donbrowser:You still dont get it! Restructuring means different things to different people and he is not an exception! Where did he advocate for devolution of powers or state policing? The individuals that he was in control of in the senate and national assembly to alter the electricity laws, what stopped him from meeting them to lobby for what is very important and crucial to the unity and economic liberation of the nation? If you cannot tell me where he said so....feel free to vote for your choice rather than making claims that are not true! Yes he is the national leader of APC but did not query the presidency about their flaws which makes him complicit! If Buhari was president of another party, Tinubu would have criticized and even mocked the president but he kept mute because he knew buhari was his express passport to get northern votes! I ask again...what will be the campaign promises of APC come 2023? |
donbrowser:First i doubt if you even went through the link you posted...Yes he said the word 'restructuring' but he never explicitly defined it based of devolution of powers or creation of state policing as you are alluding to! The Afenefere clearly defined restructuring based on devolution of powers while Tinubu only used the word loosely due to pressure after being quiet over the subject and only spoke when it became obvious that he was the only one keeping mute! If you are in doubt, read the link you sent! |
donbrowser:Your undeniable support for Tinubu is quite explicit but he can never be absolved of any blame because he brought Buhari to Nigerians as the best thing since sliced bread! So why did the same northern cabal not halt the primaries by rigging the system to favour someone else instead of him? Was Lawan the only boy he had...what about Gbajiabiamila? Even if the acclaimed cabal were a hindrance, why did he not speak up if the presidency was not listening? Why is he the national leader? Even when Bisi Akande was national leader of APC,he spoken against the handling of some issues by the President but Tinubu kept quiet! Why did he not join the Afenefere in declaring support for the devolution of powers and state policing? He just kept mute for over 7years and now he suddenly realised he must support devolution of powers and state policing when he has become a flagbearer just so that he can get the votes of Nigerians? Forget about political will, the right legislature not the presidency will ensure that the devolution of powers takes place! You constantly talk about not supporting Buhari but you are also forgetting that the Tinubu you now support was also the one who brought Buhari....not just once but twice! Please if i may ask you...what will the APC use in campaigning in the 2023 since they are the ruling party? |
donbrowser:All what has been said resides with the legistlative arm of government because one of their primary duties is to write or modify laws! The issue of state police or devolution of powers are issues that can be handled by the legistlature which brings me to another issue...why keep mute for 8 years when Tinubu who was the national leader could have lobbied for these things to be done esp considering the Speaker and senate president are his boys? Yes you have no business with Buhari but the same person you are supporting was the one who said in 2014 that Buhari is the solution to the country! |
babaolofin:Exactly...I totally agree with you on this! |
toprealman:I wish i knew but thats what we currently have until Nigerians decide to elect credible and competent leaders without using tribalism and favoritism come 2023! |
donbrowser:I cannot vote for a man who helped to bring this calamity we are currently facing currently in Nigeria! For 8 years,he had the opportunity to lobby for the decentralization of power since the ones in control of the assembly and senate are his men! All that was needed was to modify the electricity laws from exclusive to concurrent and the states will have the exclusive rights to generate, propagate and distribute electricity in individual states but he kept mute for 8 years! Finally,The issue of power supply decentralization to states has nothing to do with Tinubu but it all rests squarely on the national assembly! |
XerXers:Oga i only sighted Lagos and rivers state due to the amount of funds available to them! Other states can do such...not just lagos and Rivers state! As for the Geometric Power or other Generating plants you have sighted, bear it in mind that the constitution as it pertains to electricity also states that if a Gencos increases its capacity to a certain MW,it must go through the National grid which makes no sense! The new electricity bill when passed into law will ensure that companies in buoyant or capable states will generate as much MW as possible to serve the citizens of those states! |
arantess: Na only fashola fit answer this question ![]() Interestingly decentralization of electricity was part of APC's manifesto to tackle the power problem in Nigeria! |
Bosenan:My bad...However,Passing a bill is different from it being a law which can only be done by the President and nothing has happened thus far hence the status quo still remains! |
toobusy: ![]() |
Smh What is holding the senate from passing the bill to decentralize electricity into law by pressuring the President to sign? The real decentralization should happen in states! Remove the electricity/power supply laws in the constitution from the exclusive list and place it on the concurrent list! In other words,States should be empowered to build gencos(generating company),trancos(transmitting company) and discos(distribution company) or they can simply give licences to private power companies to provide electricity to the citizens of that state! This will ensure that buoyant states like Lagos or rivers state will provide their own power without relying on the national grid that is always subject to frequent collapse! Any state that cannot provide their own power can either continue with the national grid or tap from states with the funds or capacity to generate, transmit and distribute electricity! Attaining a stable and consistent electricity system is integral to our economy and I do not see the entire country having stable power supply using the national grid! There must be division of labour and the states government must assume that responsibility to provide or give licences to companies to provide power instead of waiting for the FG to do such! |
SugarGirl44:I just had to go back and rewatch older movies! Far better than the new ones as every movie maker wants to be politically correct! |

Silentgroper:Watched him during the euros! Was behind Italy's drive to the finals! Dynamic, skillful, fast, can hold the ball at very important areas...an absolute hole player( ![]() The last season he had an injury later on which marred intermilan's drive for d scudetto! To be honest,I have watched keita at RB Leipzig and I can't believe wat I am watching him play at LFC! He hasn't even played his 50% potential of what he did at Germany! I assume injury and the fact that he is aging! Forget about his 25 official age....keita is in his early 30s or late 30s! He played his best footy at Germany! |
Minemrys:Read my opinion below on that news My Opinion: Still a rumor but will be delighted to have a player like Barella in that midfield! |
Hamzashaf99:Most deaths due to road accidents are normally human induced! Such death could have been avoided if the driver had been careful! We will definitely die some day but such death could have been avoided! |
Some Occupants of the bus, which was said to have taken off from Lagos, were burnt beyond recognition when the driver ran into a broken-down heavy tipper truck on the road.Possibly over speeding from the bus driver or the truck driver didn't put up a road sign to indicate a broken down truck! All the same, over speeding kills and such fatality has put families into mourning! |
Liverpool 'ready swap deal bid' for Nicolo Barella who Jurgen Klopp wants 'at all costs' Liverpool could be set to offer Naby Keita in exchange for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella according to reports. The Italian side are rumoured to have placed a £77 million transfer fee on Jurgen Klopp's target, which is beyond what the Anfield side are willing to pay. They are therefore looking at adding Keita to the deal in order to bring the price down. Barella is one of the key stars within the Inter squad and has another four years on his contract, hence the high asking price. The 39-times capped international played 48 games in all competitions for the Serie A runners up last season, scoring four goals and contributing a further 13 assists. Keita joined Liverpool in a £50million deal in 2018, inheriting Steven Gerrard’s famous number eight shirt. He has failed to properly impress at Liverpool, however, often finding himself left on the bench at the expense of the preferred midfield trio of Thiago, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. Now he could be set to leave the club as a makeweight in a deal for the former Cagliari midfielder. My Opinion: Still a rumor but will be delighted to have a player like Barella in that midfield! |
pansophist:Superb comment! |
NwaIdeato:True...This seems likely to happen! I dont see Kwankwaso as VP! |
Emma2Seconds:Thanks just saw it! |
EbenezerTriumph:Please show me the thread |
In a sane country, the national assembly will dump party affiliation and unite in signing for a impeachment of the CinC! By the end of next week, the President should have been sent back to his hometown while the VP cracks his head about how to control this ugly incident that have been perpetuated unabated by terrorists! But in Nigeria, the executive and legislative arm of government are best of friends and any member trying to instigate a complaint about the incompetence of the president will be tagged an Ipob or wailer! The only thing the President knows how to do is either to express 'electric shock' or give out the usual condolence through his proxies and give out already stale matching orders to the military to fish out the terrorists! At the end nothing will happen to these killers! Come 2023,if we don't get it right and vote out those two parties(we know them) that care less about our future or use our common wealth to transverse the entire world with their families and cronies like emperors, then we should kiss our beloved nation goodbye! |
fourboys:Slightly agree though he did well in his first season but went into hibernation and was even benched for a while before the manager of southy was changed and he scored that hattrick against LFC! That was when klopp told Mane that he will be playing for LFC next season and the rest is history! |
paulolee:I have watched Nunez play for Benfica and against LFC in the UCL...I can tell you without any doubt that he will be a success in LFC! He has first asked to be given the no 27 instead of a 10 or 9 just so that the burden of trying to impress will be very low! Klopp has even told the media that he does not expect Nunez to hit the ground running but he will definitely explode in the EPL esp considering the players that will be around him...those sweet passes from TAA and Robertson that are occasionally converted will be a delight for Nunez! I see TAA and Robertson dragging who will be the highest in terms of assists! As for Werner and Lukaku..its no secret that Lukaku will never impress in a Chelsea Jersey due to the fact that Tuchel's formation does not play to his strength and he is too eager to impress thereby playing poorly! He needs to play in a club that believes in him and makes use of his strenghts! Werner was actually suppose to come to LFC and he would have been a success due to Klopp's 433 formation that is usually flexible for his pattern of play but unfortunately he went to a club where the Coach formation was more of not conceding than scoring..this affected his game! |
prospaj:Same was said about Coutinho when he left! Without Coutinho,we won the EPL and UCL Without Gini,we won the FA cup and Carabao cup while reaching the UCL finals and fell short of just one point in the EPL to mancity last season! Mane has done his part in the history of LFC and deserves to leave now that the ovation is very loud...He wont be the same again considering his age(30 is his official age) but still we wish him all the best! |
The intensity of ignorance on this thread from comments esp the first 2 pages is highly disturbing! If you dont have details about something or in doubt about who is at fault, the most logical step to take is make a google search and educate yourself instead of resorting to spurious claims and mama-put joint gists! In the world of negotiation in soccer management, you dont expect Employees to give a player the best deal...Its your agents that will do that based on your value! I felt the 100k per week that his agents agreed on was way below mane's value and he didn't deem it fit to replace them! However blaming LFC management as being stingy or being ungrateful laughable and a sign that such person is uninformed! |
Athemisia:How is Mane better than Salah and how is Salah selfish? Lets stop being sentimental! Salah has scored more goals than Mane despite Mane coming before him! FACT! Salah had the highest assist last season much more than the usually mentioned Kevin De Bruyne and TAA...Proof that he was not selfish! FACT! Salah despite having some drought in games at LFC has always been LFC's highest goal scorer every season! FACT! This doesn't take away the huge influence of Mane since he signed for LFC..The guy has been phenomenal and always gives his all when he wore the LFC Jersey....Its unfortunate that the mistake was made in 2018 when his agents agreed a 100k per week despite having a superb season in 2018! If i were mane,i would have sacked those agents! I wish him well and i hope he succeeds at Bayern Munich! |
Gkay1:Chai.... ![]() Una no dey try at all! |
paulolee:Una don start with this emotional, erroneous and unverified narrative! Mane should have sacked his agents in 2018 when they agreed for him a 100k per week salary with Liverpool management after a second contract renewal! Furthermore, we have heard this epistle of gloom and doom anytime a star player leaves LFC...However, every time a player like mane leaves, other players step up to the plate...Coutinho was a typical example and interestingly, it was his unceremonious exit that ushered in the best of salah that season and opened the door to the start of trophies for LFC! ....Mane is not the first to leave and get replaced and will not be the last! |
