Very wrong assumptions. The Government rely heavily von the sales of crude oil but NOT majority of the citizens. Even with maximal oil sales, majority of the people in Taraba, Jigawa, Kebbi or Zamfara don't benefit much. Only educated elites seriously benefit from Government in the North divinehand2003: Back in the 1960s to 1980, I know that they relied heavily on agriculture as the main source of revenue. Times have changed. Yes the landmass is still there in the north, but nobody does largescale farming anymore. We consume mostly imported food nowadays. We now rely heavily on crude oil as our main source of GDP. IF RESTRUCTURING is permitted now, the north will suffer. |

Although I don't know the roles played by Prof CC Moujekwu but what I know about Biafra , including it's establishment, the war and it's administration is that they love to look for scapegoats to blame! Sometimes it's Awolowo, sometimes it's Gowon, Victor Banjo and sometimes they blame Nigeria, Britain, Hausa-Fulani, Yoruba and everybody else but they don't blame themselves!
1) I seriously doubt if the Biafran Authority consulted widely with their wise Ststemen and use their wise counsel. 2) Most Biafran enthusiasts seems to have this notion that 'Biafra is part of Nigeria's responsibilities' and Nigeria should have done everything necessary to let Biafran seccession succeed or at least Nigeria shouldn't have done anything that can prevent the success of the Biafran succession.
3) Because of this notion, it appears the Biafrans did envisage the possibility of Nigeria not cooperating as they wished and thus the Biafrans didn't make serious PLAN-B.

1) Zoning of the presidency is in the Constitution of the PDP but not in the NOT in the Constitution of Nigeria or APC. Rotational presidency between the North and South or between the 6 Geo-political zones or between all the tribes of Nigeria? 2) The North or anyother part of Nigeria is heterogeneous and have those who will definitely vote for an Igbo candidate. The onus lies on the Igbo candidates to increase this numbers. 3) By the way, why do some Igbos have this defeatist mentality that other Nigerians will not vote for them? Whose fault is this? Can't the Igbos improve their approval ratings? EagleNest: What happened to rotation of presidency?
Like I said historic mistrust will not allow this to happen regardless of party and the North doesn't even hide it.
Let Igbo man by mistake become a flag bearer in APC or PDP for instance, the North will align to another party with northern or western candidate and could may be tell us "rotation of presidency" is not binding to anyone which is correct. So theoretically you are right to say what you said, but practically it is a mirage. |

I am supposed to be in church now but this post keep cracking my ribs on the bed. Guy you funny gan o NwaAmaikpe:

Seconded.
Tuface Idibia the coward lost all national and international relevance after he chickened out on his Enough is Enough Nigeria rally.
He hasn't won a single foreign award since that cold evening of 4th February 2017 when he traded his manhood for the opportunity to sleep on the same bed with Annie.
A rare opportunity to put his name amongst continental greats like Patrice Lumumba, Steven Biko and Thomas Sankara. I have never purchased any of his songs after that day.
Unlike Tuface, Charlie Boy had the preek to stand up to the government but lacked the balls to withstand their money. Like Judas Iscariot, his greased palms made him forget his megaphone by the Unity fountain as he rode his powerbike back to Gbagada then to Oguta to enjoy his loot in peace.
Sadly, Eedris is a potential hybrid of Tuface and Charlie Boy while Yele is an impostor.
If Nigeria will ever have a revolution, it will start and end on the social media because this life is too 'sweet' to come and die for your neighbor. |

You don't seems to get it uptil now. The problem is NOT the North or the S/West but the people that want to be president. Nobody will call anyone and hand over the presidency to them just like that! For now, only the APC and the PDP have strong structures and wide acceptability to win the Presidential election. The Igbo politicians in these two parties aren't aspiring to be the presidential candidates of their parties,so how can they become president in 2023 and whose fault? The Igbo political class have formidable investment in the PDP but they are not mounting pressure on the party to consider them for the ticket come 2023 rather they spend their time and energy (like Sambalat and Tobiahs in the Bible) on how to prevent Tinubu or any other candidate from the SW from emerging the President in 2023. EagleNest: For the example you cited, I hope you understand the history behind Germany, Britain and America becoming a nation, in their own merits and terms. It is based on a mutual agreement and not by fiat. Britain forced us together and gave us a name which we bear up till now.
Talking about Britain, have you idea it comprised of mini nations within a big nation with greater power of autonomy for each of them. They evolved a system that works for them. They built it.
One of our greatest undoing as a people is pretending that Nigeria is working or has worked. And sorry, in this modern age of reasoning, no one or entity wants to be taken for a ride, even in the so called UK today, there is still agitation for secession up till last week.
No one is blackmailing others as you allege except that when equity and justice becomes an illusion, what do you do? Pretend? Play along? or Simply walk out? Not every culture knows how to pretend or play along waiting for the right time to strike. It is easy to say that you lobby politically to go to the centre but who exactly do you lobby? Is it the North or the South West? Do you sincerely trust an Igbo man to be at the saddle considering all the mud slings, mutual suspicions and mistrust of many decades. You don't honestly want an Igbo man's leadership, but you somewhat want them to accept their fate and work it out somehow. Of course, they will prefer to work it out in their own way but that too you are uncomfortable!
Will this forced marriage still last with all these cracks? I sincerely doubt! It's been so messy lately. Is being Nigerian president, the Igbos utmost need? I will say, naah! They've all these while survived on their own, and their dignity still intact. So may be something different will appeal or catch interest.
Let's hope Nigeria doesn't break but that hope is strongly premised on attitude of today's President to Nigerians, especially the ones that critiques him. |
