What happened in Lagos will probably be magnified to the entire country and what is happening in Lagos is complete trash and suppress of power and true potential of the state just to retain power and control. Neway, its not like my small view matters after all, Noah and Christ did more in their days and men still didn't listen.

My prayer is that, by then, I won't be limited to this country fully. I would have had options by then.

Bros, support your candidate whose morality is at par with that of Angel Gabriel and leave Tinubu alone to aspire for the presidency of his country.

Because of the ways presidents are elected in Nigeria and because of the ways our democracy emerged, it's very difficult for a minority party to win presidential election in Nigeria.

A minority party is a party that doesn't have a majority of the House of Assemblies seats, Governorship seats, House of Reps seats and Senatorial Seats.

A party doesn't win the presidential election suddenly (they win gradually) and doesn't win the presidential election in isolation (they have to win the majority in other elections)

If there's no fractionalizations of the APC and the party goes into the election as one strong family, they stand a great chance to win the presidential election, even if Tinubu is the candidate.

You just corroborated my points.

1) There is an household party in every State. The APC won the presidential election in Sokoto, Bauchi and nearly won in Adamawa States.
At the State level, the PDP was able to win the Governorship elections in those States because certain political heavyweights in those States decamped from the APC to the PDP (Govs Tambuwal & Ahmadu Fintiri, Atiku Abubakar etc).

2) All politics is local. Multiplicity of factors played key roles in these elections .


3)There are good candidates in Labour,APGA,SDP and other parties in these States but these parties didn't win a single seat (not even in a ward) because these parties don't have strong structures in these States and the so-called Abokis know the differences

However, the city has expanded into other areas that fall within Urbobo and Ijaw territories but the original Warri town was built on Itsekiri land.
The colonial masters recognized the Itshekiri king as the Lord of Warri.

You see, there are different reasons why people vote for a particular candidate.

For non party members like you, the Psychological/emotional pride of having a person from your region as president may be enough reason.

However for real politicians and card carrying members of political parties, having someone from their region is not enough reason to canvass for votes for such a candidate.

What will they gain if their party candidates win Vs what will they gain if an opposition candidate win?

If the APC didn't win the 2015 presidential election, their membership and structures would have fizzled away since.

Winning the presidential election comes with benefits to the party members from top to down.

Forget about sentiments, most Nigerians are in political parties for what they will gain and not necessarily because of benefits of their regional pride.

Aboki sure know parties,this is why Politicians in the core North also change parties and this reflect in the outcomes of electoral contests.


By 2015, significant PDP heavy weight politicians have decamped to the APC which have become the new household party in the North.

There are several reasons why voters vote for a particular candidate/party but you wrongly assume that regional solidarity is the only factor.


In anycase, NIgerian Democracy will be more matured by testing the veracity of several myths like this.

This is one of the reasons i support Tinubu to run for the presidency.
