senior man God go bless you for me , the wisdom where you drop for us here na clean one , i appreciate.
Abeg i want to know like how much money should
one budget for everything. I mean from 3 month visa, flight, bed space, feeding for the main time even to buying average job like waiter, clean, sales agent etc.
Your reply will be highly considered. God bless you , one love brotherly.

You have asked so many questions but based on the rules of Nairaland, I may not be able to answer them in other for me not to be banned. It is against the rules and I always like to obey rules.

Accept my apology.

Thanks for your prayers. I am only doing this for my Nigerian people so that you will not fall victim of bad agents who are only interested in your money and not your comfort. Some Nigerians are suffering here because of LACK OF APPROPRIATE INFORMATION before coming. But if you have the right information, you will enjoy UAE to the fullest.

Indians, Pakistans, Lebanese, Philippinoes, etc are here helping themselves and enjoying the country. Why should Nigerians be suffering? So many reasons. But I am here to give you the right information that I know to assist you.

Here at your humble service.

@Opechrist

I read it online that the 3 of the each copies made
MOE will take one out of it
NECO 3 copy
HND 3 copy

MOFA will take out of it too
NECO 2 copy
HND 2 copy
Authorisation letter 1 copy

Therefore, it will be left with one copy for embassy
, so what I will pay for is money for 1 copy of each remaining copy
1 copy of Neco 19k
1 copy of HND 19k
1 copy of medical 19k
1 copy of authorisation letter 19k

I hope am right

Secondly, can I do MOE, MOFA, medical test and Embassy authentication without admission letter?
Or admission is composry ?

First question: You are correct.

Second question: Not necessary, you don't need admission letter.

Thanks so much brother

Although the MBA course accepted my NECO with my 6years work experience and TOEFL
So I don't really need my ND and HND for admission because it a professional master

Must I go with my admission letter?
Or not necessary

My dear friend, I have been explicit enough and I don't think you should be asking this question again. It is a must to authenticate your certificate if you will use it outside the shores of Nigeria except after spending Millions of money you still want to do menial jobs. If you have the intention of study and work in UAE, you better take the pain to do it, or else your ND and HND will be useless until you do it.

You are looking at admission requirements but not looking at the relevance of your certificate if you need to work. So many Nigerian graduates who came to UAE without authentication of their certificates are lamenting when they are being turned down after passing interview because their certificates are not authenticated. So painful!

This is the reason I have been taking my time on this forum to educate the in-coming Nigerians, so that they will not fall into the same avoidable problem. However, I need to also add that there are some menial jobs that the HRs don't even bother about your certificates.

My dear, do it but if you think it is not necessary, LEAVE IT. It is your choice!

Good luck.

I know, you have been very helpful brother

Please I have my NECO original certificate
My HND Testimonial and statement of results

Will the HND will be authenticated because I can travel to my school now looking at the cost

The process is simple. Your certificates authentication must follow laid down rules.

In your situation you must authenticate NECO, ND and HND original certificates. Forget about Testimonials and Statement of Result, they are USELESS for admission or travel process. You will also go with a valid means of identification such as Passport, Driver Licence or Voter's Card. If you don't have any of it, go and get it before you travel to Abuja.

You can't bend the rules except you want to waste your time and money. They will not attend to you.

Can neco result stand in place of waec?
Will statement of result be accepted for my BSc certificate?

NECO certificate is equivalent to WAEC and it is acceptable.

No statement of result is allowed. It must be original certificates.

Thank you. I don’t have either of those cards. Only have NiN slip. I misplaced my old international passport which I have the front page of it. That more of the reason why I don’t have my new passport ready. Can I go along with the printed page of the old passport and my NiN slip ? Also I don’t have destination yet for my MSc. I’m just free and not occupied at the moment to run those ministry of education and ministry of ministry thing because by the time I will have to choose destination I might not chances to travel down to Abuja and if I do it will be just a day thing and travel back.

Wait till you have gotten your MSC destination, and passport is ready.

You can't do it in a day. Never possible.

If you go without the requirements I stated above you will be disappointed as they will send you back to your destination. This will amount to waste of time and money. I am talking from experience.

Hello Ope,

Visiting Dubai soon on holiday. Solo traveller at that. What are some of the things you can recommend ?.

I'm also interested in buying cheaper gadgets, clothes . Where is the spot for those ?..

Thanks.

You don't have problem. Once you have gotten your Visa, get Du Sim at airport, then buy bus card of 25 to 50 Dirhams (depending on the places you want to visit) at any metro station, get accommodation ready (arrangements can be made for room if you don't have enough money for hotel reservation) etc

You will buy gadgets, clothes, and be tired at Deira, Dubai. Things are relatively cheap in Deira.

So many places to tour. You will look, snap pictures, enjoy yourself and be tired so far you are loaded with cash.

@Ope4Christ,
Thank you for all the words of encouragement and help.

I planned to Authenticate my (Olevel, ND and HND.)
NECO scratch card N120
You said 3 copies, so you mean
Olevel N300 X 3 copies
ND N300 X 3 copies
HND N300 X 3 copies

Is the same document which i authenticate at MOE am I taking to MOFA
Olevel N300 X 3 copies
ND N300 X 3 copies
HND N300 X 3 copies

UAE embassy, one day(19k per document, you will do authenticate Is this also same 3 certificate or just one? (Olevel, ND, HND) + authorization letter + medical results
Olevel 19k
ND 19k
HND 19k
Authorisation letter 19k
Medical results 19k

Is this ok

Yes, exactly but the NECO scratch card is N1200 not 120.

At MOE, you will pay N500 for application of authorization letter, then N500 on the day of collection making N1000.

At MOFA you will add letter of authorisation.

At UAE embassy, you are free to remove O'level if you want.

You re right @Ope4Christ
I saw it the school website
Have seen the requirements
So I need to go to Abuja for visa
The medical test is very important
Passport and 4 copies
12 photograph
Admission letter just
Banks statements
Accommodation
Copy of tuition fees receipt
School certificate

Please @Ope4Christ , I laminated my all my documents, so will be problem when I want to authenticate it?

No problem with lamination, they know how to do it.

Authentication of certificates and Visa stamping will take you four to five days in all. Go with SSCE and BSc with three sets of photocopies.

1. You will start with MOE, N1200 for WAEC card, N1000 for application for authorization letter and N300 per page of all documents. Get there before 9am. They close by 12pm and will not attend to anyone again. They only do authentication between Monday and Thursday, don't go there on Friday. It will take you 2 to 3 days.

2. MOFA, one day. N300 per page of all documents and photocopies. Get there before 9am and your certificate will be ready between 3 to 4pm.

3. UAE embassy, one day(19k per document, you will do authentication for BSc certificate, authorization letter and medical results).

Day Schedule:
1.Monday, go to MOE and wait to collect all your certificates and apply for authorization letter the same day.

2. Tuesday, go to UAE embassy for visa process, you will be given a note to the hospital for medicals at Turkish Hospital, it will cost you N72,500. If possible do all the test, you might get your results on the same day or next day. Please go with your passport and white background passport photograph.

3. Wednesday, get your letter from MOE and go to MOFA with all your documents. Their locations are close. You will get your documents the same day if you can get there by 10am.

4. Thursday, go to Embassy with your documents and medical results. You will do biometrics (about N28k) and mini interview. Very easy. They accept Master Card (ATM) from UBA or First Bank only to pay for your biometrics.

5. Your Study Visa will be ready the following day.

6. Wish you good luck.

Before you start the process please ensure that you don't have any of the following sicknesses: Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B. They will never allow anyone with such sickness in their country.

Which school in UAE?

Only Tourist Visa for one to three months can be processed online. Any long time Visa such as Work Permit, Study Visa, Spouse Visa etc will have pre-approval here in Emirates and final approval and Visa stamping will now be processed in Abuja. This is because they will get your biometrics and medical results in their embassy in Abuja before long time Visa can be issued. The results must be documented so that anyone does not bring in sickness like Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B into the country. Even those who came on Tourist Visa who are trying to change to Work Permit will go through medicals in UAE. If any of the above sicknesses is detected, you will only open your eyes to see that you are already deported.

Long time Visa are now going through thorough checks unlike before when it is easy.

Policies are changing every day.

You can get SIM card in town and should get in town. Go to du or etisalat shops.

Those that came in yesterday without getting Sim at airport have gone to Etisalat and Du shops since yesterday in Shajar and Dubai only for them to be disappointed. They had to go to Dubai airport to get it. Emirates policies keep changing by the day. Get informed. I stand to be corrected if you don't have Emirates ID you can't get Sim in town. But if you still stand by your belief no problem. Only those with Emirates ID can buy and sell or give to someone on Tourist Visa.

Wish you best of luck.

Where can I apply for the Dubai study visa ?

Please guru , help me with this information

Go to the website of your intended Schools and get information on how to gain admission. Once you can get admission letter and have paid your school fees, Visa process is very easy. You will go to Abuja to process your study Visa as soon as your admission letter is ready.

Hope you can afford the school fees? An average Diploma program cost between 26k to 40k AED for one year. Except you have won scholarship.

It is part of UAE vision for 2020, you will be able to study and work on part-time basis as it is obtainable in Europe and US.

Good luck.

No need buying sim card at the airport , buy it in the town is only 10 Dirhams
Also don't change dollars at the airport maybe few for transportation to ur destination, change at the banks in town u will get good offer

Point Of correction. I am giving you authentic information that happened this week.

You can't get Sim card in town with Tourists Visa. You can only get it at the airport. Sim card is FREE but you buy credit.

I agree with the Dollar exchange. At airport, it is $1 to 3.6AED but in bank it is $1 to 3.65AED.

Only Resident Permit Holder can buy Sim card in town.

Nice tips, please which one is better to enter UAE with to search for jobs? 90 days tourist visa or 2 years residency.

I mean for those who can afford the residency visa, is better for them to go for it and does the residency come with full working rights.

Thanks as I await your response.

Obviously, Resident Permit for those who can afford it. With Resident Permit, you have freedom of choice for jobs, health insurance, can travel in and out of UAE easily, can get Visa to developed economies after about six months which is easier compare with rigorous process from Nigeria. Visa upon arrival to Georgia and Azerbaijan. You can google it for more details.

Good morning guru
Please I need help from your experience
The travel list to Dubai
Food
Wears etc
That will save cost over there

Secondly, is it advisable to go with cash in USD or master card to avoid someone stealing your cash in the room

1. Bed space is 50k per month, but be prepared for two months or till you get job. You are going to be sharing room with others. Forget about comfort but think about survival.
2. Garri, Beans, dry fish, grounded pepper(ata gungun), Maggie or spices etc. Don't bring rice it is cheaper here than Nigeria. Liquid items would not be allowed in any airplane, so would be rejected at the airport.
3. Five shirts and three trousers with few underwear. Come with blanket or you buy here. Clothes are affordable here.
4. Come with USD, Naira is terribly useless here, nobody will be willing to change it for you. You can also come with Master Card but go to your bank in Nigeria to activate online and foregn transaction.
5. Authenticate your certificates at Abuja before coming should there be good offers that require them but some offers with small salaries don't.
6. Get Etisalat or Du Sim and register it at the airport. It is free but you must buy credit for between 35 to 50 Dirhams.
7. Come with enough USD that will take care of you and buy job. We buy jobs here but if you can search for jobs on your own, you might be lucky.
8. Be prepared for change of environment.
9. Best wishes.

Lens101:
Good morning, I’m not the always travelling kind of person(Lagos to Abuja aren’t child play for me). please I intend to travel to Ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of education before next week runs out. My questions are
1. Can I go with my Nin slip since I don’t have my international passport ready yet?
2. Is there a specific background for my passport photograph?
3. I intend to take along with me all document that might need moe and mof authentification including those I might need and those I might not really need to save time and unnecessary travelling to Abuja again for same purpose.Document such as my weac certificate(I might not need in any application), bachelor degree certificate, transcript (student copy). I’m applying for eligibility letter too (this I might not need). Which other document do you think I should take Along too just Incase? If police certificate doesn’t expire I might apply for it and then take it along to moe and mof to authenticate. While helping out with document I might not really need for now and those that you think are important please bear in mind I’m not married. This will help to put some checks on some documents you might want to make suggestion about. I hope to read from you all. Thank you as you make contributions on this matter.

It depends on what purpose and country you are doing authentication for. But you need the following documents to be authenticated:

1. SSCE original, it is compulsory(plus N1200 WAEC card for verification).
2. BSc, MSc, PhD, ND, HND certificate.(any one that is applicable to you).
3. Eligibility letter, you will apply for it (N1000).

But if for the purpose of study, you will add:

4. Original transcript of records.
5. Three sets of photocopies of each document are required. If you are going to study abroad you will do additional sets of photocopies for admission because two from the three sets stated above are are going to be retained in the two ministries (MOE and MFA).

It is one step after the other. You will start with MOE (it takes 2 to 3 days depending on population) while MOF takes one day but you must be there by 9am. They close by 1pm and will not allow you in again. They don't do authentication on Fridays o.

Authentication cost N300 per page multiplied by the total number of pages you want to do. Plus some extra charges for application form (N450), remitars - for individual payments at the two ministries etc.

You can add Voters Card or Drivers Licence to your NIMC print out for identification. But if you don't have any of them you better wait for your passport to be out because they will send you back to your destination.

Best wishes.

All your certificates must be authenticated in the following institutions in Abuja:

1. Ministry of Education( SSCE, BSC and MSc plus 3 sets of photocopies of each document at N300 per page, N1200 for WAEC scratch card, N500 for form and N1000 for authorization letter)

2. Ministry of Foreign Affairs(N300 per page of document plus 2 sets of photocopies)

You don't need any contact, even if you get it they might not answer you.

Search for Nigerian Embassy address in Abu Dhabi, go there with old passport, fill the online form and do your biometrics. You will also do NIMC registration.

It can't be ready in a week but between 1 to 2 months.

From the post and comment I have read for some pages so far. It is like most people going to UAE are unskilled or not certified hence the struggle to get job or maybe they are misinformed. However I haven't seen any comments concerning skilled jobs for artisans like painters, plumbers, tilers etc... Like we're made to believe back home that UAE are meant for skilled, professional and business purposes. My question is how about these artisans jobs are they really in demands.
What are their chances of getting a good Jobs over there.
I have two of my cousins who are painters and would like to relocate UAE with their skill in painting. I also have a friend who is into travelling agency whom I spoke to about it and he offer to assist them with Direct employment he said their skill is in demands in UAE and Cyprus. But after much discussion with him he decided we should settle for UAE because I told him I can't afford the two guys at a time.
Note he's not demanding any money from me because he's more than a friend this is a way of assistance. He just told me to get their I P get back to him that he will get them employment Visa for them that UAE company will take care of their flight, work permit and Visa so when they get there they can raise money from there and move to other European countries. So please those with experience what do you think about this. I hope to hear from the experience ones. Thank you

Employment or Work Permit can only be sponsored by a registered company which must have given them employment. It is pretty expensive. But which company will spend so much on a Nigerian and with a salary that is less than 2kAED per month? There are thousands of Nigerians in UAE already who stand a better chance of getting the jobs of an artisan than someone who is still in Nigeria. Except if a genuine agent wants to collect money from you to do the Work Permit in Abuja. He will start the process in UAE and the artisan will go to Abuja to complete the Visa process. In Abuja alone each of them will spend close to 150k for attestation of certificates, medicals, biometric and Visa stamping.

If the person has promised you that he won't collect money from you then go ahead and do it. But I doubt it. Except he wants to do Tourist Visa for two or three months, then bring them in to start looking for job. If they are lucky to get one the employer will collect all their documents and do Residence Permit for them and they will sign a bond to remain with the employer until the Resident Permit expires because most of the employers won't let them go. But most Nigerians have abused this process which makes it difficult for employers to trust Nigerians. They will rather prefer Indians, Filipinos, Malaysians than Nigerians.

Be careful.

Good luck.

You can leave with your annual leave for about 2 to 4 weeks depending on your organisation. You can plan for your wedding, come and do it within two weeks then you fly back to Dubai to start the 2 years Resident Permit for your wife. It will come out within 2 to 3 weeks then you can bring your wife to enjoy your honeymoon.

Good luck.

Gundi:

Thank you for the response sir.

Yes, I was planning on coming with direct employment, that's why I've been trying to get a job from Nigeria here, but it seems I might just have to take your advice and come with a 3months visa first and then scout for jobs, because I actually got an invite for an interview yesterday, but they said I should come in person, and I'm not in Dubai yet.

This may sound silly though, but why I asked the question of traveling after starting work was because, I planned to work for at least a year first, come back to Nigeria for a month to do my wedding, and then possibly come back with my wife.

But with the look of things, I might not be able to leave till after 2years, so I guess it's a sacrifice I'd have to pay.

Thank you for your response though, I appreciate.
