Family › Re: Anja Ringgren-Loven Helps More Nigerian Children (Photos) by oostin: 4:16pm On Feb 17, 2016 |
One major problem with we Nigerians is that in our self-righteousness we act like the Pharisees of Biblical times.
All we do is condemn yet our hearts are darker than the hearts of those whom we condemn. If only we had as much love as the "immoral Europeans" whom we so readily condemn, we certainly won't be where we are.
Kudos to the Danish woman who left one of the best countries on Earth to live in to go to a village which likely does not have running water to save kids she's not related to in any way whatsoever and who have no way of rewarding her. |

Anyway the military should hasten efforts to decimate these terrorists in their hideouts so that they can't regroup and attack more innocent villagers. |
Celebrities › Re: Jude Okoye To Peter Okoye: Only God Can Rescue You by oostin: 12:31pm On Feb 17, 2016 |
vorigan: . . . . . . .Jude Okoye rode on his brothers success . . . . . .now that they have jumpstarted his career, he needs to get out and find his own lemons . . . . . . . . . . .this is no family business, he is just a pest Jude Okoye rode on his brothers' success?! Is that supposed to be a joke?! When they were still known as Smooth Criminals who was there to encourage them? Yes it was Jude. When Jude released his first music video sometime in 1996'with the eponymous title "Jude Engees" he featured Peter and Paul who hadn't even taken up the name Smooth Criminals not to talk of Psquare. Those of us who grew up in Jos particularly those of us who attended St Murumba College know that apart from their parents no one has had a more profound effect on the career of Psquare than Jude except perhaps Mr. Patrick Wakwa and Father Fegus who ignited their musical careers as Coordinators of the music and drama club of St Murumba College. Please check their history before you reach your conclusions. |

Politics › Re: Dickson: I Can No Longer Borrow To Pay Salaries by oostin: 2:12pm On Feb 13, 2016 |
APCHaram: Bayelsa is a civil servant state with majority of employed people working in one sort of capacity under the state govt.
Most importantly , Bayelsa adopts federal wage scale unlike beggars in osun.
The drop in oil prices will hit hard on Bayelsa since there is hardly any industry outside oil to sustain the govt.
Bayelsa even at now is still better than osun which can't even pay half of the low sate wage which isn't up to minimum wage . your argument is entirely baseless and you know it. Anambra state with more than twice the population of Bayelsa State and with a budget of less than N150bn as against Bayelsa's over N300bn pays its civil servants good wages and is not complaining. Cross River state pays its civil servants on time without hassles and on a much smaller budget. I'm really surprised that you are even trying to justify this financial recklessness. As long as we can't look beyond ethnic sentiments and APC, PDP sentiments we're never going to develop as a nation. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor In Adultery Mess, Flees Housewife’s Home Unclad by oostin: 10:56am On Feb 13, 2016 |
It's quite a sad story, just don't understand what's going on with "Men of God" these days.
Another thing I don't understand is why the police are involved, as bad as the "Pastor's" action is adultery is not a crime in Southern Nigeria.
It's quite clear that the affair was consensual, the man is at liberty to send his wife parking but it's got nothing to do with the police. |

Anyone who knows any thing about the HUMVEE aka HUMMER knows that there's nothing "converted" about this vehicle, that's exactly what the original HUMMER looks like.
The first HUMMER ever sold to a civilian was bought by Arnold Schwarzenegger and it looked exactly like this one only that the colors are different. |

Flyoruboy: You don shame them. Keep your head up girl! Winston Churchill, one of the greatest British statesmen, was a poor student but that didn't stop him from attaining greatness. The following people didn't even graduate uni and they are billionaires today so your future is bright
Bill Gates Richard Branson Steve Jobs Michael Dell Orji Uzor Kalu Folorunsho Alakija (she didn't even attend Uni )
Please try to put things in proper context. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Michael Dell dropped out of school because they were too smart for their class. They were genuises at quite a young age. Richard Branson didn't have good grades because his teachers failed to realize that he had poor eyesight, Folorunsho Alakija's case is exceptional and only happened because government officials were giving oil blocks to their drivers and hairstylists. The lady's case is certainly not the same as the names you mentioned. |
