You're obviously behaving like a proper illiterate here.

Our amiable president, President Muhammadu Buhari only paid subsidy in 2015 plus the debt left behind by the Ineffectual Buffoon. In 2016, PMB has not paid a penny in subsidy. Again, read about it here http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/02/no-subsidy-paid-in-january-kachikwu/

Sahara reporters, your question is wrong: the price wasn't increased. Subsidy was removed. By the way, now is the best time for that; if the price went higher and Nigeria survived it, I think we can cope with this. Just that the money realised from its removal should be judiciously utilised.
Are you saying the subsidy being paid was N58.50 (i.e. 145 - 86.50)?

Just about a month ago, the subsidy per litre was around 9.09 naira, we had all been ready for the removal, hoping that it would land us at N100 at most.

How on earth did they start to consider N145?
is the president trying to scam nigerians after the bank deposit stamp duty of N50 naira per transaction was ignored?
Lord Have mercy!

www.vocalwalls.com
That was calculated with N197 to a dollar. The CBN will no longer provide these marketers with forex at the official rate. Do the calculation with the rate in the parallel market and see what you'll get.

Let's assume you are right, it's still shy of 140N. So where did the extra 5N come from?

Now considering the fact that the Marketers are only responsible for about 50% of the products, what now happens to the other 50% imported or refined or sourced by NNPC?

That means they'll be making over 45N per litre!!!

Truth be told, the Marketers will not sell @ 145,
Because when NNPC was selling @ 86 they sold for 130.
We should expect them to sell for something close to 200N since NNPC will be dispensing for about 145.

ThefakeStan
Lets do some rough calculation: @N197 Landing cost is N84.32 and N85.08 per litre for NNPC retail outlets and marketers respectively ;
@N320 Landing cost is N136.96 and N138.20 per litre for NNPC retail outlets and marketers respectively
Don't forget you'll still have to add the distribution margin, which include retailers, transportation, bridging fund(NNPC used to pay marketers for deliveries outside Lagos) and dealers margin. U get my drift?

hahahahahah! wishful thinking!!
Ain't wishful thinking. It's the sentiment shared by more and more Nigerians.

Last year, the generally feeling was anybody but Jonathan. I heard people say, "surely it couldn't be worse than this." However, the events of the last 12 months have made a lot of people reminisce on the GEJ era with feelings of nostalgia. They are beginning to think maybe he wasn't that bad.

As I write, I don't know of any campaign promise that has been kept. It's been denials and more denials. They were same ones that claimed that with the falling oil prices, PMS should be cheaper and promised to make it cheaper. We voted in Buhari to get positive change. Yet, the people are not even complaining that the country is not better but that he's made it worse than he met it. The longer it goes on the more it makes Gej look like a saint.

to those who can not compare and contrast facts. Why not juxtapose indexes of 4 years ago to today? Are you buying all other commoditties the prices of 2012 in 2016? Would you rather spend the whole of our $27b reserve on subsidy to some cabal who will still sell fuel at N150/l all in the name of being politically correct?
What you just said gives credence to my point. This was the same thing GEJ tried to do and he was criticised by d APC. With d APC in power, they can clearly see that it was the way to go. So with the aid of hindsight, I can infer Gej was right and the opposition was wrong.

The emphasis here is 'look'. Last year, the general feeling was anybody but Jonathan. I heard people say, "surely it couldn't be worse than this." Madam you are wrong, Mrs Iyoyo!

You are trying to generate revenue for the Federal Government!

The latest prices published the correct amount to dispense products was somewhere around 99 naira, so where did the additional 45 naira appear from?

Who are you to put a maximum price?

Filling stations in my area were selling for 130, now they'll increase theirs to maybe 160-200,

At a time where tomatoes is selling for 4 "seeds " 200N
Dollar exchanging for over 320 (Parallel market)
Basin of Garri is now 3k as against 1k5
Rice is now. 16-17k a bag.
But Workers salaries remain the same!

ThefakeStan
This is how I think they arrived at N145. If the govt provided forex for these marketers at the official rate then ninety something naira would be possible. However, these marketers would be sourcing for dollars at the parallel market. I don't think it's coincidence that the ratio N320:N197 is almost equal to N145:N86

eledalo:
No matter the price of a barrel of oil, the price remains the same: Despite the rise and falls of crude oil prices from time immemorial, the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene has never come up or down in response to the crude oil price! Instead, it slowly and constantly creeps higher every single year. Diesel was deregulated in 2009 and sold for about N90 (See pic below). Today diesel retails for between N125-135 per litre. Why has the price been going up consistently?
When the raw material for a particular good falls as sharply as crude oil has, the cost of producing that good also falls. The price of PMS fell in other countries. Nigeria is an exception because the fall in the naira wrt dollar evened things up.

“We will act immediately.
“We will conduct an investigation to know exactly

the violence once and for all is to look beyond
one incident and ascertain exactly what factors
are behind the conflicts,” he said.
President Buhari stressed that all Nigerians must

It's after this that both police and military have been deployed to site and several arrests made. Note the facts of denials too from the herdsmen. The herdsmen say it's not them but cattle rustlers etc. Its certainly not an act of impunity against the government or community like the case of boko haram or pipeline vandals or those Shite boys or Nnamdi Kanu. Why they should be treated like boko haram is sentimental, let's be practical and reasonable.

It's obvious you didn't watch the match. I stand to be corrected; there has never been a time he scored while they were trailing 2-0 that he ran to corner flag to celebrate.
SportsRe: No ManCity Player Celebrated Iheanacho Goal Against Southampton. Why? by P0intBlank(m):

I have seen that happen a couple of times. Truth be told, he has to learn quick. There are some goals you just dont waste time celebrating. Your team is a goal or 2 down, you score, and start heading towards the corner flag to celebrate... thats immature.

The normal thing is to grab the ball and run towards the centre circle, your teammates will shake hands with you and the match resumes, no time wasting.

Against Crystal Palace, away, when he scored the winning goal in the dying minutes of the game, they all rallied round him and celebrated.
I can bet you didn't watch the match.
