A lot of people commenting on this thread don't seem to understand the concept of combat/war. Nigeria does not need as many aircrafts as Algeria or Egypt for example because none of Nigeria's neighbours poses a credible aerial threat to the country. We are actually on good terms with pretty much all our neighbours. Algeria on the other hand has a very tense relationship with Morocco because of the territory called Western Sahara while Egypt borders a very volatile Middle East. Most of Nigeria's threats comes from insurgents, terrorists, bandits, kidnappers e.t.c. who have no intentions of fighting a conventional war with the Nigerian military. It therefore makes perfect sense that most of the aircrafts Nigeria is buying at the moment are aircrafts with ground attack capabilities which is what we really need. You don't buy aircrafts to put them on display, you but aircrafts because you need them. I am sure when the need arises for some fancy MiG 29 Fulcrum we will get some of them. |
Honestly these PDP guys are clowns. What do they take Nigerians for!!! They were in power for sixteen (16) whole years and didn't deem it fit to discuss restructuring. Now they are out of power it has become convenient to discuss restructuring. Utter Rubbish!!! |
And who exactly is going to pay for the DNA tests? Do you have any idea how much those tests cost? |
Get a good lawyer who would advise you on what to do. Under no circumstance should you or the Police break into the property. If you do that the tenant would sue for damages and would almost certainly win. Our laws and courts seriously discourage landlords from resulting to self-help in trying to evict tenants. I'm aware that the Lagos State Landlord and Tenant Law of 2011 provided for damages of N250,000 against a landlord who results to self-help in trying to evict a tenant. I don't know what the current law states but there'll definitely be a provision for damages if you forcefully enter the premises. |
It's not the number of Justices that is the problem. The United States Supreme Court has 9 Justices who serve for life and they're doing just fine. The problem with the Supreme Court of Nigeria is that there are so many cases that get to the Supreme Court that have no business being there. It's preposterous that matters between landlords and tenants still get to the Supreme Court. The Nigerian Supreme Court should mirror the Unites States Supreme Court and handle mainly constitutional matters and criminal matters involving the death penalty. Of course this would require an amendment to the Constitution and some of our extant laws. |
OfoIgbo:The same Anambra state where Emeka Offor pretty much single-handedly installed Mbadinuju as Governor and Chris Uba installed Chris Ngige as Governor? Obiano was also the anointed candidate of Peter Obi who pulled him out of Fidelity Bank. Peter Obi is the only one who didn't have a godfather. The sad truth is that every state in Nigeria has its own godfathers. It's quite unfortunate but that's the way Nigerian politics is run. Even Obaseki who keeps saying that Edo is not Lagos would also seek to install his own candidate as Governor if he wins the election in September. He would refuse to hand over to Shuaibu because he would want someone he can control. That's the way of Nigerian politics and no state is an exception. |
Honestly this guy seems to be on drugs! As they would say in the film Demolition Man, what seems to buggle! |
I honestly saw this coming. Bloggers no go kill us for naija. |
Am I the only one who seems to think that Life Beer tastes like Goat piss? Nice one though, superb lighting. |

gasparpisciotta:Perhaps its because many black hackers are just foolish. Criminals shouldn't advertise their exorbitant lifestyles, it's plain stupidity. |
Honestly your post does not make much sense. On one hand the caption says Nigeria will overtake China and become the most populous nation in the world by 2100 and on the other hand you state in the body of the post that the study predicts that the population of Nigeria will be 791 million by 2100 making it number 2 in the world in that particular year. China's current population is about 1.4 billion while India's current population is about 1.3 billion. That means that by this mysterious study Nigeria's population will grow by over 500 million within this period while the respective populations of China and India will reduce by roughly 500 million. How's that even possible?!! While it is certainly possible for Nigeria's population to increase by 500 million by 2100, it's practically impossible for the respective populations of China and India to reduce by the same figure within the same period. |
Basically I've always had two teams, AC Milan and Chelsea. Started supporting AC Milan in 1988-1989 thereabouts after watching football Italia (Serie A was far and away the best league in the world then and AC Milan was the best team in Serie A). Started following Chelsea in 1996 when my favourite player, Ruud Gullit, left AC Milan to join Chelsea. Now I also follow Barcelona basically because of Lionel Messi. |
Franck Ribery is actually still playing football. He plays for Florentina and I believe he scored the only goal of the game against Lazio over the weekend Balenciagaokey: |
I honestly can't understand why Nigerians have not yet realised that this whole TSTV thing was a scam. They were just fantasising without bothering to come up with a proper business model. How can you promise to televise all premier league matches on a subscription of about N5,000. Did they intend to steal signals. Nigerians really need to understand a lot more about international businesses. The parent company of DSTV is a company called Naspers International which has access to tonnes of cash through its 31% shareholding in Chinese technology giant Tencent. At the moment it is very difficult to compete with DSTV at the premium content level. TSTV should have followed the Startimes model by entering the market at the level where they broadcast regular content which is cheaper and easier to obtain and then work their way up the content ladder to the level where they can charge market reflective subscription rates. Till date no one can state with certainty who the backers of TSTV are. Abeg make una shine una eyes well, well. |
Sanchez01:If I remember correctly Mohammed Yunus was killed by the Nigeria Police in 2009 during the administration of the late President Yarádua which was before the time of President Goodluck Jonathan. But I do agree that the bulk of the violence in the North is politically motivated. |
solmus:The President does not have the constitutional powers to appoint a substantive President of the Court of Appeal. He must first receive the recommendation of the National Judicial Council, appointment the person recommended by the NJC then send the name of the person appointed to the Senate for confirmation as the substantive President of the Court of Appeal. Must we be overtly sentimental about everything?! |
Pusyiter:She is acting because the NJC has not yet sent its recommendation to the President as is required by the Constitution. I'm sure when the NJC sends her name to the President for appointment as substantive President of the Court of Appeal, the President will send her name to the Senate for confirmation. |
Awol1:Are you for real?!! Goodness me you guys make me sick. If Jonathan paid the full counterpart fund then why was the project abandoned?! You guys should get a grip of yourselves abeg and stop annoying people. |
I would have said Black Mamba but I am not aware that the Black Mamba inhabits any region in Nigeria or West Africa. So I guess I would agree with the guy who says it's a cobra cos Vipers are obviously not that long. |
I'm really struggling to understand the comments. Is it that no one saw a guy called Saint Chiby's reply to Mr Kolawale's post or am I missing something? |
First of all, did an Arbitrator mediate over the proceedings at the mediation centre? Secondly, was there an Arbitral Award? If there was an Arbitral Award then get a lawyer to institute proceedings in court to enforce the Arbitral Award. If there is no Arbitral Award then get a lawyer to serve him the necessary notices (in this case a Seven Days' Notice of Owner's Intention to Recover Possession) and thereafter evict him from the premises through the Magistrate Court. Please do not under any circumstance try to evict him forcefully from the premises. The Lagos State Landlord and Tenant Law provides for damages to be awarded to the Tenant in a situation where the Landlord evicts him forcefully. It used to be N250,000 in the 2011 Law, I'm not sure how much it is now. |

In 1994 perhaps the worst genocide Africa has ever known was committed in Rwanda where over 800,000 people out of a population of just over 7,000,000 were killed. It was caused by hate speech. Between 1939 and 1945 over seventy million people were killed during world war 2, a war which is often described as the deadliest conflict in human history. It was caused by the hatred spewed by Hitler and his goons. Hate speech is not and can never be free speech. We really need to be very careful with out utterances as Nigeria and Africa in general can not survive another Nigerian civil war. |
I believe it was actually the Police who first stated that it was a retaliatory attack. They said they discerned that from their preliminary investigation. |
Chevrolet is a division of General Motors while Chrysler is a separate car company which now forms part of the Fiat-Chrysler conglomerate. |
Petition for what precisely? INEC has not even declared anyone winner of the election. What is this guy smoking?! |
I believe the obvious explanation would be that what appears to be a "rope" is not actually a rope but some kind of firm material, maybe a metal, which is capable of holding up the "stone". |
Eyaaa, na Atiku dem dey match for ground like that? |
Don't you think "University of Benin gets female Vice-Chancellor" is a better caption? The headline "Woman becomes VC of University of Benin" makes it sound as though it's an abominable thing. |
I am certain I saw a black version of the X7 in Abuja today with diplomatic number plates. |
timesup234:I kinda disagree. China first tested a nuclear weapon in 1964 and launched it's first satellite in 1970. They might not have been as wealthy 40 years ago as they are now but they were certainly ahead of us in terms of technological advancement. |
