THERE IS AN UNHEALTHY COMPETITION AMONG STATES AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR SUPREMACY OF AUTHORITY as far as lockdown matter is concerned.

Federal government imposed that authority and states counter it with curfew and other forms of authority.

In America, there is meeting point and agreement is struck with mutual understanding with both state and the federal government in Washington dc at choosing the best way forward for implementation.

But this is not so with Nigeria where we have Buhari as President who is a northern far right leader and his anti-restructuring and anti-south ideology.

Buhari just do what he likes without adherence to the constitutions.

Some governors have become DICTATORS due to covid 19.

They have even forgot what they were originally elected to do.

Society is robbing people, especially young people of a lot of things.
1. Choice:The choice to be single, to not be on social media, to be a nerd, to get high and marvel Diotima's ladder of love or to be an atheist. Society robs the youth from thinking, from questioning women at the bus stops who are passing out Jesus flyers or who want you to attend NASFAT about them briefly explaining platonism and via Socrates dialectic method, opening their eyes. Faith is the new lust. Society wants everyone, not just the youths, not just introverts alone, to bow down, to give in to their demands.

2. Being ourselves. We are scared to have an opinion because if you are a Trump supporter for example, you are automatically a racist bigot. We are scared to end up on the losing side. We are scared to take opportunity because being an opportunist is bad and it is better to be unnoticed according to society. To be the majority, to be like everyone else is safer. We must have a label on our head. She is a lesbian, he is gay, he is too feminine, she is too masculine. We judge and are afraid to be judged. We are passive aggressive. We are afraid to speak up. We are afraid of "no" and failure. We are afraid of living, just crossing off the days in the calendar, in anticipation of what? Death? Don't live like that bro.

3. Love. Our society is now fast food everywhere. In each aspect of it, food. It has to be fast. It has to be a drive thru. Love? Screw that. but why then are the teachers so keen about resuming fast when we still have a case here...don't u think the numbers of positive infected ones discovered at the moment, some of these teachers u are talking about are there , since no one will tell u they are infected (stigma)..if lessons are carried out by teachers at home , don't u think it's another way to reduce the infections..as an adult going out, I know I'm suppose to protect myself by covering up properly (mask,long sleeves shirt , keep my distance in the bus, sneeze or cough and I jump out of the bus lol or rather run jump away if I'm walking and someone cough or sneeze ) ..the precautions given are if feeling terribly sick just stay indoors and away from others...so many people dey die now, who knows what's going on since our health system is messed and not capable enough , it's better we wait a Lil time or we wait forever if we can't just keep calm,pray,watch till this pandemic is over..may we all see each other at the end of this pandemic and congratulate ourselves for making it through..once again stay safe sis/bro

What if any teacher who is infected too passes it on to other teachers, do we want to start losing teachers to this virus? Are these people really thinking properly sef...how can parents afford school bills at the moment, no palliatives to keep their belly running sef, If the government wants to open school then they should be ready to sort bills as well but I'm very sure no parents is ready to lose their children at all..some places in Germany who reopened recently are currently going on total lockdown again due to re-infection...let parents take up the responsibility of studying with their kids for now till the Virus is under our feet...no need for the rush, lives are at risk

It amazes me that a high number of Nigerians still believe that COVID-19 is a scam. Scam that has killed Abba Kyari, Maikanti Baru, President of Burundi, Tinubu's ADC and now Senator Osinowo. Scam that has almost killed Nasir El-Rufai, Governor Ikpeazu, and now Senator Ajimobi. Will all these notable people willingly sacrifice their lives for the so called financial benefit from Covid 19? Logic requires that if it is a scam, then these guys must have been willing participants in the hoax.

These dumb set of Nigerians keep screaming that COVID 19 is actually Malaria. Ho Ho, Malaria that did not kill Kyari all these years he has been having malaria. Since when did Malaria start resulting in respiratory distress which is what is killing off all these people?

Every person in Nigeria tends to have malaria at least once in a year. That is about 200million cases annually. Death toll is often up to 1million a year, meaning 0.5 percent death rate. If COVID 19 were to infect all 200million Nigerians like malaria, there will be between 2 - 4 million deaths (@ 1 - 2% death rate). Is that not enough for people to take this serious?

And then, these idiots go on to say that why don't they know someone who knows someone who has it or some shit like that. Really?? They tell me that Malaria has been killing over EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND people in Nigeria ANNUALLY. Yet in my over thirty years of existence in Nigeria, I have NEVER come across someone who died from Malaria. How much more COVID 19 whose documented casualty in Nigeria is still less than 500, while infections are still in the tens of thousands.

A close family member of mine contracted COVID and recovered. I did not have to wait until she contracted it before I believed in its realness.

I am sorry if you feel insulted by my comment, but if you are not taking precautions about something that can kill you or your loved ones, then the insult is a wake-up call that is perfectly in order.
