Prenonjebose:Between Mane and Salah who came first? Mane came to Liverpool a year before Salah....Mane's agent accepted a pay after signing for Liverpool and Salah came a year later and his agents negotiated a pay....If salah's agent negotiated a high pay than what Mane's agent negotiated, how is that the management's fault? |
ABANGWABOI:I saw this info on an online tabloid that normally publishes fake sports news and rumors! LFC offered him a contract with increased pay but he expressed his desire to leave for better challenges and age was not on his side! Chamberlain signed a long term contract of 5 years in 2017/2018 and his agents negotiated a higher pay which was agreed! My question to you is why did Mane and his agents accept the pay that he currently earns? If the agents felt he could have more, the agents would met the management again and proceeded to negotiate a higher pay! |
bluefilm:Oga Origi's contract with LFC has expired and is now a free agent! |
frog12:So Guinea's Keita and Brazil's fabinho are european players right? Smh |
The height of ignorance displayed by most of the comments in the first two pages is devastating! Some are even suggesting that LFC undervalued him because he is african or black forgetting that Fabinho is Black but earns more than Mane...Keita is a black and an african player but earns huge pay! The issue of mane earning a lesser pay than the likes of Chamberlain resides with his agents...If the agents negotiate better,he would have been paid more...So if Mane's agents agree on 120k and Chamberlain's agents negotiate and agree 180k or 190k with Liverpool's management, how does that make the management bad? Secondly the idea of liverpool letting mane go was purely out of mane's desire to leave and get more challenges at another club despite being offered a better contract by Liverpool...Since his exit was eminient, liverpool has to move swiftly to replace him! Liverpool will definitely miss him but can you force a player to stay when he wants to leave? When a player leaves, others will step up and assume responsibility...it happened when we lost Torres,Suarez and Coutinho and Mane wont be different! |
Cognitivereason:I took the pains to go through the humongous epistle you replied to another nairalander and all you said was simply trying fruitlessly to defend or exonerate an incompetent and clueless president! Yes Obasanjo and Yaradua had such opportunities to not only remove subsidy but also privatize the refineries or even build new ones! However that did not materialize, now fast forward to PMB who initially denied that there was actually subsidy which i find comical considering the fact that he was the substantial and first minster of petroleum in his cabinet and still is! PMB was not elected in 2022 when he took the hasty decision to repair the portharcourt refinery.....its was this year when NLC resisted any kind of removal that he deemed it necessary to provide funds to repair the refinery at PHcity...My question is why did he not borrow funds right from his first term in office to repair or build new refineries? why wait till almost the end of his tenure before contemplating repairs to the moribund refineries as a result of NLC's stand? Mind you during the time oil prices were down,he borrowed funds for infrastructure while living in self denial about PMS subsidy! If he had actualized the repair of the Ph refineries in 2014 or 2015 even with borrowed funds, and proceeded to repairing the others,by 2021,the refineries with the built modular refineries would have been serving Nigerians and subsidy would have been a thing of the past! The repair or building of the refineries would have made him the acclaimed hero and would have endeared himself to the hearts of Nigerians instead of this tale of excuses and blame game that he was known for! The more i hear about this flimsy excuse that keeps getting regurgitated every time the issue of subsidy becomes an issue the more i believe PMB is as benighted as his supporters! Cognitivereason:This is another flimsy excuse that cannot hold water! Where did PMB get the funds to repair PHcity refinery? Where did PMB borrow funds to support infrastructure? The modular refineries which have been built since early last year...why are they not functional? Do we need a ceremony for the modular refineries to start distillation? The more questions i ask the more i pick holes in your preposterous attempt to absolve PMB of any blame! Cognitivereason:Another load of hapless excuses as if Buhari was elected in 2022! I thought they initially said the refineries could not be repaired! ![]() So what impeded PMB from repairing the Ph refinery right from the start of the administration? why wait till 2022 before realizing that it was necessary to repair the refineries? Ohh let me guess...he was taking his time and the idea was to start repairs in 2022! Chai.... ![]() Cognitivereason:No one is disputing that it takes time to repair or build a refinery however why now? This is the second term of PMB's administration and you are confidently telling me that the idea of refinery repairs was actualized after 7 years of his administration? Like i have said before, repair the refineries or build new ones and make it function before contemplating subsidy removal.....Its that simple! Cognitivereason:Seriously partnering or trying to partner or already actualizing the plan...which one? Which year is the plan going to be actualized? Or is the actualization of the plan going to be extended to the next president? What a president?? For your info nothing is so far happening at ajaokuta! Cognitivereason:Oga stop with this benighted excuse! PMB had 2 terms not one! He got 8years not 4years to fix the oil and gas sector being the substantive minister! If he had tackled the repairs of refineries from the day he stepped into office, you wont be regurgitating this blame game that has gone stale! Please look for another sensible excuse....this one wont fly in 2022! Cognitivereason:Guy man PMB did nothing in the oil and gas sector! The modular refineries are not functioning! LPG is now at an all time high because we are importing 75%...so what did he do? Saudis used 4 years to build 3 refineries...we are using 7 years to build modular refineries that are not yet functioning and started contemplating and actualizing the repair of just one refinery after 7 and half years! Please go and do a proper defence of the clueless President...this excuse would have made sense in 2014 not 2022! |
oz4real83:You guys should get your facts right before coming online to say what you don't know! You are supposed to blame his agents who accepted the pay he currently earns! The fringe players which I believe you are referring to Chamberlain is a simple negotiation....his lawyers negotiated higher and Mane's lawyer negotiated what was accepted by all! No one forced his agents to accept the amount he earns! If a player's agent negotiate a certain amount and another player's agent later negotiates a high pay for his client which is accepted, will you now blame LFC for paying the first player less? The purchase of Darwin is due to Mane's desire to seek challenges else where possibly Bayern Munich and you expect LFC not to fill the void? Smh |
Cognitivereason:Accidental is relative...for me they are accidental because they obviously never realized what they were up against and were incompetent to fix them! Cognitivereason:Getting rid of subsidy is not the issue.... What is paramount is the colossal impact the removal will cause...if they had used the money they borrowed to either fix the moribund refineries or build new ones,we won't be making a debate about whether it should or should not be removed! Cognitivereason:Then fix the refineries! Is that rocket science? Industry of growth will even disappear totally when the subsidy has been removed without building local refineries! A case study is diesel that has been fully deregulated.... Its now hovering around 850-950 per litre from 250 and manufacturing firms are crying bitterly as they churn out humongous losses....please how does such hike in price translate into industrial growth? Cognitivereason:Do you know how much has been spent on power generation by the FG on gencos despite being a privatized entity? You cannot keep throwing money at problems and hope it disappears! The present system of power generation, transmission and distribution through the national grid is insensitive and a joke... The solution to the power problem is a total decentralization of the power system! Remove power from the exclusive list and put into the concurrent list....in other words, let states be empowered or give licences to companies to generate, transmit and distribute power to their own citizens.... Cognitivereason:Once again no body is disputing the financial burden of subsidy... However, what will be the impact of the removal on the citizens? What are the buffers? Is it 5k per month? Have they repaired or built any refinery? Until the refineries are repaired or built, the subsidy stays! We cannot keep suffering due to the ineptitude of a clueless administration that is bereft of ideas! They had almost 8 years to fix or even repair the refineries but kept chasing shadows and even denied the existence of subsidy! That is 'cluelessness' personified! The Saudis just finished building their 3 mega refineries which they started 4 years ago and the FG is comically waiting for dangote to finish his instead of building or repairing theirs! Chai.... Cognitivereason:Nice try @Backbencher The subsidy stays until the refineries are fixed or new ones are built! Its as simple as that! The over 3 trillion that has been wasted on the power generation, why are we yet to hit even hit a 7000MW....so subsidy is the reason why they have been unable to attain the promised 10000MW? Please hit me with another better excuse to exonerate this glorified ineptitude! Cognitivereason:By then the price of PMS will spike to 3k per litre! Who will be alive to witness that regime or even see the power to enjoy that's if its stable! Whether you like it or not power will and can never be solved from the centre through national grid! This is why we are witnessing a total black out across the national which is disgraceful! Decentralize the gencos, transcos and discos and watch power become a thing of the past! We cannot continue doing the same thing hoping to achieve a different result! Cognitivereason:You are entitled to vote for any candidate of your choice! However the message is simple! Both the ruling and main opposition parties have failed woefully and there is a need to vote them out....whether its obi or someone else,I don't care but enough of those parties that keep recycling ancestors that should be attending to their grand kids and enjoying their pension or gratuity! |
Ibrahimmantu79:Thank you! Seconded! |
Blackfire:please can you explain how Diesel and PMS is cheap in Nigeria? |
This is the same fate or even worse that will befall the price of PMS once the subsidy is removed without a conscious effort by the incompetent President to put in place buffers to alleviate the sufferings of the citizens! Maybe that is when our citizens will realize our leaders do not mean well for us! I have a question for those who have come out in supporting subsidy removal....what will be the fate of the economy and most especially the Nigerians that world bank predicted that more than a million will dive into poverty before the end of the year? Is it the 5k per month proposed by the FG that will get devalued once the PMS subsidy has been reduced? However there is no better solution to the ever increasing price of Diesel and PMS than building new refineries! My question is what has happened to the modular refineries that the FG claimed to have built and commissioned? The more you ask questions the more you marvel at the level of cluelessness and incompetence of this accidental administration! Totally bereft of any idea or solution to tackle the many problems they are face...the worse part is not just about having another glorified ancestor as a presidential flagbearer who will definitely continue from where PMB stopped, its the fact that some misguided youths are even trying to market these recycled politicians as the best thing since sliced bread! |
Any attempt by the present administration to remove subsidy will become disastrous for their candidate and the entire citizens will instantly vote for another party! This administration had almost 8 years to borrow funds to build at least 3 refineries..by now we would have been using at least two of them like Saudi Arabia who built two mega refineries in 3 years....! Just look at what airlines are currently facing with d hike in aviation fuel all because the FG led by PMB refused to build refineries since they had discovered that most of our current refineries are moribund and not repairable! Most of the individuals pushing intensely for a subsidy removal knowing the humongous impact it will have on the living condition of the citizens are those who can easily leave the country to another one or those speaking from another country! No one is objecting the importance of subsidy removal....but what have the FG put up as a form of subsiding the humongous impact on the lives of Nigerians and the economy? 5k per month or doing the waiting game for dangote to start his refinery? Incompetent president! Smh |
Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica, subject to the successful granting of a work permit and international clearance. Get your ‘Darwin 27’ LFC shirt at our online store now Nunez arrives at Anfield after two seasons in Portugal with Benfica, where he scored 48 goals from his 85 appearances in all competitions. The 22-year-old has also earned 11 senior caps for Uruguay to date, after making an international debut in October 2019. “I’m really happy and delighted to be here at Liverpool. It’s a massive club,” Nunez told Liverpoolfc.com in his first interview. “I’d like to thank my partner and my parents and my son, who is a real source of pride for me. They’ve been really important to me in the stages in my career. I’m really proud of them, and for the work we do, me and my partner, as a team and I’m grateful to her that I’m here. “It’s a pleasure to be here in Liverpool and I’m very happy to be a part of this great club. “I’ve played against Liverpool and I’ve seen them in lots of games in the Champions League, and it’s my style of play. There are some great players here and I think it’s going to suit my style of play here. “As I say, I’ve watched quite a lot and it’s a very big club and I hope I can give everything that I’ve got in order to help the team.” Nunez’s career in first-team football started at Club Atletico Penarol, having risen through the youth ranks at the Uruguayan club. He then earned a move to Spain with second-tier side UD Almeria, spending the 2019-20 campaign there before joining Benfica.

Ceenachi:The north will benefit because the VP will definitely be from the north and they know he won't last! |
EerinLakatabu:Salah wants to stay hoping a contract will be signed but nevertheless, salah wants to stay....mane wants to leave even if he was offered a new contract....I wish him well! He will always remain a legend at LFC! |
Minemrys:How did we underachieve? We went to three finals and lost one....we came close to to winning but it wasn't to be....the league is a marathon and not a qualifier! I really do not understand your basis for labelling LFC underachievers and will never understand maybe because thats you opinion! For me LFC did absolutely well...we could have lost all three finals and ended up trophyless...is that what you want? Guyman cut them some slack jare! Minemrys:Shitty? ![]() Ohh my God...some one did not watch the finals.....you call a team that had 15 chances and 9 shots on target against a club that had 3 chances and just one shot on target shitty? Nah wa ohh...make una go mancity or madrid nah....we dont need this kind of negative vibes joor! Minemrys:What on earth did i just hear? That was in the 90s nah...there was a time arsenal and manunited dominated the league...now they are doing catch up! This EPL or cup competitions presently are highly fierce....Now we have more clubs with huge money bags that can buy quality players to match the big teams! You have to accept the fact that we may not be blowing away almost all the teams like we did during the 80s and early 90s! Minemrys:that formation you slam has won him every thing in LFC..FACT! The Pep that you adore is yet to win a single UCL which was the reason why he was hired in the first place and none of the fans are making noise about it! Minemrys:So who is he not playing to their full strength? Minemrys:Guy man it seems you are forgetting that last season we lost all our main defenders to injury and were mostly using midfielders as defenders! even if we played a low block,we would have even lost woefully against madrid...infact the scoreline would have been more! The two players in question were still finding their feet and i would never blame them for not performing well against a well blended attack! Minemrys:U are still missing the point...which defender would he have used against madrid aside those two? He actually paired Kabak with Philips and not Rhys Williams...go and watch the lineup! Infact he even regretted why he never used the pair of williams and Philips earlier because the pair were the reason we made an incredible push to clinch the UCL spot and ended up in 3rd place despite being 6th for a long time! Minemrys:Oga pls get this very well...We cannot play like Mancity and we will never play like them! The day we play like city,we will concede recklessly against low block teams and get disgraced against teams like Aston Villa or westham! Hope U know that it was klopp trying to emulate pep's style that made us concede 7 against Aston Villa? Pep and Klopp have got their own style which has apparently been working for them! If you care more about how we should play like mancity, you should contemplate porting to Mancity! Funny enough, the same mancity that you want LFC to play like are yet to win a single UCL even under your beloved slick playing style of Pep and yet the man you criticized some much has won everything at LFC including the elusive EPL! |
Senseless talk! This reminds me of Akpabio's ranting about claiming Akwaibom was now an APC state after his defection... I doubt if tinubu will bank on him for any votes from ebonyi... If Umahi knew he was that popular, why did he wait until his second term before defecting to the APC? Just like Akpabio,he will lose scandalously! |
Honoredeblazac:Omor that combo go rugged ohh |
Minemrys:Hasn't he won the league before? We don't need this unnecessary pressure! We are not mancity or PSG fans that believe in pressuring a coach or player to deliver and then boot him out when things don't go well! We LFC fans are always patient and trust our coach to deliver no matter what happens! This is why we love klopp! |

Liverpool reject second Mane bid Liverpol have reportedly rejected a second bid from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane. The German side saw their opening offer worth £25m (£21m plus £4m in potential add-ons) rejected and have now returned with an offer of £23.5m with a potential of £6.5m in add-ons. Multiple outlets, including the Times and Mirror, have stated these add-ons would only have been achieved should Bayern win the Champions League and Mane claim the Ballon d'Or in each of the next three seasons and was therefore laughed off by Liverpool officials. The Times state the Reds' sporting director Julian Ward is using £42.5 million as 'a benchmark figure for negotiations'. |
Why is it taking the legislative arm of government this long to pass the bill that authorizes state government with the power to generate, transmit and distribute electricity? Yet they only needed few days to pass a bill that criminalizes payment of ransom! |
Excel70:He is a very important player for us but we must admit that he is no longer what he used to be due to age factor and has given us his best for LFC! This past season hasn't been his best in terms of goals as he has drifted in and out of games! The earlier we let him go now the better....He must leave now that the ovation is loudest...He will always remain a legend for LFC! But he must stop this shenanigans about leaving....If he wants to leave,he should say so with his full chest instead of using Senegal fans as coverup! |
AnfieldFan:Its not the fault of LFC...Thats what his agents negotiated and they all accepted! If he wants a payday he is free to leave....I have no wahala with him..He has done his best! Maybe this would create room for Diaz to do much better and assume more responsibility! |
.....And then the subject of his Liverpool future was brought up, Mane dropped a significant hint he wants to play elsewhere next season. "Like everyone else, I'm on social media and I see the comments," he said. "Isn't it between 60 to 70% of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We will see soon! Don't be in a hurry because we will see this together. The future will tell us." Mane is definitely going to another club next season possibly Bayern Munich! |

But it seems the harmless admonition was a bitter pill for you to assimilate, alas you resorted, rather expected, to retaliating with a rib-tickling and horrendous clapback! Gush i thought RM fans had class like their illustrious players and staffs...this one dey behave like their noisy agbero neighbors ATM or low budget Chelsea fan! For the umpteenth time, go and make yourself productive so that you won't become a nyaff to yourself and the society! |
