Yes i did. What is the definition of a strong worded statement and why does it have to come from Buhari? He's already talked about and against it BTW. i don't think these people are on Nairaland or Twitter, neither do they gather to watch news.
What did he say about it? Please include reference(s)

When it comes from him it carries weight. He's the president and commander-in-chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. A strongly worded statement is something you say to someone when he's misbehaving with the intent to provoke change. It said such a way that the recipient(s) knows you mean what you said. It's clear and leaves no room for ambiguity.

Did bill leave you with the impression that the FG will negotiate with the Land Owners and pay whatever price agreed? Does it leave room for the owner to decide not to sell?

i also hope that arrests and prosecutions continue of all unlawful people fomenting trouble in various parts of the country. You refer to knocking off feelings of entitlement by words? i do not think words are enough. They have been talking to these people for as long as i can remember. Even, i do not know how true the account is, but i heard that Buhari himself was involved in some dispute settling for them in Oyo State some years back. Anyone who knows these people know that they do not reason like us all and they are not learned. Some will even say that they behave and live like animals. You can't apply the same solutions to such people as you would apply to learned people. And of course you don't just go shooting them all or arresting them all. It's a live and let live situation, and the approach proposed by the FG is very good. Talk to them and ACT by provision of paths or grazing areas where they should use. These areas will be paid for, not snatched from anybody. It becomes Federal property and creates jobs of course. The herdsmen are easily monitored that way, and the line of defaulting is CLEARER.
I never said words alone would suffice. I said in word and in action. By words I do not mean pleas but strong-worded statement coming from the President himself. @bolded Did you read the contents of the Grazing bill?

Career25 Highest Paying Companies In America By Glassdoor by P0intBlank(op): 7:17pm On Apr 21, 2016
Basically, if you work for one of these 25 companies, you’re going to pull in a six-figure salary and probably some pretty nice perks, although the report doesn’t look at that. So let’s dive in and see where – and how – employees are making the substantial money this year.

Where did Glassdoor get this information? From "salary reports at companies in which employees have anonymously and voluntarily shared both their base pay and other forms of compensation (i.e. commissions, tips, bonuses, etc.) over the past year."
The Highest Paying Companies

Out of the 25 companies on Glassdoor’s list, 20 are in the technology sector. So if your skills rank high on the geek scale, you could end up living out what your classmates may have said about you in high school: “One day we’ll probably be working for her anyway.”

The top-paying company on the list isn’t a technology firm; it’s a consulting business. A.T. Kearney pays a median salary of $143,620. Add in bonuses, and somebody at the middle of the pay scale can plan to make $167,534 (median means half the employees make more than that). The second highest is also a consulting company, Strategy&, which has a total median salary and bonuses of $160,000. Coming in third for the same total compensation calculation is a technology company, Juniper Networks, which pays $157,000. Consultants McKinsey & Company come in fourth, with $155,000.

Google is fifth on the list, with median total compensation of $153,750, and we’ve all heard about the crazy amazing perks that come with a job there

How do you knock off feelings of entitlement? I've been reading recently that armed and guilty herdsman are arrested, they're not all guilty by the way. They've been part of us since time immemorial and we've always known that they "love" their cows. So, what's the solution?
Ofcourse, they are not all guilty. I already stated how it could be knocked off. Once it's made clear in words and action that the era of impunity is over, they'll chill. They need know Nigeria values humans more than cows. And that violent actions will incur grave consequences. They are the ones that should make the adjustment not Nigeria. Can't they do their business in peace and where they are conflicts engage dialogue?

P.S. The arrests should continue but they shouldn't stop there. Prosecution should follow. If they had be doing this it won't have gotten this bad.

You're wrong, but it will be good to hear your solution too. It's easy to criticize anything and everything, what's your idea or plan of solution please.
The solution is to knock off any feeling of entitlement they may have. The bad behaviour stems from the fact that they know they can misbehave and get away with it. The average Nigerian Citizen doesn't have a right to carry guns or dangerous weapons. Why should they (Herdsmen) have? Pipeline vandals destroyed pipes and have been branded terrorist (rightly so). These Herdsmen destroy lives and properties why shouldn't they be called terrorists? Rather the Government wants to reward their brash acts by giving them lands they didn't buy. Are the cattle owned by the government? Are they not private ventures? I doubt they even contribute to the economy by paying taxes.

First, all dangerous weapons should be seized. Any of them caught in possession of such weapons should be arrested. Next, the president should make a strong-worded statement that any violent herdsman will be treated as a terrorist henceforth. You'll see them behave

I laugh at the ignorance displayed by many emotionally clouded Nigerians who are against the grazing bill proposed for the Fulani cattle rearers in all states of the Federation. Let's remember that like every other Nigerians, the Fulani's have the right to live and do their business in any part of the country. It is their constitutional right as Nigerians to own grazing fields in any choice location of the country so far it is paid for or provided by the government. We ought to applaud the move made by the federal govt because it will help in ending the unnecessary violence between the Farmers and the Herdsmen. By provision of grazing fields, the fulani's will be restricted to graze on an apportioned land provided by the federal govt. It will be a crime for them to graze their cattles on people's farms once the bill is passed into law. We should not castigate every fulani herdmen as killers because of the few bad ones among them. The incidence in Agatu and other parts of the country were perpetuated by cattle rustlers and not Fulani herdsmen. Cattle rustlers are armed terrorist who steal cattles from herdsmen and graze them around the country as a cover up for their terrorist acts. The ordinary Fulani herdsmen are peaceful people and will never harm innocent Nigerians. The fulani's do not move around with weapons but sticks to guide their cattle. I observed most critics of this Bill are from the eastern part of the country. The igbos need to realize that the federal govt owns all the land and territories in Nigeria and it can decide on how it chooses to use every inch of its territory. The fulani's have every right to graze in the SE and there is nothing any one can do about it. It is their right as a Nigerian just like the igbos are the most travelled tribe doing business in every part of the country. We cannot decide to restrict all igbo traders to the east because of the attitude of few bad eggs amongst them likewise the Fulani's. Most Nigerians criticized the federal govt when they decide to create ranches and import grasses from Brazil to graze these cattles so the herder wont roam about. Now the FG is shifting plans to create a grazing site for the herders in every state which is not a bad move by all standards. We are one Nigeria and we must learn to tolerate ourselves and live in peace. We must shun the politics of hatred and tribalism. Lord Luggard saw the potentials in our diversity before merging us up to form this great country. We must not allow ethnicity to cloud our sense of judgement when the federal govt proposes law that will favour every Nigerian. We must support the grazing bill so the Fulani's can do their business in peace. BTW i am a Yoruba man from the SW. proudly Nigerian cool

Cattle rearing is a private business venture. It's not done on behalf of the Government. So like every other private venture if they want a land they should negotiate and pay for it.

P.S. Come to think of it, do these herdsmen even pay tax? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

It seems there is a deliberate attempt to erase the fact that life ever existed in such communities!!

I'm with you on this. Jesus himself said, "It is not what goes into the mouth of a man that defiles and dishonors him, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles and dishonors him" Matthew 15:11(AMP). The emphasis here should be moderation.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Not Sick” We Don’t Need IMF Loans – Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun by P0intBlank(m): 8:48am On Apr 17, 2016
hmuhammad:
The Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Legarde says the state of Nigeria’s economy is critical and requires proactive monetary, fiscal and structural policies to put it on the path of growth.

The IMF position during a media conference at the IMF WD spring meetings attracted the reaction of Nigeria’s Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun.

The Minister, said Nigeria will overcome its economic challenges without taking loan facility from the IMF.

She disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday. Adeosun made the observation at the ongoing Spring Meetings of the IMF-World Bank in Washington DC in response to why the government has refused to apply for IMF loans.

The statement quoted the minister as saying that Nigeria was adapting to its new realities by implementing fiscal policies to steer the country back on track for stable growth with a diversified economy.

Signed by the Special Adviser to the Minister on Media, Mr Festus Akanbi, the statement said the minister expressed optimism that sound fiscal policies and investments would boost Nigeria’s economy by 2017.

Adeosun insisted that what the country was passing through was surmountable because government was already applying a “cocktail of measures to address the problem.

“Nigeria is not sick. The real vulnerability in the Nigerian economy is over-dependence on a single source of revenue; oil.

“We have resolved to build resilience into the country’s economy to hedge against future oil shocks. This is because dependence on oil brings about vulnerability and laziness.

“So, we are doing a combination of things to diversify our economy, with revenue mobilisation to enable sufficient investment in developing the non-oil sectors.

“We have great opportunities to reset the Nigerian economy and ensure that as we go forward, growth will be in a sustainable manner so that we won’t be vulnerable to oil price fluctuations.’’

Adeosun said with a truly diversified economy the government would have enabled opportunities for wealth creation that would have flow down to every Nigerian.

She said that the compelling business case in Nigeria is that the fundamentals remain very strong, a teaming, young growing population, rich in resources and that the government of the day is determined to finally get it right.

She added that the long term investors recognise this and understand the difference between short term and long term issues and that the case for Nigeria persuades one to plan for the longer term opportunities

He said he is being chased by people

I asked what did he do

As he was still explaining, the people approached where we were and at that time I knew I needed to take an action either to save the man or release him to them.
So I opted for an option of saving him.
When the angry mob that were chasing the man came to me and asked if I saw anybody but I told them that I didn't see anyone.

My question is did I sin by lying to them that I didn't see anyone whereas I saw and hid the thief..

Mind you if I release the man to them, they will surely kill him..
And if I die in the process, will I go to hell despite the fact I wanted to save a soul.
This story sounds familiar. Hope it's not fabricated. However, note this: with God, the motive and attitude with which an act is carried out is more important than the act itself.

We can shout all day, have all the faith even as big as coconut, yet god would never grant us this simple miracle.

You can only help yourself. Science is the hope of mankind not god or religion.

God has never healed anyone else we would have at least seen cases of amputees being restored at least one in a year.

Wake up my people

Where is god! Oh! Where is god!
Where is the god of elijah that made water to burn! Can any man of god take up the challenge just like elijah challenged the prophets of baal? PM me if you are ready to challenge me
OP, I understand u. U want a miracle that can't be credited to chance. In my case, I have experienced an instant miracle so I know God is real. The sickness left one second after I took the communion. It's been 14years and I haven't had a reoccurrence. Unfortunately, I can't prove it to you. I can only hope u experience same. In the meantime, have a look at this video and let me have your feedback.

The lady did not support wizkid. She merely said fact.. Linda said something on ending wizkid career. It's a fact. When a woman merely walks into a market place and prices a product she will get a response. Let's not take sides. If Linda was in a more civilized society she would have become bankrupt.. Citing some major facts. She will be sued for public defamation of wizkid image. Also usage of other people contents. You think people like Linda would make money in a developed world. If you walk pass people without stepping on them you won't get a response. So this is not about someone's mother or aunty. This is about the truth. Both parties are childish. You throw the first JAB expect a return from your opponent
U don't misquote people and call it fact. Linda never promised to end anyone's career. She said, "Abeg, make I leave you alone before I mess up your career or image!". How is this a promise/threat?

I don't recall Linda ever threatening to end his career. She only said he was a liar.
