The Igbo candidates in each party can lobby their party's hierrachies to support them but it will be very difficult to force all parties to present only Igbo candidates in any Election. In 1999, the PDP which had 'Zoning' in it's constitution zoned it's ticket to the SOUTH (not S/West in particular), accordingly the following presidential aspirants slugged it out in the 1999 PDP Jos Convention, Gen Olusegun Obasanjo Dr Alex Ekueme Chief Jim Nwobodo Dr Phillips Asiodu Chief Don Etiebet Graham-Douglass. The APP and AD went to an alliance such that the AD produced Olu Falae as the Presidential candidate and APP produced Mallam Umaru Shinkafi as the Vice presidential candidate. Deepthoughts: pls go back n read my write up carefully, then you will discover the similarities in our views but while mine is out of national harmony considerations, yours is simply out of your worship for buhari, everyone must not support buhari, who has buhari ever supported himself?,the goodness of the nation is far superior to the very false claims of buhari's righteousness, I'm not a fan of buhari either. |

Buhari may support an Igbo candidate in 2023 just to prove his critics wrong. There is nobody that God can not change. Deepthoughts: I'm not igbo but a Christian minority from the middle belt, well it's really up to the igbos identify n correct their political blunders n forge a common front, but for complete national healing, equity, fairness n federal character personally I would want a situation where both parties i.e Apc n pdp will both zone their candidacy to the SE to avoid further rancor n subsequently more division of the country along our fault lines. The igbos should have stood firmly for the north to complete their second tenure in 2011 after the Demise of yar'adua so that 2015 would have been theirs for taking but lack of political foresight made them to loss a good opportunity, when Apc was formed n the SE were invited to join, okorochas greed prevented the igbos from joining as strong unit under a concrete political arrangement, they didn't vote massively for pdp in 2015,they have remained in disarray since then, come 2023 it will be very difficult for Tinubu n his gang to concede to the SE n buhari doesn't look like someone interested in true national healing to be concern about the igbo political question n plight so it's either there igbos try n convince the nation to concede the presidency to them in 2023 or to go into alliance with the NE, NC n SS under a strong political arrangement as the SW n NW are very likely to be on the same side or to just resign to fate n wait for eternity. |

There are alot of sense in your write up. However, Igbo politicians seems not to be interested in running for the Presidency in 2023 and some Igbo politicians (including most Igbo youths online) are saying they prefer that Igbos should vote and support Atiku or Tambuwal in 2023 with the hope of neutralizing Tinubu or anybody coming out from the S/West. I hope you know that you can't be president if you don't contest for it? Who do you blame for this sir? Deepthoughts: shehu sani is not been sincere here perhaps he is eyeing political resurgence in 2023 n feels an alliance with the SW will serve him better hence this statement by him,but if truly fairness equity n federal character is to be strictly applied then the SE deserves the presidency come 2023,all the talk of ipob,Biafra etc from elements in SE will certainly varnish for good if n when the SE gets n complete their presidential term just the same way NADECO,RADIO KUDIRAT N JUNE12 varnished after 1999,the SE stands to loose more if Nigeria descends into chaos due to their widespread investments in the country so I believe the SE never intends to cause any problem for the country, all the noise is just about a cry for justice, it's however true that the igbos have committed lot of political blunders in the past but who is perfect?. |

Stop saying what you don't know. Only 5 LGAs (less than 10% of Lagos State) was Federal Capital. Ikeja, Mushin, Shomolu, Ajeromi/Ifelodun etc were never part of the Federal capital just like only Enugu city was ever Capital of Eastern Region and not the whole of Enugu State. franchasng: What kind of nonsense comparison are you trying to make
Lagos has been the capital city of Nigeria since 1960 after it was moved from Calabar. This means Lagos enjoyed federal government development just like Abuja today. Can any Abuja Mayor claim he built or developed Abuja to what it is today 90% of developments in Abuja is built by Federal Government. and mind you, Abuja became Nigeria's capital from 1991 december, now compare it with Lagos that became the capital city of Nigeria from 1914 january.
It is Federal government of Nigeria that built all the magnificent structures you see in Lagos today, quote me anywhere any day any time.
Name the structures Tinubu built in Lagos, name one if not planting flowers, building roundabouts and brt lanes, what else can Tinubu + Fashola + Ambode boast of as their developmental achievement in Lagos since democracy kicked off in 1999
3rd Mainland bridge and most bridges linking Lagos cities were built by federal government of Nigeria under the military government, and most of these structures are dilapidated before your own eyes without Lagos government being able to even maintain them.
Go round Lagos, most inter city roads are gone....Lagos have no road again.
The only laudable project started by Lagos is the Badagry railway to west africa which has been lingering since 2007...
The developments you see in Lagos are built by private organizations and individuals who reside in Lagos and have their investments in Lagos...Lagos is dying and going back due to Tinubu's grip and greed, kiss the truth |

Democracy is a journey and not a destination. Democracy hasn't been practiced for long in this country and many people have weaved so many myths around simple democratic excercises like elections in this Country. If we had practiced unbroken Democracy since 1960, by now it would have been cleared to all that any Nigerian citizen can be president and can defeat any citizen from any part of the Country. It will eventually happen, it's a question of time. Fortunately, anything that has happened before is no longer an impossibility! Ziggylady: No one is interested in these history lessons narrated and seen from your myopic prisms..least of all me...Too much has gone down btwn then and now yet you cant see that.
If you are in-tune with happenings, you would have known that the Obasanjo and Jonathan Administrations did the Northern elites in which has seen them vowing not to let power slip from their fingers AGAIN.
There is no reason why they would leave theirs and vote yours when yorubas too had their 8yr stint with OBJ...If you have the audacity to want power in 2023,so do they...You do not have two heads.
Besides, their suffocating bias towards the atrociious deeds of Fulani Herdsmen NOW should tell you whats up not Abiola/Tofa anomaly 27trs ago!
Read and ask around instead of basking in this delusions of grandeur...Every notable Northerner so far has insinuated or out-rightly spoken in favour of the North retaining power post-buhari,yet you are hell bent on going with what the voices in your head are telling you. |

Archeological excavations in the Middle East has brought out 3000 year old Assyrian, Babylonian, Akkadian and Moabites priestess and goddesses wearing Hijabs. The Hijab is a mode of Dressing of Women in the Middle East and it definitely predated the advent of Islam... it's more of cultural than religious outfits. Printerscanner: Hijab is Arab culture which has been fused into Islam. God said women should preserve, reserve and cover themselves for their own dignity. God did not say that women should dress like Ijebu Masquerades. The Arabs have been covering their females like masquerades even before our Prophet was born, I think it is because they are in the desert where winds blow sand a lot.
