The issue of who you choose for next of kin depends on the circumstances in and within the family. For instance if you have a good wife or husband who actually know what to do when you are not there of cause she should be put as the next of kin. But if otherwise, like you have a wife or husband who is promiscuous who would collect the money and be duped by the men she has outside or even the man would go and marry another wife leaving the children to suffer, in that case you put your first child as the next of kin. In most cases you can split it 80/20 for your wife and brother or grown up son if you have an aged parents reason being that if the 100% is given to your wife and you have an aged parents she may feel non-challant to see to their welfare though we would outlive our parents by God"s grace. So it depends on the circumstances around you and the attitude of your spouse. If you also notice that your second child would care for his or her siblings better than the first child you can split it 50/50 hence you can not allocate higher percentage to the second child while the first child to avoid rancor amongst them . So on and so forth
