Good day Nigerians, I stand before you today at this solemn moment to add my hope to yours as we move through a trying moment in our history. As your leader, before I proceed I take responsibility for every action that precipitated this dark cloud of grief over us. The history of police brutality predated my administration, we have tried in the past to make changes in the Nigeria Police to position her for optimum productivity and efficiency, but the realities of the last two weeks awakens in us that there is so much to be done. Our youths we referred to as "leaders of tomorrow" clearly showed us that that tomorrow has come. The Nigerian youths came out in their numbers, defying every sentiment that keeps us apart to press for justice, happiness and sense of pride in their beloved country. From Lagos to Abuja, Port Harcourt to Aba, Enugu to Akure, Akwuzu to Illorin, the message was loud and clear. I have never been prouder of the leadership, resilience, hope in our country, faith in ourselves, creativity and innovations demonstrated by our youths as they made their demands known from our streets. From the streets I saw a lady Jane with clutches, she came out with one leg to add her voice, but she went home with two legs courtesy of the ingenuity and compassion of Nigerians. From the streets I saw a nursing woman with a child, stretching a twisted fist towards a people to give more meaning to her voice, because the future of the child in her hand must be secured. From the streets I saw a young lady weeping, she sat on a statue meditating on how her loved ones fell for police brutality, but in that her moment of grief, she still held on to our banner in her hands. She still has hope in Nigeria. A little girl marched with a flag, demonstrating beauty and courage, believing in our future like we believe in hers. The music and gyrations sank your messages even harder. The spirit to share food, water and even phone charging points was inspiring and almost made me to join you. The most astonishing part of the protest is the swiftness to clear the grounds of wastes, young men and women walked behind with leather bags, staining their hands to keep paths of protests clean. I appreciate you for this rare show of leadership. Thank you once again, like my vice said earlier, we are sorry. We take responsibility for the past and present and would need you to work out the future you are yearning for. If there is anything your protest taught me, is the fact that the future of Nigeria is bright because you have shown capacity to manage this country well even when we are far gone. Your leadership qualities as expressed on streets in Nigeria and across the globe, if continued would make us the generation before you sleep well in our graves knowing that Nigeria your country is in safe hands. Your five-point demand was adopted. We immediately banned Special Anti Robbery Squad and not to create a vacuum we created the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and we are working hard on the remaining four which includes setting up Commissions of Inquiry which is being done across the country as I speak. We are giving SWAT befitting trainings and equipment to equip them in fighting crimes in the most professional way our limited resources can afford, and I am assuring you that no members of the disbanded SARS will be a member of the newly formed SWAT. The Inspector General of Police is working hard on this directive. The peaceful protests would later become a ground where all manners of interests wanted to hijack to find expressions. Hoodlums attacked protesters, burned down businesses and the lives and properties were in danger. Last night remains my most traumatic and longest night in my life. Rains of bullets on peaceful protesters left behind rains of tears across homes and faces of Nigerians. I stand to offer my deepest condolences to families involved and Nigerians at large. We are still on the situation and would not spare anyone found wanting. The deaths of our youths doing their constitutional right to peaceful protest is regretted and I condemn the act with every sense of pain, anguish and sympathy. Our youths must see these deaths as painful as they are, these fallen heroes paid the supreme sacrifice standing with our flag, singing our anthem, believing in us and our country even to the very end. They are the true heroes and heroines in our struggle for a New Nigeria. May God heal Nigeria, Goodnight Nigeria! Enenche Enenche Abuja, Nigeria.

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has revealed the reason behind the nationwide outrage. IDOMA VOICE reports that Nigerians, especially the youths have been on the streets, registering their displeasure over the abnormalities in the land. The protests have persisted nationwide despite the disbandment of the police formation by the IG. Reacting however, Dr. Enenche attributed the anger being expressed by Nigerians across the country to the loud impunity, nepotism, tribalism, religionalism, oppression and subjugation in the land In a video broadcast entitled, The Way of Peace, the trained medical doctor said there can be no peace in the face of hunger and suppression. According to him, “There is no peace where there is massive injustice, unfairness and lack of equity. There can be no peace in the face of oppression, suppression and subjugation of one people by another. There can be no peace in the face of nepotism, tribalism, regionalism, religionism and every form of such prejudice. There can be no peace in the midst of deprivation, poverty and hunger.” Dr. Enenche also decried how a section of the country is in charge juicy positions in government while other zones look helplessly. On the way forward, the cleric called for equity, fairness and justice. He added, “People have clamoured for restructuring. It is the devolution of power; otherwise, there may be dissolution of union. It happened in other places and we pray and trust God it doesn’t happen in our nation. “It is not time to play the ostrich and hide the under. What is not confronted cannot be conquered. In medicine we called something the debridement of wound, you expose wounds in order to repair them. “It is time to tell the truth because people have been suppressed, subdued, subjugated and treated as if they don’t reason. “Nigeria is one of the most intelligent nations in the world. Our doctors and our professionals are the most intelligent in the world. It is time for us to sit up and say these things must be corrected.” The cleric urged protesters not go violent while expressing their anger. He added, “As for every protest going on, two wrongs cannot make a right. Protests are encouraged to be peaceful and calm. No destruction of lives and properties in any form. Let lives not flow because of abnormalities in the land.” Watch full video below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wd-JG5UeeQ https://www.idomavoice.com/2020/10/protests-dr-paul-enenche-reveals-why-nigerians-are-angry-speaks-on-the-way-of-peace.html Seun, mynd44, lalasticlala

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche has reacted to the ongoing protest across the nation. Nigeria has been boiling for days now after some youths took to the street to demand for end of police formation, Special Anti-Robbery Squad. The protest has been remained despite the police authorities scraping the unit and announcing a new formation, IDOMAVOICE reports. Reacting to the development, Dr. Enenche said only true change is the only way forward, not resistance by force. His words, “The protest that you see going on is not just a reaction to what they are talking about, they are reacting to general wahala. “There is a limit to which the human spirit and mind can cope with oppression. Our people are easygoing, excitable, we have a very long endurance capacity, hard to complain as we are wired to endure." “All manner of terrible oppression, nepotistic oppression, egotistic oppression, where there is visible oppression from one segment of the country; tying to dominate by force and taking strategic positions everywhere. “People have been keeping quiet for a VERY long time and they say we can be quiet any more. And the solution is not to resist them by force; the solution is to make the thing change urgently.” SOURCE; https://www.idomavoice.com/2020/10/breaking-dr-paul-enenche-speaks-on-nationwide-protest-reveals-only-solution-video.html

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, has decried what he termed 'poor budgetary allocations to education, works, and other sectors' in the 2021 budget. Recall that President Muhamamdu Buhari, had last Thursday, presented the 2021 Appropriation Bill before the joint session of the National Assembly. The proposed expenditure is put at N13.08 trillion, with a crude oil benchmark price of $40 per barrel. Speaking on principles of the 2021 budget during Wednesday’s plenary, Senator Moro said the budgetary allocations to the education, security and works sectors were inadequate. He specifically decried the poor state of the Otukpo township road in Benue State, which he described as a 'death trap'. The distinguished Senator said, “As properly christened, budget of economic recovery and resilience, I do see some flashes of good tidings but when you look at the details, we still have a lot of works to do. “I want to say that we have a lot of works to do in education, because if we must attain good results and achieve the Sustainable Development Goal in education, we still have to look in the direction of meeting the UNESCO minimum standard in allocation of our budget to education. “In 2021, we have N70 billion allocated to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), N545.10 billion for the Ministry of Education in the recurrent expenditure and N127 billion for capital expenditure. “Although, there is an improvement in the allocation, if you put all the aggregates together, we still have not arrived at any reasonable level in the threshold recommended by UNESCO. “If we agree that education represents a very vital instrument in our drives towards national development, if we must use education as a tool to lay a foundation for a strong democracy, for building an egalitarian prosperous nation, for building an indivisible and indissoluble sovereign state under God, then we don’t have a choice but to allocate more funds to education. “We also have the highest number of cross-border, out-of-school students in the sub-region; that tells you a story about the need to revamp and reinforce our tertiary education system, which, at the moment, is facing a myriad of challenges. We need some more funding to shore up and salvage our education sector. “In 2020, we talked about the need to allocate more funds to the Ministry of Works. If you fly our roads today, many of them are in states of serious disrepair. “I want to draw your attention, Mr. President, to the serious situation in my constituency. “The dualization of the Otukpo township road was flagged up in December 2018, but the road has been left in a serious state of comatose, and quite frankly, it is impassable and literally translating to a death trap. Just about 8 kilometres. "The Taraku-Alaide road also presents a very pitiable sight, yet, these are roads whose contracts have already been awarded. “The ministry of works that is saddled with the responsibility of building our roads is begging for serious funds to offset the debt owed contractors, to have enough funds to embark on new roads. This needs to be improved upon."
