The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has explain why the ministry embarked on the construction of a dual carriageway in Mararaba area of Nasarawa State.

IDOMA VOICE observed that the project, which was done under the supervision of Pastor Barth Oche, was commissioned on Saturday amid plaudits.

Speaking during the ceremony, which was attended by politicians, royal fathers and top government functionaries, Dr. Enenche said the ministry embarked on the project to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who he described as the Master Pacesetter.

His words, “The motivation is like what I read from the scripture earlier that we are the light of the world. A city set on the hill cannot be hid (Matthew 5:16).

“Jesus laid the foundation that we should go into the world and preach the gospel not just in words but in works. Which means, we should let the people see light, love, direction and developments and that is our undying and tireless passion at DIGC.

“The same passion with which we use to preach to people to repent is the same passion we use to reach out to them through efforts as this.
“This shows that if they can’t hear the gospel, let them also see the gospel and then come to Jesus who is our master.

“By God’s grace, were have embarked on several similar humanitarian works before now. We built classroom blocks in Benue, chapel in Wesley High School Otukpo, roofed buildings, empowered widows and the less-privileged. Like in Abuja here, we constructed the Area One road from the Old Federal Secretariat down to Dagba village. We electrified the place and several other things.
“I could recall that a village in Kuje for about many years never had drinkable water until the church came to their rescue. This is what Christianity is all about. All these were not done to impress anybody or bring external motivation but to let the people see the light and glorify God, who is in Heaven.”

The Dunamis International Gospel Centre, DIGC, came to the aide of residents of Mararaba area of Nasarawa, a community that shares boundary with FCT Abuja, with the construction of their road.

IDOMA VOICE learnt that the road hitherto was a nightmare for motorists and commuters in the area, especially during rainy and dry seasons.

The dual carriage was commissioned by Dr. Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche on Saturday.

Speaking during the commissioning of the project, Dr. Paul Enenche, said the essence of Christianity is to set pace and show the world what do do.
Speaking on the topic, You are the light of the world, Dr. Enenche said one of the reasons the church exists is to show light to the world.

"We did not do this to prove a point, we did this to show that this is what the church is all about.''

"This is not the first time. We have done this severally before. Like in Benue and other places, we have done similar projects."

Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, DIGC, has bemoaned what he described as war of attrition going on in Nigeria.
The fiery preacher during a communion service in the church on Wednesday, decried the level of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly the killings of Christians by those he described as anti-Christ.

Speaking on the topic, There is War and monitored by IDOMA VOICE, Enenche, a trained medical doctor, lamented the abduction and eventual murder of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Chairman in Michika, Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram insurgents.

He also faulted some Christians who have decided to look the other way because of material things they tend to get from government of the day.

He challenged other Christians to rise up and condemn the atrocities going on in the nation with the aim of Islamizing the country.

He said, “When there is prolonged conflict that has the aim of gradually reducing the strength or effectiveness of the ones you are fighting and weary them into submission, it is called attrition.
“There is war in our nation. Whether anybody would agree or not, it’s a matter of either deception or wickedness. But there is war.

“It is a war between evil and good. War between light and darkness. A war between those who love life and those who love death. The war between truth and lie. War between goodness and wickedness, love and hate. War between Christ and anti-Christ. But the anti-Christ is not permitted to function while the church is on earth
“There are those burying their heads and pretending as is if nothing is happening. Unfortunately, there so many Christians, who maybe for the sake of salary or what to eat are defending killers.
“Between Christmas and now, I’m sure you must have read of how many persons have been killed in the north east. Unfortunately, the media is reporting not reporting it.
“You are aware of how can chairman in Michika was abducted, killed and decapitated this year.

“But I tell, not under our watch will Nigeria be Islamize.”

Governor Samuel Ortom has urged persons displaced from Tyo-Mu community of Makurdi Local Government Area as a result of crisis to return to their homes as security has been beefed up in the area.

The Governor made the call today during an on-the-spot assessment of the crisis accompanied by members of the State Security Council.

He decried the level of destruction that took place, pointing out that people of the area who had lived together for decades have no justifiable reason to engage in violence.

The Governor stated that the development would rather bring untold hardship to residents and their relations who are living in the urban areas. He said dialogue remains the panacea for conflicts.

While charging the security council led by the SSG to do everything lawful to unravel the cause of the crisis, the Governor also ordered the arrest of all perpetrators of the crisis for prosecution, to serve as deterrent to others.

He warned that no one owes land except government, stressing that there was no reason to fight one another on acccount of land ownership.

Security reports indicated that 37 houses were burnt while three persons lost their lives through an autocrash as they were fleeing the crisis-ridden area.

Fresh facts have emerged over the circumstances surrounding the removal of the Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State from seat by the Supreme Court.

Recall that Ihedioha was sacked on Tuesday by a 5-man panel of the apex court and declared Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the election.

However, video clips have emerged on how Prophet Udensi Godlove of Land of Oil Prophetic Ministry AKA, Hill of the Lord, Lagos State, warned Ihedioha against troubling his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha or risks losing his seat.

Prophet Udensi, who prophesied the Otedola tanker explosion, had during Sunday services in his Church, warned Ihedioha to desist from fighting Okorocha, saying those the latter had helped were praying for him.

In the clips obtained by DAILY POST, the prophet warned that: “The present Governor of Imo State, the one they called Emeka, they should warn him that ‘agwo no na akrikia’. The lord said the way he’s fighting the past one is the same way they will fight him and he will not go for second term.

“That they will still use this very method to fight him. He’s sowing a seed. He should be careful and withdraw his hand from Rochas. There are some orphans that Rochas has trained and their prayers will fight him. He will not go for second term. So, if the governor does withdraw from fighting Rochas, calamity will enter his house. You will hear it.


“You see that Governor of Imo State, if he does not leave Okorocha that he’s fighting, he will not go for second term. I have seen the Imo election of 2023 and the man is not in the picture. That Okorocha that Ihedioha is fighting has been training some widows and orphans and they have cried to God. If you know that man, tell him to leave Rochas alone. If he continues to fight that Rochas, he will not stay in the office to even go for second term. If he does not stop fighting Okorocha, God will bring a new person who has never been Governor to take over.”

In July 2019, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission sealed some properties owned by former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha on the order of his successor, Ihedioha.

The properties include Dews of Hope Hospital traced to Dr Paschal Obi, ex-principal Secretary to Okorocha, Market Square Supermarket, All in One Shop, and premises belonging to Imo State Broadcasting Corporation now hosting Rochas Foundation College owned by Senator Okorocha.

Similarly, Fr. Ejike Mbaka of Adoration Ministries had during his New Year message predicted that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Hope Uzodinma, will take over from Emeka Ihedioha as Imo Governor in 2020.

There is palpable tension and fear among members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue State over the impending court’s verdict on the controversy surrounding the election of Governor Samuel Ortom in 2019.

Ortom was declared winner of the 2019 governorship election, but Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had approached the court to challenge his victory.


The Tribunal and Appeal Court had in 2019 thrown out the petition of Jime on the ground that it lacked merit.

Jime, who was dissatisfied with the lower court’s separate verdicts; approached the apex court to seek redress. Meanwhile, the case is yet to the determined.

However, there is currently tension in the camp of the incumbent governor following then removal of Ortom’s party man in Imo, Emeka Ihedioha by the Supreme Court.

The apex court had in a controversial judegment delivered on Tuesday, declared Hope Uzodimma of the APC winner of the election, which the former came fourth.

Ortom has been at loggerheads with the federal government following his approval of the anti-grazing law in Benue State.

Sources said some supporters and appointees held an all night prayers for the governor on Tuesday.

They prayer was led by a Makurdi-based cleric.

The governor’s appointees have been asked to take a fast on Wednesday and Thursday to pray for their principal.

At the end of the year Get-Together/Awards Ceremony organized by the Senate Management for the Staff of the Senate, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan reassured the nation that the 9th Senate was in a hurry to deliver on the targets set in its Legislative Agenda.

Basking in the euphoria of the early passage of the 2020 budget, he said: "We passed our agenda. What we intend to do as senators to enhance good governance in Nigeria is to make Nigeria better for the citizens. And of course the way we want to go is different from the way of the past because perhaps, the goals and targets are different.... So between now and the next two years, we have told ourselves that we have to work hard to ensure that ,as a legislature, we are able to perform our roles creditably to enable government function very well for Nigerians. And that is what we have been trying to do".

Predictably, the Senate President's lofty vision and reassuring words may have ignited hope of a paradigm shift, of the unfurling of a new order the nation desperately needs to reinvent itself but subjected to integrity test based on his actions as Senate President, his preachment rings hollow as a cruel hoax envisioned to hoodwink the nation and continue on the trajectory of deception which has so far imperiled and stymied our quest for development. Nigerians who invested the highest premium and confidence in the ability of Senator Lawan to lead by example did so for cogent reasons.

Arguably, one of the longest serving legislators, he came to the National Assembly first as a member of the House of Representatives in 1999 on the platform of the defunct All Peoples Party (APP). His twenty year stay in the hallowed chamber gives him a rare insight into the politics and inner workings of the legislature. As one of the few longest serving lawmakers with vast knowledge and experience of this hallowed institution, the Senate President is conversant with its strengths and weaknesses. And having capped his years as a legislator with his emergence as Senate President, so much was expected of him. After all, to whom much is given, much is expected.

But the tragedy going by his actions thus far is that the Senate under his guidance and leadership is tottering on the edge of a precipice, charting dangerous and discredited path which had hitherto attracted to it public ridicule. In truth, the reputation of the 9th senate may well be irredeemably damaged unless conscious and concerted efforts are made by progressive senators to rescue it from the doldrums and insufferable crisis of confidence visited on it by Senator Lawan.

A case in point is the recent appointment of Ahmed Kadi Amshi, the immediate past Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President when he was the Majority Leader in the 8th Senate as Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).This appointment represents not only a blatant demonstration of arrogance of power and repudiation of the Federal Character principle as enshrined in our constitution, it signals a death knell on the paradigm shift the Senate President had promised the nation.

Apart from disdain for the principle of federal character, a closer look at the appointment of Kadi Amshi which riles the sensitivity of all fair minded people, is morally repugnant and therefore unacceptable. Amshi not only hails from the same Bade Local Government Area of Yobe state as the Senate President, he also comes from the same political ward.

Mallam Adamu Fika, the former Clerk to the National Assembly and immediate past chairman of the commission also hails from Fika in Yobe state. Even more damning is the fact that Lawan's handpicked chairman of the commission is inexperienced for the job. The commission is saddled with the responsibility of recruitment, promotion and discipline of the staff of National Assembly. This delicate task requires the experience and services of top notch technocrats and astute administrators in the rank of former Clerks to the National Assembly, retired Permanent Secretaries or Directors in the Federal or State service.

From inception of the National Assembly in this democratic dispensation, over 80 per cent of the commissioners were retired bureaucrats who brought their wealth of experience to bear and assisted a lot in building capacity in the legislature.

Ordinarily, the chairmanship of the commission should rotate between the North and South in the interest of the federal character principle. Moreover, no Southerner has ever headed the commission in its twenty years of existence. The 8th senate may have wanted to correct this anomaly when it nominated Sen. Joy Emordi from the South East as Chairman designate with eleven other members spread to reflect the federal character. Senator Emordi was not only a ranking senator, she was also presidential liaison officer to the National Assembly under the Jonathan administration and was therefore eminently qualified for the office.

But desperate to foist his personal agenda, Lawan upon assumption of office, rejected the appointments in favour of his preferred candidates. There is no shred of doubt that the Senate President mislead the President to make appointments which has continued to rankle genuine lovers of the legislature.

Any doubt regarding this reality was laid to rest by the President vide a letter to the National Assembly. The President said, "Further to your letters (NASS/9th/S/SP/PRE/1/NASC/06/11/19 dated November 6, 2019 and NASS/9tg/S/SP/PRE/1/NASC/25/11/19, I write to convey my approval of your nominations for the appointments of Chairman and Commissioners of the National Assembly Service Commission as follows: Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi - Chairman (Yobe, North East), Babagana Modu - Member (Borno, North East), Abubakar Tutare (Taraba, North East), Hakeem Akamo (Lagos, South West) Tunrayo Akintomide (Ondo, South West), Atanomeyorwi Francis (Delta, South-South). Others are Bassey Etuk (Akwa Ibom); Bailyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi (Zamfara, North West); Sani Saidu Kazuare (Jigawa, North West); Julius Ucha (Ebonyi, South East); Nnamdi Anyaechie (Imo, South East); Auwalu Aliyu Ohindase (Kogi, North Central) and Muazi Is’haq (Nasarawa, North Central)".

The Senate President's single handed control and determination of these appointments is a triumph of impunity and political interest over due process and federal character. It is a betrayal of public trust and a huge blow on the evolution of the legislature as an institution. It is taken for granted that the actions of those who occupy high office should be guided by national interest at all times. But when personal interest as in the present case assails national interest, then we unwittingly sow the seeds of disunity.

The Senate is faced with two choices: either to acquiesce to the unconscionable action of the Senate President and allow the mess to fester and consume all of them or rise up against this aberration and avert the looming catastrophe threatening to imperil its much advertised Legislative Agenda.

Inside the hallowed chambers of the Senate are some principled patriots. The exigencies of the moment demand that they rise to correct this anomaly. The Legislature is too important to be shackled in any shape or form the narrow selfish agenda of an individual no matter how powerful.

TETFUND: EFCC, ICPC asked to probe agency over alleged corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), have been asked to probe the activities of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) over alleged financial mismanagement.

This came following the recent revelation by the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), that the agency received N993.3billion from the Federation Account between 2012 and 2016 but “does not have a comprehensive accounting and operational manual.”

DAILY POST observed that TETFUND is an educational fund established with the mandate to administer the two per cent education tax imposed on profit-making taxable companies registered and doing business in Nigeria.

A Board of Trustees, BoT, constituted to manage the Fund was charged with the responsibility of utilizing the oil and gas and non-oil and gas revenues from companies to rehabilitate, develop and improve the quality of tertiary education in the country.

National Anti-Corruption Ambassadors of Nigeria (NACAN), which made the call on Monday, lamented that ninety percentage of TETFUND's projects were neither publicly advertised in National Tenders journal or any known newspaper where reputable companies would see and bid for them rather.

The group said it has sufficient evidence that at TETFUND under the leadership of Prof Elias Suleiman Bogoro, the Executive Secretary, award of contracts is no longer on the basis of performance or competence but strictly driven by “an insatiable, inordinate plot to receive kickbacks.”

Recall that the Nigerian government had in January 2019, sacked Abdullahi Bichi Baffa as the agency’s Executive Secretary and reinstated Suleiman Bogoro, who was dismissed in 2016.

The Senior Pastors of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, during the week reached out to more people as part of activities to mark this year’s Christmas.

Idoma Voice observed that this time around, the cleric took the Christmas Ministration Outreach to Makurdi, Benue State during the Apostolic Invasion Crusade.

The outreach came following the massive ministration in Abuja where thousands of persons were empowered.

In Makurdi, thousands of persons drawn from various denominations and ethnic groups benefited immensely from the outreach where food and clothing items running into millions of naira were distributed.

Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche was on ground to personally supervise the distribution of the items.
