mmsen: Your idea is foolish and typical of African thinking - completely illogical and utterly senseless.
Buhari is a known entity. He has been in the public realm longer than I have been alive. He has never uttered a word of sense. Everything he has said prior to (and since) becoming President has been rooted in retrograde thinking - defending Abacha; suggesting that Islamic law needs to spread throughout the nation; claiming that attacking Boko Haram would be unfair to the north.
Buhari has always been a destructive clown, his first term as a coupist-president was a disaster, that should have been enough for any reasonable person to know that fire is hot but some Nigerians being what they are had to stick their entire body in the fire to find out... Your choice of words in your comments has shown the type of person you are, your mentality and orientation.there is no need spraying a tire white |

There’s nothing bad in someone supporting anyone he thinks would be better if the incumbent is not doing well in his/her opinion. Modarun: Released Boko Haram Commander back to the war front, leads deadly attacks •Released Boko Haram Commander Shuaibu Moni On April 1, communities of Bale Kura, Bale Shuwarin, Jamine and Alikaramti villages in Jere local government near Maiduguri, by Boko Haram, which officials said 29 people killed and 83 wounded. Less than three days after the swap of 82 Chibok girls on May 7, 2017, and alleged payment of €3 million ransom for the release of five commanders from the custody of the SSS, a video of Mr Moni appeared, threatening the Nigerian state with continued attacks and suicide bombings. On April 2, DAILY NIGERIAN reported how the SSS struck a prisoner swap deal with al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram to release top Boko Haram commander, Hussaini Maitangaran, in exchange with Dapchi schoolgirls. Mr Maitangaran a well-known senior commander of Islamic State of West Africa, ISWA, “has been on the Service and Nigeria Army radar since 2012, when he spearheaded the armed attacks on the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone I, on 20th January, 2012, as well as other public places in Kano. MAI-TANGARAN was also responsible for the deadly explosive attacks against worshippers at the Kano Central Mosque as well as an attack on a military formation in Yobe State in 2015, which claimed hundreds of lives.” The deal for the release of Messrs Moni and Maitangaran come under intense criticisms locally and internationally following allegations of corruptions against the mediators. The unending hostage-taking by the terrorists, the swap and ransom payments process have further deepened doubts and skepticism on the sincerity of the deal. The often cited International Committee of the Red Cross involvement in the negotiations turned out to be false, in a statement issued on February 22, 2018. The agency had said that it only acted as an intermediary between the Boko Haram and the Nigerian Government in the provision of its vehicles used to transport the freed girls to Nigerian officials at Banki town in Borno State, North-East Nigeria. “With the agreement of all the parties involved, we acted as a neutral intermediary to facilitate their transport back,” added the ICRC. http://news-af.feednews.com/news/detail/47493e02ccddc40a0c1167d5e40705c0?country=ke&language=en&share=1&client=
•Excerpted from a DAILY NIGERIAN report. What do you expect when you grant terrorists amnesty. People call him a dumb leader but I say he’s a wicked leader that has an agenda.same Buhari that the sect wanted to dialog with them in Saudi Arabia years back.? I said it that the dapchi school abduction was staged by the fg because our dear lie Mohamed boasted to get the girls back in less than 18dsmays and they actually got them back surprisingly in a grand style where the sect members drove straight to city center to drop abductees and even greeting the villagers after collecting huge amounts of money and freedom of their sect members. This is a well planned script of the one that keep telling us that the bokoharam is technically defeated but giving them more fund in the name of ransoms and freeing their arrested members in the name of amnesty. What I know is, there is no reign without end. |

TMSMedia: IgbereTV reports that the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has openly condemned Federal Government’s decision to open the nation’s borders to foreigners who would be given visas on arrival, saying that it is the RUGA policy in disguise.
Recall that Nigerians rejected the RUGA policy, when it was proposed by the FG.
Ohaneze also cited the alleged siting of military institutions only in the north in contravention of extant laws that harp on balancing.
The group warned government against taking the $30 billion loan now being debated by the National Assembly, pointing out that “generations unborn would pay dearly for the reckless borrowing of current leaders if not jettisoned.” The organisation further asked the Federal Government to “dismantle all checkpoints mounted in several parts of southern Nigeria by security agencies to extort and humiliate the section of the country”, just as it condemned the attack on the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, allegedly by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The resolutions were contained in a statement issued after Ohanaeze’s meeting yesterday in Enugu signed by the President General, Chief Nnia Nwodo.

floreanth16: The President of the United States Donald J. Trump has been impeached. Trump was impeached on Wednesday when members of the U.S. Congress voted on his impeachment. Before the impeachment proceeding, the House Judiciary Committee approved two articles for impeachment. The first article charged Trump with abuse of power for pressuring Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelensky to assist him in an investigation against his Democratic rival, Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election. The second article charged Trump with obstruction of Justice by blocking testimony and refusing to make documents available to the Congress in response to the House subpoenas in the impeachment inquiry. For the first article, 228 voted in favour of the impeachment while 182 voted against. 216 votes is the required number to impeach the U.S. President. Trump becomes the third American President to be impeached and the fourth to face impeachment in American history. Andrew Johnson was impeached in 1868 while Bill Clinton was impeached in 1998 but Richard Nixon resigned before he could be impeached in 1974. However, Trump's impeachment doesn't automatically mean he would be removed as president. Trump would then be tried by the Senate on the recommendation that he should be removed, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding. This is a country, and that’s a rule of law. Not where the senate would be locked down and barricaded by the steroid induced DSS or the maze taken away in the broad daylight |

You are actually right in your opinion, but i think your view is not far from the values our culture and traditions thought us which actually placed women at disadvantage. We are living in a dynamic world and that’s why it’s different strokes for different folks. It’s obvious the woman has obeyed the tradition enough to have kept quiet for close to five years and if we all know that everyone has his or her own limits when it comes to endurance. So she must have taken different measures in the course of five years. So probably that’s the way she thinks she should handle the situation since the husband has refused to do the right thing. My opinion though. |

opportunes: The Senate yesterday urged the Federal Government to formulate a policy to integrate Almajiris into the educational system to discourage them from street begging. This followed a motion by Senator Sankara Abdullahi and 26 other senators on the menace of street begging and need to rehabilitate street beggars. Abdullahi said begging in Nigeria appears to be intractable and overwhelming as beggars are now found everywhere .
He said beggars in recent times appeared to be a new trend of beggars popularly known as corporate beggars. According to him, street begging does not only affect geographical and social structure of urban areas, it also portrays the country in a bad image to tourist and foreign investors. He said street begging, had become a worrisome socio- economic challenge in addition to been a serious menace and liability on the Nigeria populace. He said the phenomenon takes a heavy toll on the lives of teenagers, who engage in the act and and are therefore are out of school. Senators, who spoke on the motion described street begging as a major challenge. The senate therefore called on the federal government to set up vocational training centres to provide beggars with alternative means of livelihood thereby making useful to the society. (NAN)
Read more: https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/senate-wants-integration-of-almajiris-into-educational-system.html I’m not surprised that federal government of the northern Nigeria should now take up the responsibility of individual households when our president can even tell world bank that it is only the north that needs grants/funds because they are the troubled part. Is it the government telling the easterners to go into business/education/vocationals? Is the government chasing the south and southwesterners to school and vocationals? Or the nothern parents that are giving birth like pigs for the purpose (begging) doesn’t see artisans on the street or Jonathan schools? In little time someone will move the motion to start paying every northerners monthly stipends because they are less privileged. This is what you get when you keep binding the incompatible together. |

chrysora: Follow the shocking move made by Miyetti Allah to shut down meat markets in Enugu state due to insecurity of the herdsmen residing in Enugu, the leader of cattle breeders association has made an open announcement that there is going to be a nation wide shutdown of all the meat markets in Nigeria. He made this statement on live TV program in AIT kastina. He said ” There is going to be a serious scarcity of meat in Nigeria very soon because we are shutting down entire meat markets in Nigeria. This is because entire Igbo people in Southern Nigeria here have never appreciated our constant effort over the years now to ensure availability of meat in the nation” Even when the government decided to support our work to establish the RUGA settlement in South, the igbos were the first to oppose that notion, thereby causing the plans of the federal government to be null and void. We have decided to shutdown the meat markets Nationwide just to see how terrible life will be without meat for months. You can never appreciate our works until the day we take this action. Apart from this, we are also doing this to save the lives of herdsmen residing in South East and South South base of threats we have received many times from the leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo and from people in Enugu, Abia and Rivers State, which is not a good sign that our lives are secured. The only news we hear daily is just accusations of killings just like the hersmen were recently acused of killing a Reverend father in Enugu which we know it was a cooked plan. This new plan will take place few weeks from now and Nigeria will see our values. http://chrysora.com/index.php/2019/08/15/miyetti-allah-threatened-to-shutdown-meat-markets-all-over-nigeria/ They are threatening like they want to shut fuel market. Politics › Re: Senate Working On A Friday Unprecedented, Says Sen. Sani by Otsam(m): 7:37am On Jul 31, 2019 |
akelicious: Sen. Uba Sani says it is unprecedented for the senate to work on a Friday.
Sani, a senator of Kaduna Central Senatorial District, made this known in an interview at the National Assembly (NASS), Abuja on Tuesday.
He said the events of the past week clearly demonstrate the level of commitment of the 9th Assembly senate towards the progress of the country.
“Even the Senate President, who has been in the National Assembly for almost 20 years now made it clear that in all his stay in NASS, the senate has never worked on a Friday.
“This time around we all decided unanimously to put our personal interest, comfort and political affiliations aside and work for the interest of our country.
“Of course, what happened last week shows that this 9th senate is a different one, it is a senate that works for Nigeria, not for any section or personal interest, and I can assure you that what we did is just the beginning,” he said.
The senator also said the screening of forty three ministerial nominees in just a week has never happened.
Sani, also commended President Muhammadu Buhari in his choice of some of the ministerial nominees ,who have clearly demonstrated that they are competent and ready to get the job done.
“We will work closely with the executive arm of the government, but at the same time not take our oversight job lightly, we will be very serious about it, and make sure to do the needful.
“While working, we will make sure we have the interest of our country at heart, because that is paramount and most important.
“We will make sure we pass the budget whenever the President decides to bring it to the National Assembly,” he said.
Sani, however, said the senate will urged the executive arm of the government to submit the budget as early as September, so the budget can be passed on time and the president can start implementing major projects.
“We have procurement procedures, even if the budget is approved by the National Assembly, it will take nothing less than 3 months to initiate any major project in this country.
“The senate President has promised that we will try and suspend the plenary for at least a month and focus on the budget.
“So, we can pass the budget before December, and the President can start implementing major projects by January,” he said.
According to Sani, the inaugurated senate committee is not the most important thing, but working for the people of Nigeria is all that matters.
https://www.akelicious.net/senate-working-on-a-friday-unprecedented-says-sen-sani/ Senators and reps that works for few days in a week gets millions at the end of the month and still complaining/seeing working on a Friday as a big favor done to the people that works Monday to Friday and 8am-4pm each day with 18k minimum wage and even not getting paid promptly. Yet, most times, it becomes difficult to pay the hard workers their 18k for months but no month passes by without the soft workers getting their millions. Hmmmm the more you look into Nigeria’s issues, the more you get confused.

Politics › Are We All Nigerians With Equal Rights? by Otsam(op): 11:32am On Jul 21, 2019 |
There are questions that needs to be asked and given a sincere answer individually. One major question that houses the rest is: does the masses or their lives really matters to the politicians? Another is, are we all Nigerians with equal rights? Who is fooling who?. The reason for my questions that begs for answers is not far fetched, it’s because of the obvious things we see everyday and which will leave you wondering or asking those questions if you are thinking right and straight. Let’s check these two instances to mention few, there has been killings, rape, kidnaps happening in different parts of the country for some time now, virtually everyday you will read about one, in the Moro and middle belts, scores gets killed everyday, houses burnt and even in so many cases, a whole family would be wiped out by the so called bandits or herders or whatever they feel like calling them but the shocking thing is, there has been no serious reaction from the government and in most cases, it would take the opposition to mock the government of the day before they remember to send a condolence message or send a representative even when a whole family is wiped out. They have this “no big deal “ when it is not affecting them directly. We can see this from what happened last week to the daughter of one of the Yoruba leaders, unlike the usual lackadaisical attitude towards the affected areas , the presidency sent out a condolence message to the bereaved in less than five hours, number of governors went there to commiserate, dignitaries, political leaders and it almost caused unrest in the country. Does that mean, the masses does not matter? Does that mean as long as they are not affected, everything happening is normal and exaggerated as our vp said? I am very sure it wasn’t that woman alone that died as a result of that attack last week but we only heard of her, all others are irrelevant. I think this shows how we masses are to the leaders. The second one is, i went out this morning, passed through agege-old ipaja road axis, and I noticed the big, dangerous potholes that has ravaged the road all through has been patched just between midnight and this morning. These roads has been like that for a long time and it seems the government wasn’t aware but when I asked someone why they were patching in the midnight and task forces everywhere, they said the governor wants to visit the nysc camp today.... this really touched me like so, they were actually aware that the roads are bad but since they are not passing through there, the masses there are not relevant? So, things like these leaves me with questions like the ones I asked above and which I think we all asks ourselves and finds answers to it, maybe we can have another view politically and stop being petty at our own expense. I believe if we can think right and do away with pettiness, we can bring about turnaround in the leadership style of our politicians. |

Sagay said this during an interview Tuesday
The senior advocate, however, said he would not be in support of the move if it was done for political reasons.
He said he could not speak on the matter because he did not know why the case was dropped.
Sagay said, “I’m not aware of the reason because my answer must depend on the reason. I’m going to find out. Let’s put it this way: if there is a good case against him, then it is withdrawn, it’s not justified.
“One really needs to know the reason; I don’t want to start condemning him without finding out why. But if there’s a good case and that case is withdrawn for political reasons, I cannot support it.
“That’s all I can say, but there may be a justifiable reason which I don’t know yet. So, I’m not going to condemn (the Federal Government) yet without enough knowledge of the circumstances.”

deomelo: So, what's not so straight forward about the link and content.?
Or you just conveniently missed the part about the establishment of ranches to mitigate escalating crisis between pastoralists and farmers.
Now, do you mind explaining to us how this approach is different from RUGA?
Reading and comprehension is very essential.
Btw, there's a difference between tech hubs and Livestock and last time I checked, we have vibrant tech hubs in Nigeria and our tech innovators and entrepreneurs are the best in Africa. Ruga is different from ranching based on the settings, ownership, rules and regulations. The ranches would be controlled by government, cattle owners rents space(s) in ranches and abide by the laid down rules of the owner so ranches could be private or govt owned. On the other hand, Ruga settlements are basically Fulani herders settlements like mini-villages which will allow them have the full authority of the settlements, have their security set up themselves, they can have their own leader just running like a town inside another one. So there is no way that won’t cause a greater disaster. |

Amakavula: So we Abuja residents came out emass yesterday and stood up to the COZA pastor, even with his security thugs just to protest his treatment of women. And stand with Mrs Dakolo !
Here are some of the images from that protest, and yours truly, Amaka baby was there in flesh, can you spot me ? If only these people could channel the same strength to protest in front of National Assembly for accountability and good governance. |
