Christianity Etc › Re: Funny Stories Pastors Tell In Church by osifred(m): 8:52am On Mar 07, 2013
Tolexander: (1)Offering.
there was this sunday morning service when a visiting pastor from other assembly came to our church. He was to collect an offering for the developement of the head quarter church. That day, he started his sermon/appease to the church members when he talked about his experience about a man in his church that the holy spirit ministered to to give the whole #100,000 he just collected as salary. The man felt reluctant initially but later resigned to fate and laid the money down as offering. The visiting pastor said before he got home, the man got an alert on his phone that #1million has been sent to his account from an anonymous.
In my mind, i said ha pastor, na me you dey bobo!

(2)LIFE PARTNER.
Our church is a lill bit developing church not like winners, redeem and deeper life.
That day when the pastor was preaching, he told us that it is better to marry someone from your church than marrying from another denomination. He cited an example of a lady that marry a man that always change to a cat in the night. All his emphasis was centered on the ladies and mild on guys.
In my mind, i knew the pastor knows that if the ladies marry from another denomination, that is good bye to the lady. But a guy marrying from another denomination brings the bride to the church and through that the church will be growing and not reducing. Pastor and overcrowding sha!

(3) HEALING
Our pastor talked about a lady that was sick and the lady had faith in the pastor telling the pastor to come and pray for her. Our pastor got there and asked if she had taken any drug, the lady answered no. Our pastor prayed for her and told her to eat and she ate rice and vegetable. Pastor said within 4hours, she was already fine and alive without taking any drug at all except his prayer.
In my mind i said ha pastor! Is vegetable not a drug? Why didn't she got healed immediately you prayed for her if it was your prayer that actually healed her.
If you doubt ur pastor this much why do you still attend his church?

'The poor will alwayz be there for you to give to them but I won't alwayz be there.' Jesus responding to his disciple when a lady wanted to wash his feet with oitment against the wish of the disciples who thought the substance could have been sold and the proceed given to the poor.

There is a 100 fold return on blessing for paying tithe while there is 30 fold return for giving to the poor.

So I rather give to God for 100 folds return

Christianity Etc › Re: Some Churches Carry-out Pregnancy Test Before Wedding: Why? by osifred(m): 9:40pm On Feb 20, 2013
Nobody is saying getting pregnant before the wedding is good but the church denying you wedding because you are pregnant is bad.

After my traditional marriage I will impregnate my wife before the church wedding. I don't see the essence of church wedding anyway and I think it is over hyped.

Nairaland General › Why Is Your Picture Not On Your Profile. by osifred(op):
When I joined nairaland in 2008 and until recently I used to have my real picture attached to my profile. I had to remove it when I discovered that more than half the members of this forum did not attach their real picture. it's not like I don't want a face to be attached to my profile and by and large my comment after all I have got more than 30 pictures on my facebook account. But for some reason I feel cheated by those who didn't upload their real picture., hence I had to take my off

So lets hear from. Why is not real picture not on your profile?
