. Some 200 people have gathered in central Abuja, chanting "Remove corruption, not subsidy." They are being watched by a large contingent of soldiers and armed police. There are also reports of protests in the main northern city, Kano. Announcing the end of the subsidy on Sunday, the government urged people not to panic-buy or hoard fuel. "Consumers are assured of adequate supply of quality products at prices that are competitive and non-exploitative," it said in a statement. The government recently released a list of the biggest beneficiaries of the subsidy, who include some of Nigeria's richest people - the owners of fuel-importing firms. Nigeria's two main labour organisations, the Trades Union Congress and the Nigerian Labour Congress, issued a joint statement condemning the move. "We alert the populace to begin immediate mobilisation towards the D-Day for the commencement of strikes, street demonstrations and mass protests across the country," the statement said. "This promises to be a long-drawn battle; we know it is beginning, but we do not know its end or when it will end." "We are confident the Nigerian people will triumph," it said. Labour activist John Odah told the BBC's Network Africa programme that, judging from past experience, he doubted that the government would use the money saved by removing the subsidy to help ordinary people. He said that the subsidy should have been retained until Nigeria's refineries had been brought up to scratch. "As an oil-producing country, we ought not to be importing fuel in the first place," he said. He also pointed out that Nigeria does not have many commuter railways, so people have little choice but to use motorcycle and minibus taxis, whose prices are closely linked to the price of petrol. Fuel smuggling Nigeria is Africa's biggest oil producer but most of the available 2 million barrels per day are exported in an unrefined state. The country lacks refineries and infrastructure so has to import refined products such as petrol, which is expensive. However, with the price of fuel much cheaper in Nigeria than in neighbouring countries, the subsidy led to widespread smuggling. Nigerians are heavy users of fuel, not just for cars but to power generators that many households and businesses use to cope with the country's erratic electricity supply. The government finance team led by respected pair central bank governor Lamido Sanusi and Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala have long argued that removing the subsidy would free up money to invest in other sectors and relieve poverty. IMF head Christine Lagarde recently praised Nigeria's attempts to "transform the economy". However, correspondents say the measures just announced could add to the difficulties faced by Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, who declared a state of emergency on Saturday in areas hit by Islamist violence. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-16382286 |
boko haram using the name of God in vain to camouflage and add spice to the crimes they have committed and incite religious fervor.when they were killing muslims in danaturu and maiduguri was it also for the sake of Allah?definitely as the saying goes "religion is the opium of the masses".boko haram is abusing Islam to the envy and zealotry of the fanatical and senseless christians who are blinded by hate and ignorance.shame on you all who make irresponsible and provocative statements. |
see the animals using the "fvck" word to provoke the sensitivities of others.they even shamelessly call others cowards as if they can use that word face to face with fellow nigerians who are muslims. i really dont know why we christians are rude to the beliefs of others. |
