You don't need transit visa. Once you get to Cairo your passport will be taken from you, then Egypt Air will take to your hotel. When it is time to transit to another airplane, your documents would be returned to you and you continue your flight.

The transcript I have (from uniport) is the student's copy that has a watermark on all pages " not for official use". I went to my school to ask them to send my transcript to a company (so I can get the official copy) but they said they dont send transcripts to companies, they only send official transcripts to schools and scholarship boards.

I tried convincing them otherwise but they refused.


Do uni-assist or universities accept student's copy transcript that has been certified

If you are doubting the student copy you have with you, then apply for new one to be sent to uni-assist.

Be a PR holder in Europe first, then you can apply for Visitor's Visa to USA, you will be given 10years multiple entry visa to USA.

To get USA PR(Green Card) is a different ball game entirely. For your first question, you can never get USA PR that way. No, never because the process is totally different.

UK B1 Visa is not PR, okay? Until you get UK's PR you cannot be given 10 years Visitor's Visa to USA. If you're on UK B1 Visa with Nigerian Passport you can only get 2years Visitor's Visa to USA.

You don't need any link to verify it. IT IS AN UNDISPUTABLE FACT. Even when you have PR of European countries and you are still holding Nigerian Passport, you will get 10years Visa to USA. Nigerians who have PR in South Africa are also enjoying it. Guess what? Your Visa will be out in less than 2 weeks.

I am also seeking PhD (Economics) scholarship opportunity in Germany. But in the meantime, you have to write IELTS or TOEFL to brighten your chances. I don't know if GRE would be needed for your intended program.

Get the following documents ready.
1. Certificates B.Sc and M.Sc
2 Transcripts for both B.Sc and M.Sc.
3. Reference letters from two or three senior lecturers in your university.
4. Motivation Letter.
5. TOEFL/IELTS results before January.
6. Nigerian Passport.
7. Birth certificate or Affidavit for declaration of age.
8. Research proposal in your area of specialization.
9. Your published research work (if any).
10. Look at university websites for any other documents.

All the above documents must be ready latest by early January for programs starting in Winter(September to October 2020). Admission process will start between January and April 2020. Since you are looking for scholarship, you have to be an early bird. German scholarships are being hunted for by students across the globe.

Check daad.de regularly. Also try to use google to search for scholarships in your program regularly. Don't be specific about any university for now but spread your opportunities to as many universities as possible, especially those with direct online applications.

But the best program for you will be ANATOMY and not NEUROSCIENCE.

Egypt Air allow One-Way ticket, going by the experience of a friend on Nairaland. You need to ask them at their office before you book your flight. Their fare is relatively cheaper. Enjoy your flight.

Also I wrote my GRE today.. Twas not as I expected. As a first time taker, I thought it was just some baby exam. I start prep August, so my prep was just approximately 2 months.

The bad luck started following me from 6am today when I woke up, I stood straight to stress, not knowing the fan was not really far up, I ended up cutting my right hand finger nails into two, blood everywhere. This happened because it's not my house, I didn't know the fan was low. I went to a near by chemist to treat my self. This weakened my confidence as I could nearly hold a pen. (don't stretch if u aren't familiar with the room on the day of ur test ..)
Anyways I got to the centre in abuja 8:40am, the whole check in process was carried out and we started.
I have long Bern praying for 3 quants but after the incident I pray for 3 verbal( which I wasn't good at).
I wrote the test with the pain. Typing wasn't easy. But I know I did well in the AWA, my topics were sweet, straight forward, already worked on similar topics from the ETS pool of essays. I should write about 700 words for each, could have written more if I could be faster.

The first verbal was difficult, then I hard I tough quants, then break, another equally tough verbal, now I knew the first should be the experimental as I didn't really do well. The next quants was lot tougher than most practice test I have taken. What surprise me was that my last verbal was equally tough as the previous ones, I assumed I did well in the previous verbal, probably that's
Why I got another difficult one. Little did I know that I was joking with myself, all fantasy.

I will be having a rewrite by early December, by then I should have solved the mystery of verbal.
And please I will appreciate tips on verbal because I employed all that I knew during the test.

I clicked reports score and there was my 55k staring at me on the screen..

I beg coming test takers, forget the learning of big words, the GRE dosent have big words like that, its straight forward.. Learn few words, the common ones, forget advance words and Co.. U can use magoosh flashcard for.. My problem in verbal from practice yes has always been RCs which I sometime get 3 or 4 of 10, but TC and SE are good.

Stick to one material, the most important of all is the ETS materials, all the questions that fly around are not GRE like, some are extremely tougher without clues but GRE TC and SE gives u enough clues, just learn to find it in RCs too, that's my own issue for now..

For quants, ETS is also still the best.. Then u can use magoosh or Manhattan.
Princeton practice test is a very close predictor of your real score.

Finally, I want to share my magoosh account for token with just 2 people, u can always have as many practice test and likely questions as u want. Magoosh Practice test for me is difficult than the real GRE.

This is not true. Germane platform is a platform you can get all the information you need as a prospective student. All you need to do is to start from page one through the current page; get your pen and notepad to jot points that are beneficial to you. Stop asking unreasonable question(s) that has(have) been answered times without number. I have been on that platform for about six months now gathering points that are useful for me in my preparation for next winter admission process without asking any UNREASONABLE question. This is because I jot points and do online researches on www.daad.de and Germane Universities' websites as well as Germane Embassy website.

I wrote my GRE Today
I prepared for roughly 3 months basically followed @user234’s advices, I felt extremely confident when I got up this morning.
Arrived an hour and a half before the test started. Got the quant section first, let's just say, it was deadlier than I thought
QUANTITATIVE - 168
VERBAL - 153
TOTAL - 321
I was hoping for 3 verbal sections however I was given 3 quants much to my dismay, the first section was pretty basic and I was quite confident of my performance in that section, however the subsequent two were quite challenging as I ran into time trouble in both sections, especially the final section.
On the other hand, the verbal section was another ball game entirely. The first section was really crazy. Although I understood the sentences and could identify simple words that could be used to fill in the blanks, the options provided were unfamiliar. The second section was relatively easier as compared to the first though
Both sections were a lot more difficult than I expected. At the end of the test I felt I didn’t do too well in the verbal but I was hoping for the best. After seeing my verbal score, I was quite disappointed. The examiner noticed as I couldn’t hide my expression. I am glad I got above 320 and I hope to never write GRE ever again as preparation and writing were extremely stressful and time consuming.

I was really looking forward to talking to her so I waited for a while after I was done but it seemed like she wasn’t gonna (I really hope I didn’t write “gonna” inside my essay) be done anytime soon and considering how exhausted I felt, I had to leave. 1. Did Egypt Airline ask you to hold $1,000 since you are on one way ticket. I heard Egypt Airline always ask Nigerians on ONE WAY ticket to hold $1000 should there be any issue of deportation which they will use to fly the deportee back to Nigeria, but if not you go with your $1000.

Please be kind enough to give us the summary of how he got the Phd with funding. E.g course, grade, name of school in US, GRE and IELTS scores among others.

He had the intention of traveling before he went through the application process, and the application is now successful. Why asking question on whether to go or not.

I think he should jump at it. The opportunities that await him after the Phd is very wide. At least for the future of his children.
