By Yemi Itodo The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has said that he won the Saturday Gubernatorial election In the State. Diri therefore, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare him winner of the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state. Senator Diri who made the call on Monday while briefing newsmen in Yenagoa, said that the results monitored by his party's situation room in the eight local government areas, showed in clear terms that he won and should be declared the governor-elect of Bayelsa state. The PDP governorship candidate who announced 98,582 as the total figure scored by the PDP said the APC got a total of 55,903 in the election. Giving a breakdown of the figures, he said the PDP scored 4,096 in Brass local government area while the All Progressives Congress (APC) got 2,525. According to him, the PDP polled 9,903 while the APC had 7,976 in Ogbia, while in Southern Ijaw, the PDP scored 12,225 and APC got 9,542. Senator Diri who announced that in Yenagoa, the PDP polled 21,165, said the APC scored 15,560, while in Sagbama, the PDP got 60,339 and APC had 7,831. He further explained that the PDP polled a total of 21,381 in Ekeremor, while the APC scored 8,780. Also in Kolokuma/Opokuma, he noted that the PDP had 12,110 and APC 6,659 while in Nembe, PDP polled 24 and APC had 908 votes. He maintained that it was illegal for the APC to have contested the governorship election because of a subsisting court judgement and urged INEC to disqualify the APC, which is a major contender in the exercise. He stressed that he did not contest the election against the Candidate of the APC, David Lyon, who was returned winner by INEC as the party had already being disqualified by the court before the election. The PDP's agent, Chief O.O. Osusu, said there were two subsisting court judgements before the conduct of the November 16 Governorship election, stressing that it was wrong for the APC to be on the ballot. In separate speeches, governorship candidates of the Green Party, Eniye Zidougha, APGA, Fayeofori Bob-Manuel, Okiah Jones of Masses Movement of Nigeria as well as several other guber candidates who spoke, lampooned INEC for declaring the candidate of the APC, Chief David Lyon winner. According to them, despite obvious irregularities including the use of the Nigerian Army to intimidate voters and subvert the will of the people, the electoral body still went further to announce the results. The aspirants therefore, challenged INEC to produce the court order which cleared the APC to participate in Saturday's governorship election. He questioned the use of returning officers from one particular university at the collation center who they noted were influenced by the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole to rig the polls. They also berated the Army for its interference in the polls to favour the APC and called on the electoral umpire to declare Senator Douye Diri of the PDP as winner of the governorship election held on 16 November, 2019. The Chairman of Ogbia local government area, Hon Ebinyon Turner recalled his ordeal in the hands of soldiers of the Division 6 of the Nigerian Army who arrested him and other party members during the election.

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to collate results of Saturday's gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa State, a coalition of civil society organisations have called for the rejection of results from areas where elections did not hold. The coalition, representing various groups accredited by INEC as Observers for the Bayelsa election, made this call Sunday evening, at a press briefing in Yenagoa, as interim election report. The election monitoring group said voting did not take place in Nembe and Ekeremor Local Government areas, including some units in Yenagoa, where violence marred the process. Though, results from Ekeremor Local Government Area were still being expected, but INEC has collated the results presented from Nembe LGA, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled a total of 83,041 votes, leaving the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 784 votes. But the observers said "Nembe LGA was the worst hit in pre-election and election related violence", stressing that, "Elections did not hold in Nembe LGA". "On Wednesday, the 13th of November, 2019, a political party was having a campaign in Nembe LGA. Some blood thirsty gunmen came to the venue and opened fire without any provocation whatsoever, killing scores of law abiding Nigerians. "Same gunmen prevented election from holding in Nembe LGA. Till the time of this briefing, there has been no arrests, no prosecution, thus increasing the impunity associated with committing such heinous crime as perpetrators are largely known and seen moving freely in such communities," the coalition stated. Hide quoted text The group also observed that, "In Yenagoa Ward 5, Epie 2 Ward 4, Apiffa 2 Ward 2 and Epie 3 Ward 6, elections did not hold. "Some parts of Southern Ijaw were completely disrupted with violence. There was no elections in Ekeremor". The observers expressed shock that, "Several communities in Bayelsa state were sacked, not due to flood or any natural disaster, but as a result of their affiliation to a particular political party", adding that, their interest was to preserve the democracy of Nigeria. While berating the activities of the Nigerian security agencies in Bayelsa state, the observers want "politicians who sponsor, fund, aide or abate violence be made to face the full wrath of the law". The observers also alleged that the fundamental human rights of citizens of Bayelsa, as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution, were grossly violated. "What we saw in some LGAs in Bayelsa state is an aberration to this constitutional provision and grossly not in consonance with the provision of the Electoral Act 2010 as Amended. "We observed that elections did not hold in some parts of Bayelsa State as it was grossly disrupted by violence, intimidation and ballot box snatching. In some instances, there were complete absence of voting materials and Ad hoc staff", the group added. Present at the briefing are, Mr. S. B Bafunsho of Organization of Justice for Equity Sustenance; Dr. Isaac Onyike of Centre for Strategic Conflict Management and Comrade Peter Nwokolo of Citizens Rights & Leadership Awareness Initiative. Others include, Sandra Osunde of Global Policy Advocacy & Leadership Initiative; Dr. Nwambu Gabriel and Rev. John Pofi of Reverend John Pofi Foundation

By Yemi Itodo The Governor of Bayelsa State, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has accused the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, of compromising security in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Governor said that, even though Gen. Sarham has been transfered to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, he refused to move and waited behind to supervise the use of the Army to perpetrate heinous electoral crimes and irregularities in the Bayelsa guber polls. He noted that the GOC and the Brigade Commander of the Artillery Brigade, attached soldiers to all APC leaders in all the wards who they use to terrorize people from one polling unit to another. The Governor added that the GOC moved to Yenagoa to personally supervise the undemocratic and illegal activities of the Army in the Bayelsa polls, using the Brigade Commander of the Artillery Brigade as the commander of his soldiers in the orgy of violence on Bayelsans. Major General Sarham was reportedly expected to handover to his successor, Major General Felix Aguguo, on November 5, but was said to have aborted the handing over process till after the Bayelsa governorship poll. It would be recalled that the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Moses Cleopas, had alerted the nation of a plot by the APC to use the GOC and the Nigerian Army to undermine security during governorship poll in Bayelsa. “I am accusing the GOC of of the 6th Brigade, Major General Sharham Jamil of delaying his handing over process after his transfer to the Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna, to perfect this illegal mission of rigging the election in Bayelsa. “He and the Brigade Commander of Artillery Brigade, Elele, Lt Col Wase, are the ones attaching soldiers to all APC chieftains in every Ward to rig the election in all the polling units. "I understand that because of the desperation of the Federal Government, the GOC 6th Division, Port Harcourt, Gen. Sarham who is known as the commander of the APC Army rigging wing, refused to move even with his transfer to the NDA as commandant and I wonder what lessons he will be giving to those young cadet officers. “General Sarham has defied his transfer posting and has stayed back to complete his mission of rigging Bayelsa for APC. “General Sarham has moved to Yenagoa some days back and he’s there now breathing down on everybody and using soldiers everywhere to terrorize, intimidate and to arrest our people. "So gentlemen, let me say once again, this election, you should allow the people of Bayelsa to vote, anywhere the people of Bayelsa have the opportunity to vote, they will vote PDP. They will vote for the candidate of our party. APC knows that and that is why the desperation is so high. “I call on the President of the Federal Republic, even though he has decided to look the other way since 2015 when Timipre Silva, his right hand man was deployed to kill and terrorize our people. “The President has to wake up and do something; this is not a democracy; what is going on in Bayelsa in the name of an election is not a democracy. “The observers are everywhere and everyone knows what is going on. I call on the president to call the security forces, the Army to do what is right, I call on the Inspector General of Police to be true to his professional calling and direct the DIG and all police officers to protect the people of Bayelsa State. “I do not want to be pushed to the level of calling them to defend and protect themselves, I would not want to do that, but please, there is so much a people can take in the hands of their brothers and sisters in the name of an election", Governor Dickson lamented. https://punchng.com/bayelsa-election-dickson-accuses-security-agencies-of-conniving-with-apc/amp/

By Yemi Itodo The Rev John Pofi Foundation and some communities in Bayelsa State, have warned the Nigerian military personnel against turning communities into war zones, following an intelligence that the security agency was being mobilised to disrupt collation process. The foundation warned that the Military personnel in large numbers and stationed at Aridof hotels, the political base of All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipriye Silva, is currently experiencing unusual large presence of military officers. The military personnel were allegedly drafted to the communities by the APC stalwart and the Governorship candidate, David Lyon, on the suspicion to be used to disrupt the collation of election results. "They are allegedly camped in a location within the communities in preparation for disruption of results", said Mr. Owie Luke one of the indigenes of Bayelsa. Rev. John Pofi of Reverend John Pofi Foundation, expressed great worries that the development would spell great dangers to the state. "Why are these soldiers in Bayelsa? What are these large number of soldiers doing here which are even more than during the general elections. "Nigerians must cry out today and condemn the attempt by the military to repeat the mayhem and bloodbath they caused in Buguma, Rivers State, during the last general elections," Rev. Pofi lamented.

By Yemi Itodo Reports of violence, killings, snatching of ballot boxes and intimidation of voters seem to have marred the ongoing governorship polls in Bayelsa state. Though there are also reports of peaceful voting in some polling areas, general reactions to the election indicate many voters are not happy with the conduct of the election. The first sign that all was not well with the election, is the late arrival of materials at some polling units. In Ogbia local government area where the former President Goodluck Jonathan hails from, as at 11am, INEC officials and voting materials were yet to arrive his polling unit in Otuoke. At Amarata Area, Fambramat Unit Ward 13, late commencement of voting due to logistics problems. Also In Ekeremoh local government area, political thugs allegedly led by a top party leader hijacked sensitive electoral materials to his residence at Ekeremoh LGA. An official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after collecting sensitive materials from Oporoma, allegedly arrived Otuan without the sensitive materials, after voters discovered that the original result sheets were not in the list with her. The official was however apprehended by party agents who questioned her motives for showing up at the polling unit without the original result sheets. In SILGA Ward 14, the military stationed around the area also allegedly held top party leaders hostage in Ogboinbiri community. The leaders were reportedly held hostage for over two hours thereby preventing them from voting. Some non-registered voters, who were allegedly imported to Kolokuma Odi allegedly made attempts to vote with fake PVC, but the residents resisted such moves. An electoral official, Mr Orji, who is originally the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), for Anambra State, was quoted to have said, “As our people were coming into the community after crossing the river, they seized them and the materials and burnt all the materials". In Otuan Ward 5, Southern Ijaw local government area, election materials were also hijacked by gunmen, while some suspected thugs were apprehended by military men. However, in Polling Unit 004, Opokuma South, Bayelsa, election went on peacefully, likewise in Ward 07, Polling Unit 001, at voting points 1 and 2, Ogbia LG. At Amassoma town hall, voters waited patiently for the distribution of ballot boxes and papers to the various wards and units. In Opolo Ward 5, Unit 7 and 9, the situation was however tensed as some gunmen invaded the area and shot two persons while others were injured. Some of the polling units around that area have all been now moved to Opolo town hall for security purposes. An INEC official said the people refused to vote, insisting they would not vote and allow others to vote for another party, apart from the All Progressive Congress (APC). This resulted into no voting activity in the area. At Yenkwe Town Hall Square, Atisa III, the environment became tensed over non functioning card readers. The people were agitated as no security presence was there.

By Yemi Itodo As Bayelsans throng out in their numbers to vote for a new governor, the electorate at units 7 and 9 in Opolo are being disenfranchised. This, was even as, two supporters of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) were feared dead and were rushed to the hospital immediately. Trouble started when, some armed thugs appeared at the voting centre, at a time the election materials were been conveyed, preventing the Adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from offloading the materials. "They said there was not going to be any election except we allowed them thump print all for the APC. We insisted election must hold, but they started shooting and everyone became scared. "Go there and see blood everywhere. They shot two guys who have been taken to the hospital. We don't want to lose our lives. "Since they don't want the election in their area, we are leaving, because our lives are more important to us", a female Corps Member posted to the area (name withheld) told our reporter. One of the locals who identified himself as Frank, also told our reporter that the thugs were believed to be working for the All Progressive Congress (APC), as they insisted that all votes must be done in favour of the party. He said, "the Hoodlums came to Opolo near the town hall and cut the hand of one of the PDP boys and shot one in the head, they have been taken for treatment. "The boys ran back to Udeme Hotel after their action", saying, he believed they were lodged in a hotel belonging to a former federal lawmaker. When our reporter visited the scene, operatives of the Nigeria Police and Department of State Services had taken over the environment, providing security for the election materials which were to be returned to INEC office, Yenagoa.

With few hours to the governorship election in Bayelsa State, fears, tension and anxiety have enveloped the state as the residents now live in fear of the unknown. This is as a result of reports of violence and killings recorded in some parts of the state. In Yenagoa, the state capital, reports show that some suspected political thugs dressed in military uniforms are allegedly distributing guns to young men for them to foment trouble during Saturday's election. Places such as Nembe, Azuzuma, and Ogbia are currently witnessing violent activities by political thugs who are allegedly attacking residents. Some of the community members have reportedly fled to the forest. Other places where there is apprehension includes Opuama in Southern Ijaw local government area, where eight speed boats filled with armed men was reportedly sighted floating, thereby preventing people from entering the town. Military personnel have also been deployed to different parts of the state. Communities such as Peretorugbe in Ekeremor local government area were surrounded Friday night by heavy military presence as the Nigerian Army now conduct stop and search on every one coming in and going out of the community, to prevent breakdown of law and order.

By Zubairu Muktar Recently, the media was awash with news alleging the illegal arrest of a former Chairman of Peugeot Automobile, Alhaji Sani Dauda and others by the Nigeria Police Force. The story which was attributed to Nasiba Sani Dauda, attempted to question the basis for the arrest of Alhaji Sani Dauda, her father, who had only recently given her out in marriage to one Abdullahi kaloma. The story went on to cast aspersions on the person and character of her estranged husband, Alhaji Abubakar Musa. It is pertinent to note, however, that the writer did not tell the public the entire story leading to the arrest and arraignment of Alhaji Sani Dauda and others. One of the things Nasiba Sani Dauda failed to apprise the public is that Alhaji Abubakar Musa has since 2016 till date been legally married to her. However, sometime in 2018, she surreptitiously obtained a dissolution order from Grade 1 Sharia Court, Tundun wada, which was later vacated by an Upper Sharia Court, Kawo, Kaduna, on grounds of lack of jurisdiction on the part of the lower court. This effectively means that the dissolution was therefore null and void and of no effect, and that the couple are still legally married. Although, this Upper Sharia Court judgment was subsequently appealed by Nasiba Sani Dauda at the Sharia Court of Appeal, Kaduna, the case and a similar case filed by her at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are all still pending till date. Surprisingly, in spite of the pending cases in court, Nasiba Sani Dauda was secretly given out in marriage to Abdullahi kaloma by her father in clear violation of section 384 (1) of the Penal code which criminalizes such conduct. It is for this reason that her estranged husband, put up a petition through his Counsel, Rilwanu Umar & Co. to the Police Command Headquarters, Kaduna, alleging inter-alia: Criminal conspiracy, assault, wrongful confinement, wrongful restraint, force imprisonment, voluntary causing harm, enticement of a married woman, bigamy, re-marriage with concealment from former marriage, contrary to the provisions of the Penal Code. For the avoidance of doubt, Sections 384, 385 and 389 of the Penal Code law are quite explicit on these infractions. Sections 385, for instance, notes that anybody who remarries with concealment of former marriage shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to a fine. It is instructive to note also that, one Usman Abdullahi Tela, a good Samaritan and an honest Nigerian, who had in the discharge of his civic duty tried to draw the attention of Alhaji Sani Dauda and others to the illegality inherent in their action of getting Nasiba, a married woman given out in marriage to another man, was bruised, battered and illegally locked up inside a room. Is this not also a criminal act deserving of Police action? Available records clearly show that Alhaji Musa is certainly not the first victim of this organized blackmail by the Alhaji Sani Dauda’s family. There are other young men who had married the daughters of Alhaji Sani Dauda in the past and were equally subjected to similar ridicule, harassment, intimidation and blackmail. But shall this Infamy be allowed to continue? Enough is enough! It is therefore against the above backdrop, that Alahji Sani Dauda and others, in connection with the matter, were, following the outcry from Alh. Abubakar Musa, invited by the Kaduna State Police Command for questioning. Let it suffice to state that I have known Alhaji Abubakar Musa for a period spanning over three decades as a peace loving man that cannot hurt a fly. It is exactly for this reason that I feel it is my humble duty to set the records straight and correct the jaundiced impression which the write-up may have created in the minds of the innocent public. It is my humble plea therefore, that rather than engage in media warfare and pull-him-down syndrome, the writer, Nasiba Sani Dauda and her father should allow the due process of the law take its course. (Alhaji Zubairu Muktar writes from Tudun Wada, Kaduna State).

Part of activities to mark her birthday was the Empowerment of Outreach for women as well as the less-privileged. WWW.IDOMAVOICE.COM observed that several women were empowered with cash gift and other business items during the event. Among the items distributed were; sewing machines, grinding engines, deep freezers, bags of rice, industrial ovens and several other items worth millions of naira. Emotion, however, betrayed most of the women, who broke down in tears of joy after receiving the items. Speaking earlier during the programme, Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of DIG Worldwide, urged those empowered to use the items to the glory of God. He said the ministry would from time to time embark on such gesture to reach out to the society. He said, “What is happening now is what life is all about. When Jesus cam,he said the thief has been around killing, stealing and destroying but I have come to give life. That is to say, his life is the empowerment to other life. The real purpose of of life is that a person’s life should be used to add value o other life. “I define the abundance life that the scripture talked about in John 10:10 as a meaning full life. A life that has meaning. A direction-filled life. A quality life as well as a durable life. This is what today has come to exemplified for everyone here.” Dr. Paul Enenche, who rendered a birthday message to his wife, also prayed for God’s blessing upon everyone out there who shares the same birthday with her. The story of Dr. Mrs. Rebecca Inyangbe Enenche (Nee Ibu) could be best captured with the caption: ‘Pure Gold.’ She is a true definition of what the good book describes as ‘virtuous woman.’ With an infectious smile and unstinted hands, Mummy Becky, as she’s fondly called throws up an image of a docile wife. Dr. Mrs. Becky, wife of Dr. Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre is a woman arrayed with prestige and modesty. A seasoned and passionate teacher and preacher of the WORD. She’s gifted with a heavy prophetic mantle for accurate Word of Knowledge and Instant Action Unction that yields instant Divine intervention. Just like her husband, Mrs. Enenche was a praticising successful medical doctor, before dumping the ‘theatre’ for the ‘altar.’ A peep into the world of this soft-spoken and unsparing woman exposes one to an island made of gold. Her effortless grins coupled with words of kindness warm the heart of anyone who has been acquainted with her. Her passion to help the needy is evident through her lifestyle of philanthropy and service to humanity. Determined to see a world where women become better daughters, sisters, mothers and role models and generational influencers, Mummy Becky founded the Women Ministry at DIGC. Despite her busy schedules, Mama runs a Monthly meeting called Marital Success Strategies for Enriching Sisters (MASSES), where she addresses the many challenges that women face because in her words, “the state of their welfare determines the state of their spirituality.” Mummy is indeed many things rolled into one – wife, mother, role model, proprietress, administrator, author, trendsetter et al. The Dunamis International Gospel Centre, on Tuesday distanced itself from an online Ponzi scheme called “Dunamis Investment Platform.” The church, under the leadership of Dr. Pastor Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Paul-Enenche, declared that the ministry does not operate a Ponzi scheme, stressing that such was a “scam.” This warning was contained in a statement signed by Pastor Victor Stephen, Head, Central Admin of the church on Tuesday. The statement urged Nigerians against transacting any business with such platform because its owners are fraudsters. It further warned that anyone caught in the act would be made to face the full wrath of the law. The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to an online Ponzi scheme known as “Dunamis Investment Platform” where individuals are asked to invest a certain amount and get back double their investment within a few hours. By James Ewaoche Amedu The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, on Monday, visited the Tivid Orphanage Home located in North Bank, Makurdi, the Benue State capital. The senator, during his surprise visit to the orphanage, donated cash, bags of rice, sugar, noodles, toiletries and other food items to the children. The lawmaker said the visit was part of activities to celebrate Nigeria's 59th independence anniversary and to let the children know that they are not alone. Addressing the visibly-elated kids and their counsellors, Senator Moro said, "As this place is consciously named, it's a beacon of hope for the hopeless. "We that God has elevated to some positions higher than others, we owe a responsibility to give that hope and that is what I have come to do today. "I have come to make to make these children know that they are not alone. "Some of us are out there are for them and we'll continue to be for them. "As it is now, they should know that they have a big brother in me because I am also an orphan, the only privilege I have is that I am not here with them in the orphanage because God has provided a home for me. I know that God will use me as an instrument to provide a home for them," he promised. Receiving the lawmaker to the orphanage, a partner and spiritual counselor of the home, Pastor Dave Ogbole, thanked the senator for the visit and donation. Pastor Ogbole revealed that the Tivid acronym actually means TIV and Idoma. He said the idea was birthed to provide a home and a second chance at life for orphans and vulnerable children in Benue State. Pastor Ogbole said most of the children in the home were those from crisis-affected areas of Benue state with most of them having horrible experiences of the Fulani herdsmen crises. On her part, the founder of the orphanage home, Miss Favour Enewa Ada-Paul, thanked the Senator and his entourage for the visit and gesture. She, however, informed the visitor of a major challenge of the orphanage, which is accommodation. She said the landlord has been threatening to throw them out of the home if she cant raise 15 million naira to buy off the facility by the end of December 2019. Responding, Senator Moro appreciated the good works of Ms. Ada Paul for giving the children a home and a hope. He promised to liaise with other well meaning Nigerians on how to find a befitting accommodation for the children. Senator Moro also adopted two children from the orphanage home - little Miss Precious Ngbede and Master Idakwo. Benue State-born Blessing Ene Ameh, a corps member serving in Akwa Ibom State, has donated a portable borehole to Ikot Okubo community. The project was commissioned on Friday, September 27, 2019 amid applause and accolades. Speaking with WWW.IDOMAVOICE.COM, Miss Ameh, who finished from the Department of Educational Foundations (Pre-primary and Primary Education) of the Benue State University, with second class upper division, said her decision to embark on the project was informed by the hospitality of her host community. The Owukpa-born damsel said she was pained that the community hitherto lacked good source of water supply, which is one of the essential commodities to human being. She shares the story of her humanitarian efforts below. Can we meet you? My name is Ameh Blessing Ene, state code: AK/18c/2610, serving in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. I am from Benue State, Owukpa in Ogbadibo LGA. I graduated from Benue State University, Makurdi, Department of Educational Foundations (Pre-primary and Primary Education) with second class upper division. What informed the project? This project was inspired by the experience I had when I chose Ikot Okubo as my settlement. I was warmly welcomed, cared for, and above all, loved as one of their own. In this regard, I thought within me, how could I reciprocate their kind gesture and hospitality. I was able to identify a common problem that affected the people of Ikot Okubo community; the lack of good source of water supply, which is one of the essential commodities to human being. It was on this ground that I decided to take up the challenge to provide a permanent and lasting water solution to the people I have come to live with, and love. I believe this was my little way of keying into the DAKADDA philosophy of His, Excellency, Mr udom Gabriel Emmanuel. Although, at first, it appeared a difficult project to embark on personally, especially after evaluating the cost of execution, and the stress I would undergo. However, on a second thought, I figured nothing could measure up to the love I received here than the ultimate reciprocation of love- in form of a project that would not only improve the lives of these ordinary people, but leave a lasting impression of my time here. As a country, we need national unity , and as a people, we need to practice love and kindness. How did you fund the project? The community, individuals, churches, and government bodies in the state, Ministry of Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport. What were the challenges in the course of this project? My major challenge was finance. I actually started since February. I gave up at a point but still I have to keep pushing n thank God it is a success now. What message do you have for other corps members out there? I want to charge my fellow corps members to be impactful within this one year of national assignment and if possible leave their places of primary call a better place than they met it. Nevertheless, let use this opportunity to thank the almighty God for using me to be a blessing to Ikot Okubo people and also to acknowledge the contributions of the following persons: the Hon. Commissioner- Ministry of Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Akan OkonThe Permanent Secretary- Ministry of Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Effiong, Ekpenyong. The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, has aired his views on the mixed reactions trailing the closure of Nigeria's borders by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government. Retired Col. Hameed Ali, the Comptroller General, Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), had explained that the borders were closed to checkmate three issues: importation of fire arms and ammunitions, smuggling and human trafficking. Speaking on the floor of the Senate during the Wednesday's plenary, Senator Moro maintained that the policy was the least option, revealing that there were over 1,000 illegal borders which were being used by smugglers. He said, "I support this motion to the extent that it stops smuggling of products. Closed border is, however, the least option available to stopping smuggling." "Perishable goods legally imported into the country by legitimate business owners are wasting at our borders because of the closure. There is a need for the review of the policy." "There are 87 legitimate border routes and Nigerians who are legitimately doing business have been caught up in the cross fire. It has further stopped our revenue in trans border trade." Moro, a former Minister of Interior, further called on the FG to find appropriate thing to do in other to cushion the effect of outright closure. Supporting Senator Moro's submission, Senator Enyinanya Abaribe of Abia-South Senatorial District, urged relevant agencies to work with Senator Moro since he was a minister in charge of interior, to find a lasting panacea to the impasse. He said, "His (Moro) submission is apt and indisputable. As a former Minister of Interior, he seems to know more about finding lasting solution to the smuggling challenge confronting the country." It was a mixture of tears and excitement on Tuesday at the weekly Healing and Deliverance Service of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre after a dead baby with hole in the hearth was brought back to life at the Glory Dome, Abuja. WWW.IDOMAVOICE.COM gathered that the baby, who is barely a year old, was said to have been diagnosed with hole in the hearth about 11 months ago. Sharing the testimony amid tears of joy, the visibly elated mother told the joyous congregation that the previous night, it was a tug of war as the baby could not sleep while battling with distress. She said when she woke up around 6am, she discovered that the baby had stopped breathing. "I covered her and brought to her the service around 9am. Till we got here, I was monitoring her breathe and she was still not breathing. However, during the course of the service while Daddy was declaring and ministering in worship, she jacked back to life," the elated mother said. Responding amid songs of worship, Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor, DIGC, revealed that during the ministration, the Holy Spirit whispered to him of the resurrection miracle. "Only God can take this glory. I heard it clearly during the course of ministration through worship songs but for one reason or the other, it was not announced." Dr. Becky Enenche, who is a medical doctor, confirmed to the excitement of the congregation the miracle after she used her stethoscope to auscultate the breathe of the child.
