MyGeneration: Shutup talk what u know.
Do u think people go to places because they give a damn abt the indegenes as far as there's opportunities people would always endure.
North that has almost all Nigerian security assets and infrastructures is the region u are comparing to southeast a region that doesn't even have federal roads...
Tell us another story The problems with obviously biased and uninformed people is that they keep shifting the goal posts. My assertion is not about roads or security apparatus but orientation of peoples in different parts of Nigeria towards outsiders (non-indigenes). My observations; 1) Most Nigerians have reservations and sometimes resentments towards other Nigerians that are not from their ethnic groups to different degrees. 2) The Yorubas are liberal towards outsiders possibly due to longer periods of mixing with other ethnic groups which make up the present Nigeria long before 1914. The Oyo Empire, the transatlantic slave trade and later British Colonialism brought the Yorubas into contacts with so many other ethnic groups from far and near for centuries. 3) The Hausa-Fulani are religious and conservative people. The Sokoto Caliphate was already an amalgamation of so many different peoples united under the banner of Islam. In as much as Islamic cultures are not threatened by the outsiders or better still if the outsiders also practice the Islamic cultures, they embrace the outsiders well. 3) The Igbos seems to understand and trust their neighbours like Efik, Ibibio, Anang, Ijaw,Ogoni more than other Nigerians. They however have reservations about non-Igbos especially if these non-Igbos stand to share certain resources or privileges with them. This doesn't necessarily mean they hate the non-Igbos. |

Eriokanmi: Did CNN say otherwise? Was it not the video evidence which revealed those killed? Why are you guys behaving like this? Didn't you hear the parents of the victims grant press interviews? Google is your friend. Was it not CNN who unravelled all the lies told by the govt, from...ooh, I didn't send military to lekki, as claimed by liar sanwoolu to, we didn't go to lekki as claimed by the military, to we didn't shoot them we only shot in the air, we didn't go with live ammunition, we only went with 15% of live ammunition and the rear was rubber bullets, to it was hoodlums in military uniform invaded kekki as mentioned by malami the Attorney-General despite the military's revelation, etc.
They've started their lies again. They said those killed in zabamari were boko haram informants and not farmers. The killing along kaduna abuja expressway in which scores were killed by bandits last week had been called a hoax already. The same liar govt said it was caused by burst tyres and not by bandits. Yesterday, I read in the newspapers that the over 400 students abducted in katsina was a lie, as alleged by the police. No wonder Nigeria isn't moving forward God isn't happy. Our govt are liars, playing with human lives. Judgement awaits all of them. Please stick to one issue at a time. There was nothing new in the CNN documentary. All what were shown were just a collection of videos already circulating in the social media and no where did they show corpses being carried by D.J Swith and others to the Army Trucks or the Military taking away the corpses. In any case, I think the CNN can help to substantiate their claims by testifying at the Tribunal. |

Politics › Re: WIKE SHOT Himself(own Goal) by oyatz(m): 8:30am On Dec 13, 2020 |
gidgiddy: Yes Rivers state was created in 1967, but from what was it created? This area you are today calling Rivers State was land taken from 5 provinces, Portharcourt province, Yenagoa province, Degema province, Owerri province and Aba province
Places like Egbema and Etche used to be in Owerri province. Obigbo was in Aba province which eventually became part of Imo state. In 1976, there was a boundary adjustment which saw Obigbo removed from Imo state and put in Rivers state then renamed "Oyigbo"
Some people think Rivers state just dropped out of the sky but the reality is that Rivers state was was created out of land stolen from 5 provinces and two of those provinces, Owerri and Aba, are Igbo provinces.
Someday, we Igbos are going to ask for our land back and that means that Egbema, Obigbo, Etche, Omuma amongst others are returning back to us. Provinces, just like modern States are NOT ethnic homelands but units of administrations created by the British Colonial Government. Owerri Province didn't mean that all the lands in the province belonged to Owerri or that all the people in the Province were Owerri people. This is very similar to Enugu State where all the lands in the State are not necessarily Enugu lands. However if IPOB and their sympathizers feel that the boundaries of Rivers State have been tampered with or there is encroachment into Imo or Abia States, 1) they can approach the National Boundaries Commission to look into it by urging the affected STATES to lodge complaints. 2) If some communities in Rivers State want to leave Rivers and be merged with Imo, they can petition the National Assembly through their Representatives. It should however be noted that IPOB which is neither a State nor elected Representatives of the people concerned lack the locus standing to institute these changes. |

Kinematics: States are created from places. When Rivers was created, east central state and south east state were created as well. All the boundaries were carefully marked.
Lands were taken from several provinces to make several states not only in then Eastern region, but same was done in other regions as well.
Why are ibos still crying and wailing over this? When land was being demarcated everyone was in the know of what it is. Years later Imo was created and thieves from their wanted to lump Rivers land to their phantom Imo state, only for NBC to step in and settle matter.
Note that there was never a time that Oyigbo was in Abia/Imo state. Never. Oyigbo was from 1967 in Rivers, just a portion of the area was in contest until the place was given a natural body as the boundary which is Imo River. Thanks for shedding light on this matter. Was there any time that the name of the town was changed from Obigbo to Oyigbo? |

They were criterias used then to be a presido them in Zaria. We had not so many northerners in the 80s when Melaye gained admission. The northerners then were few and not so interested in school politics. The few who were interested weren't all that sound academically. My friend stop shifting goal posts. There are so many more non-indigenes in the North, from Academia to Traders to Civil servants than in the S/East and their societies bare more welcoming bto outsiders than Igbo societies. Their major problem is Islamic Extremism! I am NOT abusing the Igbos but stating my clear observations about different parts of Nigeria. I am a very liberal person who believes that we can NOT all think and act alike, so I welcome differences in our receptions to outsiders. However I strongly object to your insinuations that all parts of Nigeria view and respond to non-indigenes in the same ways. |

Eriokanmi: Iranu! What an impudence on the part of these yeye people? What do they take CNN for? Sanwoolu who speaks from both sides of his mouth?...or our military who killed the police team that arrested wadume the terrorist and letting him go after cutting off his handcuffs at the barracks? Or the same military who claimed they've killed shekau more than 4 times now but same shekau keeps mocking them on dated videos? Or does our government think cnn was Malami, the shameless Attorney-General who said those who invaded lekki and shot at those innocent, unarmed and peaceful protesters were hoodlums in military uniform, despite the gory scenes and military confession that they invaded lekki?
The greatest mistake our government made was that, they put people who are relics of a lost age like lai Muhammed in such key positions in government, someone who can't operate an ordinary laptop. The CNN, BBC and Aljazeera who covered the lekki protests from the beginning were using drones to cover the events whilst the reporters covertly stayed aside, gathering information. They're still wondering why and how they got those video proofs on lekki shooting . This is why we must join hands in sacking all of them come 2023. They've overstayed their welcome already. We need to take our country back and move her forward. Enough is enough And the drones could not record the bodies of 38 Protesters which CNN initially tweeted were allegedly killed by the Army? Their drone recording couldn't record the corpses being carried away by DJ Switch and others to the Military trucks? |

gidgiddy: When we talk about Rivers state, lets not forget that Igbos are indigenous to at least 4 LGA's in that state. Obigbo indigenes are Igbos and Obigbo used to be in Imo state before it was carved into Rivers state in 1976 and renamed 'Oyigbo'
Etches of Etche LGA are Igbos
Egbema people of Egbema Ndoni LGA are Igbos, infact, half of Egbema is in Imo state in Ohaji- Egbema LGA
Omuma are Igbos.
What many people dont seem to understand is that the population of Rivers was not that big, so they carved areas of old Aba and Owerri provinces such as Egbema, Obigbo and Etche out to create Rivers state
It is very unfortunate that Wike chose to display hus stupidity for the world by no knowing that at least 4 Local Governments in Rivers are home to indigenous Igbos Okay, you are right. Below is your people protesting against a non indegene despite the fact that he is yoruba. I wonder what u people gain from living a life of double standards.
You guys are over tribalistic, it's hard to see a yoruba man in a non yoruba church but their Churches are everywhere. But if igbo man do am igbos are the bad people Mind you, it am NOT abusing igbos or really condemning them. I am just stating my observation. We don't all have to think alike but I notice that for the Hausa-Fulani, they don't care much especially if the non-indigenes are Muslims. It's not just about Abia, it common through the S/East. It's difficult to see non-indigenes that get to privileged positions in the S/East. Prostesing against Political appointment for an individual plum into inconsequences compared to several thousands of non-indigenes in top civil service, elective and appointive posts outside their home States in Yorubaland. There are thousands of Yorubas in TREM, Catholic, Omega Ministries , Izala, Shia Muslims and several religious sects. |

Sanchez01: Well, true. Branding as a result of what you eat isn't a crime.
I know for a fact that the Yorubas refer to Igbo folks as 'Aj'okuta ma m'omi' (One who eats stone without drinking water - Origin: The Igbo Akpu is stronger and stone-like compared to the typical Yoruba fufu' and then there is 'Ndi ofe mmanu' (Oil soup eater - Origin: The Yorubas obviously fancy palm oil to vegetable oil and they use it in abundance when cooking).
Where I'm from, we have a name for the Yorubas, Hausas and Igbos based on obvious habits. Regardless, the scenario is a bit different when 'Inyamuri' is compared with all other aforementioned names. There is a sad story to the name the earliest people who branded the names on the Igbo people did so out of spite and ridicule. While the average Northerner might not understand that it is derogatory, using the same in a body of work even though the song is non provocative is a huge miss. Research should be the foundation of every creative works. Where do you see Yorubas calling Igbos 'Aje okuta ma mumi'? The name is too long and I have never seen a Yorubaman calling anyone that name. Yorubas call Igbos 'Igbo' or simply omo-Ibo. |

Yoruba is an ethnic group. 'Northerners' is just an appellation that group hundreds of ethnic groups together. It would have made sense if you had said if Fulani voters will vote for a Yoruba candidate ahead of a fellow Fulani candidate. There are many tribes in the North that won't vote for another Fulani candidate to succeed Buhari, a very nepotic Fulani leader. |

Suddenly, her phone rang, she rushed back into her office to pick it and by the time she went out again to see her friend passing by, the friend has left. The following day, I went to her house, only to see her saddened and I asked what happened. She narrated that she just received news that her friend who she saw on Friday passing by and wanted to accost him had actually died on Thursday! It's so annoying see young Nigerians who write simple sentences full of grammatical blunders and are still claiming that Buhari who retired as a Major General is an illiterate.
