Evil Brain:You are very right to claim the essential point is the sterilisation of the instruments, Evil Brain. Old instruments are one thing, but rust? Rust2000:Rust, often those infections are caused by young women who haven't had sexual activity with a man. Simply not changing tampax or sanitary towels often enough, dirty panties or trousers or too tight trousers can be enough to start this cycle of infections with such terrible results. And yes, it's that masturbating without having washed yours hands before can be a cause of pelvic infections, too. The point I'm trying to make here is that a lot of people read these threads and advice given here can help many, even though they haven't posted up a question. I think every post here has been principally about pelvic infections and how they can lead to obstructed tubes. Condoms have been talked about because they help prevent feminine infections as well as STDs. Pelvic infections are a real problem and the better they're understood, better for us all. |
ogajim:God helps those who help themselves. Be alert and don't let yourself be swayed by mass emotions. |
frosbel:What on Earth are you on about? What on Earth does it matter to you what my religious beliefs are? Do all who question you have to be Muslims? I'll confess I'm amused by your fixation about Muslims- do you dream about them at night? Is there some reason why you're avoiding my question, frosbel? What were Jesus' last words? |
Save your insults for people who take you seriously, frosbel. You know very well the NT is as corrupt as any other text that can be named. You don't like Wiki? Because it uses 'big' words? It's an excellent starting place to learn, frosbel, and infinitely superior to that bigoted and ill informed vid you posted up. A book written by scores of men , unrelated in time. but corroborating each other , confirming mutual prophecies, repeating stories and matching expectations in future generations is a wonder and can only be divine in nature.Err. OK. Tell us what the last words of Jesus were. |
^^^This is very good advice for women in general! Washing hands and intimate organs before and after intimacy (both of you!) is also a good idea. Still, rusted instruments being used in a clinic? It should be denounced. |
Rust2000:You are very right there. But. It could help prevent the same thing happening to another woman? Isn't it worth the trouble to at least denounce the physician to the medical college? |
You mean, the others put their money on the altar. Do you really believe you can buy a blessing? |
here's the correct link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tnJ7jt97d4&feature=player_embedded#! You'll find the men interviewed aren't sure who the gunmen are. A terrible situation, really and truly. |
OLAADEGBU:And that eyewitness was who? Tell me, do you really believe the stars hang in the firmament? That the Sun revolves around the earth? Do know what a theory is? Did you know that Gravity is a theory? And why? Did you know that Jericho has been excavated to remains dated to 9,000 BC? And the remains show no evidence of a flood? OLAADEGBU:There is no such thing as a scientific law. Laws are only in Maths. You understand why, don't you? You know what the definition of a scientific theory is? Or do I need to direct you to Wiki again? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_theory I'm always amazed by people who have no qualms of using the benefits of the mass of scientific advances built on what we know about the world around us, yet use the computer to dispute the speed of light! ![]() |
frosbel:No, I haven't heard anything like that, frosbel. In those sorts of situations I don't generally listen to people's exclamations nor ask them their religious beliefs, but am rather trying to to help those around me. Your comment says a lot about you. |
And who's to blame for this possible future lack of generosity in dishing out money in church on the part of the OP? And I say possible. You, Joagbaje, assume the OP won't be generous again. I say the scammer who tried that old trick on the congregation is to blame. The OP would be wise to spend his money on his children's education and his parent's old age comforts. |
^^^Very true about the parents, if they're poor. In which case more shame to the MOG for picking on a girl who is doubly vulnerable. Multiple wives are legal in Nigeria, OK. But a pastor, a Christian, having two wives? And what is to prevent the MOG from throwing the second wife out of his home at any moment? The MOG has already shown a complete lack of honour, manhood and faith. What legal status does this girl actually have? If any? |
The OP has received a lot of good advice! Idon't agree with all of it, but one thing is sure, the subject has been treated seriously and with respect. There's something I'd want cleared up first of all before giving any moral advice: Which of these two women is actually the wife and which, the concubine? I think it's important. But in any case, I'm afraid giftsong was spot on. giftsong:The health of your sister is of paramount importance. Heartbreak heals with time, but AIDS is another story. |
I'd vote for respect and self respect. Along with a HUGE dose of tolerance. |
A good point about the veracity of the story. Still, it wouldn't be the first time a MOG has taken a 16 year old concubine, would it? Why the animosity? Because the MOG is an adulterer. He's violated his marriage vows. He's corrupted a member of his congregation. And even tried to cover it up with money- do you doubt the funds in question came from tithes and donations by the congregation? And to top it off, the MOG has apparently committed bigamy. frosbel, all we know for certain is that neither Jesus nor Paul ADMITTED to being married. Do you catch the difference between that and not being married? ![]() |
Cheap and easy as this scam is, it still works! |
Time for a reality check on the 'incorrupt' NT. http://scriptorium.lib.duke.edu/papyrus/texts/manuscripts.html The New Testament text we read in our English Bibles is based on the original Greek text. We know this text, albeit imperfectly, through a large number of ancient manuscripts. All these manuscripts are mere copies, and the great majority of them are copies of copies, yet ultimately they all derive from the originals. In the process of copying, however, scribal errors are bound to occur. There is not a single copy wholly free from mistakes With the exception of Sin. the oldest manuscripts are not complete. Moreover they contain scribal errors of all sorts. P46 is a case in point: it is the manuscript with the largest percentage of blunders on record!P46 is one of the earliest known scraps of a gospel. And with the largest % of mistakes. Here's another source of information: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_oldest_Greek_manuscript_of_the_Gospel_of_Mark If you are referring to an almost entire manuscript of the Gospel of Mark, then you would go to Codex Vaticanus at around 300 AD, closely followed by Codex Sinaiticus (Aleph) dated at around 350 AD. These however, are not quite complete as they have space allocated for missing verses at the end of Mark and then continue into Luke. In fact, in the Vaticanus manuscript, the space left for the ending is the only such space left in the entire manuscript. My bolding. On the subject of textual variations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textual_variants_in_the_New_Testament#Gospel_of_Luke Origen, writing in the 3rd century, was one of the first who remarked differences between manuscripts of texts that were eventually collected as the New Testament. He declared his preferences among variant readings. For example, in Matthew 27:16–17, he favored "Barabbas" against "Jesus Barabbas" (In Matt. Comm. ser. 121). In John 1:28, he preferred "Bethabara" over "Bethany" as the location where John was baptizing (Commentary on John VI.40 (24)). "Gergeza" was preferred over "Geraza" or "Gadara" (Commentary on John VI.40 (24) – see Matthew 8:28). At Hebrews 2:9, Origen noticed two different readings: "apart from God" and "by the grace of God".And what about differences between the two most complete early texts we have? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Differences_between_codices_Sinaiticus_and_Vaticanus Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus, two of great uncial codices, representatives of the Alexandrian text-type, are considered excellent manuscript witnesses of the text of the New Testament. Most critical editions of the Greek New Testament give precedence to these two chief uncial manuscripts, and the majority of translations are based on their text. Nevertheless, there are many differences between these two manuscripts. According to Dean Burgon: "It is in fact easier to find two consecutive verses in which these two MSS differ the one from the other, than two consecutive verses in which they entirely agree."[1]And just a an historical curiosity, here's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Historical_Account_of_Two_Notable_Corruptions_of_Scripture Now about the ending of Mark, which has puzzled scholars for over a thousand years? http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:OerzqA13QvIJ:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Mark+earliest+manuscripts+of+the+gospels&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&client=firefox-a , The last twelve verses are missing from the oldest manuscripts of Mark's Gospel.[30] The style of these verses differs from the rest of Mark, suggesting they were a later addition. In a handful of manuscripts, a "short ending" is included after 16:8, but before the "long ending", and exists by itself in one of the earliest Old Latin codices, Codex Bobiensis. By the 5th century, at least four different endings have been attested. (See Mark 16 for a more comprehensive treatment of this topic.) Possibly, the Long Ending (16:9-20) started as a summary of evidence for Jesus' resurrection and the apostles' divine mission, based on other gospels.[31] It was likely composed early in the 2nd century and incorporated into the gospel around the middle of the 2nd century.[31]I think this is enough to explain just why I found the smug assertions of the person in the OP's video to be quite so offensively unpalatable. |
I only wrote what any sensible person would write, though I adore compliments. ![]() I actually have faith that as time goes by and people see that absolutely nothing happens by way of curses or divine retribution when these filthy MOGs are taken to task, they will lose their power. Keep in mind these creeps maintain their power the same way jujmen do- by fear induced by trickery. |
I hear you, God2man. While I know you're sincere and I respect your warning as timely, why not go to the root of the problem- the man's attitude? If he's jealous at 11 pm, he'll be jealous sooner or later at 10 pm. And at 10 am. Jealousy is as cruel as the grave and there's no way to appease it. |
Precisely, Ansel1, that's why the claims it refers to a dynasty have always jarred on me. LagosShia- while I can well understand the tensions resulting from the Muslim bashing I've seen here, admittedly perpetrated by a vociferous minority, I do beg you tp please remember those tensions can only abate in a secular context. Religious fanaticism is ugly no matter what label it carries. We're all in the same boat and we all want to arrive to a safe haven, don't we? |
I'm impressed by that video, frosbel. It's as specious a bit of reasoning as I've seen in some time and thanks for posting up such a perfect example of Christian apologetics scraping the bottom of the barrel. It will have escaped no-one's attention, of course, that the bits and pieces of the gospel the man quotes as being from the 2nd and third century (and we are literally talking about scraps of text) were all written in, Greek. Yes, Greek. A language neither Jesus nor his apostles nor his followers spoke. In fact, many of the word plays from the NT are only understandable from the Greek. And since that fellow was burbling on about the accuracy of the NT as we know, perhaps you could tell what the last words of Jesus were. Why on earth do you start a thread with such stuff? |
kizydafizy:Where to start? , he lured the girl to bed with the consequences of unavoidable pregnancy. Is there some reason pastors don't use condoms? Ignorance or what? the girl confessed that it was her pastor, the General Overseer who took her virginity while making prophecies that God had chosen that she should be part of the pastor.Once again, the mischief of prophecies! claimed that it was the work of the devil. Not only an unscrupulous old goat, but a coward as well. , girl is said to be under the care of the pastor as a second wife. What? What? What? What kind of parents would permit such a thing? The girl is now branded as a randy old goat's concubine! Far better to be a single mum! Who can take seriously the old goat's integrity to recognise the child as his? He's shown to be a faithless hypocrite. Far better to be a single mum! |
Ansel1, glad to see you're familiar with those links! Bibical archeology is a delicate subject, the many invasions of the sites and destructions make what is a difficult subject more so. Religious sensibilities come into play, especially when it's clear a dearly held mythos (often cherished for aesthetic and emotional reasons) that's put into review. This is my own case, as I truly believe the world would be a poorer place without stained glass, often inspired by bibical accounts. Still, the glass remains to be enjoyed! And Bach's cantatas. But this is off topic, sorry! Back to the OP. A question, Ansel1- does Bethel mean dwelling place or dynasty? |
On the subject of Jericho, from Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Jericho The first scientific investigation of the site of Jericho was carried out by Charles Warren in 1868, but amounted to no more than a site-survey (Warren's prime interest was in establishing the modern equivalents of Biblical locales). In 1907-09 and again in 1911 digging was carried out by two German archaeologists, Carl Watzinger and Ernest Sellin. Watzinger and Sellin believed that they would be able to validate the Biblical story of Jericho's destruction by Joshua and the Israelites, but concluded instead that the data indicated that the city was unoccupied at the time which the Bible indicated for the Conquest. This is why it's so important to keep up to date on historical findings. Off to hunt out more on the subject of Kings David and Solomon. |
frosbel, sorry to have offended you with the word trolling! It was an inexcusable lack of sensitivity on my part. And I most deeply apologise for it. But back to that article you linked- it even discusses the fall of Jericho without taking into account the latest datings done on the grain found on site. The article really isn't up to par, you know. HISchild, thanks for posting the OT quotes about King David. When were they written? |
From frosbel's source and I kid you not: Fourth, thousands of archives have been discovered, but an enormous amount of material has been lost. For example, the library in Alexandria held over one million volumes, but all were lost in a seventh century fire. Was this written for 12year olds or what? |
Ansel1:Thanks! It's from 2000 and I think my own list of links is considerably more recent. See what you think of them! We'll talk more later! frosbel:If this is an example of what you read, there's not much chance we'll debate. That link went to a pathetically outof date source that should have been axed ages ago. Even BAR is more reliable as a source! Or even BAS. Really, frosbel, I can only assume you're trolling me. |
Err, hardly the response I thought I'd get. When someone doesn't want to post up their sources, it's ususually because they have none, in my experience. Did you see what I'd posted up before your ill-considered reply? And here's one last thing- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelomit_seal Dr. Mazel was obliged to alter her interpretation of the Shelomite seal. Now why not be open about your sources, frosbel, or are we to think you simply made up your claim? After all, the claim is yours. Defend it. |
frosbel:Could you post up some links to that confirmation, please? Bibical archeology is of great interest to me. OP- if your post is citing an article, could you please post up the link to the original?. Many times the best part of an article is in the sources they cite and I like to follow these things through! Thanks in advance. edited to add. This is what a quick google search found me: http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/MFAArchive/2000_2009/2003/9/King%20David%20and%20Jerusalem-%20Myth%20and%20Reality Cautious and reluctant to draw any conclusions, other than that jerusalem existed. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/05/international/middleeast/05jerusalem.html Linking proving the connection missing. And her findings are not confirmed by any means http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eilat_Mazar Here's a reference in BAR about the 'House of David' stele http://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/biblical-artifacts/artifacts-and-the-bible/the-tel-dan-inscription-the-first-historical-evidence-of-the-king-david-bible-story/ Even BAR refuses to draw any conclusions from it. It's a tricky question. |
This is absurd. Lots of people, both men and women, work night shifts. Are they not to be allowed to make the calls they feel appropriate at the hour they please? We live in a world where Skype lets me talk to a friend in Australia- I should refuse their call because someone might take it into their heads to imagine that means I'm not a lady? Get serious. In any case, girls can spend hours on the phone late at night with another girlfriend. About clothes. About whether a certain boy is really interested or not, etc. We all know that. Signs of infidelity are another matter, though, of course. Beware a man who receives after midnight calls, girls! And fellahs, if you don't want your girlfriend or wife talking on the phone late at night, why not occupy her attention? ![]() |
Lax75 wrote @ OP and EVERYONE -W.A.W.? I'm in. OP- As other posters have said- you don't need a woman like that in your life. Study, keep sober and all the best in your exams! |
The individual prophecies just show how easy it is to Google anyone of us here. But this one indicates to me the OP is just having a joke A boy at Monte Carlo, Benin City was emailed the SPIRIT of Madness from an India Man and the boy after reading his email became MAD instantly, right there at the Cyber Cafe. Feel free to enquire about the above statements and PROPHECIES. There are POWERS but God power is Superior. It sounds more like the India man sent the wrong MTCN. ![]() |
