PoliticsRe: Lagos Pays Salary Before 23rd Of The Month, The Only State In Nigeria That Does by oostin: 10:11am On Jun 03, 2016
Please get your facts right. There are a number of states including Cross River State and Anambra state that pay their workers before the end of the month.

PoliticsRe: Could This Be Why @Niger Delta Avengers Are Blowing Up Pipelines?(Pic by oostin: 10:44am On Jun 01, 2016
What on Earth is wrong with us?!
First of all the first picture is simply deceptive cos it's certainly not Lagos
Secondly over 90% of the spectacular buildings in Lagos were built by privately owned companies and not government.
Thirdly Lagos gets less money from the Federation Account than either Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Delta state the difference is that Lagos spends its money wisely.
Lastly wouldn't it have made a bit more sense if the originator of the article took a picture of Port Harcourt or Uyo to represent the Niger Delta. Why didn't he take a picture of Makoko to represent Lagos or Zuba to represent Abuja?

I hope those stoking ethnic hatred and secession would be able to stand the heat that would be the most probable consequence of their actions.

LiteratureRe: What's Your Favorite Novel Of All Time? by oostin: 8:13am On May 26, 2016
Drefan2:
My favourite Novel has to be Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth novels series.

If you have not read this book then you really are missing out on a glorious experience.

Since I came across this extraordinary book mid last year, I have been glued to my screen like a hungry leech.

Everything about this book is just magnificent. The characters, the Wizard's rules and how they are tightly, beautifully, if not perfectly, embedded in each book, how all the cascading events in the series are precisely woven together into one gigantic lop is mind-boggling.

Suspense that will make your mind race in a sudden rush. At times when I read up to a thrilling part, I can't just help but to drop my phone, stand up, close my eyes, grinning joyously and I flow with the moment into another world.

The Feeling is bliss.
If you love fantasy books you might also wish to read "The Wheel of Time" series by the late Robert Jordan. It's a lovely piece of work.

CelebritiesRe: Freeze Reacts David Cameron's Statement About Nigeria by oostin: 1:42pm On May 11, 2016
Since when did a man become responsible for the deeds of his father? If you ask me what we should be asking David Cameron and Britain as a whole to do is to make it extremely difficult for corrupt officials to stash their stolen wealth in Britain.

He should stop being hypocritical and just do the right thing. All this talk about his father is a bit petty if you ask me.

BusinessRe: Ten Banks Pay 143 Directors N7.6bn In 2015 by oostin: 9:17am On May 09, 2016
Seems people think the pay is not exorbitant when compared to what American and British Banks pay their Directors but I think that misses the point.

We are talking about executive pay as a percentage of profits. If JP Morgan Chase makes $18bn as profit and and pays its directors $180m it may seem exorbitant but that's 1% of its profit. Besides a good deal of what American banks pay their directors are stock options.

Bottom line, its's exorbitant particularly if you consider that the banks' profits fell by over 50% due to overexposure to oil sector debts.
PoliticsRe: The Niger Delta Situation And The Misguided Niger Delta Avengers Group by oostin: 7:03pm On May 08, 2016
Nice article but am I the only one who failed to notice that you neglected to mention that for the first time there is a sincere, honest and far reaching attempt to clean up the Niger-Delta starting from Ogoniland and this is being done by a President from one of the most Northern states in Nigeria. The sooner we understand that our so-called leaders in the Niger-Delta are the main source of our problems the better for us. Can you imagine Yoruba leaders condoning the kind of environmental degradation we see in the Niger-Delta??!!

Is this what you now celebrate as achievement? All through GEJ's tenure, salaries were paid on or before the 25th. In fact, in December 2014 when the salaries were delayed till after Christmas because of a problem with the payment software,, GEJ personally apologised to workers. This is just too low for you guys!
I usually don't curse and certainly not on social media but I'm constrained to say Shut The Bleep UP! If the previous govt was as cash strapped as the present govt people would receive their salaries 2 months late cos of financial recklessness. These are facts you are fully aware of but I guess you are too bigoted to admit the truth even if it slams you in the face
