Car Talk / Re: New FRSC Rule On Drivers License by oseiwe(m): 1:09pm On Mar 21, 2016
GAZZUZZ:
A friend went to apply for a drivers license on Tuesday and he came back to narrate his shocking findings. He said he was told the process has recently changed.. That he has to register with a certified driving school and get training for 26days, after which he will be sent a certificate from Abuja to print out and then he can come back with it to apply for a driver license.

My friend and I are surprised at this. So I was wondering if any of you guys already know this or is someone speaking Latin?
d best way out, is to look for d nearest driving sch, get d cert, then go and apply, d new rule is dat u must present dat cert but u can process a DL.

jonhemma11:
Make Amadioha strike whoever say our Nollywood actors no get money! As star actor Kevin Ikeduba shows off his fleet of cars today, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Infiniti truck and others.

Kevin Ikeduba who grew up in a family of four here in Lagos, is no doubt a ghetto boy raised in the rugged streets of Ebute Metta in Bariga.

Look at him today, the cross-over actor came up from nothing to something. He started from the bottom, today a Rolls Royce phantom is part of his possessions.

But don’t get it twisted, Kevin Ikeduba is well educated and is a graduate of Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin. He didn’t work after school, just did little hustling and before anyone knew it, he became an actor, appearing in both English movies and Yoruba films.

Ikeduba says he’s bilingual and can speak nine languages; Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Benin, Ishan and others.

In a recent interview, when asked about his first time appearing in a Nigerian movie, here’s what he had to say:

“The first time I ever faced camera in my life, I guess the movie should be Suitors. The lead characters in the movie were Kenneth Okonkwo and Pat Attah. I played a cameo role which they call waka-pass. It was a party scene, but I did not even dance. The producer just told me to sit down; gave me a bottle of Star and a girl.”

When Kevin Ikeduba shared photo of his fleet of cars today, he captioned it “#Streetborn“.

In a related interview, when asked if he was a hustler, here’s what the Nollywood Actor had to say:

“Yes, I’m a hustler anytime, any day, like a typical Nigerian guy. You know Nigerians are hard working people.”

What words do you have for him

abeg, leave dat matter! leave trash for lawma. make i give u kelvin address for ikeja? he no get pencil lighy camry as at 01-01-16, shey he do blood money?
Phones / Re: Here's What The 'i' In Iphone Means by oseiwe(m): 4:24pm On Feb 20, 2016
SKIPCY:
We’ve been seeing it for years. The iMac, iPod, iTunes, iPhone, iPad — the omnipresent “i” prefix has marked most Apple products since the release of the iMac in 1998. But why? What does it mean? The Internet has been abuzz recently with remembering exactly what Apple’s “i” stands for. At an Apple event in 1998, Steve Jobs introduced the iMac, explaining the link between “i” and “Mac.”
“iMac comes from the marriage of the excitement of the Internet with the simplicity of Macintosh,” he said. “We are targeting this for the no. 1 use that consumers tell us they want a computer for, which is to get on the Internet simply and fast.”
In 1998, the “i” in iMac stood for Internet. Jobs followed these statements with a slide that expanded upon what else the “i” means to Apple:
Besides Internet, Apple's prefix also stood for individual, instruct, inform and inspire.
Since then, the “i” has moved beyond its Internet-centric meaning; Apple probably didn’t have the Internet in mind when naming the original iPod.
When the iPhone was announced in 2007, one of its three key ingredients was Internet communication, bringing the “i” back to its original intended meaning of Internet. (The other two fundamentals were music and phone calls.)
Since then, nearly every device has had some form of Internet connectivity built in, and the “i” has lost its association with that specific meaning and has come to represent the Apple brand.
But as Apple continues to grow into other markets, including smartwatches and TV boxes, its famous prefix seems to be falling to the wayside. Instead of iWatch and iTV, we have Apple Watch and Apple TV. Perhaps this is because we no longer need to know our devices connect to the Internet — it's something we've come to expect.
guy, it means 'intelligent' for all apple devices. now u knw

Family / Re: Nigerian Marriage, Fake Or Real? by oseiwe(m): 7:38pm On Jan 24, 2016
EgunMogaji:

Yes, you were married to him during the embassy process. USEL is knowledgable about Nigerians and fraudulent paperwork. I read an interview (on another immigration site) where an USEL official alleged that they assume that any document presented to me is automatically a fraud until proven otherwise.

At some point during the NVC stage you must have presented the original marriage certificate else your approved petition wouldn't have been sent to Lagos. Even if they asked that your Husband present the original one during the interview due to timing, he would still have had to show the original certificate to them. USE are known to focus on dates of expirations. Heck they won't even apply visa to your passport if the passport expires within 6 months.

After the interview they would have given your Husband back a stack of some, not all, of the documents that you submitted with the petition. I wager that your Husband has your original wedding certificate (if you really need to see an example of mine I can go drag it out from the safe).

Your Husband entered the US with a visa that expired at the POE and he would have been given a temporary one year residence stamp. This is why he was able to work inside of two months BUT after he got his SSN. He left after he got his 2 years residence card (to a visa) which is common to fraudsters.

Personally I think you are lucky that he vacated willingly and didn't harm you criminally and financial. Some of this nefarious characters will fake domestic violence. If they successfully go though a DV petition then they get all sorts of free government support and in most cases a fast track to citizenship in order to escape a violent spouse.

Your Husband is gone.

Go and file for divorce (I'm certain that you're married legally regardless of what some unseasoned Nigerian website says), serve him in absentia, notify USCIS (go to there website for full contact info) let then know that he left you within two months (remember that this is not instill a crime and he won't be picked up at all and they will simply wait till he's pulled over by LEO or he applies for another immigration benefit. Also provide information to USEL so they can have it on records. Personally I would walk in the evidence to the local USCIS office and ask to speak to an Officer so that you can hand the info over directly.

You're not a fraud and not alone, this happens all the time. Some folks don't even make it home together from the airport. Also remember that you are responsible for him for the next 10 years or thereabouts unless he becomes a citizen in case he receives any government assistance. Remember form I-864 that you fill out? http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864.pdf

Good luck.

PS:

..report such activity directly to the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. You can contact ICE via email at Immigration.Reply@dhs.gov or you can telephone ICE at 1-866-347-2423.

LAjibade:
Hello everyone. I have a question and was hoping you could shed me some light in a matter. I am in America. I went to Nigeria in 2011 and married my husband. I petition for him in 2012 and he arrived to America in 2013. Three months later he left. He is here in America, just not with me. He just left once he received his social security number, his permanent visa and a job in two months of being here. I haven't heard from him nor seen him again. I been wondering for a long time if my marriage to him is valid. In the marriage license it says it expired in 2013. I don't understand that.

Was our marriage set up or arranged to be temporary? I don't really understand Nigerian law or customs concerning marriage. (I am not Nigerian) I know my husband was rushing me to get him here before that expiration date. I am very confused. I also went to the office of public records here in America and they couldn't find any marital records of me and my husband, nothing. On the back of my marriage license issued in Nigeria, there is a website of marriage records, I entered my name and his name and didn't find anything. It just says no records found. Am I married to him or was it all fake? Can you please help me find out? I'd appreciate it. Even if it was all a scam, I still have Nigeria in my heart and will never have anything against Nigeria and Nigerians. Just my husband. Thank you in advance.
D marriage had expiry date and no registrar's seal. D alliance is over.
