greatgenius: @oonan.. prayer is not just kneeling down and begging God for your daily bread-which is what you think it is...prayer is nothing more than a fervent statement of what is so... like i said no prayer-whaterver the form-goes unanswered. Every prayer—every thought, every statement, every feeling—is creative. To the degree that it is fervently held as truth, to that degree will it be made manifest..in your experience....

When people say a prayer has not been answered, what has actually happened is that the most fervently held thought, word, or feeling has become operative/answered.. couple that with the fact that most people do not really know how to "properly" pray- this is where the confusion lies..

most people incorrectly pray by asking/wanting instead of choosing or giving thanks.You will not have that for which you ask, nor can you have anything you want..You cannot have it, if you want it( it is that simple ).. This is because your very request of asking or wanting is a statement of lack.. anyone saying they want a thing only works to produce that precise experience—wanting—in their reality. if you pray wanting a car, ajob or wanting to be rich then you will experience that exact request-wanting(then you go around shouting prayer is useless, meanwhile the universe had granted your very request)

The correct prayer therefore is never a prayer of supplication, but a prayer of gratitude. when you give thanks you are affirming that, that which you choose is already there.( i know you are not a christian but in reference to jesus- this is why he always gave thanks in advance before every "miracle" )

EUROBOMBER: This pastor turn atheist is confused and needs loads of help and these are my reasons for saying this:

1. The Christian faith and belief in God is not based on logic. Jesus Himself said that we should accept the gospel like little children. If u tell ur little boy that u would buy him an aeroplane, he would believe u with all his heart even if u don't have up to N10,000 in ur account. Our minds are too small to understand all the mysteries around God. Someone asked where did God come from, how did He begin because everything must have a beginning but here again we are limited because 'Begin' is an English word. There are spiritual expressions beyond English language and indeed every other language that mere humans cannot comprehend.

2. The whole concept of life and existence is God's game. God is really having fun being God. He is sovereign and does whatever pleases Him and answers to nobody that is why God says in the bible that He will have mercy on whoever he pleases. The creation of Adam & Eve, the garden of Eden experience etc are all God's big ludo game and up till today, the whole world is His ludo game. Any wise man would only pray for God's mercies every day and try to stay in His good books.

3. [b]Atheism is foolishness do u know why? Let's look at this scenario. I choose to believe that there is a God and I believe the bible, I try each day to live as the bible has instructed with the hope and assurance that when I die, God would take me to heaven and save me from hell. Now my bible tells me that all those that reject God will burn in the fires of hell forever. Now u on the other hand have chosen to believe that there is no God and that he does not exist. If we both die and it happens to be that u were right and that God never existed, I haven't lost anything really, after all I lived a good life (married, raised children, had nice friends, acquired education, kept a job or business, enjoyed Christmas, etc). If on the other hand, it turns out to be that I was right, that there was a God all the while then u're completely finished. U will continue to burn in unquenchable fire powered by brimstone while worms will continue to eat through your body for ever and ever and ever. The words with which to describe how horrible hell fire is can not be found in any dictionary; only one hour in the ferocious fires of hell will convince u.

How come not to draw a clear line between the two? But I could understand your stuff, always mindful of the flesh and dodge the spirituality. Rexyl: Just the way you disclose this, king Solomon might have presumed that there should be a distinction between what becomes of man and animal at the end of their lives but was still battling confusion. It is a single occurrence with Jesus that erased all the doubts and gave a clear conviction about where and to whom the spirit of man belongs. It is the resurrection and physical manifestation of ascension of Christ to heavens that prove that the spirit of man will rise after death. Nobody among those that witnessed the event, believers and non delivers ever denied it. This is a shot to believers victory over death and expectation of live after death.

I have no fellows involved in violent or cruel behavior , though , I do know that whether on the back of atheism or religion, there will always be cruel and blood thirsty men.

plaetton: If you need the fear of god to make you behave well, then you are simply an actor, a pretender to lofty morality. Likewise, if fear of being arrested by police is the only thing that stops you you fro running red traffic lights, then it means that you neither appreciate nor understand the importance of road safety .
in this example, atheist obey traffic rules with or without police oversight simply because they understand the importance of road safety as being beneficial to everyone at all times.


The god-fearing brethren,on the other hand, us only motivated to obey traffic signs by the fear of the police. So they would easily fluent traffic rules if they think police were not watching.
Their morality is fluid.
