shachris: Do you guys think with your anus? APC can never nominate a SW VP candidate. That would be a political suicide. With a without a yoruba VP slot, yorubas would vote masively for APC. The only undecided region now is SE and APC has more political sense as to field an SE candidate that can win the region over and give them the required 25%. This is just a propaganda being propagated by PDP paid media dogs, to discourage SE from supporting APC
SE should vote for GEJ, we dont need their votes.

1MCN: I was in Owerri over last week and almost all the local prints read of Okorocha's 2nd term ambition. Now I know why.
Point of correction, Nd'Imo have never supported Okorocha's surugede dance with the APC but as a matter of duty his political staff must stand by him whatever direction he chooses to move insofar their pay is coming. Okorocha is now swimming against the current and he must have realized by now how fo()lhardy his impulsive action was. If the APC picks him for VP he's still gonna be a political liability. All these excuses are just smart moves to rupu the man.
Well, please someone should tell our celebrated APC that if the rule is that there must not be muslim-muslim ticket and it must be north-south then let them make some sacrifices if they're serious. Pick a north Christian and a south muslim like Fashola. This is the only combination that'll appeal most well informed Nigerians. Oh, I forgot, in Nigerian political mathematics it is not BODMAS. It's SAMDOB
Okoro wants to reap where they have not planted anything - their usual way of life. You are supporting the dumbo in ASO rock and at the same time you want us to take you seriously.

Nobody promised Okorocha VP slot and he didn't join APC because of VP slot - go and ask him.

How has SE hinged their hope on APC? By supporting GEJ and all the bad GEJ stands for? And what hope are you talking about? Igbos and hope... I dey laugh...

This guy (OP) is an imbe.cile - go and check, Aregbesola has been offering free rail service since about three years ago for Sallah and Xmas. I have not seen anything done by GEJ on rail service. He might have patched the same old rail track and some old coal-propelled train with billions of our dollars anyway - it is all looting. The day we have a serious and desciplined government, you will know what they call rail service revolution.

PoliticsRe: Aregbesola Is Islamising Osun- CAN by OsunOriginal: 5:11pm On Oct 13, 2013
Don Magic Juan: Yes. Thank you for proving to me that fundamental islam exists in the SW and Osun is the new mecca south of the Niger River.
Osun state has been majorly a muslim state from creation but nobody paid attention to religion in SW generally. We lived together like brothers and sisters. The religion jobbers/pastors came with their usual noise and that brought religious consciousness to SW muslims.

The last time I travelled to Osun state, I couldnt believe how religious people have become - people that in those days would not even think of using cap and asking their female family members to use Hijab are all now using it. Further more, the official greeting is now Salam Alaikum everywhere. It is unbelievable how xtians and their pastors have push people deeper into their religion. Sincerely, even xtians in those communities will be feeling ashamed among the people that they are xtians. Anyway, Yorubas are accommodating and we dont descriminate based on religion - we are all brothers and systems - muslims, xtians and traditional worshippers.

Okoro, you hear me? Theiving and worshiping...

Christianity EtcRe: When Last Did You Pray For Your Country? by OsunOriginal: 3:05pm On Oct 13, 2013
See naivitity at its best... Prayer for what?

Why not encourage people to stay away from corruption, do things in the best interest of their country/community, work hard and be desciplined in everything they do? Try this and you will see how potent the formula is.

God doesnt need your prayers to do anything for you. You just do the right thing and you will get what you want. You can't continue to deceive yourself and others into believing that wrong will produce right with prayers.

Prayer is a lazy approach to life - when I see a man praying, shouting and sweating, I see a very lazy hopeless human being.
PoliticsRe: Aregbesola Is Islamising Osun- CAN by OsunOriginal: 2:15pm On Oct 13, 2013
software man: It is obvious that CAN under oritsejafor is morbidly anti Islam and utterly religious ly bigoted. The only rational reason for attacking aregnesola is because he is a practicing Muslim.

What valid points have they raised in this press release? If they disagree with the new educational policy , it is a diffrent matter. But the policy affects christian and muslim schools alike, so why introduce religious sentiments into it?
That was how they started Boko Haram in the north - it is either CAN is founding BH or they forced the radical elements in islam into terrorism by all this noise and shameless show of hatred for other peoples who dont belief in the trash they call religion. And to make matter worse, the people they are showing hatred toward are the owners of the land - the host communities.

That reminds me of a pastor in a town in Osun state where I grew up. This guy had a very loud roof-top speaker in his church. This peaceful place being a muslim town, the old fool's sermon was always about Islam and muslims - abusing the muslim leaders and running around town shouting everyday/week. I am sure the little energy in the guy would have bene exhausted by now and probably waiting to die off if he is not dead already. Where i am going is, if the people of the town were not tolerant and very accommodating, they would have burnt down the church and probably with the man.

Those xtian leaders and preachers are the real trouble makers.

PoliticsRe: My Family Thought I Had Gone Mad – Pastor Who Predicted Agagu Crash by OsunOriginal: 1:39pm On Oct 12, 2013
See Nigerians again and their naive mentality...

Why should anybody belief a pastor that saw danger but could not do anything to prevent it? Every human being dreams and they see things in their dreams. The ability to see clearly what is coming is rear - saying you see danger is vague and anybody can see this. And being able to prevent this is really what should make a person spiritually powerful - this so called pastor couldnt even clearly see what the danger was talkless of preventing it.

Three days revival was held to avert the danger but what happened at the end of the day? The disaster still happened.

Stop wasting your time - whole three days were wasted on revival the same way we waste years and years praying, wasting the little resources on the so called pastors who most of us are even better than in terms of piety.

The pastor should tell us the reason for the 3 days revival - did it produce any result?

Here we have people blocking major highway in the name of revival and making life a hell for travellers every month.

PoliticsRe: Botswana Plans To Deport Nigerians? by OsunOriginal: 9:53am On Aug 16, 2013
Italiano1: Not entirely correct.

I will not come here and be philosophizing about the differences between Yorubas and Ibos but from my observations, Ibos mistake taking the easy route to making money as being brave and industrious. Give an average Ibo man a US Visa or an Indonesia or Brazilian Visa, it is obvious he will choose the latter for "economic" reasons.

He knows he probably has to go to school in the US, start from the scratch, patiently integrate and gradually build his way up- that is not a good option for him; Rather he will go Brazil or Indonesia where if he plays his card right and the luck of his ancestors are with him, he could become a millionaire in a few months despite the fact that he is well aware of the grave consequences .

Now the average Yoruba will definitely choose a US Visa because he sees an opportunity to get a good education and gradually work his way up. Ibos will term this as fearful and lack of courage. On the contrary, I think the reverse is the case, just because you are patient does not imply fear or lack of courage.
Only animals think like ibos. Normal human beings should think constructively and do things that can be passed on to coming generations.

ASSUMING THIS REPORT IS CREDIBLE, then ...not much surprise there.

Why is it whenever the locals are fed up with Nigerians and ask them to leave, they always go on about being disturbed from running their 'business.'

Everything boils down to 'business' 'business' 'business.' Claiming a right to being left alone to do business in another man's land without reciprocating by abiding by their laws, and most importantly hating on your hosts is never going to get you anywhere.

First China;
Then South Africa;
And Kenya;
Then Lagos;
Now, Botswana.

Seriously, you guys have to check yourself, and see what you are doing wrong. You will find Japanese doing business in most countries, but you never hear them making trouble or claiming a God-given right to 'do business' on their own terms.
Ibos again? They should deal with them decisively and deport them if necessary but ensure you dump them in their states.

Don't deceive yourself, it is PDP that will suffer by reducing it to a regional party.

Just like 2011, if Buhari contests, majority of northerners will vote for him why the rest which should have gone to PDP will now go to PDM. There will be nothing for PDP in the north and rigging will be impossible.

South West is APC and nothing will stop that.

Hence, I am waiting to see how Igbo/Ijaw votes will make GEJ the president in 2015.
PoliticsRe: Open Letter To Buhari And Tinubu by OsunOriginal: 9:50am On Aug 15, 2013
What is personal ambition in trying to bring people together to rescue the country from criminals?

So, if Buhari comes out to contest, it is personal ambition but if someone else contests it is not personal ambition...

What are you looking for in a president? The current order or a complete change from the current way of leadership?

These guys have come together to change the current order and bring about sanity in governance. Buhari represents sanity in governance whether the OP is objective enough to know this or not and the reason you have not seen him taking up political positions. And where ever you see him, he has a mission unlike the other political jobbers whose desire is more and more money.

I am in the south here and we will do everything possible to ensure principled people takes over governance in 2015 regardless of where they come from.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Backs Soludo For Anambra Guber Polls by OsunOriginal: 8:07am On Aug 13, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: By MAXWELL ODITTA

If feelers from the Presidency are anything to go by, the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State would retain the governorship seat in the state in the election slated for this October.

In the intricate political trappings, former Central Bank Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, is said to have been pencilled down to contest under the banner of APGA, and he would be supported by the political machine of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Soludo, a new defector to APGA, was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra 2010 election. He finished third in that contest behind Governor Peter Obi of APGA and Dr. Chris Ngige of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

However, as in 2010, Soludo is said to be the favoured candidate of President Jonathan. He is said to have been encouraged by the president and his wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, to pitch tent with APGA since the sitting governor, Obi, is outgoing.

This political underplay is said to be against the backdrop of reports available to top political associates of President Jonathan and the Wadata House, the PDP National Secretariat, that the ruling party in the country is no longer popular in Anambra State because of a decade-long leadership crisis in the state chapter of the party which has attracted multiple court cases.

Though the crisis appears to have been largely resolved, the party is still bifurcated along the lines of loyalty to the two contending state chairmen of the party.

“The activities of the Ubas, especially Chief Chris Uba who unleashed mayhem on the state capital, Awka, in 2004 and 2005, have not endeared the PDP to the people of the state. Today, Chris’ big brother Emmanuel Nnamdi (Andy) is a governorship aspirant of the PDP and there is serious doubt that he would emerge victorious at the close of day,” said a PDP source.

Daily News watch learnt that unless for last minute manoeuvring against him, Andy Uba is likely to emerge the flag-bearer of the PDP in the state governorship election.

Andy Uba, a former Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to Obasanjo, is said to have been favoured to fly the PDP flag in Anambra guber contest as part of an earlier rapprochement between President Jonathan and Obasanjo.

Uba and 16 other aspirants, including perennial contestants, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, were cleared by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to contest the governorship primaries of the party.

Uba, whose election on PDP platform in April 2007 was nullified by the Supreme Court in Obi’s tenure interpretation case, was denied the PDP governorship ticket in 2010. He vied on the platform of Labour Party, while Soludo was the PDP candidate.

The biggest headache now for the highly influential Uba brothers, especially Andy, is how to upstage APGA in the governorship duel, with the recent reconciliation of Governor Obi and the APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh.

The Jonathan circle, it was learnt, sold the choice of Soludo to Umeh, Obi and wife of late Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, who is Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain. However, Soludo himself played very important role in the reconciliation of Obi and Umeh.

Indeed, Soludo is not without opponents in APGA, notwithstanding the affirmation of his candidature by the president’s circle. His most credible adversary is Prince John Emeka, a former senator and one-time Minister of State for Transport who hails from Anambra North, from where Obi has always said the next governor would emerge. Another such opponent is the House of Representatives member, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, a thorough-going grassroots political crusader.

But Daily News watch learnt that the fear in APGA circles is that should Soludo emerge as governor, he might ultimately decamp to the PDP, to support Jonathan’s re-election bid.

But a member of the APGA NWC debunked this, saying: “What the Presidency is trying to do is reward Obi and Umeh for their loyalty by leaving them with the control of their home state. Unless you were endorsed by Obi and Umeh, it would be difficult for you to emerge in APGA or even win the governorship. Soludo has joined APGA for good and he would be no-one’s surrogate.”

Can someone tell me why GEJ should not be suspended by PDP for anti-party activities?

A PDP president supporting a governor of another party against the candidate of his own party. Or is PDP not contesting the same election? GEJ is too desperate for 2015 and will sacrifice anything for it.
