Pastor Moses Alu, the Overseer of the Bride Assembly Church Pastor Moses Alu, the Overseer of the Bride Assembly Church, has thrown his weight behind the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA, which was recently approved to by President Muhammadu Buhari. WWW.NIGERIADEFENDER.COM reports that in the new law, “Section 839 (1) empowers the Commission to suspend trustees of an association and appoint interim managers to manage the affairs of the association where it reasonably believes that- (a) There is or has been misconduct, mismanagement in the administration of the association.” This has generated reactions from the Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, respected clerics Enoch Adeboye of RCCG, David Oyedepo of Living Faith and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, who claimed Buhari wants to use new law to silence Christians in Nigeria. Reacting to the development, Pastor Moses Alu said the new law is now a new thing because it exists in other countries where some Nigerian pastors have their churches. He said the law is a welcome development as it would check the excesses of some church leaders. He made this know in a video obtained by NIGERIA DEFENDER while addressing his congregation. He said, “The first person to react to this new law is Bishop Oyedepo. But let me tell you this, there is nothing like anti-Christ agenda in the new law. I want you people to know that there is nothing like the government trying to cage the church. “The same regulation is in other countries where these same pastors have their branches. The reason they are making noise is because it is going to check the excesses of church leaders in Nigeria. That law has nothing to do with your worship. “There is nothing like trustees in the bible. If the same government gave your certificate, why can't they regulate your activities? Preachers are called to be teachers and not trustees.” Watch full video here...https://www.nigeriadefender.com/2020/08/26/cama-pastor-moses-alu-of-bride-assembly-church-backs-buhari-blasts-oyedepo-others/ CC: Seun, lalasticlala, mynd44

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has finally apologised over his attack on a Daily Trust reporter. The ex-minister therefore withdrew his comment and begged for forgiveness. His apology was contained in a post on his Facebook wall and obtained by WWW.NigeriaDefender.com I met with my advisors till late last night and I wish to say the following. I hereby withdraw the word “stupid” which I used in my encounter with a journalist in Calabar. I have many friends in the media who I offended by losing my cool and using such words. I hereby express my regrets for doing so. I do however wish to state categorically that no threat of physical harm was ever made to the journalist in question and neither did I send anyone to threaten him. Anyone that says otherwise is lying and I challenge them to bring the proof. I would never seek to physically harm a journalist. For the last 30 years I have defended and worked with journalists and fought for the right of freedom of expression. I am also very close to many in that profession. I would be the last to seek to disparage those that are honorable and noble within its ranks. I hope that this will assuage the pain and anger of anyone that was hurt or offended by this ugly episode. I have now put this matter behind me and moved on. Now my tour of the South continues. Moving to yet another state today! Source....https://www.nigeriadefender.com/2020/08/26/under-fire-fani-kayode-apologises-withdraws-stupid-comment-against-journalist/

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that a crisis would soon hit the Nigerian Army. According to the cleric, the impending crisis would lead to an indictment of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai. In his latest book of prophecy, released over the weekend in Lagos, titled: “Warnings to the Nations, A Collection Of Divine Signals,” the clergyman warned that a document would indict Buratai. According to Primate Ayodele: “A document will indict the Chief of Army Staff on some of the happenings in the war against terrorism in Nigeria. “I foresee some soldiers will voluntarily disappear or resign from the army because of poor welfare. On the Nigerian Army's fight against Boko Haram and Buratai, Primate Ayodele said: “The spirit of God says most of the soldiers involved in the Boko Haram war exposed the game plan of the military to the insurgents. “I foresee that some soldiers will go on a protest march. “I foresee that some Army Commanders and Generals will be removed because of sectionalism. “I foresee that a document will indict the Chief of Army Staff on some of the happenings in the war against terrorism in Nigeria. “I foresee that there will be high-level cases of corruption in the army especially in the war against Boko Haram. “I foresee that some soldiers will voluntarily disappear or resign from the army because of poor welfare. “I foresee that the Army will work tirelessly to defeat the Boko Haram insurgents.” Source>>>>https://www.nigeriadefender.com/2020/08/24/i-see-war-chief-of-army-staff-buratai-will-be-indicted-prophet-elijah-ayodele/

When Evangelist Mathew of a popular church in Ejigbo, Lagos, decided to carry out the great Biblical injuction that says: “Therefore, go and preach to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”, little did he know that some aggrieved unrepentant sinners could go the extra mile of beating him silly like a common criminal. Perhaps, in his many years of carrying out God’s work, Friday, Agust 14, would remain evergreen in his memory, as he met more than he expected from some irate commercial sex workers who believed his sermon within their premises was not healthy for their bed-to-wealth trade. According to an eyewitness account of the public show of shame, Theresa Okwudili, trouble started for the 36-year-old man of God when he stood at a close range to Golden hotel, Ejigbo, and began preaching to the women of easy virtues and their male clients to forsake their sinful ways and turn to God for deliverance and salvation. WWW.NIGERIADEFENDER.COM Gathered that irked by the Evangelist’s constant castigation of their flesh-trade, the red light district ladies were said to have murmured within themselves. However, when it seemed to them that the preacher was not in hurry to end his sermon and leave, Hannah, said to be one of the most notorious members of the ‘quickie sex club’ decided to take the bull by the horns. “She angrily brought out a bucket of water and poured the man of God. “As he was still trying to comprehend what was going on, another prostitute menacingly advanced towards him and started pushing him away. He was almost pushed to the gutter if not for the timely intervention of passers-by”, Okwudili narrated. Providing more insights into the genesis of the brawl, Uchenna Kingsley, whose residence was adjacent to the brothel stated thus: “That was not the first day he was preaching at that place. But he didn’t use to get so close to the brothel premises as he did on this occasion. To me, I believe he overstepped his boundary because he knew the place was an unholy zone; he should have treaded more carefully”. His usual sermons, according to Kingley were always tilted towards repentance. “Most times, if not all the times, he uses the Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 6: 18-20 which goes thus: ‘flee fornication! Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s’. He uses this verse interchangeably with Proverb 6 verse 32, which also revolves around fornication and adultery. “These are ladies that resent anything called ‘the word of God’. Most of them even hate God. Their daily business is to smoke, drink alcohol to stupor and finally sleep with any available man for a price. It is their daily routine. Even though if anybody would convert them, as some have been converted, it’s not by forceful preaching and outright condemnation of their evil acts as the Evangelist was doing”, Kingsley further noted. Although, all efforts to speak with the Evangelist hit the rock, it was gathered that he did not make any attempt to fight back the ladies, whom we were told he described as daughters of Jezebel. “He only said God will pay them back in threefold and left the scene with his audio gadgets and wet body”, the source hinted. https://www.nigeriadefender.com/2020/08/19/drama-as-prostitutes-beat-pastor-to-coma-for-preaching-in-their-premises-in-lagos/

The Senator representing the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, has called on the people of the state to support a candidate from Benue Zone C to become governor of the state in 2023. Senator Moro made the plea on Saturday during the Benue State Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to elect state Executives of the party. The Lawmaker urged political leaders in the state to pick courage and support someone from Benue South to become governor so as to build an all-inclusive Benue State. Since Benue State was created in 1976, nobody from Benue South axis has been elected as governor, a jinx Senator Moro said should be broken in 2023. He called on the five royal families from Zones A and B to support somebody from Benue South for governor in 2023. His speech below; "Today is unique because it sets a stage for a milestone and, therefore, let me seize this opportunity to thank the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, who tenaciously ensures some level of cohesion in PDP that makes it a formidable party and a party to beat in Benue State. "Today, I stand on behalf of the good people of Benue South Senatorial District to say that as we set the stage and march towards 2023, the good people of Benue South asked me, if I come here, to say that they crave the indulgence of the Benue people to support somebody from the Benue South Senatorial District to become Benue Governor in 2023. "In 2007 when some of us contested for governorship seat, we were under the impression that Benue had three zones and that since zones A and B had produced governors of the state, it was the time for Zone C to produce one. "This was unmindful of other permutations that were in the watch. "Today, 2023 stares us in the face. I am saying because it will be very difficult for us to meet again in good time before other permutations to decide on where to go. "And so, Your Excellencies, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, it's my pleasure to say here that by all calculations that our amiable Governor is the fifth Governor of Benue State of the Tiv speaking area of the Royal families. "I, therefore, plead with our brothers from Zones A and B to support someone from Benue South to become governor, even if it’s for just one term. "Today, we are on the threshold of history and I urge our political leaders to pick up courage to support one of us to become governor, to build inclusiveness in the Benue State and the Benue of our dreams. "I agree with the spirit that has pervaded the historical life of our Tiv brothers and sisters of 'eating and giving to your brother', that in the build-up to the new inclusiveness, let the people of Benue South become the 'brother' of the Tiv now. "All of you know that a Tiv man, the revered JS Tarka, fought for the minorities, and, therefore, I call on our Tiv brothers and sisters to pick up from where our revered statesman stopped by making 2023 a year where Benue will build a new inclusiveness. A year where the Benue people will say 'enough is enough', that we are one people because we work together and together we stand stronger. "Together we can achieve more. Together we can go far in the drive for us to make a new Benue a reality. A Benue where everybody is everybody’s keeper. "Thank you and God bless Benue State!" https://www.idomavoice.com/2020/08/benue-2023-eat-and-give-your-brother-sen-abba-moro-makes-strong-case-for-idoma-governor-at-pdp-congress.html seun, lalasticlala, mynd44

By Yemi Itodo A 'Free Image Entertainment' model, Miss Esther Ene Daniels, on Friday, launched an aggressive social media campaigns against rape in the Nigeria's society. Queen Daniels, who currently wears the crown of Miss Idoma Ambassador in Benue State, took to her various pages on social media with the campaign titled, 'Give Her Pen, not Penis', apparently saying the girl child deserves best education, not to be sexually molested. Recently, there have been reported cases of rape across Nigeria, ranging from the cases of the UniBen student, Uwa Omozuwa and one Tina Ezekwe, to other cases in Makurdi and most recently, Ene in Otada, Otukpo, amongst others. Queen Daniels felt that the male dominated and porous society was not been fair to the girl child, whom she said has constantly been the victim of rape. "World over, the girl child has been centrifugally positioned in the society as the inglorious recipient of this heinous social vice. "Every now and then, a story is told of how a helpless and hapless girl, lady or woman is sexually molested, with many cases resulting to death", she said. The Idoma born beauty Queen expressed great disappointment in the Nigeria's Justice system, which she said has been the reason why many rape victims could not speak up or approach the court. She said, "In our today's Nigeria, it is practically impossible to prove a rape case in court. Thus, it gives a greater chance for a donkey to pass through the eye of a needle than a rape victim successfully prosecuting a suspect in Court. "Bad as this may sound, it has been the Nigeria's story. This has accounted for the low rate of reported rape cases in the Nigeria's court, despite the increasing rate of rape actions in the society. "Often times than not, the victims had had to live with the agony, trauma and personal shame, with a perpetual fear of not narrating her story. Many atimes a story is told but not believed or badly judged by the public". Miss Daniels, while calling on parents/guardians to give listening ears to their children/wards and believe their stories; also called on the government to strengthen its system, in order to make rape victims pay for their ungodly acts. "What the girl child deserves is a pen and not a penis. The society needs to reassure the girl child that she is still secured, in a male dominated and porous environment. "Parents and Guardians, on their parts, owe the girl child the duty of a confidant by giving her the listening ears and not acting the role of a prosecutor and a judge same time. "The National Orientation Agency and the Civil Society Organizations must live up to the occasion of reorientating the society, with the view to disinfecting the corrupt mindset of the male folk who enjoys inflicting pains on their fellow humans. "Also, the Nigeria's National Assembly must come up with a legislative piece to define stiffer penalties to those found guilty of rape. The Judicial system must also wake up, wash its face and buckle up to the onerous task of dispensing justices to the rape victims", Daniels, who is also a screen goddess, added. To get the country back on the path of righteousness, Miss Daniels urged Nigerians to go to God in prayers, "to seek God's mercy for the many atrocities committed on this land". https://www.idomavoice.com/2020/06/rape-benue-beauty-queen-ene-daniels-launches-give-her-pen-not-penis-campaign.html

As part of activities to mark his birthday anniversary, Dr. Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, on Thursday, distributed food items, toiletries, clothing and others items to orphanages and the less-priviledged. The cleric was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, at the Glory Dome in a brief prayer to mark his birthday. IDOMA VOICE recalls that the ministry had distributed palliatives four times to its members and other people irrespective of religion during the total lockdown in the nation's capital to cushion the effects of the pandemic on the people. Speaking at the low-key ceremony, Dr. Enenche said the church was not unaware of the hardship in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic. He, however, said the church would continue to reach out to people as the Lord empowers them. "This is not a showoff, but a practical demonstration of what Jesus Christ said. He had instructed us to let our light shine before men that they might see our good work and glorify our father who is in heaven. "We bless God for a day like this and we pray to see more of it in Jesus name." In her brief address, Dr. Mrs. Enenche said the outreach was the fifth time within the last two months. She described Thursday's outreach ministration as special because it coincides with the Dr. Enenche's day. "Like the senior pastor earlier said, this is not a showoff or to prove any point. It is part of our efforts to reach out to orphanages and the less-privileged as we have been doing. "This is about the fifth time we will be doing this. Today is special because it is Daddy's birthday. We pray God to continue to strengthen him. As his days are, so shall his strength be. "We use him as a point of contact to anyone celebrating his birthday today that the Lord would bless and keep you. He would make his face to shine upon you." One of the Orphanages heads a Reverend Father and another a Catholic nun who accompanied some children from their orphanage homes were in appreciation of the love that cuts across classes, denominations and races. Among the items donates were, bags of rice, clothing items, noodles, vegetable oil and beans, fish, yams and many other items. "This appointment comes at a time when NECO confronts several challenges seeking to undermine its operations, including the tasks of repairing the integrity of the examination body, solving infrastructural and technological deficits as well as fulfilling expectations to improve the turnaround time of examination results", Rep. Kalu said. The Spokesman of the House of Representatives noted that, "working as a key player in several government committees and panels on education development in the country, Professor Obioma has contributed immensely in formulating education policies in Nigeria in the last two decades with a record of achievements too vast to enumerate". Aside being the immediate past Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Obioma had also made great impacts in education research and other notable agencies, both local and foreign. "He has served as the Chairman of Nigeria Education Roadmap of the Federal Ministry of Education and Executive Secretary, Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council. "Internationally, he has consulted for UNESCO, UNDP, WORLD BANK, DFID and UNICEF, having served in various delegate and leadership roles including President of UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE); Member, International Experts Meeting on Key Curricular and Learning Issues in the Post 2015 Education and Development Agenda held in Geneva; and Member Nigerian Delegation to the adoption of the SDG in Education in 2014 in Nakoya Japan", Rep. Kalu noted. Kalu said, Obioma's new responsibility was an intricate dance which will require the innovativeness and insight of a leadership possessing extensive local and international experience. He stressed that, "Prof. Obioma’s breadth of experience, his wealth of academic achievements, as well as his far-reaching contributions to education policy reforms in national and global contexts immediately distinguish him as the right fit for the job- the square peg in a square hole". He described Prof. Obioma as "a distinguished product of Abia State" who "has spearheaded a number of policy reforms and institutional changes in Nigeria’s educational curriculum including; the 9-year Basic Education Curriculum, the Senior Secondary Education Curriculum, the 34 Senior Secondary Entrepreneur/Trade subjects, the 2014 Edition of the National Policy on Education, among others". "It is therefore with unreserved delight that myself and several other leaders of Abia State in Abuja, across party lines, express our support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s wisdom in appointing Prof. Obioma to lead the new and improved NECO, even as we prepare to host a reception event for the new Registrar/CEO in the coming days", the statement concluded.

As part of their continued efforts to support the fight against the scourge of coronavirus in the country, the Senior Pastors of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, on Friday visited the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada. The clerics donated medical and food items on behalf of the church to the hospital for COVID-19 patients. IDOMA VOICE recalls that barely two weeks ago, the church donated food items to people for the fourth time irrespective of denomination or religion, to cushion the effect of the lockdown on the people. Speaking during the outreach on Friday, Pastor Enenche, a trained medical doctor, said the church would continue to support the government in its way to win the war against the coronavirus pandemic. Garbed in all white lab coats, the outspoken cleric lauded the medical team in the frontline of the fight against the virus for their relentless efforts. He also hailed the federal government for its efforts in curtailing the diseases. Dr. Enenche said, from record available before him, the FCT Isolation Centre had so far confirmed 447 cases, with 307 active cases and had successfully treated and discharged 133 cases with 7 deaths. “With the above record, we can see that 133 patients have been treated, tested negative and discharged successfully, that shows that coronavirus is not a death sentence as many people out there think. We need to kill that fear. “We must commend the medical team working round the clock at the isolation centres taking care of patients. It is not an easy task. “We also acknowledge the government for doing its best to curtail the further spread of the virus. We pray that the virus would soon be wiped out. “That is why we are here to join the fight against the pandemic. We will continue to give our support to this war against humanity and we believe strongly that victory is ours.” They were received by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Prof. Bisalla A. Ekele, the CMAC, Dr Nicholas Bamlong and other top management staff. The CMD hailed the church for their donation. He noted that Dunamis was the only religious organization that has visited the hospital since the coronavirus was confirmed in the FCT. He called on other religious bodies and good-spirited Nigerians to join the fight against coronavirus. Also speaking during the outreach, Dr. Becky Enenche, urged those still living with the virus not to give up, saying that the Lord would stretch his hands of healing upon them.
