Wow. What astonishing prophecies! * The lord said because Nigeria have forsaken me, There will be more Bomb Blast in NigeriaThis is hilarious. |
dominique:I agree. There are plenty of reasons to use soap, but claiming a particular soap cures malaria is just a fraud. Allikola:One thing does not prove the other, Allikola! Please leave these claims for scientific researchers. |
This is a joke, right? |
Here's one man's take on the subject: http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/taju-tijani/dreadful-myth-of-ember-months.html To all Nairalanders! Please put your safety first in these months and in all others- don't drink and then drive! |
And just to show how OLAADEGBU argues, that tired old source of his comes from here: http://www.genesispark.com/genpark/origin/origin.htm For guaranteed laughs, I reccommend the site. bright007:Well, you can always start a thread about the origins of humans, can't you, bright007. This one's about dinosaurs. Still, on the subject of the origins of humans, again, back to wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human Anatomically modern humans evolved from archaic Homo sapiens in Africa in the Middle Paleolithic, about 200,000 years ago. By the beginning of the Upper Paleolithic period (50,000 BP [Before Present]), full behavioral modernity, including language, music and other cultural universals had developed. There is, however an alternative view on this ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Clm6nlWxzc Back to dinosaurs, please! edited to add: Curiously enough, even AnswersinGenesis has criticised the 'walking with dinos' idea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_Hovind And to give you an idea of just how absurd the thing can get: http://www.chick.com/bc/2000/dinosaurs.asp |
OLAADEGBU, have you forgotten your own posts? The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs, Dr. David Norman, 1985, p. 186.These are your out of date sources. Please, educate yourself. I've posted up an excellent source for you to peruse and learn from. Why not take advantage of it? The evolution of dinosaurs occupies a good part of the article I linked to. Did you read it? |
I was just trying to correct PA1982's claims that paul's teachings on giving was only to support his ministry. The poster has put words in my mouth. Read my post again. I notice my point wasn't addressed, either. |
Repeated twice in two different Gospels is not an emphasis? Saying a rich should give to the poor before following him is not an emphasis? Jesus says NOTHING about tithing. Or gives his approval of such a practise. In fact, his reaction to the Temple money-changers rather gives an idea of what he thinks about charging for services rendered by religious figures. It's Paul, who, of course never knew Jesus, who goes on about giving generously (to his church), isn't it? |
Intersting to see BMI interpretation varies! Still, what we're intersted in is changing habits and feeling and looking good. Friday's log. Water, 1.8 litres. Exercise: Full side planks, in the morning 12 each side Food: lunch- medium salad with red cabbage, shredded 1/2 apple, diced, 1/2 carrot, slivered the White of one egg, diced evening snack, after a double shift at work 40 grammes lotfat cheese 1/2 glass of good red wine. Today, Saturday, is another double at work. Happey weekend to all! |
My question goes unanswered. Why are people quoting from a known forgery in the NT canon to back up their belief the Earth is 6,000 years old? I refer to 2 Peter, of course. Doesn't anyone realise the foolishness of this? And as a curiosity, Jericho has been dated to over 9,000 BC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jericho That makes Jericho older than the Earth, doesn't it? And guess what? No evidence of a flood there! Joagbaje wrote Have you wondered why most scientific discovery of those fossil claim that a flood must have destroyed them millions of years ?Epic fail. Shall I send you to Wiki again to start your education? OLAADEGBU wrote: All you had to do was to answer my questions and back up your words with scientific facts otherwise you might just continue to take solace in your ad hominems. There was no ad hom. in my comment, OLAADEGBU. I was attacking your argument, not you. I said your sources were out-dated. That your quotes and conclusions were nonsense. I also added the hope you'd learn in time. Here's a definition of ad hom for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem You want to learn about dinos? Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinosaur There is a long section on the origins of dinos. Working with out of date data is frustating, OLAADEGBU. I know. I've been there. But that's why we move on. You'll find the wiki article fascinating and with lots of links! I direct people to wiki because while it's not where any investigation ends, it's a good place to begin for the general reader. |
Gosh. It seems posters didin't understand this message nagoma Re: Pain & Mercy! My Husband Had Vasectomy Because Of Me « #83 on: Yesterday at 10:52:23 AM » No vasectomy does'nt stop Fluid production. It only stops its transpotation from the testis to the urethra (the tube thru which urine passes out). Young Spermatozoa are produced in the testes (seminiferous tubules) about 2billion Spermatozoa every month. they are stored and mature in the epididymis. When expulsion is going to happen Spermatozoa travel thru a tube called the VAS DEFERENS to the urethra. This vas deferens is the tube that is cut and tied to prevent Fluid from coming into urethra and this procedure is called vasectomy. The Spermatozoa in their jouney down the urinary tube are mixed with other liquids - seminal fluid and prostatic fluid to improve certain things.Did't people understand this? That husband is still able to father children. Now. About these opinions about altering God's plan. Please get serious. Is having a tooth filled altering God's plan? How about circumcism? How about blood donations? How about using a condom? Why is a vascectomy altering God's plan, since the man's capacity to father children is not taken away after the operation? |
The bible story I've quoted is told twice in the gospels and the versions are in agreement, something which can't be said of the last words Jesus spoke before dying. So I'd say, yes, it's important. Jesus himself says it is the first step, doesn't he. So that makes it much more important than Paul's wheedling to get money out of his 'churches', doesn't it? |
^^^^Like. I can't believe people quote 2 Peter in a discussion about dinosaurs! After all, it's pretty well accepted 2 Peter is a forgery. Get real, posters. macayub wrote: Some scientists belief that earth is older than the sun since it had long ago cool off while the Sun is still burning, they belief that one day the Sun too will stop burning. That's very very good. You do know why the sun 'burns' don't you? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun For starters. OLAADEGBU, your information is so out-dated it's pathetic. It's the sort of thing you'd expect to read from a religious fanatic in the American deep South, not someone in the 21st century. And no, I'm not mocking you. I know that one day you'll understand the nonsense you've been fed is simply that- nonsense. Hint- the intermediate forms are all around you! |
Hmmm. A vascectomy is altering God's 'plan'? Please get serious, posters! Next you'll be against dental work and blood transfusions! The reality is, 7 years later the husband blames for the wife for his vascectomy? Hmm. Honey, I think your husband is looking outside of your marriage. A poster wrote: I'm talking maybe a gallon of S p e r m in the bank would have prevented your heart ache now.A gallon? Do you know how much a gallon is? |
AjanleKoko-I do know what you mean about dragging yourself to exercise. Yest I promise you it will trim down your bell and waistand arms like nothing else. While fruit for dinner is good, I WOULD suggest you vary it with veggies- they're much lower in calories! Yesterday was a redletter day- a family birthday! I ate of the birthday cake and toasted with a very good cava (Spanish champagne), so I think I'll leave the food log decently shrouded! I did stay off the snacking foods and other things, so it wasn't a total disaster. Water: 1.9 litres. exercise: full side planks, in the morning only 12 each side. Today is back to work day. |
macayub- In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The Sun precedes the Earth by a long, long time, so this 'darkness' is a human construct, not factual. Every religion has their own particular creation myth and the OT is neither more nor less mythical than any other. In fact, the OT creation myths differ among themselves, depending on which OT book you read. Surely, in the 21st century, we have moved on from this sort of mythos, as we have moved on from believing the Sun circles the Earth. Or that the Earth is flat. Or that the stars 'hang' in the sky. Who needs to believe such stories are literally true? |
Welcome to AjaneKoko! I'm no longer the newest on the thread! 10 kilos by December? Eating healthy and exercise will renovate and trim your figure so you look and feel your best for the holiday season. tolulop001- I just prepare what's available where I shop because going out of my way to buy special foods is boring and $$$$. Log for Tuesday, 31 August Water:1.9 litres Exercise: full side planks, morning and evening 10 each side. Food: 400 grammes quartered artichokes 1 onion, diced 1 carrot, finely diced 2 tablespoons of olive oil microwaved 15 minutes, til done. Add 150 grammes Tofu, in small chunks spices and salt microwave 2 more minutes Divided in 2 and eaten for lunch and supper 2 nofat yogurts with 1 teaspoon of honey 40 grammes lofat cheese 1 glass of good red wine. yesterday was weigh in day- 54.5 kilos. Seems like not much, but remember 1 kilo of fat 0 7,7000 calories. The most important thing is not what the scales say, but what my jeans say! |
Depending on your quickness to learn pronunciation and grammar, from several years to a lifetime. And why do you rule out a Master's? Why not a Master's in the literature of the particular language you're learning? As for 'picking up' French and German, the Aliance Français and the Goethe Insitut would be your best bet. All the best! |
Sorry about the mistype in your username, Image123, it was quite unintentional. The post in question was this one: An interesting point, Image123.I've always wondered how those ostentatiously rich pastors cope with 'the eye of the needle' reference. Later, you answer dare2think's point by writing You insist that Jesus' emphasis is giving to the poor. I said Jesus sympathizes with the poor but that's not/never his emphasis.. It looks very much as though that's not the case, Image123, at least according to Matthew and Luke's account. "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." |
PAGAN 9JA, please try not argue with insults- it looks as though you're trying to show off all you know. ![]() About the age of the Earth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_Earth Here's a good place to start to learn facts, not myths. Every religion has its creation myths, so while it IS always surprising to see them defended in the light of what we know, it's not unexpected. What IS unexpected is to find tectonic plates treated as an urban legend because they aren't mentioned in the bible. Or the Flood treated as a provable, historical event., when we know it is not. This is why I mentioned the fact that the Earth circles the Sun, not the other way around. Christians in Europe persecuted people for showing this from the Renaissance onward, as we know. It's a shame to see this happening once again in the 21st century. |
Nice one, thehomer. Do people really get through secondary schooling and yet believe the earth is 6,000 years old? Do they believe the sun revolves around the earth? The earth is flat? |
This is really impressive. Could you tell me what the last words of Jesus were? |
Anvaller, that was the best advice given in this thread! |
Here's the latest update on Libya http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14726292 Notice this: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has said that growing humanitarian shortages in Libya demand urgent action and appealed to the security council to be "responsive" to requests from the transitional authority for funding.here's the latest update on the massacres http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14729083 |
honeric- Don't stoop to insults, please. The video is very very clear. The killings were done by the gov't forces. The reporter is explicit. tpia- I saw that bbc report, too. The United Nations has called on all sides in the Libyan conflict to prevent acts of revenge. You notice there is nothing confirmed, as yet, nor does it relate to the video honeric mentions. That video makes it clear that massacre in the shed or warehouse was by gov't (proGaddafi) troops before they fled. |
To the OP- First of all, perfect and polish your English writing skills and your pronunciation of English. The clearer you speak, the better translater you'll be believe me! ![]() And about translation for the UN- Unless things have changed, the standard for translating for the UN is very high. In general, translation is a separate academic career with its own diplomas and exams. As for choice of languages? French, Mandarin and Spanish would be good choices, I think. Good luck and all the best! |
Tell your friend he is your friend and support him in his decisions. Life is too short to beat up your friends. At the right time, you might be able talk about Facts, such as the fact the earth spins around the sun, and not the Sun around the earth. That many great scientists are men and women of faith. Above, be rational and courteous. He is a friend, after all. |
First and last, see a dentist. A real dentist. |
gen- This thread is a major inspiration for me. Knowing that I log here what I eat and drink and exercise has stayed my hand from my downfall, my twin devils- crisps and chips. I'd encourage anyone who wants to regain good eating and exercise habits to try logging their activity here. Log for Tuesday, 30 August Water, 2.2 litres Exercise full side planks, morning and evening 10 each side food I'm taking advantage of the summertime to charge up on dark green leafy veg, for the vitamins and minerals. Huge salad- lamb's lettuce Cos lettuce 1 carrot, finely sliced 1 onion, finely sliced 1 beetroot, cubed 2 tablespoons olive oil, salt and herbs 150 grammes no fat fresh cheese divided in 2 and eaten for lunch and supper 2 lofat yoghurts 1 teaspoon honey. 25 grammes crude almonds 1/2 glass of good red wine Tomorrow is weigh in day. |
