I wonder if you all skipped the bible verse where the Lord Jesus advised a rich man to sell all his possessions and give the proceeds to the poor.

Show me a man who spends all resources gathered from the house of God in feeding these ones, and i'd show you a Christ like fellow whose heart is truly golden!

Frankly, that Bible verse is one of the most poignant I've read, and one that makes it hard for a fully 'worldly crook' like me to become born again (leaving all these sweet material things behind). BUT BUT BUT, if I ever become 'born again' (let alone a self-proclaimed man of God!), I would DEFINITELY begin by following that verse to the letter. I just can't imagine living a comfortable, let alone luxurious life, whilst claiming to be 'called' to do God's work. God's work necessarily entails sacrifice, not comfort and indulgence. How can one possibly enjoy heaven here on earth and also expect to make Heaven after death? It is sooo counterintuitive, and that is why Jesus CLEARLY said that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to make heaven.
