Sorry to say, some here are outright ridiculous. The information Ope gave is not untrue. Many people have tried to renew their visas to no avail. I still spoke with two reliable visa persons today and they confirmed no visa renewals for Nigerians. Of course there can not be official statements to back these up due to diplomacy but hanging Mr Ope for trying to inform people on the latest happenings is not okay.
Good to hear one person got his employment visa. It's a good sign but it doesn't erase the fact that many travel agencies have been unable to renew Nigerian visas. They charge Nigerian visas highest so I'm sure they are not joking too.

Thanks for coming out to say the truth.

I have moved on from yesterday's happenings. I remain committed to helping my fellow Nigerians who are WILLING TO LISTEN. The pieces of information I do post are NOT for everybody but for anyone who might be in need of it.

@Topshow4real, he said he renewed his Work/Resident Permit yesterday but FAILED to inform us WHEN he/ his company started the process. Obviously, the process could have started TWO to THREE WEEKS before final approval which he said yesterday. He would never have issue since he must have lived in UAE for two years and has already been on RESIDENT PERMIT only trying to RENEW, except if he has committed any crime.

The information I posted was for FRESH APPLICANTS who were trying to do Work/Resident Permit and Visa Change since last week.

We still went to AMER Centre this morning, they gave us the same story as that of yesterday.

I remain committed to the JUST COURSE of helping my countrymen and women who are WILLING TO LISTEN.

Peace.

RE: TEMPORARY VISA SUSPENSION; FURTHER EXPLANATION

I retracted the information I gave here yesterday because of the phrase TEMPORARY SUSPENSION of Work Permit/Resident Permit and Visa Change to Nigerians, because UAE government Embassy in Abuja refuted it.

I need to update you that all Tourist Visa holders regardless of nationality are mandated to exit UAE by 10th of August, 2020 or else you pay fine starting from 11th of August, 2020. So there is need to:

1. get employed by a company that will do your Work and Resident Permit for you.

2. do a Visa Change(for 1 or 3 months)) or

3. do your Resident Permit by yourself.

Since the December 31st 2020 grace granted to all Tourist Visa holders was moved back to August 10th, 2020 by the government in July 2020; the panic mode started. The easiest of the three options I said earlier which is 'get employed by a company that will do Work /Residents Permit for you' became an issue as SOME employers were not willing to employ Nigerians. Then the second and third options became apparent.

For about a week now the two options have not been successful for those that wanted to do them as the application kept bouncing back. When we made enquiry from AMER Centre which is the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Deira, Dubai, we were told Visa for Nigerians ON HOLD which made me to use the phrase TEMPORARY SUSPENSION.

I did not fabricate any information. I only gave information based on what we witnessed in the last one week, here in Dubai. But since UAE Embassy in Nigeria said NOT ON SUSPENSION, let us go with the official information from the Embassy. I am not government agency, I only do investigation to help my Nigerian people with daily happenings here in Dubai.

Thanks for your understanding.

Peace.

Go and try Canada study visa and come back here and say this again

I did not specify Canadian study visa. I mentioned IMMIGRATION PROGRAMS and STUDY VISA to MANY COUNTRIES. Pick your choice, do research on it and follow your dream.

There is no visa process to any DEVELOPED ECONOMY that is EASY but you need to be determined and meet the requirements to get it. The major problem with Nigerians is that we are impatient, like short cuts, forge documents, don't do enough research on immigration programs etc hence, we run into problems.

There are various immigration programs you can use to enter Canada other than STUDY VISA that you mentioned but it takes determination, time, patience, resources and money. Nigeria is in 5TH POSITION of the highest number of immigrants in Canada according to latest data .
Impossibility is nothing if you have God and determination to succeed. In process of time you will achieve your dream.

They keep doing Nonsense anywhere they find themselves, as if they are the only one that needed this money.

Funny you, those countries you mentioned, you think they are smiling too?

If you meet immigration or study programs' requirements, you are fine. Just do your research and meet all their requirements, they will give you visa. Don't use forged documents because they will investigate all your papers and ensure thorough process before issuance of visa. They need immigrants to grow their economies.

Take care.

Is the issue that serious?
I want to relocate to UAE by December......

If it is not serious UAE government won't stop issuance of visas to Nigerians in the meantime. Nigerian criminal activities keep increasing, so many cases, many in prison, yet our people won't obey the law. This does not mean that we don't have other nationalities committing crimes but that of Nigerians is alarming everyday.

They will eventually issue visas to Nigerians in coming weeks but with STRICT measures.

More to come...

Updates about Issuance of Visas to Nigerians.

The UAE Government is no longer joking about Issuance of Visas to Nigerians, as all forms of Visas; Tourist, Work Permit, Visa Change and Residents Permit are temporarily suspended. This could be as a result of so many crimes committed by Nigerians here ranging from prostitution, fighting, fraud, alcohol drinking, abortion, cultism, murder among others. The cases keep increasing by the day and yet few bad elements would not change their ways. We initially thought that non-issuance of tourist visas was only due to closure of Nigeria's international airspace but daily updates keep showing more than we thought. Issuance of work permit, resident permit and visa change when you are inside UAE were very easy before but the story is different now to NIGERIAN passport holders; while other countries are getting theirs done easily. For UAE government to re-open visas to Nigerians, stricter measures which might be unbearable would be metted out to her passport holders.

I must confess that few bad Nigerians have put the rest in crises. This makes the Western world to see Nigerians as criminals even before committing any. How painful and terrible!

If you are still in Nigeria and have the intention of traveling abroad, please try Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, UK and other European countries which are coming up with immigration or study programs. It would take time, patience, resources, money and right information but far better than coming to UAE.

I wish you all the best.

Hello. Please what will happen to me and my visa when the international airspace is opened, as I was just issued a 3 months tourist visa about a week before the total lockdown.
Will I have to apply afresh or travel with the pending visa.

Your unused visa has been cancelled. You need to apply for fresh one if you still want to come but the situation of things in UAE for Nigerians are terrible for now. Only very few with job are lucky. No job, no visa change; how do you want to survive? Don't let your agent deceive you into coming to UAE for now. Thousands of Nigerians are already in limbo on what to do. Some are already back in Nigeria while others are most likely going to run into OVERSTAYED VISA with extremely high fines calculated on daily basis.

It is better for you to chanel your resources to Europe or Canada. It takes time, energy, patience and money but with right information you can achieve it.

My one piece of advice.

Allen junction deserves more than this. It is important to state clearly that this junction that leads to the seat of power in Lagos, and a connection point to and fro of Maryland, Ibadan Expressway, Ojota, Ojoju Berger, Third Mainland bridge, Agege etc deserves a BRIDGE and not a cosmetic painting and minor construction. We should remember that Ex-govenor, Fashola did a similar project at this same junction but it only took bearly five years before we started witnessing traffic. Lagos State Government should come up with a BRIDGE that will provide lasting solution at this junction and not what we are witnessing that cannot solve traffic problem beyond five years.

Travel / Re: Abroad People How Often Do You Eat Nigeria Foods by Ope4Christ: 5:23am On Jul 03, 2020
Getting Nigerian foods in UAE is not a difficult thing inasmuch as you have money to buy them in African stores accross the country. Since I cook most of the times I prefer buying groceries that are common and are affordable not necessarily going to African stores because of the price. grin grin grin. These are the Nigerian foods you can easily get everywhere without going to African stores:

1. Rice ( you can prepare it in various forms that you want jollof, fried, coconut, white and stew etc ).

2. Beans (the most common one is the white one also different from the one we have in Nigeria).

3. Wheat and Semovita (Asians also eat wheat in another form different from ours, so it is common).

4. Vegetables in various species that I don't even know ( Okro, I saw 'ewedu' once).

Then you are free to go to African stores to get other Nigerian foods of your choice inasmuch as you have the money ranging from yam, yam flour(poundo yam), garri, egusi, palm oil, dried cat fish(and other types), mellon, ogbono etc.

You won't miss Nigeria when it comes to food in UAE.

What? You have a right to apply for jobs with a tourist visa, or even without any visa. You can apply for jobs even from Nigeria. But you are not supposed to WORK with a tourist visa. Though that's doesn't work, many people work for months or years even on tourist visa.

Get it right. You are permitted to apply to work only when the company agrees to convert your tourist visa to employment. It is not a right but privileged.

The case painted here is when you are scammed by an employment agency/agent. Should the agency/agent dupe you, forget about involving the police because as at this time you don't have legal ground to work, so you loose. This is why so many Nigerian agents dupe people easily since they know you will loose when Police is involved.

What you said is only applicable when a company agrees to employ you and convert your tourist visa to employment.

Guys... Pls I have a very important question that has been bothering me for months...
How do married Nigerians earning less that 2000dhs cope as a couple in uae

2.lets assume I bring my wife in now, after a while she gets pregnant, is it advisable to let her deliver here considering the cost implications?

3.pls guys I need ur answers and if u in uae n u have ur woman here... Hw do u cope and let's say u have a baby too...
Keep in mind only the man has a job for now

ANSWER
1. It is a pleasurable and good thing to come with your family to UAE but the COST IMPLICATION is a major issue. Pretty difficult except you earn above 4,000Dirhams monthly due to family expenses.

2. If your wife becomes pregnant in UAE the best bet is for you to SEND HER BACK TO NIGERIA IMMEDIATELY because cost of antenatal(hospital appointments, several tests, x-ray, medications etc), delivery of the baby at hospital, medical test for the baby, registration of the birth of the baby with government authority, Nigerian passport for the baby etc could run into 20,000 to 30,000Dirhams in total. I have a woman with her husband facing this challenge as I type. The woman is around eight months pregnant but unable to come home due to lockdown, praying that Nigeria should open the airport for her to come home immediately. The money they have spent has already crossed 10,000Dirhams, and they keep spending by the day. Once your wife becomes pregnant, no company will like to employ her.

Take note: your baby would never become a citizen until after 30years and it is still subject to the discretion and requirements of the immigration authority.

3. If you have a baby, your combined income should be above 8,000Dirhams monthly. The cost of education and child care here is not a joke. Average school fees ranges from 20,000Dirhams to 30,000Dirhams per annum (depending on type of school) minus other expenses.

It is totally different from Europe and America where Government give child support and free education but here, YOU PAY FOR EVERYTHING.

Most foreigners don't come with their children except you earn GREAT INCOME.

MY ADVICE
You can have a plan for you and your wife to do export business. Buy goods here and cargo to Nigeria while you stay and your wife comes twice or three times in a year. But both of you must have Residence Permit and Emirates ID to ease the process and reduce cost.

My brother, LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP.

This is confusing Pls.. Are you saying the previous passports are not E-Passports?

There is nothing confusing in my write-up. The E-passport started in 2007 with electronic registration only, but the Government fully launched the enhanced one in January 2019 with modernized security features both for the 10-years and 5-years ones. The pictures I posted show the clear difference.

Normal passport has its inside as PINKISH colour(old one, second picture I posted).

E-passport has its inside as BLUEISH colour(new one, first picture I posted).

If the inside of your passport is not BLUEISH in colour, it is not the new E-passport.

However, if you think the normal passport you have is the one now required by German embassy, I wish you good luck.

Please guys I saw E-passport on the requirement for Germany visa interview, is it a new type of passport? Mine was issued in year 2018

It is the new Standardized Electronic Passport issued by Nigerian Immigration launched in 2007. But the normal passport and E-passport continued to be issued simultaneously until 2019 when General Muhammadu Buhari fully launched the 10-years and 5-years E-passports. Most Nigerians possess the normal passport and not the E-passports.

The newly launched E-passport is now being required by German embassy from applicants going to Germany this Winter (August to October).

The first picture shows the E-passports while second picture shows the normal passport.

thanks bro for prompt and honest response but problem is I don't have the cash involved to attempt traveling to Either Europe, America, Canada, Australia even though they are my dream country of travel but financial bottleneck had prevented my leaving this country since 1994...I had attempted America twice refused on both times I don't have a travel history on my passport it has really deprived my being issued visa on the two occasions. The reason I decided to build my passport by starting with Dubai...from there after getting thier resident permit I can further apply to Europe or Canada from Dubai.. please I need more advice house please am just a consultant with Lagos State Govt but job is not like before especially the covid19 pandemic had really scatter the system.Am really fed up now I wish I could see helper here on Nairaland that can support me.....Save my soul and help me out.....more progressive advice are welcome.

I seldomly advise people not to come to UAE but seeing your passionate desire to leave Nigeria will make me to give you this one.

UAE is a no-go area for Nigerians who are coming to hustle for now because of so many crimes ranging from harlotry, internet scam(yahoo-yahoo), selling of alcoholic drinks, fraud, cultism, fighting among others being committed on daily basis. During this Covid-19 period alone, so many Africans especially Nigerians were arrested, tried and some are already in prison as I type, while others would be deported as soon as possible. There is a RED FLAG on Nigerians for now.

So many companies would not employ you once you are an African, especially Nigerians. But if you are coming for tourism alone to have travel history without stay, you are fine.

Increase your hustle in Nigeria and plan for one or two years then you can try countries among European Union.

Try to look at my write-ups from February till date on this forum, they might be helpful to you.

Best wishes.

No.

Fully funded scholarship has already taken care of all financial requirements. Just be prayerful, get necessary documents and do the medical test. Then you are good to go. Get further information from the embassy's website.

You are talking about something completely different, your previous statement about the maintenance money is false, that was what i highlighted and wrote: That is not true.

What you wrote here simply means that you could not afford to study in the UK and you changed your mind for Germany because its free tuition fees.

You kept going back and forth with your arguments. You highlighted a portion of my write-up where I wrote WHEN YOU HAVE THE MONEY. You tagged it "classic case of misinformation at its best". But now, you agreed with the monetary conditions before UK Tier4 Visa can be granted. Why?

If you don't have enough money that can take care of your tuition fees (£9,250 - £38,000 annually: depending on your course of study) and upkeep (£1,000 monthly) for a minimun of one year; don't think of UK. But if you have the money, your Visa would be approved easily. This is why it is difficult to get their Visa without money.

How many average Nigerian students can afford tuition fees in UK compared with Germany which is lesser?

1. This is the classic case of misinformation at its best.

2. If the U.K increased it to 2yrs how many years will you be given in Germany?

3. Did I hear you say that tier4 visa processing is rigorous ? Then German one will be a trip to hell and back.

ANSWER

1. How?

2. Germany gives 18 months post-study work permit.

3. Until last three years when Germany student visa became a little bit strenuous, the requirements are far easier to meet than UK Tier4 Visa. The major requirements are: admission letter, blocked account or sponsorship letter, insurance etc. There was a person who got student visa to Germany without blocked account nor sponsorship letter but promised to do it later. This won't happen in UK embassy. The interview process at German embassy is relatively better compared with UK. The current increase in the number of students going to Germany has made the process of getting appointment date in Nigeria harder; since USA, Canada, UK and Australia have tougher visa processes than Germany.

UK Tier4 Visa is only going to be a little bit easier because of students who are looking to other countries with free education compared with UK. Theresa May's policy of LEAVE AFTER STUDY has badly affected students who had the intention of stay back. But Boris Johnson corrected it immediately he assumed office since they were loosing money gained from tuition fees and the impact of BREXIT.

UK is "money for hand back for ground". While Germany majorly required the block account after other normal requirements.

This is totally unacceptable statement from the CP. If you are quite aware that Hushpuppi and co committed crimes in Nigeria, why didn't you extradite him before now. The US government trailed him for about six months and got him, only for Nigeria Police calling for his extradition. Why? So that few corrupt Nigerian officials can become richer from the stolen money? Let him remain in USA to face his charges.

FBI would never release him to Nigerian government.

I hope this school we apply to can be like the schools in UK.
I applied to 2 schools already and have been getting update about UK VISA since the day they gave me conditional admission letter.

Infact the 2 schools still message me today giving me assurance that they will secure the VISA for me that they are working with the VISA body to ensure that international student get VISA.

UK already lost several thousands of students' applications due to BREXIT, Government policy of LEAVE AFTER STUDY(although they have increased it to two years stay after study) and rigorous Visa process, hence, it is relatively easier to gain admission if you meet their requirements and have the money. Attention has shifted to other countries with free education and easier visa process like Germany, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Portugal etc. This is why Germany is having the highest number of applications in Europe in the last 2 to 3 years. You should expect tougher admission and visa processes compared with the previous years.

However, you can still get to Germany if you follow the instructions and experiences of others on this platform.

My advise is if ure going to any new country u must have a PLAN, everyone's opinion is different so stop looking for validation of opinions from people all the time because everyone's story is different.

Correction!

Cancelled Visas are not valid. The ones that are valid till December 2020 are for those in UAE and expired from March 1st 2020 during the lockdown. All Tourist Visas NOT used before the lockdown were cancelled. UAE Government have never said anything about the un-used tourist visa. Let's wait for their directives. Hopefully, something positive should come out for those with un-used visas.
