And why the glorification and mass publication of what Oyedepo has said. Why dont you let us just witness this madness and death of Boko Haram and praise the Lord for his miracles. I will revive this thread after the next Boko Haram strike.

I agree.
The best policy is to show the adherents of these preachers the truth.
No one has the power to curse in the name of the Lord.

Renounce cursing in the Lord's name?

For any one here who is ranting his or her mouth against Gods servant MAY THE JUDGEMENT OF GOD his servant spews from his mouth rest upon you all in this page, since you dont know the difference between Gods servant, man of God, and a prophet of God, just like in the bible, those children that came out abusing and laughing at Gods servants "PROPHET ELIJAH", and he instantly caused them and the wild beast came out from the bush and devour them all, may such heavy calamity rest upon you all and your families. This week if heavy calamity does not come to you and your family members. then God has not called Bishop David Oyedepo. EXCERPT GOD HAS NOT CALL BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO, WILL YOU PEOPLE GOD SCOT FREE WITH ABUSING GOD'S SERVANT. I stand tto let you know that, "right from the days of John the baptist, the Kingdom of God suffereth violence and its only the violence that will take it by force" Do you think a president Johnathan is silly to go and kneel or Obasanjo before adeboye for prayers, and you mere beings just sit down here to be abusing these men of God, anyway the bible has said "for my people perished for lack of knowledge, lack of understanding, lack of wisdom" repent or this impending calamity will rest upon you and your family members, a word is enough for the wise.

Too bad for you! Free Speech trumps all other idea's in a civilized 20th century society.

Maybe if we were back in the dark ages, or during the Christian Crusades a ban on criticizing ''men of God" would fly, but make no mistake, WE ARE NOT!

I agree.
I feel no reason not to laugh at someone who threatens me with 'divine punishment' because I point out the fact the Emperor has no clothes.

Just like phemmy observed, constant power supply will drastically reduce consumption by more than half because generators consumed majority of the petrol brought into this country.

We claim to be fighting poverty while our system encourages burning wealth in the name of running generators.

Yes.
In any case, I'll be interested in seeing just how the various figures of petroleum consumption parse.

perhaps you are the dense one?

What place exist in heaven for a Pastor that owns 4 Jets and lives a luxury life when record number of children die of hunger across the world on a daily basis?   30 million dollars (apprx 4.5 billion naira cst of Oyedepo's fourth Jet) will put smiles on the faces of millions of families and bring hope to millions of kids worldwide, but guess what?  Our daddy GO has chosen to spend for his comfort in the place of all these. . . .and you morons will attempt to convince the rest of us "It is the Lord's blessings and it's truly marvelous in our sight"

I wonder if you all skipped the bible verse where the Lord Jesus advised a rich man to sell all his possessions and give the proceeds to the poor.

Show me a man who spends all resources gathered from the house of God in feeding these ones, and i'd show you a Christ like fellow whose heart is truly golden!

Frankly, that Bible verse is one of the most poignant I've read, and one that makes it hard for a fully 'worldly crook' like me to become born again (leaving all these sweet material things behind). BUT BUT BUT, if I ever become 'born again' (let alone a self-proclaimed man of God!), I would DEFINITELY begin by following that verse to the letter. I just can't imagine living a comfortable, let alone luxurious life, whilst claiming to be 'called' to do God's work. God's work necessarily entails sacrifice, not comfort and indulgence. How can one possibly enjoy heaven here on earth and also expect to make Heaven after death? It is sooo counterintuitive, and that is why Jesus CLEARLY said that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to make heaven.

Yes, that's the nut of the matter, isn't it?
In any case, what I find most disturbing is NOT the capacity of these flim-flam men to con people out of their money, but that their devoted followers are willing to 'curse' those who criticise them!
Surely this is an example of the 'Stockholm Syndrome'!
